    Hey Stephen. Nice work on the brackets.👍 I like the trick on welding the nut on the back of the plate. it turns a 2 man job into a 1 man job. Cool steering wheel. You are really coming along with your truck. My hat's off to your wife. She is doing a fantastic job videoing your channel. 👍👍

    Wondering if you can tell me what model headers you installed?
    I have tried the Shorty block hugger headers and they stick out to far from the LS engine.

    It's frustrating. With all the goings on

    When Juan is bored.... I'm thinking of dragging the body and all parts up here. My cheesy is nothing to write home about. So I'm thinking of using the 93 chassis. Shortening it. Bot I have everything I need .tank brakes TBI .everything for $300 bucks. Retirement price

It had been in hibernation for over 25 years. Now that I am retiring from AA, airlines, I am working on it, getting lots of Ideas from you. Thank you... Im trying to do it in the CHEAP. trying to make due with the original steering column, connected to the 1987 Chevy front suspension power steering via a Jeep Cherokee steering shaft. What could I use for the end of the 54 column tube ?. m using the on the 3 0n the column shifter as an automatic shifer... Ilove your work...

    • @idahofabricator8710
      @idahofabricator8710  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Juan that sounds like a cool project I would measure the inside diameter of the steering column and the outside diameter of the steering shaft if you’re lucky there might be a bearing available that could slide inside of the column to support the shaft if not I would use a bronze bushing that would slip into the column to support the shaft you could hold it in place with some set screws just drill and tap the column in three spots and probably 1/4 28 set screws to lock the bearing or bushing in place around the column

    • @idahofabricator8710
      @idahofabricator8710  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original steering wheel won’t work with the aftermarket columns, splines are different and the the other difference is the original wheel is 18 inches in diameter and the new wheel that I got is 15 inches it’s a reproduction of a 1940 Ford steering wheel and with power steering you don’t need a large diameter wheel, originally these trucks were all manual steering so you needed the big diameter wheel.
