Love your channel Dan. I’m also working on a ‘51 3100. You’ve given me much needed inspiration! I just finished up the chassis, for the most part, and starting on the cab. Wish me luck!👍
So glad I found you. What you do is a lost art for sure, but with your help it seems possible. I have a '52 Chevy 3100 with some body rot around the windshield and on the sides in the same places you're showing here. Fortunately, my door hinge mounts are solid. I'm thinking about cutting off the top part of the cowel and welding in a new one. I'm sure easier said than done, but the rot around lower part of the windshield is so bad, it's probably easier changing out the entire upper cowel than it is trying to repair the rusted curvy metal. I'll keep watching and thanks for doing this. It's really important to pass this along to the next gen so there's someone to carry on your craft!
Nice work Dan you are really gutsy doing that repair, I hope mine wont need that but is awesome to see how you do this repair, I am barely starting removing rivets from my chassis to get it ready for the Mustang II in mine, I grind the rivers and use a drill bit as you did, good tip from you, and I bought the paint that causes Cancer in California , I need to be careful because I live in California 😂😂😂😂
I didn't see if you caught it or not, the lines on the inner kick panel have to align with the ridges in the cowl. I learned the hard way when replacing the kick panel on my 47. I was fortunate that my pillar and cowl were intact and didn't have to be cut out.

@@dirtydansrodncycle i thought about going that route, would have saved time. i think it is easier to fit up when you split it like that

Subbed working on a 53 3100 5 window
Thats a tedious repair for sure, looking good Dan, I'm glad I'm not putting that puzzle together. Have a good week.
A bit of a 'time sucker' to be sure! Thanks
You wont have the ebrake in the truck ? I was thinking also If I should keep it my brake, still works, but will keep watching your build, 🤛💪
I have a 53 so I know exactly what you mean on that E brake!... lol
Did you sell all the bike parts
no...nothings moving right now
👍🏻🍺
Looking good does not look like the cab I delivered Rudy should take a look at your Channel but he won't
So,what you're saying is,it's not a 5 minute job like they show on the big money rebuilds? Keep up the good work,Dan.👍🇨🇦
Lol, not a reality show...just plain reality! Thanks
