    I must admit, coming from the self proclaimed "world's biggest skeptic:, when I first started watching Steve's videos I wasn't too impressed. But the more I watched the more I realized Steve's videos really deal with real helpful information (better than any I've seen) rather than the traditional commercial videos designed to sell product. Thanks Steve

      @SteveRogersOutdoors Steve way back in the day some of us did some dead sticking in colder months but maybe you can bring to light in some underwater action about dead sticking and how it can be used year around especially on pressured fish. Dead sticking a drop shot is a good start and easy rig to set up. Just don't move the weight works good with live scope, but back in the day, I was good for about 2 minutes, and my patience ran out. Today live scope, I can eat a cracker, drink a coke, and watch the screen.
      PS. Don't forget dead sticking floating worms pop R's etc.

    Wow thx Steve you just answered a 50 year question for me! Every time I see a turtle my fishing buddy says there’s your turtle than says I hate turtles and I say watch this and cast my jig right at him and let it fall and usually I get a bite on the way down or if I don’t I let it set and they hit it then! It drives my buddy crazy! And I got to laugh. I always thought the bass were hitting baitfish or crawfish and knocking parts off of them and the turtles were feeding on the scapes, didn’t know the the bass were following the turtles digging for food! Thx again, I’m 69 years old and glad to find this out! Also I’ll give some of my juice for information. I keep a 1/8 oz hair jig ready for my back up bait, I watched the hair flares out when it hits the bottom don’t move it for 20 seconds and hang on! lol keep the faith brother 👍🥸🙏

    Thursday video? Yay! I am constantly amazed at how curious bass are. I think that's why they'll check out a bubblegum or electric blue soft plastic. And just like a toddler, they explore their world with their mouths.

    I had one of my best days last summer casting a worm just outside of the cattails to the dirtier water that the carp had created when spawning that morning... the turtle footage was spot on..... great video steve....

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors

      When those carp spawn they sure kick up a lot of debris. In years past, I would avoid a lot of those areas but not anymore.

    Steve, I love your underwater footage. It gives us a perspective that is really helpful in how we present our baits. I'm with you on point #2. I have come back to area's that were disturbed by either me or another angler and have caught fish.

    As an aside to the second point about noise or fish getting spooked……I shiner fished with an exceptionally great guide on Okeechobee. For those that have never shiner fished, the float typically keeps moving as the shiner swims on the end of the line.
    We were getting good action when we saw a boat fishing a tournament coming towards us running a trolling motor. Guide said we might as well pull in our shiners as the bite would stop. Fish would quit moving. I questioned him about this, so we pulled in 3 of the 4 we had out and left the most active one. When the boat got about 30-40 yards away the shiner went totally still. Didn’t move again until the boat was gone, when it resumed pulling the float around.
    Somehow fishermen think a fish can feel vibrations from a 1/2 ounce lure from 20 feet away but can’t feel a trolling motor running. As noted in the video, I firmly believe fish can hear/feel loud talk and rod lockers slamming. When we musky fish many times someone will yell out if they have a follow. More often than not the fish will turn away at the sound
    Love your underwater shots.

    Wow that was great footage and analysis. Well done!! Now, could you PLEASE do this type of video introducing various colors and types of line? Wouldn’t this give us some great data on the questions about line visibility spooking fish-or not? I’m curious lol if braided line spooks fish!

    There's this one lake that I fish and in one spot of the lake I get hung up on a submerged tree multiple times. Every time I get hung up while I am attempting to get free from the snag my plastic worm gets smashed by what feels like a sizable bass.

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They definitely can get aggressive with that type of movement and sudden direction change by the lure. I’ve got a tree in the waters I fish that gets me every time too.
