Great review Patrick! Too bad Necrochasm is what we all thought it was going to be. Hopefully the eventual buff gives larger mag size and 100% cursed thrall explosions. Or the explosion area damage is buffed to be better than firefly.
They should keep at low impact, high fire rate, larger mag size any where from 50-75, and make so doing damage has 100% cursed explosion unless the mag is like 100
Agreed! A mag of 55-70 would be ideal. Keeps it in line with Monte Carlo and Hard Light when they have Field Scout. 100% cursed thrall as well would make this gun amazing.
One thing that would make this thing beastly is getting a kill (any type) there is a 75% chance that would cause a explosion more powerful and bigger than firefly. That would really make it live up to the exotic tier. Also get field scout as a perk to make it at least 60 rounds. If I know bungie enough they will eventually get a buff for this weapon.
My buff for this thing: Explosion proc chance is 100%. Explosion size doubled. Explosion can cause chain reactions. Magazine size of at least 56+. Stability can be maxed out with a few changes to the current skills. Hive Disruptor in the skill tree. Base impact should match up with about where the range bar is, or even more. After all, this is the HARD MODE EXOTIC.
Totally agree. After everything I put into it.. I was expecting some monstrous weapon. Something that makes me feel badass like Ice Breaker. Very disappointing.
Bring this to the Forums ASAP. im Serious. This is pretty good. I don't think everything you said will be implemented but I would atleast like to se the DMG be increased to where the Range Bar is at and have Explosion chance at 100%
What if they added a reverse SGA advice perk where almost all bullets that hit are returned to the mag? That'd be prefect for this gun plus maybe a stability boost
It's not going to happend... Any boss would turn to a bullet sponge, and bigger ones like Valus Ta'Aurc would just melt with this weapon... They could make it like ANY shot that miss will 100% go back to the magazine, but that would just make people literally Spray&Play with this weapon in both PvE and PvP... What they could do is buff the explosion damage / blast radius and make it proc 100% of the times or make it proc with each kill with 50% / 70% chance. They also have to bump up the magazine to 70 or even higher to make it useful in PvP so that missed shots won't weigh on you too much... In summary, works need to be done with this weapon, but the archetype of high ROF low impact weapons isn't good to begin with...
So far, I have to say a few things hold this back: 1. Low Magazine. This cripples the weapon by forcing extra TTK via reload. 2. Slow and unreliable exotic perk. If it were to have a 100% chance of explosion on headshot, make the explosion happen sooner (IMO it isn't bugged- there's a lot of aesthetic material before the explosion) and have roughly 56 or 60 rounds in the mag, it would be... pretty good. I really think you should recommend the final barrel choice because the recoil pattern is straight up- the weapon's low accuracy is what forces it to be unreliable. As long as the weapon does not climb within its recoil pattern faster than you can correct it, there isn't a reason to go for less recoil. Pulse Rifles need high recoil to land a precision burst. Hand Cannons point towards the sky without recoil. Auto rifles generally have better recoil but worse accuracy.
So I'm going to continue to buy the DLC but whats the point of getting the Vex or Necro if the damage is going to stay the same? Eventually they'll just be obsolete right?
Would have to agree with you, I finally got the mythoclast, and I'm now hearing that it will not be brought up to 331, I'll max it out, but never use a shard to make it 323, it's a complete waste to do so (at least to me anyways), but I'm sure someone will disagree with me.
I lucked out and got Vex in back to back raids a couple weeks before Dark Below came out. It's hugely powerful in both PVE and PVP, even without being a 331 weapon. I've replaced my 331 Suros with the Vex for the most part. I'm pretty sure that moving forward, it will still have utility due to it's high impact and Solar burn damage. Also, the range can be increased with Send It perk - but at a huge hit to the magazine size, which in turn lowers your reserve ammo which is insanely low to start.
great review. Very in depth and exactly what I was looking for. a couple friends have this and since share play can be pretty bad and work occasionally, its nice to see each perk fully explained for its uses in both PvE and PvP. 5:50-10:10 explains all of this nicely. Thanks again and definitely subbed
owen west nope. Bungie confirmed a bug to where the drop rate is 0%. They said it will be patched in the next hot fix and have increased drop rates than before
In my opinion, this is what they should change. -Magazine increase to 60 -Impact increase to 5 -Have rangefinder be immediately accessible like cascade, and replace it with third eye or some other perk that fits with the theme of the weapon(such as third eye, croud control, or glass half full). This would make the weapon unique, but not over powered, as it would be the first weapon to have 2 immediate perks in the skill tree, but the perks are almost completely necessary for the gun, but take up space to improve the weapon to its proper extent. -Explosion on precision kill at 100% occurrence rate, and with a SLIGHTLY bigger explosion. -Change fitted stock to perfect balance. With perfect balance being basically fitted stock and a half, you could start adventuring into the aggressive ballistics perk instead of CQB Ballistics. -You could also throw in hive distributor or something, as it makes sense as a hive weapon that works against its old allies, however, this is not necessary to the weapon. -Also, I would not be opposed to having zen moment instead of the other choices for perks I stated above, but it could make the stability a little too good, and does not really fit with the theme of the weapon. -Finally, just a completely random idea I just thought of to make it better in PvE is to allow for the change of the damage type from solar, to arc, to void whenever you wanted. This could do very well in Nightfall strikes, and fits with the idea of the weapon "adjusting to what the guardian wants", as seen in Eidolon Ally's description, when you and the weapon "became friends". This also makes sense, as the weapon currently does arc damage, but shoots green bullets like the Thorn, which does not fit into any of the damage color categories(red for solar, blue for arc, and purple for void), so it could be seen as a combination of all of them, instead of just one. I feel that these changes make the weapon a little too good in PvE, but still not over powered in PvP, and I definitely believe that the gun should be amazing considering the quest you have to do to get it is one of the hardest, if not the single hardest, to do in the game, as you have to complete the raid on hard mode just like for the Vex, but you have even more steps to complete beforehand, and there is a very slim chance to get the Crux of Cota even when those steps are completed. The people working on Destiny should make some serious changes to this weapon, considering how underwhelming it is now. What do you guys think? Please comment and tell me your opinion.
I have a feeling Bungie is doing the opposite with this gun than they did with with the vex. Vex is OP: Big nerf Nechrocasm sucks: Big buff I think they are just being passive with this gun just to make sure it's not too OP like the vex was. You guys say it's not worth it now, but mark my words, it's gonna be buffed BIG time! Any thoughts?
Agreed, like maybe they update the fun to have explosive impact rounds and make the precision explosions 100%, along with an increased magazine size , that would make the gun worthwhile
I would like to see it be op as crap then be a showpiece and useless. I would like to see a mag size buff to 100 first off, second add like 20-30 on stability, third make a outlaw/"cursebringer" aka firefly/crowd control perk mix where when you get precision kills you get damage buff of 25%, reload buff of 50% and 100% chance of a 200% firefly explosion. This may be a bit much but let me know your thoughts. All I can say is I can't even bring myself to upgrade Edlion Ally and Do Crota hard at least 2x for this POS.
Okay, let's hypothesize that Bungie eventually restores some Auto Rifles to their previous status (i.e. all the bullet hose ARs, Hard Light, Monte Carlo and a myriad of Legendary quality weapons) in 1.2.2 or something. Necrochasm deserves the following: - Cursebringer becomes a guaranteed supplemental effect and has time delay halved - Base impact is increased to four, with supplemental boosts from Aggro-Ballistics - Base range is increased to 25 (27.5 w/Rangefinder) - Magazine size increased by 33% to 56
+Kippy Yoshi Exactly, it'll still be awful even with the buff. My mate got extremely excited when he got a husk of the pit (even though I got mine ages ago before the drop patch) and I told him it was absolutely useless and he replied with "oh it'll be good when it's buffed" no it won't... The mag and rate of fire will still ruin this gun to pieces and it's not being taken into year 2 so it'll be even more than useless, it will barely tickle people in the PvE let alone PvP. Don't waste your time with this
One thing I do as a Hunter to speed up reload times is use Chain of Woe along with the Iron Regalia Sleeves. It buffs the reload crazy good. So the fact that the mag empties so fast doesn't bother me as much. If you're able to activate the cascade perk, that makes it even faster. As long as you keep getting precision kills for the CoW, you're golden.
Now what I find that helps with the high fire rate auto rifles is burst firing just taping the trigger on the controller it helps to get more precision shots at least as far as I have tried.
I found that the aggressive ballistics was the best. Recoil went upwards rather than side to side. It felt like less recoil using aggressive than cqb alonside the stability bonus by fitted stock. Maybe re test that. Its actually a pretty good weapon if you use aggressive ballistics. All its needs is a bigger magazine
i just got the necro. it really shines in this weeks nightfall. its fun to use, especially when you kill a swarm of enimies with that cursed thrall perk, giving the hive a taste of there own medicine.
This buff would turn it from UP to OP: Cursebringer: Kills trigger a cursed thrall explosion. Enemies killed by the explosion will trigger another exact same explosion
so very wrong. These steps are so very wrong. You don't need any prerequisites. You just need to have beaten hard crota once before. Also don't use CQB ballistyx. Max your impact and use aggressive ballistyx
Mythoclast, remember that time that we raped everyone in Iron Banner without giving a shit about any of the hate mail we got? Ah, good times. Don't worry, you won't be replaced that easy!
Very nice review. Just got husk of the pit dropped the other day... I'll get to upgraded one but I'm not to thrilled with the necrochasm. Thanks for the heads up!
I don't know if this would make a difference, but necrochasm is actually good in some time of way. In some instances, it can take down a enemies shield rather fast than most auto rifles. Not I big difference, but thought I should mention it.
My buff for it: Add on to cursebringer by each precision kill fills up the mag and adds super energy (like bad juju). But keep everything else the same!
I just always used to use husk of the pit... So I'm good with the particular type of gun and familiar on how to use it... So... When I get this (still on the husk of the pit. Got 2 now. Promised to give one to my friend if trading kicks in) I will happily use it without complaining...
Thoughts of balancing the necrochasm -Higher stability so it has little to no recoil but would be balanced since it has low impact -Make cursebringer more frequent and a little bit bigger blast radius -Add hive disruptor, it is a raid weapon!
You guys have one of the best pages for Destiny info around. I got the Necro today and am pretty disappointed with it I really expected more for how much work you have to put in to get it. I don't see myself using this very much
How to make Necrochasm like it was meant to be: Either: 1.) Change second tier perks to Field Scout, Perfect Balance, Hammer Forged. All of these are viable options for the weapon, and offer a variety of play styles. 2.) Increase the impact. Change it so you can take out at least 3-4 people with 1 mag, 4 being if you're lucky. 3.) Make Cursebringer OP. Make each explosion 100% chance and have insane killing potential, and those killed with the explosions cause more explosions. How to make Necrochasm OP: 4.) Do all of the above.
Good buff... Slight buff to impact (to maybe 8) Replace cascade with flared magwell. Explosions have 50/50 chance of occurring regardless of whether it was with a headshot or body shot. 2nd skill tree: hammer forged, high calibre rounds, perfect balance.
I strongly recommend Up For Anything as a substitute for this weapon. If you get perfect balance and Glass Half Full on that bastard, it's A+ tier weaponry, bordering into low S tier. If you get it with sureshot IS, it's very low S tier, and can go toe-to-toe with the suros regime in pvp, especially if you're accurate with your shooting. It has almost no recoil with perfect balance, with absolutely no side-to-side recoil. Headshots you're looking at 34 damage with a headshot, 56 with half your mag empty. it runs a train on most teams - its downside is it's reload. It has a 3 second reload with no way at all, beyond armour, of increasing it. *assuming you have the optimal add-ons for it* 1v1, you win 75% of matches you go up against. Shotguns and exotics are really the only chance people have against you. 1v2, you win about 50%, maybe just over. Add in both people using exotics and it's more like 35%. Basically, it does everything good about Necrochasm with fuck all negatives.
I can confirm that the supposed requirement to complete hard mode first is a myth. This week I completed Crota from start to finish on all 3 of my characters on normal difficulty, then a mate had a Crota hard checkpoint which I jumped in on and I was one of 2 players in the group to get the Crux.
I would slow down the fire rate allot and then increase the impact, make the cursed thrall explosion perk exactly like it should be and the Nechrochasm would be worth it...
I wouldve wanted more from the cursebringer perk. You know what would be a perfect perk for this weapon? Somethng similar to string of curses. Reloads the gun instantly to extend the mag size, without drawing reserve ammo, increase damage for a short time, but no extra super energy for each kill
An idea fo necrochasms demage problem: For every headshot you land, you deal one demage over time to your enemy, just like with Thorn. But with necrochasm this demage over time stacks up. For instance, if you hit your 42 headshots, you target will take 42 demage over time. The demage build up could also lose one ooint of demage every second, but it first ends when the demage has come to zero, and like that you could get increadible high demage over time on stronger enemies. It would also fit together with thorn, since that weapon also is hive themed.
Congrats guardians, you got the vex by beating hard mode atheon and you have the necrochasm for beating hard mode crota and getting the crux....however we at Bungie studies feel that we should keep these weapons frozen in time and never be able to upgrade since we know all of you will buy are new DLCs and grind for new weapons that we plan to do the same exact thing too. From all of us a Bungie, Keep buying and grinding Guardians -Deej
I just got necrochasm and I use aggressive and I can control the recoil just fine. I love this gun does it need a buff in something yes, preferably in the impact category. I would love to see this gun be the only super high fire rate with a pretty decent impact on it, but who knows if that would be too big of a buff
Buff the magazine to about 54+. Improve cursed thrall explosion damage and size. Slight boost to reload. Then give it maybe a touch more impact maybe something like 3 or 4. I think it would be a great weapon after that
Hey for anyone who was wondering you don't have to beat it only on hard, because I just went through the Crota's End on normal trying to get the Black Hammer and then did Crota's End on hard to help some friends and got the Crux of Crota. Also I didn't have the Glow Woo shader on that character yet.
I had no idea that the hardmode guns (Mythoclast and Necro) didn't scale.... I was so pumped for this gun! I absolutely loved the Husk when I first tried it, and I was only dissuaded by the fact that I needed better guns as I leveled. When I heard it became a Legendary, I was instantly googling whatever it was... only to be met with the Eidolon Ally and the fact that it's damage is hurt thanks to the "Crux of Crota" taking up an upgrad slot.... Still, didn't give up hope until now. I was excited for the Necropchasm, sooooo excited... and now I know that it is not usable throughout my Destiny experience, is lack luster, and is not worth the amount of work needed... I'm genuinely sad.
I'd like to mention that exotic doesn't mean being overpowered or favoring the wielder in significant and notable ways, rather; exotics are foreign, new, and an alternative to regular guns and armor. Thus, Necrochasm and other deemed "crappy" exotics should be welcomed to the exotic tree with equality for their absurdness. Exotics are the pure reason exotics seldom resemble another nor a regular gun. So be thankful that Bungie added variety, especially with House Of Wolves' re-rolling.
Honestly I think this weapon is actually good I use aggressive ballistics on it and with the slight dmg boost I don't have to worry about my clip as much and as he mention the rangefinder perk makes it effective in mid range gun fights
I have the Necrochasm and if you look closely at the weapon in your inventory the box around it is white. This is interesting since every weapon that is fully levelled up, the box surrounding the weapon turns yellow. I wonder if the weapon can still be levelled up to make the box yellow...
I've seen someone on rumble who was very skilled with this weapon. Most of the time, me & other players have been mostly used auto rifles and shotguns but he used a sniper and the nacrocasm. My goodness, he had a lot of precision kills with it. He did very well with it so I'm not so certain it sucks that bad. If in the right hands, it can be lethal in pvp.
I just got mine today, after beating Crota's End hard for the second time. First time, I got the shader and hand cannon. This time, I got the crux and another hand cannon. I know that I got extremely lucky in that aspect (I also had a fully upgraded Husk of the Pit ready to go, and four more to level up), but I was honestly more sad that I didn't get the scout rifle than I was happy to get the crux. I'm not a fan of high RoF auto rifles in general, and this one is the peak of that archetype. I guess I'll just have to wait until they buff it. At least it came out of the box fully upgraded, so I didn't waste any materials or anything.
Jonathan Parker CQB puts the impact to 1! That is an extremely low impact! I don't have necrochasm yet, but I have Eidolon ally (Has the same stats) And what I saw was CQB ballistics needed a mag, and little from the second mag,to kill a servitor. But again, I have Eidolon ally, not Necrochasm. But aggressive ballistics puts the impact to 3, and that's the game changer. With aggressive ballistics, I can kill a dreg with 5-3 bullets! And a servitor with only a mag! You might have less stability, but it's worth it.
I never wanted to use this POS. But I just got a crux last week, and after seeing that you can do the infinite heavy ammo glitch by upgrading to Necrochasm, I thought I might as well. That's the only thing it's good for! Well, maybe arc nightalls too, but I'll take infinite heavy over it :p
at least with the eidolon ally i find aggressive ballistics very worth while since the recoil goes straight up, with the 15 head shots u can easily out damage other auto rifles
If they increase the mag, the range (Just a little), the stability, and the impact, I say this gun is good. EDIT: Don't use CQB! It's the reason people hate it. Use Aggressive ballistics. TRUST ME!
I wonder how the Destiny crowd would react to the FN P90 that you get in Battlefield? 50 shot mag, 1500 rounds per minute, 5 shots to kill, 1 if to the head. The only downside is range which reduces lethality. It still hits, but you need more to kill. Buzzsaw of death.
Since this is an exotic weapon after all , I would say give this weapon a mag of 80-90 rounds. Yes that is very large, but for this type of weapon just a dash bit higher than what other weapons can have that are availible in the game with an impact of 4 alternativly an Impact between 5-7 points if the magazine size won't be increased as suggested. If those ideas won't work , then give this weapon a similar or even the same effect to what bad juju has as it's main ability. to refill it's mag after a kill. that would change alot in this weapon. Reload time wouldn't matter too much anymore as a kill=skipping reloading, the damage might not be a big issue as it did look like you can kill relativly fast with this weapon and even the impact wouldn't be big matter. my last suggestion would be to add to the cursebringer an effect that allows you to shoot at the shields of your enemies and it won't take any ammo from your magazine. basicly taking down a shield with a temporary infinite magazine. that could be good.
I love the Eidolon Ally, and can't wait to get Necrochasm. I actually can consistently get lots of kills with it. I am a little bias though, as I use these weapons constantly.
Sadly your Review is spot on I personally really like this type of weapon and typically use Nechrochasm with the last barrel and speed reload because I am quite good at controlling the recoil but the weapon itself needs a buff like more impact for it's magazine size or a bigger magazine size, 100% for it's Exotic ability because although the explosion is powerful it isn't too easy to get a critical kill, along with what it says on the Grimoire "The result was a weapon that would feed on its owner’s aggression-reaching further when angry eyes drew focus, its hunger rising as it tore through bone and flesh." that makes me think it should increase in damage with every bullet as long as you don't release the trigger.
This is really unnerving. You'd think the devs would reward players who have invested so much time into a single weapon by making the end result a beast. But it looks like they went with "Hey, we know you spent more time getting this weapon than any other, so here's your reward... something totally not worth the effort! Enjoy!" I was really hoping for more from this exotic, because I do prefer running with auto rifles. Unfortunate... oh well.
This was actually a very fair and honest review. I have the necrochasm myself and the only reason I really wanted it was to earn the grimoire card. I don't use it at all. Fatebringer is just a stronger gun in every sense.
Cut the rate of fire and give it all to impact. I'd be in heaven. Good review, maybe I'll stash mine in the vault hoping for the buff that will never come, or come too late
Help! Is it still possible to get the husk of the pit? Ive been trying for like 4 hours. Before i continue i would like to know if its still even possible. Please help!
I would equip the impact increase perk and live with the recoil, use "cadance firing" as you do with fast firing guns in COD or Battlefield, i.e. Instead of holding down the finger to fire, use multiple fast squirts like it's a pulse rifle.
Great review man. Like hard light in sure I could find use in this weapon pvp. I set the impact high as possible and just get use to it. Like u said seasoned users of the weapon lol that's me. Not yet but once I get it yes I will get it with this gun
Christos Gkortzis: Year 1 of destiny had garbage attack and defense stat numbers. Vanilla destiny had a max stat of 300, DB went to 331, and HoW had 350 (around that, i cant remember). Once year 2 started, Bungie tuned the armour defense numbers (which was just all over the place) and with that, tuned the weapon numbers to be exact to the armour. Vanilla gear is NOW around 110-170 light, DB gear is around 130-170, and HoW is at 150-170
Hey, do you know what the name of the song is in the end of this video, where you describe the pros and cons? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video and I didnt notice or something. :b Nice review btw
Nice video and I got the husk of the pit from my warlock, I am currently a hunter. I have gotten a considerable amount of kills in crucible with husk of the pit. If you know how to use a gun like that you will be fine. Using the husk of the pit is like using a Sahara-AR3, (excuse me if I spelled that wrong.) The husk of the pit is a Sahara just with a different look and lower ammo in clip.

★★★ You DON'T need to skip normal mode! ★★★
Love the reviews
I did the normal mode and then hard and got the crux of crota drop. My gamer tag is Ninja_boy44 on ps3. I'm an awoken female hunter.
Tommy Grimaldi are you a good sword bearer could use your help tomorrow we all have ghorns
i did normal first and then completed it on hard and the crux dropped for me as well.
I like weapons like this so I am excited
Great review Patrick! Too bad Necrochasm is what we all thought it was going to be. Hopefully the eventual buff gives larger mag size and 100% cursed thrall explosions. Or the explosion area damage is buffed to be better than firefly.
Hey Teft!
They should keep at low impact, high fire rate, larger mag size any where from 50-75, and make so doing damage has 100% cursed explosion unless the mag is like 100
PTP Frame drops are the reason its not 100%
Agreed! A mag of 55-70 would be ideal. Keeps it in line with Monte Carlo and Hard Light when they have Field Scout. 100% cursed thrall as well would make this gun amazing.

Please take this to the forums lol.
this is crazy, this gun just came out, it already needs to be tweaked. Why can't they test this shitty weapon before releasing it?
Bring this to the Forums ASAP. im Serious. This is pretty good. I don't think everything you said will be implemented but I would atleast like to se the DMG be increased to where the Range Bar is at and have Explosion chance at 100%
bearguy20 Shouldn't the rarest and hardest to get weapons be somewhat op though?
I don't know why this was recommended now but good memories
What if they added a reverse SGA advice perk where almost all bullets that hit are returned to the mag? That'd be prefect for this gun plus maybe a stability boost
Holy shit that would certainly rival the vex!!
Couldn't agree with you more
have you ever heard of bad juju?
MrPinoshow its low impact + bad stability would balance it good luck hitting them from a range
im glad someone finally took the time to compare and contrast the weapons ballistics in short mini clips much respect !
Who's watching because of nostalgia?
+Strelok And Hopefully Necrochasm resurfaces, it needs a new review. This one is so terribly outdated.
+PlanetDestiny Its actually very solid are useable in pvp after 2.0 a new review is def needed my go to primary in CD
+PlanetDestiny I just got it today and maxed it out to 170 attack it's kind of useful in certain situations.
Yeee
Came back here after Crota’s end n necrochasm will be returning.. ahh how the time flies
I hope house of wolves has better exotics than the dark below I mean fucking no land beyond, 4th horseman, nechrocasm and dragons breath are all shit
I love dragons breath just cause it hits like a truck and the blast radios
Honestly, i realy loved the 4th horseman
I agree ninja. Worst exotics in the game all came from the Dark Below :/
Looking at the stats of the House of Wolves dlc weapons, I hate to disappoint you, is going to be just as bad maybe somewhat better than Dark Below
they're fun, but not practical or good
So far, I have to say a few things hold this back:
Once the damage drops then it's really only nice for completionists haha
Well the vex is a beast in normal PvP.
+ 10 attack is nothing , vex is still superior on the battlefield, unless long range is involved
So basically it's like Monte Carlo. It looks and sounds amazing, but in the end it's a piece of junk that causes next to no damage.
Mmkhay
Monte Carlo better imo
Hard light is better
xOGzZ11 any gun is better
Lol are you serious? Monte Carlo is a machine after the buff a while ago. I use it on pvp and it shreds people, has also much higher impact
Necrochasm is the best low impact high rate of fire auto rifle. But that doesn't really say much...
Thanks, I just got two husk of the pit and didn't know if they were worth spending time with...your video answered that question.
Can you still get the husk of the pit from the fist of crota mission or no
Diego Ortiz 1% drop rate... i got 1,500 kills and not one drop so good luck to you
There is a bug that prevents it from dropping in that mission for now, someone at Bungie confirmed it.
You cannot get it now because of a bug. But with the next hotfix you can get it again with a higher drop chance
owen west nope. Bungie confirmed a bug to where the drop rate is 0%. They said it will be patched in the next hot fix and have increased drop rates than before
I got it yesterday after 4 attempts
In my opinion, this is what they should change.
-Magazine increase to 60
-Impact increase to 5
-Have rangefinder be immediately accessible like cascade, and replace it with third eye or some other perk that fits with the theme of the weapon(such as third eye, croud control, or glass half full).
Are we all just going to ignore the visual seizure at 5:59?
Oh the good ol'days. Also insane that Patrick is/was working at Bungie as of a few months. He really did do great reviews.
Really? What does he do at bungie?
@@EyehatePersona5 fr need to know
He's been working at Bungie on and off for a couple years. His current position is Associate AI Designer.
and l thought this weapon was supposed to be the Vex 2.0, an OP rifle worth playing for
That Vandal was like "S'up bro, wicked looking gun."
I have a feeling Bungie is doing the opposite with this gun than they did with with the vex. Vex is OP: Big nerf
Nechrocasm sucks: Big buff
I think they are just being passive with this gun just to make sure it's not too OP like the vex was.
Jon Michels sorry for brutally butchering Eidolon
Highly Agreed.
I think you're right because in all honesty too many people are saying that the necrochasm sucks. I think it will receive a buff soon enough.
Okay, let's hypothesize that Bungie eventually restores some Auto Rifles to their previous status (i.e. all the bullet hose ARs, Hard Light, Monte Carlo and a myriad of Legendary quality weapons) in 1.2.2 or something.
Necrochasm deserves the following:
- Cursebringer becomes a guaranteed supplemental effect and has time delay halved
- Base impact is increased to four, with supplemental boosts from Aggro-Ballistics
- Base range is increased to 25 (27.5 w/Rangefinder)
- Magazine size increased by 33% to 56
Can't wait for the new necrochasim
Me too
Did it get patched?
***** gonna be buffed next month
Bro you're drunk 😂 you don't want it even with the buff the gun will still be weaker then a black mans pull out game
Very disappointing, bungie continuously letting their fans down.. WHY?!
Well at least you don't have to buy micro-DLCs just to get all the good stuff, like GTA V.
Hi nKuch! :)
itsashotgunbaby _ But you don't buy gta v dlc. It's all free.
Derpy Hooves
I meant the Cash Cards, idiot.
You gave absolutely no indication that you were talking about the shark cards, dumbass. You said micro DLC, what the fuck does that mean.
Now what I find that helps with the high fire rate auto rifles is burst firing just taping the trigger on the controller it helps to get more precision shots at least as far as I have tried.
So let's pretend this gun never existed and let's look for the house of wolves one
Ok dumb question but why are all the old planet destiny videos titled planet destiny
People say their account got hacked or someting
i just got the necro. it really shines in this weeks nightfall. its fun to use, especially when you kill a swarm of enimies with that cursed thrall perk, giving the hive a taste of there own medicine.
It looks just like murmur
Basically
yup... the sight is slightly different.
The sight it different so its a totally different gun- bungie logic
Big old throwback video right here.
Why the hell are all his old vids named planetdestiny?? It's really annoying
I think his channel got hacked and why won't you sell a telesto at 335
This buff would turn it from UP to OP: Cursebringer: Kills trigger a cursed thrall explosion. Enemies killed by the explosion will trigger another exact same explosion
so very wrong. These steps are so very wrong.
You don't need any prerequisites. You just need to have beaten hard crota once before.
Also don't use CQB ballistyx. Max your impact and use aggressive ballistyx
Jack K Indeed, this video is many months old. You'll notice there's an annotation at the beginning which addresses this (also in the description).
PlanetDestiny I just got the crux from doing the raid for my third time , are the odds pretty small on that?
Fingers Blaine I got mine today after completing the raid over 50+ times
I guess it's safe to say the Hive should never make weapons based on human ones.
worst exotic in the game? Right in front of no land beyond!
The universal remote is a thing...
Universal remote is good for me in pvp
CaptainMunchkins Double. Shotgun. (Uni Remote & Whatever other shotgun is good thats not an Exotic)
CaptainMunchkins
I know you commented before the patch, but UR is great in the pa- Darn it!
No land beyond, universal remote and hawkmoon are the only primary weapons that can one-shot you in crucible, that is why i use the NLB.
I would of taken that slam dunk section out! He came outta no where!
Sucks.
Mythoclast, remember that time that we raped everyone in Iron Banner without giving a shit about any of the hate mail we got? Ah, good times. Don't worry, you won't be replaced that easy!
ThunderStorm Ah, the hate mail, I loved those times.
My brother from another mother. Oh shit we aren't even related!
***** Brother...
Universal Remote WTF, it's my twin brother how the fuck did you find me!?
Thoughts of balancing the necrochasm
-Higher stability so it has little to no recoil but would be balanced since it has low impact
-Make cursebringer more frequent and a little bit bigger blast radius
-Add hive disruptor, it is a raid weapon!
You guys have one of the best pages for Destiny info around. I got the Necro today and am pretty disappointed with it I really expected more for how much work you have to put in to get it. I don't see myself using this very much
its also has a low magazine because they want you to upgrade the impact not the stability, that's why it has a low ammo cap
How to make Necrochasm like it was meant to be:
Either:
1.) Change second tier perks to Field Scout, Perfect Balance, Hammer Forged.
How to make Necrochasm OP:
4.) Do all of the above.
Good buff...
Slight buff to impact (to maybe 8)
Replace cascade with flared magwell.
Explosions have 50/50 chance of occurring regardless of whether it was with a headshot or body shot.
2nd skill tree: hammer forged, high calibre rounds, perfect balance.
only 5 days too see the new necrochasm in action HYPE
*assuming you have the optimal add-ons for it*
1v1, you win 75% of matches you go up against. Shotguns and exotics are really the only chance people have against you.
1v2, you win about 50%, maybe just over. Add in both people using exotics and it's more like 35%.
Basically, it does everything good about Necrochasm with fuck all negatives.
What would be better, larger mag or even more stability
Well then, let's put the necrochasm inside the vault. Hopefully this exotic will be friends with the no land beyond.
I can confirm that the supposed requirement to complete hard mode first is a myth. This week I completed Crota from start to finish on all 3 of my characters on normal difficulty, then a mate had a Crota hard checkpoint which I jumped in on and I was one of 2 players in the group to get the Crux.
Yep there's an annotation about it
I would slow down the fire rate allot and then increase the impact, make the cursed thrall explosion perk exactly like it should be and the Nechrochasm would be worth it...
watching this in 2016 just for nostalgia
Got this today. Love using this gun. Not something I will use all the time. It is something that I would use in close quarters fights though.
The difference between curse bringer and firefly is that firefly scales with your impact, curse bringer deals the way more damage for the impact.
I wouldve wanted more from the cursebringer perk. You know what would be a perfect perk for this weapon? Somethng similar to string of curses. Reloads the gun instantly to extend the mag size, without drawing reserve ammo, increase damage for a short time, but no extra super energy for each kill
An idea fo necrochasms demage problem:
For every headshot you land, you deal one demage over time to your enemy, just like with Thorn.
From all of us a Bungie,
Keep buying and grinding Guardians
-Deej
I just got necrochasm and I use aggressive and I can control the recoil just fine. I love this gun does it need a buff in something yes, preferably in the impact category. I would love to see this gun be the only super high fire rate with a pretty decent impact on it, but who knows if that would be too big of a buff
I own it and personally i really like it, it sucks if you hold the trigger down but it's pretty decent if you use short controlled bursts.
Why was i recommended this 6 years later. Not mad
Buff the magazine to about 54+. Improve cursed thrall explosion damage and size. Slight boost to reload. Then give it maybe a touch more impact maybe something like 3 or 4. I think it would be a great weapon after that
A clip of 80 and making the curse bringer from persision kill to all kills would make it worth the grind
Hey for anyone who was wondering you don't have to beat it only on hard, because I just went through the Crota's End on normal trying to get the Black Hammer and then did Crota's End on hard to help some friends and got the Crux of Crota. Also I didn't have the Glow Woo shader on that character yet.
For who ever was wondering or doesn't know how to read description.
I'd be happy to send you some footage of how kickass this weapon is
I'd like to see a bigger mag size and instead of that exploding perk have something like focused fire and have the impact raised to 4
I just got mine today, after beating Crota's End hard for the second time.
Don't use CQB, it's the reason why it's so bad.
***** Why is that? It just makes the stability better.
***** I guess the indicator was so small that I didn't notice that it was reducing the impact. Thanks for that, I'll test it out on Necro.
How do you guys always bit sniper shots on the move with the massive bloom while strafing?
Hit*
If they increase the mag, the range (Just a little), the stability, and the impact, I say this gun is good.
EDIT: Don't use CQB! It's the reason people hate it. Use Aggressive ballistics. TRUST ME!
I actually did Crota normal before hard and still got the crux of Crota.
optimusp517 Yep, there's an annotation about it, it's also in the description
Thanks for the review Patrick.
Enjoy!"
I was really hoping for more from this exotic, because I do prefer running with auto rifles. Unfortunate... oh well.
I know another quest like this, *coughs*Urn of Sacrafice*coughs*
This was actually a very fair and honest review. I have the necrochasm myself and the only reason I really wanted it was to earn the grimoire card. I don't use it at all. Fatebringer is just a stronger gun in every sense.
not sure if this has been said but, you dont have to skip normal. i just obtained it after completing normal first.
naruto000rasengan There's an annotation about it, it's also in the description
ah ignore my comment then. sorry !
naruto000rasengan It's OK, I assume you were on mobile?
Yet another weapon destined to be lost in the vault to gather dust. Thanks Bungie.
This weapon needs an impact boost. No question. Vex is OP, this thing should be too.
They need to buff curse-bringer to have a larger range and do more damage. It would be pretty useful seeing as the damage should count as arc.
You were right. It's getting a hell of a buff.
I guarantee we can expect MAJOR buffs to Necrochasm and No land beyond in the future
This weapon needs big buff like a bit more Impact and/or make the cursethrall explosion a bigger and stronger radius
Not yet but once I get it yes I will get it with this gun
how did u infuse it to 339 lights?
Christos Gkortzis: Year 1 of destiny had garbage attack and defense stat numbers. Vanilla destiny had a max stat of 300, DB went to 331, and HoW had 350 (around that, i cant remember). Once year 2 started, Bungie tuned the armour defense numbers (which was just all over the place) and with that, tuned the weapon numbers to be exact to the armour. Vanilla gear is NOW around 110-170 light, DB gear is around 130-170, and HoW is at 150-170
Piekace thank u very much
Hey, do you know what the name of the song is in the end of this video, where you describe the pros and cons? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video and I didnt notice or something. :b Nice review btw
Hero Theme bk MK2
PlanetDestiny Thanks!
