I thought I read somewhere that tornado spawns were based on distance traveled. Sprint Tornado + Charge was basically and instant tornado in the middle of a pack.
@JasonferWoW get closer to 2k loh and spam sprint. Its not the hurricane that keeps you alive, its the sprint tornadoes. Hurricane has diminishing returns on loh. Its really used just to keep wotb up with battle cry.
You need lot of critical hit chance to make ut works, at least 35% (including passives). And btw, you can hit mobs! If your rage is below 5, try to use Whirlwind on a monster, and it'll do a basic attack instead. If you crit, you'll get about 18 Fury and may be able to sprint. Alos, check the updated build if you didn't, I use Leap instead of Ignore Pain now, Helps a lot with fury generation.
rage will stabilize at around 30% or more crit, and at that point you can WW/ or WOTB/TOC as long as you have stuff to hit as a fury dump. would recommend 1000 LOH min, as well as a mighty weapon/ mace/axe if feasible. works well in act 2 also, just workin on a couple more upgrades to get my resists 800ish so i can farm effectivly. also, Bash/instigate is probably the fastest way i found to "ramp up" your rage in case you stall or are starting a pull. 2 or 3 hits and your off and running.
In part and with a lot of help from bnet forums, yeah. Someone else found the Battle Rage + Sprint combo (fury generation) and used it to make a sprinting build where he ran away from enemies and they'd die from the tornadoes while running after him (He couldn't tank anything) I took that and tried adding WW (bc it doesn't stop Sprint), WotB (bc it could be infinite) and some defensive skills + LoH, to try and remove the need for running away. It turned out working way better than I imagined. ^^
and what happens if, for instance, you get jailed before you can close the distance to get enough rage to activate berserker? overpower can't be up all the time.
can you explain how to put sprint on right click and how you have ignore pain and sprint which are both defensive abilities. sorry if this is a stupid question
i don't understand how to generate the initial fury. In your video at the fight with the butcher your fury is low, then you cast battle rage and you fury increase a lot!? How can this be possible, at the very beginning at the match? Thanks for the response
how are you replacing bash with overpower when you cannot rebind mouse 1 and mouse 2 even with elective mode selected. It would make whirlwind mouse 1 and you would not be able to generate fury to even use sprint. please explain?
Not gonna dis this build, im sure its quite affective for those that are having problems with inferno, just not for me, its nice to see some1 posting a different build to help others out
It crits about twice per second per enemy, so even if it's only 600 life each time, it can make a nice heal per second with several enemies. I don't like Hurricane since I feel like being slower actually helps me placing the Sprint tornadoes closer together, and for Wind Shear I think I generate enough fury already. Volcanic Eruption could be nice though.
changed the ability to recover fury? I used the combination and when use the tornado just hit enemies no matter how critical and it retrieves only 15 of fury, sometimes rises about 10 critics and recovers only about 30 of rage, hug
I can't get the tornados to come out while doing whirlwind. I've tried several times, and every once and a great while one tornado mabey will come out while doing whirlwind. Perhaps it is because I have it on a key instead of the mouse. Is there some timing or rapid activation involved?
Yeah ^^. Ignore Pain was nice but the cooldown is way too big, quickly switched to Leap cause it was 4s/10s cd and almost the same damage reduction. Gave Overpower a try a few days ago and I didn't think it would work like that from the description, it's pretty amazing, probably gonna stya like that for a while. (PS Overpower reduce incoming damage by 30%, is on all the time if you crit enough, and trigger the LoH when it reflect damage. Plagued/Molten/Desecrator actually HEAL me with OP on)
Leap gives fury too. Well, I don't use it anymore so it's a bit more complicated now. I can either : Do 2 basic attacks (left click will do that when you don't have enough fury for WW) before using War Cry, then I can start the combo. Get hit by an enemy twice to get the missing 10 fury. Do one basic attack with Batte Rage on, if it crits, +20 fury, Sprint. Wait for War Cry. Stand in a Desecrator,... pool with Overpower on. And probably a few other ways I can't remember right now.
I've been doing this, but I have major problems with certain mobs. Especially ones that run away constantly like goat spearmen or the resurrecting shaman guys. Is there something specific you do vs mobs like this?
Been dying to try this out, but how do you exactly generate the initial Fury needed? And what acceptable amount of initial Fury is needed before you start the fun? What order of skills do you use to get the Spinning Death Machine going? War Cry then Battle Rage then Run Like the Wind then WotB then Whirlwind? And how do you manage the movement? I tend to end doing the Whirlwind when I don't want to yet trying to sprint through enemies.
Build looks very awesome, but i simply cant make it work, i am not generating enough rage, and when war cry is on cd and i have no rage, i cant even auto hit minions to get more rage for sprint?
How is it you don't need bash? What takes its place as the primary fury generator? I know that war cry gives you 30, but that isn't enough to pull both sprint and rage... so how is it the combo begins in the first place without bash?
Any advice trying this in hell mode? There's not a lot of life on hit at lvl 52 my only problem is surviving purple and yellow mobs ? I have some resist but it isn't much

I use Leap now (see description) and the cooldown is very short, so I basically never run out of fury anymore. It's fine against running champions (run so they get close together, leap in and damage) but elite (yellow) running away are very hard to kill, yeah. I can kill goblins in act 1&2 but not 3&4.
can you explain me something? suppose i have 0 fury, i use the warcry and i have 30, then i use battle rage which coests 20 fury. So here i am with 10 left fury and dont know how to generate the next 10 so i can open sprint and start the fight

I ran across another barbarians build and saw him dual wielding and he said it was just as viable if not more so than sword and board, I was wondering your view on this. Also! I wanted to know if you thought that Blade of the Warlord was a great weapon for this build if it had crit dmg and decent LoH on it. Also, about what should my health/dps ratio be? Right now im sitting at 60k hp with like 6k dps. Thanks ahead of time!
Make sure you have 40% crit chance or more (when buffed, so only 12% from items). Make sure Battle Rage is (always) on, with Into the Fray rune obviously. Try running around enemies with Sprint, if they get hit by the tornadoes, your fury should fill up very fast. May need a bit of practice.

Is it still work? Now, I'm trying to generate some fury with Sprint with tornado rune and... fury is still in the same level. I have 45% crit. Whirlwind still generate, but I don't have any benefit from sprint. Any suggestion?

Where do you get all that crit chance from? As far I can see your gear shouldnt give you that much crit chance? I only got 10% and can't see the big difference between our gear.
I don't think they can use jail right off since this never happened to me, would be one heck of a coincidence. I guess there's a minimum time after the fight start. Overpower can be up at all times easily if there's more than one monster, 90% of the time vs one. For your other comment : I've been using Overpower all the time (and dropped Leap) for a while, should have it in all the recent videos, except in some of the guides when I explain how to use Leap for those who want to start with it.
It's exactly the same, with Bash instead of Overpower (latest version). Kripp even mentionned my channel in his stream while showing the build. Bash can be useful, but you need more armor/res and more expensive gear to use it, and it's not necessary.
Because the number of tornadoes Sprint spawn depend on your movement speed, so using Hurricane double the number of tornadoes and make Sprint do twice as much damage (which is a lot more than WW's damage!), generate twice as much fury, and heal you twice as fast from LoH. :)
Still having issues with this build, it seems the issues is coming from how much fury is being generated by my tornadoes. Although I have 35% crit, they don't seem to be enough to keep me spinning. =(
hes also got the blood funnel rune on for WW.. anytime you see a yellow number hes recieving health from the crits....and LoH im sure makes this that much better
P.s. I don't say that lightly having seen some of the best barb plays i.e. kripparian. You just simply do more with less and that earns u a spot in my book! Now where is that subscribe button on my iPad....
I have around 26% crit from items. Get a mace or axe to get +10% with the passive, +5% with the other passive, +3% with battle rage and eventualy +10% with wrath of the berserker.
I've always overlooked Barbarian classes in the Diablo games, cuz I thought they'd be boring but this looks fun as hell. Plus one of the helmets he was wearing made him look like a beefed up Santa Clause. Lol! I gotta get in on that!
Hey, Dunno about other builds, but dualwielding is definitely better for this one : You get more LoH AND more attack speed (which mean your LoH heal you more often), so you'll end up tanking better than with a shield (thanks to the healing) and DPSing better too. Blade : Wow, 20 life per fury spent, seems like it could be awesome with the build, didn't try it. :o Imo get 40-45k HP, should be pretty comfortable, then go full DPS, you won't need more (could even go with less but a bit riskier).
Yea, Crit chance is very important for this build. You should be getting 20% just from the passives with the correct weapons though. Than you need at least 15% on the items, for a total of 35% unbuffed.
Is it really that effective? If you got this build + immortal king set, would you please send me your Batte-Tag, so that I can see how usefull it is ingame?
keep in mind thats every crit so if u crit 10 enemies thats 6000 life and that can happen in just one second - u need very high crit to make this work because u want to crit ALL the time - also all the enemies wont be hitting u when ur going through a pack so if u crit 10 each sec thats 6k a sec PLUS ur life on hit ( u need high life on hit) and if u get into a tough bind u can just leap away
It's never on CD for me. :) With the insane fury generation, I can manage to keep it on for over 10 minutes if I don't stop moving on. And the CD is only 2 minutes. (Champion packs in Act 3 take me about a minute to kill right now, so even I loss it after the fight, the CD left is only 30s tops. And I have it available again by the time I encounter another pack)
VS Spearmen I'm fine, they stop for quite a while before running again, and I manage to generate enough fury even vs a single enemy (cf shadow in diablo video). But shamans, wow, these are annoying. xD Worst elite packs for the build. I still manage to kill about 80% of the packs, but you need a good dps (about 15k damage stat?) and vs elite (yellow) you may not be able to keep WotB up till the end, so Jailers are a big problem. Basically I chase them relentlessly and mostly only use Sprint.
im currently using a sprint build to speed farm act 1 inf and its easily twice as fast as clearing with my frenzy cooldown build, thats the best part, allmost no downtime with a sprint/RLTW build. have tried to work WW into my build but at the end of the day, would rather have leap for bad situations. Bash/inst Leap/Iron Sprint/rltw Battlerage/into Warcry/impun WOTB/insanity/TOC. Works great for act 1 with 31.5 crit, 1161 LOH, 22k dps in magic find gears. 300ish resists fine for Act 1.
Nah, from my tests seems more like : every ~0.5 second, Sprint checks if you traveled over a certain distance since the previous tornado, and spawn the next one if you did. So you can move as fast as you want, you won't spawn more than one every 0.5 second.
I remember seeing this here back when you first graced the world with this build. So many props to you man.

You can't replace bash with overpower. Overpower is on cooldown and cannot be placed in mouse 1
yeah im curious if this will work on act 2. crit lowers in effectiveness because the mobs are of a higher level.

question when you in a new fresh game how do you get your fury up so you war cry > battle rage > leap (and hop it crits 1-2 times)> then sprint??

everytime i try to hit i have enough fury to WW so i lose the fury and i am never able to cast sprint
Life is from leech item ("+ x Life on Hit"), Fury is from critical hits + the rune on Battle Rage.

Build up rage with Sprint only and only start using WW when you're full and there's a few tornadoes around.
Dino in your skill build why choice hurricane rune for your tornado? isn't it better if other runes rather than movement speed?

I found that you need fairly large groups of monsters to sustain it (and obv a similar crit value and cries active).
Hey Dino, how do you get around jailer+desecration or ice bomb? Only thing I can think of is WotB. But sometimes that's on cd, so do you just wait?

War Cry and Leap cost 0 fury and generate some (30 and 15). I use Battle Rage and Sprint with the fury they generate.

You have to enable elective mode!
Go to Options -> Gameplay -> Interface -> Elective mode

Go to Gameplay Options, turn on Elective Mode, equip any 6 skills you want from the whole pool :). Turn on Detailed Tooltips too while you're there.
how do u have war cry and battle rage at the same time?
What do you do vs Jailers, Shielding, Invul minions Act 2+ ???
but arena 2vs 2 you have a partner whats to stop a mage of witchdoctor etc rooting you whiule barb pwns you with tornado spec

Dunno about other builds, but dualwielding is definitely better for this one : You get more LoH AND more attack speed (which mean your LoH heal you more often), so you'll end up tanking better than with a shield (thanks to the healing) and DPSing better too.
Blade : Wow, 20 life per fury spent, seems like it could be awesome with the build, didn't try it. :o
Imo get 40-45k HP, should be pretty comfortable, then go full DPS, you won't need more (could even go with less but a bit riskier).
Blood Funnel seems weak. With say 60k hp, that's only 600 life, and it only activates on crit. Why not Wind Shear or Hurricane?
Is overpower reflect ww better than maniac frenzy/ww?

Yea, Crit chance is very important for this build. You should be getting 20% just from the passives with the correct weapons though. Than you need at least 15% on the items, for a total of 35% unbuffed.
Works for me. Try replacing "us." with "eu.". Watch the page while it loads, it can bugs otherwise apparently.
I don't understand how you gain fury but any way my build Is. Focused on damage output and surviveability

keep in mind thats every crit so if u crit 10 enemies thats 6000 life and that can happen in just one second - u need very high crit to make this work because u want to crit ALL the time - also all the enemies wont be hitting u when ur going through a pack so if u crit 10 each sec thats 6k a sec PLUS ur life on hit ( u need high life on hit) and if u get into a tough bind u can just leap away
how do you start the fight with no fury?
It's never on CD for me. :)
With the insane fury generation, I can manage to keep it on for over 10 minutes if I don't stop moving on. And the CD is only 2 minutes.
(Champion packs in Act 3 take me about a minute to kill right now, so even I loss it after the fight, the CD left is only 30s tops. And I have it available again by the time I encounter another pack)
Would this work with a mighty weapon too ?
VS Spearmen I'm fine, they stop for quite a while before running again, and I manage to generate enough fury even vs a single enemy (cf shadow in diablo video).
But shamans, wow, these are annoying. xD
Worst elite packs for the build. I still manage to kill about 80% of the packs, but you need a good dps (about 15k damage stat?) and vs elite (yellow) you may not be able to keep WotB up till the end, so Jailers are a big problem.
Basically I chase them relentlessly and mostly only use Sprint.
how do u gain fury is it the tornadoes?

im currently using a sprint build to speed farm act 1 inf and its easily twice as fast as clearing with my frenzy cooldown build, thats the best part, allmost no downtime with a sprint/RLTW build. have tried to work WW into my build but at the end of the day, would rather have leap for bad situations. Bash/inst Leap/Iron Sprint/rltw Battlerage/into Warcry/impun WOTB/insanity/TOC. Works great for act 1 with 31.5 crit, 1161 LOH, 22k dps in magic find gears. 300ish resists fine for Act 1.
Nah, from my tests seems more like : every ~0.5 second, Sprint checks if you traveled over a certain distance since the previous tornado, and spawn the next one if you did. So you can move as fast as you want, you won't spawn more than one every 0.5 second.
