@@Adventurebikeridersgib Yeah most 1250s are 6-650 pounds so weight = horsepower so probably not to much slower considering.. I'm thinking about getting this Honda or the Yamaha Tenere 700. They are within 20 pounds of each other but Yami has 27 more horsepower at 75 verses 48 so that's steering me that way..🤔
@Sea Time depends on what you want it for, if you want it for offroading i would definitely go for the Yamaha, but if you want to save a bit of cash and just going to use it to commute, then i would definitely go for the Honda.
I got this bike few weeks ago. I bought a new one and I preferred it over the new nx500. Saved money and I got a bike much much sexier than the new one.
As with most adventure bikes with the right tires makes it capable off roading and this video proves it, also rider skills. I enjoyed this real world video and the bike seems like it’s proving itself.
A follow-up to my last post having had the bike for a few months now and taking it on a first green lane trail ride this past weekend. To position the ride, it was pitched as a newcomers beginners ride, so I'm thinking some gravel, maybe some light lanes, grass, maybe some dried mud.... BUT NO! Full on slushy, mushy, muddy, deep mud, large puddles 2ft deep and I was on Pirelli Scorpion trail IIs. The other guys were on full on 2 stroke trail bikes - Husqvarnas etc. - but the CB held up fantastically well! I was debating whether to spend the money modifying my CB for more off road or getting a proper trail bike instead. However, watching your video again today has convinced me to stick with the CB. I was able to ride away after the trail on my 30 min ride home on motorways and no problems. The trail bikes has to be loaded up into vans! CB for me - thanks again for posting such a great video!
I'm moving from my 2016 africa twin to the cb500x because when the bike goes down I can lift it back up. The twin was hard to lift by myself and I fall a lot as I ride where most don't. I also ride a dr650 for local adventures I like the cb500x for the highway and long rides before off road.
I just sold my F800 GS because it is too heavy and top heavy at that. Plus it has a ridiculously small fuel tank (16 litres). I just purchased a CB 500X and will be picking it up in a couple days. Even just on a long test ride , I can tell the bike is lighter and better balanced. Can't wait to get it off road!
John (Jane's the wife!)......Agreed - the CB500X is a very capable machine and its light weight makes it much more pleasant to ride on back roads compared to bigger adventure bikes. I've previously owned a R1200GS, CRF1000L, Tiger 800 and Tenere 700 but I enjoy exploring rural back roads more on the CB500X. It's also easier to push around when needed. It's not intimidating for novices but it's also great fun for more experienced riders like me, who want something light and manoeuvrable but with enough power to provide some entertainment. Its fuel economy is amazing at about 80mpg (UK), giving a tank range over 250miles. At 471cc, it's probably not the ideal bike for long motorway journeys, but that's not what adventure bikes are for anyway!
I do have to say your brave without a skid plate. I love my 21, I kitted it out with crash bars and skid plate. Now I look the part when I ride down to the coffee shop. Hello from Vancouver Island, Canada.

I just bought a CB500X for a road trip around Thailand with my daughter during rain season. We will be on and off road, so I've put on some all terrain tyres and hope for the best.
Nice vlog, what a bike, didn't think the cb would get out of the last mud hole. Just goes to show, you don't need a large mega buck off-road bike. Like it. Going to book a test ride now!!

people really need to remember that they are adventure touring motorcycles, not dual sports.. so yeah its a great lightweight adventure touring motorcycle. lol
Tires and thats a very capable adventure bike. Says a lot in favor of this machine. It doesn't matter WHAT kind of rubber you put on some so-called adventure bikes, they're still gonna be absolute pigs off-road.
Great video, here's one more new owner of cb500x - Is some splash/engine guard needed, or it is ok without it and just to be more careful not to hit something hard below? Also with that much mud stuck below, can anytihng get damaged?
Love the cb500x fun ass 🆒 bike + simple to do all the maintenance items. Awesome daily & go down trails on the weekends 💯👍👍 mine is the 2019 non abs got it with only 500 miles on it, now OVER 2K miles in under 2 months

It's been my first bike (2021 model) as a new rider who got to motorcycling in its early '50s. I put nearly 14,000 km in 1 year of ownership, in fact 10 months of effective riding. Did one European tour from Greece to Huelva, ES, 4500km in one go, 10 days. Loved it! Not the most comfortable for long distance touring (lots of buffeting), but it did the job effortlessly and completely trouble free, plus, extremely economical 3.0-3.3L/100km. I changed it to a new Tuareg 660, which suits better my riding style. Nevertheless, Honda is a class of quality in its own while CB500X is a very, very good allrounder bike. Keep it up!

Hay mate, that was pure mud!! All i can say that a BMW 1250 did not make it through, a ADV got stuck and a Tenere last week was not able to make, and a £6,000 CB500X MADE IT THROUGH!!
@@Adventurebikeridersgib They need to start calling 'adventure' bikes what they are; 'Forest road' touring bikes. They are all a joke as far as off road. Give me a DR 650, or 400 or an old DR350 and I'll go places they can't get near enough to even see. And you don't have to be Pol Torres to do it.
Amigo what you are say is enduro bikes, these are adventure bikes, you can go on a very long trip confny and you canngo offroad. Stick to enduro channels. I think you have got the concept wrong of adventure bikes!!!

What I am talking about is a good dual sport which is what an 'adventure' bike was until the manufacturers realized they could make overweight tourers with knobbie4s tires and sell them for too much to idiots. Yep. And it's a lot easier to kit a dual sport to make it livable on the road than to make an adv more capable off-road.
