I'm like 150 in and I feel like I've just scratched the surface, I love how every time I do a run in Horde Mode, I can literally feel how I'm improving. Still, I can't do a full Ultranightmare run :")
I have played this game for so long that I usually think about other stuff while ripping and tearing and let my subconscious take over. It is all muscle memory at this point and the slayer is an extension of my body.
Feel this one 100%. I hear a lot of people say Doom 2016 and Eternal are more like Quake than Doom, and while I agree movement wise the balance of monsters and the dance you do with them feels distinctly classic Doom to me.
Classic Doom and new Doom are completely different. But I feel the same when playing Eternal and when playing the classic games. BUT, bunny hopping in Eternal feels just like it did in Quake 3
Casually having the best fan animation of Doom Eternal I've ever laid my eyes on at the end of the video is a power move. It's criminal that this video hasn't been picked up by the algorithm yet.
Small correction about the Marauder: The Dog comes out if you shoot the shield enough. Essentially acting as a punishment for mistiming/spamming (it also spawns rhe Dog from enemy fire)

Personally, I'm not a big fan of slayer v slayer in this game. And I have barely touched MP, bc every time I tried it, I had to wait 30 min to find a match.

The latest version of svs reworks the meme beam into a lightning gun and the chaingun shield into a chargeable blast. The mod is prepping for an idstudio launch as well. Of course that's discounting the additional battlemode 3.0 mod that reworks the mode to be more balanced and fun. If you thought the campaign had depth, the peak of battlemode far outmatches it.

I played Doom Eternal on my Xbox One 4 years ago, completed it with the ancient Gods Part 1. Flash forward i got a PS5 and bought it again with all the DLC and im about to play Doom 2016. Its that good. All played on Nightmare mode
playing doom eternal, requires strategic thinking on how handle each fight, however you still need to remember to go monkey bullet mode in the right time else you'll do nothing. basically 1+2×4-15=1 to FUCK IT WE BALL

Doom Eternal is in my top 5 games ever, I have like 500h, but man, that shit is broken, the game shits it's pants 1 in 5 times you try to do anything (even more so in high level play). You start to develop a 6th sense to avoid bugs. I really hope The Dark Ages improves on this aspect.
Yes, there are a LOT of bugs, but in my experience they haven't been a problem. Actually a lot of them have to do with collision, and end up being a way of learning how to improve movement across the map without taking any damage. The only bug that annoys me all the time, is when the AI suddenly stops working and you have to be like 2 minutes going around the map searching for an idle enemy.

I think I've heard somewhere that the fuel tank on the back of the carcass is also a weak point but I'm not sure since I can't really test it myself because the console I was using to play doom eternal just stopped working one day.
Fun facts: the reason that's enemies drop ammo with the chainsaw is because the suit that doomguy has repurposes hell Essence into ammo and health pickups which demons have a lot of. Don't believe me look it up.

I had made a preset EQ profile for the Spanish dub that I used in the ENG dub as well, but my dumass recorded them in two rooms with entirely different acoustics (and I was also very sick when recording the English version).
I have NO idea how you play with the FOV that high. That isn’t me criticizing you or trying to tell you how _you_ ought to play, I just honestly want to know what the advantage is that turning the FOV up provides. Perhaps I’m missing something, and there is some sort of gamefeel thing I’m not used to that could improve my play. I am hesitant because to me the environment and visual design is a HUGE part of my DOOM experience. I NEED to take in the work that the writers and artists did because I think they cooked HARD and really want more of it.
Personally, I have two reasons: 1- I've found out after years of getting dizzy while gaming, that with lower FOVs, I get motion sickness 2- Specifically in this game, with a lower FOV, there were too many times when I would be hit by someone who was just outside my screen (even with the default maximum FOV), so a higher field of view actually helped me avoid those melee attacks.

Your save was corrupted to make your guns busted, the game doesn't intentionally do that. Many fps games engine speed is tied to fps. If anything doom eternal is highly optimized to mitigate low fps. How is engaging with the game's mechanics a waste of time? Your example of the gameplay loop can remove gks, and both grenades since they're optional. Hell it's more efficient to arbalest cacodemons. Doom 2016's gameplay loop is very similar so I don't understand this critique. The Mick situation is unfortunate but so is the nature of AAA game development crunch.

I find it fascinating how almost all the footage you find of Doom Eternal has the FOV jacked up so high you feel like you're in a fishbowl.
I love 120+ FOV. Everything I play, has to have a 120+ FOV (I also get motion sickness at lower FOVs)

14:36 Honestly I disagree, Doom Eternal is fairly forgiving of mistakes once you figure out all the comeback mechanics. I'd argue Nightmare Doom Eternal is more forgiving than Nightmare Doom 2016
100% on Eternal's fairness at high levels.. I've played a bit of 2016, but not enough to compare its UN to Eternal's. I grew up playing brutal doom, so 2016 was actually a bit too slow for me and I didn't really like it.
