    Nice Dodge! Manual shift, you’ve got it going on. I needed a truck in a hurry when I got mine, was spoiled by my 98.5 dodge. I drive easy, I couldn’t keep a tranny in it. My wife was pushing me towards a 1/2 ton, so my 2000 was the first one to come up on my radar, naturally my auto went out, went to a triple disc!

    How do these trucks hold up in terms of reliability. I’m looking at a 2007 6.7 with a manual transmission with 210k miles. I’m looking forward to get into hotshot trucking.

    • @hogie1685
      @hogie1685  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      6.7’s was the start of an EGR and DPF with regens 🤢🤢🤢🤮 on the Cummins. My truck is the early 07 so last of the 5.9L. Only emissions on that motor was a CAT. Which some how fell off shortly after owning it 🤪. 6.7 is a great motor but I would delete it for sure.

      Ever since I bought the truck. You can just pull they keys out of the tumbler when it's in the run position. Perfect for letting her idle when I run into a store quickly. And I can lock the doors 👍🏻

      Variable vane turbo or sequential turbos. No big singles.. or twins.. but where's the fun in that.. i personally love my big single. Little learning curve but you can granny shift it and keep it out of boost and get lots of mpg. Not to mention for the 5.9 with the g56 and not so high speed highway oriented ratio with the stock turbo it chugs fuel but with more airflow it floats past 2k rpm instead of coming to it like a barrier

    My dad bought a 07 5.9 manual off the lot brand new but he only had it for a couple years before he got the 2012 6.7. The interior on the 3rd gens are just awful. Notice how in the vid the guys knee was up against the dash. Horrible design. That’s why my dad got ride of his. Besides he hauls for a living and the 4th gen 6.7s are way better for towing power.
