Would love to see a few more of these "explains his performance" videos from you on tunes with different styles/tempos
Noted! I’ll get to work soon. Thanks!
A top-level pro musician would never have the time or the patience to personally work with a slow, stumbling, inept wannabe such as myself, but through the magic of TH-cam, AND your generosity in sharing your vast knowledge, I get insights that would otherwise never be available for me. HUGE THANKS!
Haha, well I'm glad that you're enjoying it. And be kind to yourself! I'm sure you're doing better than you think. :)
' My life a wreck you're making'. Classic line.
That whole song, man…just beautiful.
You are sharing so many tips that most musicians would never divulge. Love these videos. Thanks
Because I used to struggle so much when playing in time, I would "over Rubato" pieces I was playing. But even Rubato requires a certain underlying sense of playing in time.
Yeah, rubato shouldn't be a fallback or a crutch, but should be used for musical purposes only. :)
I really loved how you spotlight the screen here at YT College. Very smooth flowing between screen. Absolutely enjoyed your humor and presentation energy throughout the video. Thank you 🎵💕🥂
I dig your channel, Jeremy. You have the knowledge and experience and teaching ability that few others have. One improvement that would greatly help your channel is to buy a shotgun mic. Position it as close to your voice as possible, just out of the video frame. Right now, your audio 'coloring' is mostly 'ROOM'. Having a decent mic placed close to the sound source is critical. And, keep up the brilliant work !!
I really like this rendition of "Body and Soul". A very tasteful rendition of it.
I appreciate it - thanks so much! There are so many great versions of the tune.
Those opening chords/bell tones are straight up Ravel to my ear. Love it.
I love Ravel and Debussy! Thanks, Trevor!
A friend told me rubato is Latin for “ignoring the drummer” 😃
Haha, was this "friend" a drummer? 😉
Good watch!
Grateful to be alive the same time you are publishing this incredible piano playing content, see you tomorrow!!!!
Wow, high praise! Thank you! And thanks for "coming" to the webinar. I hope you got something out of it. I appreciate your support of the channel, Wade!
Hi Jeremy, great breakdown, with your narcissistic humour! Very amusing and so informative. I'm loving your book, and looking forward to your webinar tomorrow! With thanks Martyn 😁🎹
Thanks, Martyn! Nice to "see" you at the webinar this morning (or, at least, it was morning for me...I'm not sure what it was for you 😂 ).
So great that you share so much of your knowledge and musical choices, thanks again😎
Awesome, Theo! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Really enjoying your book and your videos!
I'm so happy to hear that, Raymond! More are coming your way. :)
Love your content so much! Thank you!!
Thank you, Anastasia!!!
Love your book And this video. Keep it up
Yay! I'm so glad, John. I remember sending your book - thanks for your order!
Some beautiful playing audio very clear
Aw, thank you so much, Ran! Your version of "Laura" with Jeanne Lee is one of my all-time favorite recordings. It's something to aspire to as an accompanist!
@@JeremySiskind thank you Jeremy. We had seen the movies s few times. We also recorded you stepped out of s dream .Jeanne was so unique
I must say, I was rather impressed by the voicings, and flowing ideas presented.
Thanks, Chip! I’m glad you liked it!
Dear Jeremy it‘s so amazing and gorgeous what you do (how you play and explain to us) ! I bought your book at my local musicshop and have endless things to do 😉
Please keep on your fantastic work !
Best wishes from Munic
Stefan
That's so nice, Stefan! Munich is on my list of places I want to visit someday. I hope to continue to make German friends and visit you all. :) I'm so glad you're enjoying the book - it warms my heart!
@@JeremySiskind We have the "Unterfahrt"(one of European's Top five Jazzclubs - you have to play absolutely ! And I will be there ✌- As a musician I would be proud to meet you !
Stefan
@@stefanflemmerer2183 I want to play there!!!
That was very informative, thank you! I'm hoping for more videos like that from you. I think it's the best way to understand how we can put all the cool concepts we've been practicing all the time into music.
Great! I'm glad you liked it. I might do more - but maybe walking through what I hear other artists doing (I just have to figure out copyright/legal issues).
I liked this a lot! Remember when I first saw that rendition of body and soul, really memorable performance in my mind!
Thanks so much, Ernst! I am grateful for your continued support.
Wonderfully useful video ...again Jeremy. Thank you so much for allowing your arm to be twisted and taking the time to produce this. I'm going to re-watch a few times to let it all sink in. Till this afternoon for the webinar.
Thanks, Julian! Feel free to let me know if you have further questions or ideas. I think I "saw" you at the webinar - thanks for attending!
Amazing video and incredible performance! So much amazing theory! I also found it hilarious when you played with the apple pencil in your hand like it was nothing!
#teacherskills those are the things they don't teach you in school! (I really didn't notice I was doing that)
very good tutorial
Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked it!
Jeremy ur an unbelievable pianist! Bought ur book and it's out of this world!! I look forward to all ur videos.
Ps. I'd watch this video even if It was an hour long 😁
Aw, that's so kind! Thank you! I'm getting some nice feedback on the video, so maybe I'll do more like it in the future!
Hey Jeremy. I found this incredibly useful and would really appreciate more of the same - if you're able. Thanks for all your insights!
I’m glad you like it! I’ll keep that in mind and maybe do some more. 😊
Man you're full of resources, maybe you're a little harsh on yourself when you say "If I where a better pianist" jajaja. I found some gold stuff here to take home
Thanks, man! I'm workin' on my craft...trying to get a little every day. :)
