Good cars... and economical for size.. negative is that it is a long car. Some models sit lower to improve aerodynamics/ for economy.. not for the look. The Kuga is a direct competitor and I think is probably the best all round crossover. I wanted to test drive a Mondeo on IOM but on 2 occaisions dealer did not get back to me... dealers take note!! Just beware buyers some Mondeo trims do not have reversing sensors!! Some Vignale dont have a hatchback, just a boot? Also beware dual clutch gearboxes in any car generally more reliable as wet clutch as opposed to dry clutch AND be very aware gearbox oil in dual clutch cars may need frequent oil changes aswell as the engine oil. I bought a Qashqai in the end BUT if I had gone for a Ford.. I would go for Titanium spec 2 litre diesel with manual gearbox with 17 inch wheels or 18 inch worst case. 19 inch wheels WILL give a hard ride and potentially damage eiyh pot holes. Beware never ride kerbs with alloys as you can easily crack them due to tyre compression.

Do you not get the 2liter petrol 238bhp? If you want to know the mpg, it's not the car for you. (or me). The skoda vRS 220 petrol is better fuel wise, but both will return about 30mpg real world taking it easy. The diesel vrs would be the one to go for over the Mondeo 180bhp and stated 58mpg (probably 45 in real life. However the lean St FR is a better buy than the Skoda.
Yes and no, fuel is more expensive here but its more to do with our car tax, our current system is based on CO2 emissions so hugely favours Diesel over Petrol
