Your weapon reviews are the best that I have seen, because you give opinions, comparisions, etc. , not like for example DPJ that only reads the perks, and some crucible gameplay; you are the best :D
I feel bad saying it because I don't really have anything against him, but DPJ's reviews bother me... un-upgraded weapons, no damage numbers, just overall lack of depth. Really bothers me, so im glad this channel exists :)
The thing a lot of people miss about the Dragon's Breath is that it's designed to be used differently than other launchers - it's designed for fast follow-ups and to barrage from closer ranges, hence all the damned stability. You can't really compare it to Truth or Gjallahorn because it has a completely different battlefield role. Truth is designed to hit mobile targets for big damage, or deal with enemies in the Crucible. Gjallahorn is designed for massive long-range DPS. Dragon's Breath is designed for closer ranges. The combination of high stability and low velocity seem counter-intuitive to most, but they actually all play to the Dragon's Breath's strengths, since the weapon excels at inflicting massive damage to relatively stationary and close targets via barrage firing. This is also why it fires quicker than the other two. Get three rockets on-target with this monster and watch as everything remotely near the strike zone suffers critical existence failure. Gods help your enemies if you've got Solar Burn or Blessing of Light going. People immediately see a lack of tracking and immediately scream about how bad this makes it, but fact is, tracking is nowhere near as critical a perk as most of the playerbase makes it out to be. Big targets like Fallen Walkers, and a surprising plurality of bosses often happily oblige you by standing stock still and not moving as the rocket hits, blossoms into a solar flare, and devours their health in greedy chunks. This thing can brutalize Atheon, Valus Tau'arc, Sekion, and several other bosses. Many, if not all of them, will spend a bit of time standing still and firing on you. Against mobs, Dragon's Breath both clears out opposition and then keeps them from coming back for a time. It's also surprisingly good against Phalanxes, which can block the rocket only to be killed by the Flare. Likewise, on Crucible, unless you're packing Truth (with its super-fast lock speed), tracking isn't gonna make or break any launcher; anything remotely near ground zero with a rocket launcher shot is comprehensively screwed, tracking or not, and being able to lead a target often more than makes up for not having homing capability. In this regard, Dragon's Breath, like Gjallahorn, is practically overkill, but unlike Gjallahorn, Dragon's Breath can shine in this environment because of how big the blast is. The slower velocity means little when you're fighting up-close in the first place, and Dragon's Breath's Pyromancer perk gives it a few interesting options for control. Overall, it's baffling how I keep seeing this damned thing rated so low. It's hardly a perfect weapon, but it's an outstanding one if mastered. Gjallahorn's a beast to be sure, but PlanetDestiny rates that thing as close to a 10/10 as is available, and it's just as insanely situational a weapon in its own right, its main purpose being massive burst damage (where it excels at boss-killing). Truth isn't any stronger than other rocket launchers of the same power, but has a 8/10 overall, whereas the Dragon's Breath has a goddamned 6! You're essentially implying that most standard Legendary rockets are better than the Dragon's Breath at this point. If you're talking the likes of Hezen Vengeance, then yes, maybe you might have a point (since that thing is a fricking Micro-Gjallahorn), but you rated Radegast's Fury higher than this thing!
I wish they'd used a different animation for the solar flare. It looks too fake with the grenade like effect ... it would have been better if the rocket exploded, leaving napalm-like fire splattered over its blast radius.
Considering 90% of all the rocket launchers we use in the game don't have tracking, everyone should be pretty good at placing shots, moving targets , etc. The solar flare just makes this thing awesome. I can't wait to upgrade this thing.
love the description for his weapon... classic depictions? flying beast? all returning back to the old world war 2 planes with the shark teeth motif on the sides
Did you know that if someone has this equip on there back they leave a smoke trail coming out of the barrel of this gun. Super cool detail for a super fun weapon.
So here's what I got from the Dark Below Exotic reviews: 4th Horseman: You're better off with Found Verdict and Invective. No Land Beyond: Clumsy Sniper Rifle is clumsy. Dragon's Breath: Gjallarhorn Jr. Overall, it seems like the Exotic Weapons from The Dark Below just aren't worth it...and that's...kinda sad. Edit: I forgot about the Necrochasm, but that doesn't seem as good to me, either. Rapid fire-low impact auto rifles are just not that good to me, at least in my opinion.
The effect of perks in the second tree that change stats are dependant on the perk of the first tree. The velocity perk in the second tree has more/less effect depending on the first tree
if dragon's breath automatically held three rockets and had tracking as a tier one perk this weapon would be so much better. Even without three rockets it would still be an amazing weapon
The sight for Dragon's Breath is perfectly matched with the warlock sunginger ability Angel of Light which allows you to hang in the air when your weapon is aimed. On some other rocket launchers your field of vision is greatly reduced as they use a scope to aim but with this sight you get a really nice field of view when you hang in the air. I think the pyromancer perk is no coincidence making this the ideal sunsinger heavy weapon.
I can't seem to find a Gjhallohorn:/ but I will definitely pick this bad boy up for 17 coins!! Even though it doesn't have tracking, it will still do a ton of Damage, plus Bungie could Buff it in the future.
I think this gun is going to be extremely useful for Crota's End. Imagine if everyone used this for the beginning faze with the lamps. You could just surround yourself in fire and no one would ever touch you. Plus it could be useful for deathsingers if you just let one loose amongst those hundreds of knights. Can't wait to level mine up!
As someone who, thanks to rngesus, had to make it a majority of the game without a tracking launcher, I can gladly tell you even Crota, the premier use of tracking rocket launchers can just as well be done by regular ones - it just requires a bit more effort. Generally though, the enemy AI in PvE is pretty predictable, and spawn trapping with continual dps sounds pretty useful to me. I feel like the second a launcher doesn't have tracking people are just gonna assume it's garbage because you might have to actually aim then lead your target.
I do kinda wish it at least had proximity detonation as an option though, I'll concede to that. Does anyone know if you can use it to spawn trap mobs right as they're coming out a door?
Arkensol - Gaming Clips If you have a stack of coins waiting then sure. If your below something like 30 coins then I'd say saving would be the best choice. If you do decide to get it spend an extra coin on the rocket telemetries to upgrade faster.
Arkensol - Gaming Clips If you have 2 characters you can get back to where you were and if you have 3 characters you'll still be making coins even though you bought it. But you just might get screwed if Xur has a really good week next time. :P
This weapon is actually decent in PoE. I used it on the bosses, because they usually stay in a spot for a moment and the solar flare did some nice damage. Its also useful for blocking enemy movement to buy your teammates some time. If anyone hasn't used it in PoE, give it a try on 28/32.
Something that would make the DB more like a dragon, and also much better in combination with the tripod is if they added some sort of charge that makes it so you can fire all three rockets at once, that would make so much better! Not too OP because of the small amount of time the solar flares stay, but also worth the titel of an exotic! I don't like the idea about tracking on it, its just... you know... ALL the other exotic launchers have tracking... Exotics is supposed to be unique right?
I love this thing! It's like an old Spitfire Fighter without the wings! I was lucky enough to get two randomly dropped, I think one was in Crucible. So now both my guardians have one =D
The dragons breath description should be the old cruicible rocket laucher description. I forsee fire, fire and screams. You would mate your a rocket launcher
I feel like nobody at Bungie actually thought things through when they developed these weapons. Who is going to us the Heavy Payload perk? Who needs Stability?
i like what bungie did with this launcher . the other two launchers were mainly used for end game bosses alon because of their amazing damage output the the ability to hit the target with ease but with this launcher they based it of , of the strategy of zone control therefore it can be used more often to hold of a place example a spawnpoint while you have some time to focus on the more serious matter at hand example : In the vault , if you have trouble with the pratorian you can block of the additional spawn of other enemies and focus on the prat.
I am surprised I had never come across your channel before. Thank you for making quality reviews. I can tell, from the few videos of yours ive seen so far, that you put a lot of time into your reviews. I can appreciate this. Ive been trying to make up my mind on whether to get Dragons Breath or not. Many people say it is not very good, use galahorn...but I have never been blessed with galahorn. I can see the uses this has now. thanks
Hey planet destiny could you give a shout out to DBMgamer he also does destiny videos and has a great channel but it is not well known he also would be an amazing contribution to your team if you invited him in.
Hey Patrick, I Just recieved The Black Hammer, And Hunger Of crota. If you wanna Do a Review I Would be happy to let you. Also sorry about the "hust of the pit" my internet went Out for a while. I can be contacted here: (Xbox 360) GT: Dhg Billybbb123
It seems that the Dragon's breath is far more useful than gjalahorn in multitarget scenarios such as the deathsinger in hunger of crota but gjalahorn is better with single, more mobile targets such as Atheon. This is because the g-horn provides highly reliable single target damage that cannot be avoided but with the dragon's breath the enemy AI should attempt to avoid the area of effect after the impact and thus not take the weapon's peak damage output. Personally my play style leans toward the dragon's breath to combo with my defender titan's helmet of saint for an area control build.
I got this from an engram, was pretty excited! It was awesome in PvE and I was about to get the awesome Pyromancer perk but then... I got Gjallarhorn, never looked back since I got Wolfpack rounds in like 2 days.
The markings on it make me think of a P-51 mustang. I I think its cool how some of the back-blast from the rocket goes out the exhaust tubes at the side!
They have to make pyromancer effect last 10 seconds, and give it a damage boost. It seems the skill is on par with the Lock, solar flare, it should be no competition. Also, the appearance of the flare has to be changed.
What they should have done: Make it a standard 3 tube like how truth is and then add tracking as the first perk. I'm sure more people would use it then. I would.
They should make a rocket launcher that has like 5 shots per mag and has 15 shots total inventory, and has a very high fire rate, but each rocket doesn't do particularly high damage or have a high blast radius.
This weapon should not be called dragons breath. It comes from the planes on the P-40's that General Claire Lee Chennault's pilots (the "Flying Tigers") flew in WWII in support of China vs. Japan. It is a Tiger shark design not a dragon.
got it from the first chest on CE yesterday, its an amazing rocket launcer and tbh since i have a maxed out Hunger of Crota which is like a legendery version of gjallahorn im not even sure if i need the gjallahorn atm!
Personally. Using a different rarity scale, I think the Hunger of Crota is the real middle ground between the two. Or it's at least how I feel. The Tracking like the Truth and cluster bombs to simulate the Wolf Pack rounds of the Gjallarhorn, And it's solar too, so. If I had to say any rocket came close to being a middle ground weapon, I feel it's got to be that.
but it has the same tracking as gally if fact the only difference between the two is that wolf pack rounds track in the cluster as well as the rocket it self. Hunger of crota is legendary gally not middle ground
Fair enough. I was using the clusters as a similarity between the Gally and hunger of Crota. Tracking like the Truth, Clusters like the Gally. There's similarities. But no I get what you mean.
I think Tripod should be baked-in like Truth and tripod should be replaced with Grenades and Horseshoes. This would give Dragon's Breath a personality of its own: A heavy dumbfire launcher with an 'almost is good enough' blast radius that wouldn't require much in aiming. Then snapshot would immediately be useful over Javelin. I mean I love tracking, but in PvP I end up using truth's hipfire for that very same effect.
I wouldn't like the grenades and horseshoes upgrade because I can count numerous times where say a thrall ran next to me when I was firing at a much more dangerous target and of course... It killed me. But I saw someone get it in Iron Banner last night and he was very happy.
I got so lucky yesterday, I got a no land beyond from a legendary engram, then I got the raid Titan helmet, then I got a dragons breath from a night fall, then I did the raid again and got another dragons breath from the first raid chest!
Tmad99 Truths tracking, and large blast radius make it a serious threat in pvp. Unless you fail to get a lockon, or the missile happens to hit a world object, you are guaranteed a kill. While the same can be said for gjallarhorn, Truths large blast radius really make it a threat in control matches.
What would tracking swap out then? Because pyromancer is what makes the gun unique and the tripod is basically what makes up for not having tracking so in my opinion it's balanced out as an exotic
But that wouldn't make any sense? Everyone would choose the tracking for a free upgrade and then Bungie would have to take it out. Once they do that everyone would rage and then that would lose money for them to make different games cuz they cost a lot of money. So Dragons Breath is balanced the way it is. Tracking is kind of a complete waste because the rockets can hit objects in the way and you wont get any damage on the enemy if they are far enough.
BerserkFury89 Did you even read the last comment I put? The Tripod makes up for tracking because not all rockets need tracking. Tracking is for people that don't know how to aim. That's why most people use the Truth or Gjallahorn. Dragons Breath is balanced out evenly.
Your weapon reviews are the best that I have seen, because you give opinions, comparisions, etc. , not like for example DPJ that only reads the perks, and some crucible gameplay; you are the best :D

Dragons breath review : not gjallahorn.
thats the only thing that really matters hahaha xD

Hell yes
Kind of like the Torque explosive Nuke Rocket Launcher on borderlands 2! Still cool. I'll buy it for 17 coins.
GodofWarChuka I bought it cause Corrective Measure doesn't do enough damage quick enough on CE
Too much work for Bungie.
Your reviews are really helpful and in depth, you've gained a Subscriber

My entire group and a lot of people I have asked agree. It is pretty easy to see.

Michael Bush Yea they stay inside the spawn point but don't take damage. You can do it with vortex and solar grenades on the warlock.

I always thought this launcher was specifically made as a weapon to use against Crota's oversoul when the hard mode of the raid is released :p

I was lucky enough to get two randomly dropped, I think one was in Crucible. So now both my guardians have one =D
I think you should be able to guide the rocket manually by looking down the sight, that or juts max out the velocity to make it really unique.
Thank you sir from Planet Destiny!
Do Sunreakers work on the solar flare for this???
no
Thx
oh no! shooting solar grenades across the whole map and see them last longer would be such a great feature! =(
Love your picture i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/448/489/452.gif
MangaFreak775 thx bro! XD
I think a good idea would be to make the solar flare tracking, or possible to release a couple fusion grenades
The fact it looks like a p-40 war hawk I want it even more now
It would be cool if Sunsinger abilities could tie in with the warheads Solar Flared (Touch of Flame, Viking Funeral)
Funny thing is if the gun had tracking and the solar grenade stuck to targets more so it'd be more powerful than Ghally.
I wonder if sunbreakers will extend the duration of the pyromancer perk
The dragons breath description should be the old cruicible rocket laucher description. I forsee fire, fire and screams. You would mate your a rocket launcher
Damn, I never knew Dragon's Breath did that much damage, but then..... There's Gjallarhorn.
does it work with touch of flame/Viking funeral?
It would be nice in control when the base is being contested for
I feel like nobody at Bungie actually thought things through when they developed these weapons. Who is going to us the Heavy Payload perk? Who needs Stability?
This rocket launcher in combination with ruin wings (titan exotic gaunlets) will be amazing.
hey does anyone know if you wear sunsinger gauntlets, would it be possible that the solar flares of the DB will burn longer??thnx and grtzz
I love dragons breath. Without it I wouldn't have the exotic shard I needed to fully upgrade my gjallarhorn.
Just got it from the Crucible! First over rare quality drop for me ever in the Crucible. I don't even have the DLC!!!!
i like what bungie did with this launcher . the other two launchers were mainly used for end game bosses alon because of their amazing damage output the the ability to hit the target with ease but with this launcher they based it of , of the strategy of zone control therefore it can be used more often to hold of a place example a spawnpoint while you have some time to focus on the more serious matter at hand example : In the vault , if you have trouble with the pratorian you can block of the additional spawn of other enemies and focus on the prat.

Full TEXT review for the Exotic rocket launcher Dragon's Breath: planetdestiny.com/dragons-breath
Also sorry about the "hust of the pit" my internet went
Out for a while.
I can be contacted here:
(Xbox 360) GT: Dhg Billybbb123
looks pretty cool :)
Billy i love his stories
Does the pyromancer perk allow this weapon to put out the most damage over all other weapons?
The markings on it make me think of a P-51 mustang. I I think its cool how some of the back-blast from the rocket goes out the exhaust tubes at the side!
I've never used Truth or Gjallarhorn, so I'm not used to using tracking anyway.
You had a fistfight with a fallen captain. I like it.
You go really in death and you explain everything. You got a sub!
:D
much appreciated!
*depth
They have to make pyromancer effect last 10 seconds, and give it a damage boost. It seems the skill is on par with the Lock, solar flare, it should be no competition. Also, the appearance of the flare has to be changed.
I feel like they added the shark on the side as a nod to the old halo flame thrower
I'd say go with hunger of crota it's like a hezen vengeance with a target finder but with less bullets
do the warlock perks and buffs affect the solar flare?
What they should have done: Make it a standard 3 tube like how truth is and then add tracking as the first perk. I'm sure more people would use it then. I would.
Would this work well on Crota's shields?
Tracking doesn't really make weapon more deadly, it just makes easier to hit ^^
I'd be fine with this. My legendary rocket launcher, The Cure, has no tracking, but has the same 3 shell perk, and it is so helpful!!
They should make a rocket launcher that has like 5 shots per mag and has 15 shots total inventory, and has a very high fire rate, but each rocket doesn't do particularly high damage or have a high blast radius.
I know you came here because of xur
Lol, it's true
Yup
Mind reader?
Mhmm u caught me
How you know?
Fully upgraded it 😍
Got it from a legendary ENGRAM!! :D
super in depth review, really helpful. Thank you sir.
It feels like the dark below exotics are ww2 themed
This weapon should not be called dragons breath. It comes from the planes on the P-40's that General Claire Lee Chennault's pilots (the "Flying Tigers") flew in WWII in support of China vs. Japan. It is a Tiger shark design not a dragon.
The pyromancer perk thing doesn't work with sunbreakers:(
If this thing cant track and the fire ball dont move i think this gun is for enemies or bosses that dont move a lot
got it from the first chest on CE yesterday, its an amazing rocket launcer
and tbh since i have a maxed out Hunger of Crota which is like a legendery version of gjallahorn im not even sure if i need the gjallahorn atm!
Got if from Coat last night and was pretty happy cuz I dont have Truth or Gally yet.
Its pretty good.
this is the best review i have seen from PlanetDestiny good job!!
This was my reward from the treasure in poe level 28
I just got this from prison of elders and I like it
Imagine a Dragons Breaths with the Explosive Rounds that explote when the Rocket hits the ground, that would be OP! e.e
Great review. I have this one maxed and I fully agree with your review. Except I unfortunately don't have a Ghorn, so I can't compair.
The solar grenade should follow enemies until it runs out of time
What I want to know is will equipping sunbreakers effect the solar grenade it leaves.

I mean I love tracking, but in PvP I end up using truth's hipfire for that very same effect.
really insightful video keep it up
I hate that they wasted a perk slot for tripod when truth gets 3 just because I would LOVE proximity detonation on this thing it would be sooooo good
Was wondering if a Warlock's sunbreakers will have an effect on the Dragon's Breath?
Will it effect the solar grenade in anyway?
Nope
I got this weapon in a nightfall today, I don't have the DLC... Seems like a good in place launcher while I'm waiting for the g-horn
does anyone know the music at around 5:40 ?
I would sacrifice all my velocity for tracking
I really wish it had tracking... even with tracking if you don't ADS you can dumb-fire it that way.
So if I already have fully upgraded Hunger of Crota and Truth, I should probably pass?
stick with truth and pass
Oh and who wants to bet that the weekly is Sepiks Prime for next week with void burn.
I just got this in a Nightfall last night!!! Then I went looking for this review...that came out 15 minutes ago.
I wouldn't like the grenades and horseshoes upgrade because I can count numerous times where say a thrall ran next to me when I was firing at a much more dangerous target and of course... It killed me. But I saw someone get it in Iron Banner last night and he was very happy.
Tubes? Theyre exhaust pipes, its supposed to look like a ww2 fighter plane
I got so lucky yesterday, I got a no land beyond from a legendary engram, then I got the raid Titan helmet, then I got a dragons breath from a night fall, then I did the raid again and got another dragons breath from the first raid chest!
Dragon's Breath is the last heavy exotic I need but it may be a while until Xur sells it again and I was low on strange coins when he was selling it.
Keep Pumping Out These Useful Videos ^_^
Whats primary is he using here
Truth=PVP, Gjallahorn=Bosses, Dragon Breath=Mobs
I've got Truth and Gjallarhorn, I use Gjallarhorn everywhere but might consider Truth for PvP if you explain.
How long does the iron banner last, and is there a way to see progression of your iron banner rank?
It's gone
I just got this randomly while playing in the crucible today
I have truth and it is really good. But which one is better? Gjallarhorn Truth or Dragon's Breath?? HELP
Depends what you're doing. For PvP I'd go with Truth. For anything other than the Crucible, the Horn
Ok thank u for the help
I got this in the raid with you! I've upgraded it but im reluctant to use it due to the lack of tracking. An exotic launcher, NEEDS to have tracking.
What would tracking swap out then? Because pyromancer is what makes the gun unique and the tripod is basically what makes up for not having tracking so in my opinion it's balanced out as an exotic
I'd like a Tracking/Non-tracking option like the Murmur having Arc/Solar. That would make it feel like a real contender against Gjallahorn.
Flamingwolf Miller Could replace the 3 rocket tube with tracking. Or make it an option to chose between the two.
BerserkFury89 Did you even read the last comment I put? The Tripod makes up for tracking because not all rockets need tracking. Tracking is for people that don't know how to aim. That's why most people use the Truth or Gjallahorn. Dragons Breath is balanced out evenly.
When i chose my exotic i knew i dont get much hevy ammo so i picked patience and time but now i might change my mind
I got one from a legendary engram and I love it
