    I live in a city and walk/bike for transportation (and work in a lab), so I'm usually walking or biking for literally 2 hours a day and doing active lab work for about 5 hours a day--I didn't realize that eating just three moderate-sized meals is NOT ENOUGH for me!

    I didn't get periods for 15 years (ish) and have osteoporosis now.

    Where did the 1200 calories come from? I have heard this for most of my life, and witnessed my mom dieting with the 1200 calorie limit as a kid. I lost my period in middle school due to restricting my food intake. I have had bloating issues for most of my life, and now I think it might be because of food restriction. I started working with a dietician and am now eating much healthier - my bloating has almost totally gone away and I just feel better. Wish I knew all of this when I was 13! Thank you for your videos.
    Edit: NVM I see you have a video on the 1200 calories thing!! You’re awesome.

    i think i was eating very less for a long period( 2 years of IF and loads of exercise - 1 hr tennis, 30 min running and gym, another 1 year just eating less ) lost weight but , i observed bloating , constipation, mal nutritioned, brittle or thin and dry hair, teeth marks on sides of the tongue, cold hands and feet all the time, very low energy, muscle loss, low motivation and memory. then increased weight a lot. finally increasing my calories to 2000 + and been to gym from 1 month, increased weight a bit but less bloating, more energy, less teeth marks on tongue, improved memory and motivation, cold hands and feet decreased but not gone( all my reports are normal including throid and insulin ). i felt i feel more warm in night than in morning even if i eat good in the morning than lates. due to excess warmness in night , couldn't sleep well.

    Hi - What are your thoughts on an intermittent fasting regime, where your caloric intake (but not a large calorie deficit) occurs within an 8 hour period (so, say lunch & dinner) and should be complete significantly before bedtime. Thanks

    How can we resolve all of these symptoms ? And the metabolism that is adapted

    • @thekahmclinic4082
      @thekahmclinic4082  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By consistently eating more food! When you’re taking in enough calories none of these things should be happening

    I already had those symptoms before loosing weight because of hypothyroidism. It’s tricky enough to loose weight as it is but also to tune in to my bodys signals because it is a mess because of hypo. 🙆🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

    I feel that my calorie intake is too low. Then, what must I do? Must I increase my calorie intake immediately to my metabolic rate OR must I increase my calorie intake slowly to my BMR?

    • @thekahmclinic4082
      @thekahmclinic4082  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should never be eating less than your BMR.

      You probably need to gain some of the weight back!

    What activity level would you say is walking 5-6 miles a day ( on top of normal daily activity). Isn’t binging a sign of this as well?

    • @thekahmclinic4082
      @thekahmclinic4082  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably moderate to high activity! And yes Bingeing can definitely be a sign of under eating

    Just how weight loss is slow and gradual ....what about weight gain for someone who needs to gain weight?
    Should weight gain be slow and gradual as well?

      That depends on where the starting point is.

    How do I identify a clinic n my state that is similar to yours?

    • @thekahmclinic4082
      @thekahmclinic4082  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could search for clinics that are anti-diet and/or do metabolic testing (not many do both).

    People always talk about creating a small caloric deficit for healthy weight loss, is that the same idea for healthy weight gain?

    • @thekahmclinic4082
      @thekahmclinic4082  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes depending on how much weight you have to gain. If it’s a lot of weight to gain you’re usually safe increasing calories pretty quickly like 500 every week or so!
