I’m a woman of color and blessed to become 72 yo in November and truly grateful to you for sharing your invaluable insight on life. You give me such inspiration to remain optimistic about advanced aging. Sunday I fell injuring my head, facial bruising, broken breakfast dishes, and oh dear, both my knee replacements and were hurt. Nanny I’m recovering and you’re first person I’ve had the courage to share my unfortunate accident. You’re lovely, bring me such joy everyday and now you’re singing and discussing makeup! I love you and Moosey from afar in Jesus Christ’s name. ❤❤❤
Hello….and thank you for being here with us today, my friend…and for sharing your feelings.I am sorry you had an accident and are suffering pain…but at 72 you still have so much in life to experience! Stay strong and be blessed.🙏❤️
Love this video Nanny! You keep me young with everything you do! You have such a zest for life and with every word you say, you help so many to stay active and happy! Thank you🙏🌸🌺🌼Love to you and Moosie‼️
I will be 75 this year, still mow 2 acres with push mower, weed wack garden, painted my garage last year, still do what I have done for years, splitting wood, etc. God is Good! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Nanny ...... you put into words what so many of us are thinking and feeling each and every day! I love listening to your honesty and calming voice! It is so comforting and therapeutic! Please keep sharing your life and thoughts every day...... it's like talking/listening to an a dear friend!!!❤️
Good talk this morning. It’s nice to hear we are all thinking the same way. I got tears in my eyes when you started explaining how you were feeling. You are so positive it helps us to stay positive. Thank you Nanny. Hug Moosey for me. Take good care of yourself. ❤❤
I’m 80 and use to be so energetic I live on a farm and so very happy then one day my hubby died with no warning then I came down with a rare form of bacterial meningitis and stroke in a coma for two weeks . Now I can do hardly anything can barely walk the sickness caused me to be deaf. That was 16 years ago and I’m still struggling. I have 4 living sons who have been a big help And some where along those years I have taken in cats that people throw away like trash and I get them neutered and spayed and shots but I can’t keep it up I can barely take care of my self but I love them I’ve had commits that my house smells like cat pee . I enjoy listening to you and hearing about your Moosie and little glimpses of shamu I am a Christian and felt I was led to your channel your message light at the end of a dark tunnel. So glad Moosie is doing better each day snd so are you . Thank goodness for family.!!❤️
I feel like 40 also…..the brain and thoughts are 40….the body is true to the 80 years that I turned yesterday! I still do water aerobics and arts and crafts. Love my family and hubby! I guess I am blessed to be here!
I know the feeling. I am 74 and know there are not that many years ahead of me. I will be thrilled if I make it to 87. But you are fortunate to be so close to so much family. Mine is strewn to the four corners of the United States.
Marilyn, you can choose to live to 120, according to Genesis 6. Keep your spirits up, doing the things God assigned you to do and decide to BE A BLESSING to someone each day. Think about how you can encourage someone every single day and make them smile that they are still alive. You have an important purpose for being here many more decades. God bless you, BIG TIME, in Jesus's Name!
I've tried to learn over the years to appreciate each stage that I'm in right now. My mother taught me (and I'm just now appreciating it) that Nothing Is Permanent. That means not the good AND not the bad. If I can appreciate the day for what it is, I will be much less unhappy with my circumstances. I'm still working on this...
Oh Nanny-I’m your age and a widow and feel so blessed that I have had the life that I have had--it’s perfectly fine to feel a little melancholy and I agree that it is important to have something to look forward to-I lunch with a friend-a little shopping for fun things-a movie etc-you both are such a joy and blessing to so many-I am one of them-thank you.
Great talk today Nanny- thx SO much! I have to watch I don’t go down the road of the past too much- I’ve lost my parents, 5 siblings and my husband so it’s a very slippery slope sometimes! I love Moosie talking w/ us today and I so agree with you BOTH about having some little thing to look forward to during the week. It does make such a . Difference! You two are also so fortunate that you still have each other to go through these senior years today! Soooo happy for you guys! Your hearts are HUGE and you are helping SO many of us with your videos, family and wonderful sense of humors! You two always make the best of the day!❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰
NANNY, the only thing you get looking back is a crick in your neck. You have lived a amazing life with your amazing family. Its time to be grateful now that you and Moose are still together and well enough to enjoy a more simple life.your family are still with you they are the blood of your blood.Give yourself a gold star for being an incredible human being xFran London UK.
Nanny, my Mother is 88 and she can't remember all of those good times. While you are giving thanks for those times, be happy you can remember them. I hope you keep those good times in your memory to the end. You are like the Mom that used to be there for me and I appreciate you.
Oh nanny. I’m relating to this conversation. I’m 80 now and in my heart I’m 40. I miss the 40s but greatful to God that I’m still around. I do get a little sad not having the life I had in my 40s. I loved my job and doing things with my mom and kids. Kids have their own life now and my mom is gone. I try to keep busy with things. I’m trying to do more excersise since having a terrible setback after major surgery. A lot of it due to the fact that I’m not in shape. I wish I had your energy nanny. You do so much. But you inspire me. Your cold dinner looks delish. Bless you and Sandra Salin is hilarious I love her! Everyone should watch her as well. Take care nanny. At 87, you are incredible ❤
Loved your chat today. We were also able to move my parents onto our property and built them a small cabin style home. It was important for them to be a bit away from us and have their own space and their own lives. They have passed now. So many changes, the longer we live the more changes we have. Our kids are grown, our grandkids are grown, our great grands don't live that close and of course they are shared with their other grandparents, etc. I think it gets a bit harder as we get older. Like you said we have to accept where we are and make each day happy and productive. Yes treasure the memories.
It’s not wrong to feel melancholy Nanny. Those sweet memories you look back on keep your mind sharp. 💜I do the same from time to time. The fun we had in days gone by are precious memories ❤
Darling Nanny and Moosie: You are the very essence of aging gracefully. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories with us, you have lived a remarkable life and have much for which to be grateful. You are blessed to live so close to your daughter and her family on that beautiful property. You are leaving such a great legacy, not only for your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but also for your TH-cam audience who can access you wisdom and experience. Today was an unhappy and stressful day with me, but your post has cheered me and instructed me to pull myself up by the bootstraps. You are making such a positive difference in people's lives with your channel. Isn't that what we all want at the end of the day ... to leave a positive mark on this earth? With lots of thanks and love, Rosie from Canada.
Don’t forget that you have those memories to hold dear until the end of life. So many people do not have anywhere near the wonderful family gatherings and trips you have had to look back on. I marvel at the gatherings you have had just since I’ve been watching you on TH-cam! Thank you for sharing since we all have similar times of melancholy and regrets. You are a blessing to so many!
❤❤❤ My house of 50 years is about the size of your tiny cottage. I love the atmosphere of your cottage and outdoor garden. I love listening to your life adventures. My childhood was wonderful. Adulthood has been different, I haven't had big family gatherings since the 80s. Everyone iis scattered around the Southeast so family is seldom together. Like you, I am grateful for what I have. ❤
When all is said and done Nanny you still have the greatest gift of a compatible Husband to chat away those hours I’m on my own over 20 years now mostly housebound but my gift Thank God is resilience so Blessings to you and M for precious time together ❤❤M😊
Thank you for being so realistic about everything and sharing your feelings and how your gratitude helps and your attitude as well. You give hope and help and inspiration to others. I appreciate you so much. You are doing so amazingly well and shine a light on the path of aging..... and what to do and expect and accept with grace. Your hope and joy of life always shine through even when you are being candid and open about it all. Thank you Again!
Nanny, you will think I have two heads but I'm just an 80 year old introvert. I love nothing to do and no place to be. The thought of going somewhere during the week is actually a chore I dread. Yes, of course, I miss the days of young children occassionally but I now relish my alone time hobbies. Plus, I don't have your energy. You are amazing. Your energy in day is mine for a month, I think. Haha. I love watching your videos. It's a trip out for me. Maybe I'm living vicariously through you. That must be it. 😀
My husband said, "You're lucky Moose" that you live close to your children. Guess he said, Moose because they're both guys. Nanny you really find the right words to put things into perspective. We are renters now in Florida and don't get to see our children as much as we'd like but we have excepted our retirement years and gettin older very well also. Of course, like you and Moose, we have each other and that helps. Trying to make each other happy now that we have more time than we did when we were first married with jobs and children to raise. Expectance and Grateful not that hard to do the latter.
I had a big family growing up, my mom’s family had a family “clubhouse” and picnic. Area and we got together most weekends, the younger generation let it go and even in my own immediate family, everyone is busy, including weekends and we are lucky to get together for Easter and Christmas! I see them individually but not altogether! Miss those days!
Hi Nanny. Enjoyed your video, very interesting. I agree with it all.. You are so fortunate to have Moose by your side. I lost my husband and son 15 years ago in a car accident, we were married 42 years . We had a home in Green Valley Lake, I’m sure you know where that is, since you lived in Big Bear, we loved it, then decided to move to North Idaho in 1979. I do have a daughter but we’re not very close unfortunately. I’ve tried to live everyday with a positive attitude and be happy. You both enjoy each other everyday and be so thankful, remember we’re not guaranteed tomorrow ❤
Nanny thank you so much for talking about getting older. My husband is 84 yo and not in the best of health. I thoroughly enjoy your cooking segments because he enjoys meals from that era. As a caretaker it's very easy to be sad and long for the good old days. I will continue to watch because you encourage me to lift my head high and carry on. I thank you for that.❤
Hi Nanny, I think it is very normal to have those feelings. I have memories of when my girls were small and now they are doing their thing. Miss it when I was more important to them. We are going thru a summer also that has had high temperatures, chaos etc and I think it adds to the stress. You have much love around you so those melancholy feelings don't hang on too tight. Carry on Carry on and God Bless Us All :D
I had to chuckle today on this topic…..My mother once told me that turning 50 didn’t bother her, 60 tweaked her a little, but what really got to her, was she all of us hit our 40s. She said that she still felt like 35 in her head, but when all of your kids are in their 40’s, You can’t be. I am now in that stage and I completely understand her feelings! So I choose to be grateful every day for my health, my family, a beautiful day, etc and to understand that every day, every year is truly a gift. Love to you both and keep on truckin’. ❤😊
@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose WOW…that is truly amazing. You and Moose are truly an inspiration for a life well lived, a family well raised and a marriage nurtured with humor and much love. 🥰
Hi Nanny from England. I love rollmops you can buy them over here hope you can find some. Moosey has such a dry sense of humour he makes me smile😊 Thanks for keeping things real. I had to downsize to a very small property and I love clothes my place looks like a clothes shop things hanging everywhere. I’m trying to purge and filling bags to go to the charity shop (thrift) but I keep pulling things out of the bags 🙄
I love this and am sorry at the same time. I hit this spell in my mid 50's. My husband passed and the times of having 30+ people at my house for the holidays evaporated. As the children grew and merged into new families, I was left behind (not on purpose). I did not have daughters, so this made it a bit harder. I had to learn to create my own life, their lives were not reflective of how I did things in my 40's.....their family cultures are different. I've never dated or remarried, but am always busy and now working on a Master's Degree at age 69. I honestly think those younger than me are a bit envious of my freedom. Aging means nothing when it really gets down to it - you've shown us that. I am so grateful I found your channel, it brings a breath of fresh air to my life. It's like sitting with a therapist-mom. I love your honesty. And it is so true - age is just a number.
Karen…what a personal achievement…working on your Master’s at 69 ! You go ,Girl…I am so proud…thank you for sharing this and I hope many women read this and realize what THEY can do too.❤️
Hi Karen , I have a Son too . He lives out of State and is a bachelor . My nieces and nephews have flown the nest as well and have no children. I do have two wonderful brothers and sister-in-law’s who are still in the workforce so they’re not really around much. When you said you got your masters degree at such a mature age, it really impressed me and I felt wow I could’ve done that maybe but I’m pretty sure I could have a great accomplishment.❤
Good day/evening When its hot for supper sometimes.. we.. 1. cook pasta, drain it. Add cooked peas, corn, green pepper chopped [ optional], chopped onion, chopped cucumber and mix with cooled pasta. Add either tinned tuna or tinned beef. Add salt and pepper. Add mayonnaise to your taste. We add little bit mustard and little bit condensed milk. Mix everything. Cover and keep in fridge till you eat it. 2. Toast with egg salad. Something light. Cook eggs, remove shells after cooked. Mash with a fork. Add salt and pepper, mayonnaise to taste. Enjoy on toast or fresh soft bread.
Nanny, you are just a beautiful soul and you are such an encouragement to those of us that follow you💖 I'm in my late 60s and feel blessed to know the Lord and experience His plan for my life! Although its usually not my plan😊. Its much better🤗💖🤗💖
I just turned 78 last week. I have a husband that is aging with me. He is not as fortunate as I with health. I unfortunately don’t have the family that you and Moosie do, both of you are very blessed. Love your videos, they are very inspiring. Also, I love it when you cook. You have good recipes for two people. Thank you for your wonderful words of wisdom and encouragement ❤️
Sorry about the terribly hot weather!! I can recommend having your hot beverages next to the open fridge!! I nearly climbed into my fridge last time we had a heat wave❤❤ Love you both!! Ps. Please attack that water bottle with a vengeance😉🥤🥤🥤🥤
I loved your talk about aging. I so know what you mean I feel 40 too~ But not really, in my mind I do. Then I get around my daughter who will be 44 tomorrow and I see the difference. I do not have energy like you..but I' m alone and that makes a difference. I have to fight off the times. You give me a pep talk and I love that, I know its what I need! Thank you for all the effort you put towards your channel. I enjoy your pictures of your family through the years, It is so fun to see your big beautiful life you and Moosie created!! Hi Moose! No better example than you two of aging and family and marriage! xoxo
❤❤❤ The interaction between you and Moose was my favorite part of this video, discussing how good breakfast was and what chores have to be done, just enjoying the moment! Seeing Shamu is always a pleasure! I love your blouse and your bracelet,Nanny! You look happy! Colors are suppose to elevate our moods, so there you go! Allow your melancholy thoughts to flow in and out of your mind, it’s a fleeting moment, it’s a nourishing moment and it’s there for us to enjoy! ❤❤❤
I can relate. My family is grown and live in various states. I understand what you are saying. I miss the family times. The vacations together and Sunday and holiday times. But my family has grown and looking back I pat myself on the back because my family is doing as they were taught. Yes I am included in some of the activities but after 80 differences are there. So I have learned that it is ok and all good!
I really enjoy your channel, you have such a great way of expressing your feelings about aging and how to accept what we cannot change. You are an inspiration and I am so glad I found your channel.
Hello Nanny. Let’s all be 40!! …Sometimes! Only for the energy and no wrinkles. Let’s anticipate in occasions - as Moosie says I like to Have one thing a week!- it can be a holiday. A birthday, an appointment or we can create an adventure!! With a friend or ourselves. We’ve had the big house and closets and too much kitchen!! You create delicious suppers where ever you are. We still have wonderful times just on a different level. You always decorate your pretty mantle and it motivates me. Let’s start fall and treasure today . Hugs and much love. Accepting and being grateful.
Nanny, after watching this vireo a second time, I remembered I had some of the Loreal Lumi Glotion 902. This morning while getting ready for my Mammo I tried it again. It does give you the fresh "Beachy" look. I applied a little blush and out the door I went. I applied over Drmtology Tinted Sunscreen. Thanks for bringing this great product up. Blessings to you from Texas.
I also had a big, wonderful family. I appreciated that when I had it and miss it a lot now. My family is so scattered. It hits me every so often how much I’ve lost. Today is good; I have my great husband and my kitties, and see some of my kids regularly. I guess it’s natural but it can be hard. We can be grateful and nostalgic at the same time.
I peel eggs the same…..love your dinner …yum. I experience these feelings every once in a while too. Skied Big Bear with kids when they were young, spent 7 different years for a week at a resort in Mexico with both kids & G’children . Went to Italy with my brother and his family…water skied with our boat at the Colorado river. We always had the best Xmas celebrations together! Im 85/and the realization that most of my life is behind me is at times a shock. I try not to dwell on it though because then you feel sad instead of knowing how fortunate I was. I think about people losing homes & family for many different circumstances and try to not focus on what I no longer have.
Hello dear Mary Ellen.....what a sincere and honest discussion of melancholia and YES, I believe if we are ALL honest, this is something everyone deals with now and then...especially as we age. I think it comes at different times in our lives as we face changes....leaving behind the lighthearted days of childhood, going away to college or getting our first job, leaving home and going out into the world, moving from familiar surroundings, losing old friends and yes, even losing our former vitality or loss of health. Time is seasonal and nature is such an example of the changing seasons of life....the birth of spring and all things new and exciting, summer's glow and endless activity, the onset of fall and golden days of restfulness and then the quiet of winter and a slowing down and reflection. We look back with nostalgia at the days of our youth, our venturing out into the world, our families and all the many varied events that have filled our lives. We may at times feel a bit of melancholia at the changes and the passing of those summer days of youth, but to have lived fully, to have done our best, to have faced each day and challenge along the way as best we can is not to regret life's passing...but to cherish the memory of those beautiful golden days. Our life is a book still written until the very last chapter. The trees in fall do not weep at the loss of their leaves, but remember the spring wonder of new buds and leaflets and life anew, then remembering their amazing autumnal brilliance in the fall and the blanket of fallen leaf-covering that warms the earth until another season begins. The caterpillar awakens from his cocoon, breaks forth to newness....flies in his new found freedom and short life and never regrets the change. The cycle continues....all life is change and we learn the beauty of each season. Some days may be challenging but we do our best to find a sense of grace and gratitude. I've never seen a butterfly cry! As Moosie has suggested...finding the simple and special little things in daily life is so sweet. Going out to eat, calling or visiting a friend, enjoying grand kiddos, gardening or just a nice nap and a delicious lunch treat! Keep up these wonderful videos and your positivity and fun craft ideas and fashion shows....(time for some ice cream...A Nivea Nana in Pa.)
Hello ,😊🥰. I am Just in the learning process of slowing my life down as i am only 45 😅. Also not so afraid of aging. Life around me is not so quiet yet.... So many stressful situations. But kind of * forcing myself to choose silence and do the things I love😊😊. Your videos are an inspiration, as always❤
Well, Nanny, at age 70, I realize that life is about reinventing ourselves. And about goodbyes. Whatever the losses are, even the expected ones like kids going off on their own, it’s a loss. Something to which we have to say goodbye. And even the happy things can be sad. I tell myself. “It is what it is”. That’s furthered my acceptance of things beyond my control. Very little is within our control, and I for one have had a hard time letting go of all the things I really don’t have control over in the first place. Keep doing what you do. It’s a whole lot more than many can do as we get older. And we need you to set the example of what positive aging can be!
It's all about perspective. When my children went off & graduated from college, I was proud but as a sudden empty nester--I also had a profound sadness w/ such scattered family & that we would never be together again in the way we had been. One day I suddenly remembered a lovely woman from my church, who I was helping with her son who had profound cerebral palsy. As I sat with her she shared her thoughts & told me tho she was immensely grateful for all the kindness & help given to her by the church families---the hardest things for her was knowing she would never get to see her son learn to drive a car, graduate from college or get married. Remembering this made me take a step back & get some real perspective---she would have given literally everything she had to see her son graduate college and go off on his own--I just needed this little reminder to realize I was looking at all of this entirely w/ the wrong attitude & needed to give thanks & realize just how lucky I really was.
Hi from Annie, you look lovely in that boho top and the pig tails n straw hat. Nice to see you both chating in the garden that was good, it is nice to see Moosey as well in the videos. That super looks really delicious. Yes I go down memory lane all the time almost daily. It does feel sad all those years gone to where?? Wish we could bring back those good old times.... I am 66 and feel older at times the body seems to tell you what you can do at times but the trusting mind say hey I am younger and all that mental energy spins around and one gets excited etc then it meets the body and they have to have a little chat....to see what we actually can do. I am taking that same protein pwder you are it helps. . They only have it unflavoured at our chemist be nice in chocolate flavour? Cheers.
I think many feel that "aging melancholy" from time to time with the different changes that life brings to us all. But I don't think we need to feel guilty too when the feeling happens, it's just a natural part of missing what used to be. The important thing is to not stay sad like you said. We have to find our gratitude and let that melancholy feeling ride over us like a wave. It helps knowing that its a common part of aging to us all. Thanks for your honesty, Nanny, be blessed!
I understand what you are saying, my mind thinks I am still young, but my body says no way. It is not wrong to be melancholy and want some thing to be different sometimes. I think you have had an amazing life and you still have a very interesting life. I love the way you are always looking for new things to try and learn. I always love your videos. ❤
You are a very insightful woman and I love hearing your philosophies about life and aging I agree with you your makeup looks great and your charcuterie board looked so yummy
Oh Nanny. It's Malibu Sandy here. Thank you so much for your shout out. I was watching you pick up your dinner from Del Taco and my first thought was "I must find. Del Taco near me." Thank you for the shout out. I really appreciate it. At 83 I don't have the years to build up the audience. I love buying shrimp at Costco and using that on my Charcuterie board. Yes, to the frustration of peeling eggs. ❤❤❤
Yes, z moose and I love our shrimp on a charcuterie board ,too…Sandra…I feel the same way about my channel, too…perhaps we’ll never see that 100’000 plaque!!❤️
Nanny I feel the same memories are wonderful to reminisce, but sometimes it makes me feel sad because I know it’s not much going forward. I realize there are some things I just won’t be around to see Makes me sad, but we keep chugging along.😊❤
Have been caught up in our own life/family happenings of late and have neglected dropping in on yous...Genuinely missed your picker-upper energy (and I am 10+ years your junior)...Just as luck would have it, I come back to a rarest "melancholy moment"...How relatable this realization that one now looks at most of one's life lived and yet want to expectantly plan ahead. True that all things must pass ...yet, the challenge is to prolong its enjoyment for as long as we can...and savour every bit. Warmest salutations from Eastern Canada.
I am a widow of not quite 3 years and am 64 yrs old ,,, temporarily living with my daughter nd son n law. I got sick after a year of his death and was in the hospital for 3 months. My wounds have healed and am now out of the wheelchair and walking without a walker or cane. My children are almost finished with my bathroom remodel and re making every room in the house. I can’t Wait to go back home. It has been a year and 4 months since i’ve been at my house. They said i can’t see my house till the Big REVEAL. I DO know about Some of the changes, but they said there are some surprises in store🤗. They have Really worked hard ❤ I am Truly Blessed to have the children and Son n law that i have. ❤☦️💟
But Nanny, look at what you are accomplishing these days? Look at how you're affecting thousands and thousands. Give yourself some credit. Your doing something new. You're looking forward.
Yes,Sandra…I am very proud of this…especially when I read the comments of someone who really needed my video that day in her life. I think my life was soooo busy back in the day..raising the 6 kids, traveling , teaching, then grandkids coming so fast…that, in comparison…it does seem quite a bit slower…but do not fear….my mind is always going a mile a minute with new ideas about everything…and I think it always will.hugs, ❤️…still trying to get your Malibu Sandy look …❤️
Your wonderful videos always seem to come at the right time for me, I’m also realising that I am in the Autumn (fall) of my life and Winter is not far away, and it does take some acceptance to cope with that. I’m 82 and my hubby is 84 and we both have a few health issues, two children but no grandchildren, so our family is small. I’m always grateful for the life I have when so many more are lonely or depressed and I try to keep positive always, Count your blessings, was my Mums favourite saying and I say it over and over again. Thank you again my friend, God bless you both, with love from Sandra, x❤
I so understand melancholy. I keep wanting to study for a whole new career. Maybe it's possible? I'm 60 plus. I think if you feel frustrated don't. Many of us don't have homes, (I love your home), family (you have a great family) etc. or grandkids. That's not telling you off, but someone who is outside looking in..... you are so blessed. Go and decorate Nanny, do what you want, life is all about 'right now', so if you want to decorate then do it. I love your kitchen by the way!
Nanny, you and I both have led very busy lives centered on our children and husbands, travelled all over the world, and had many homes to enjoy and decorate. But, unlike you, my children were raised to be VERY independent; and, I'll be damned if they didn't grow up to be just that! My three all have great careers, but are all spread far and wide and rarely see their parents or their siblings. So I have developed a system of putting my memories of all the fun we had into mental "chapters in my book of life." When I pull out one of those chapters and reflect on those times with our kids, I feel grateful and satisfied that I had the good fortune to have those experiences that soooo many people don't. Then I put that chapter away on the shelf, so to speak, and go about my business of enjoying MYSELF❤
Hi Nanny, I think we are all in that melancholy mood from time to time. I saw Sandra’s video with her beach look and she did a great job. I hope your charcuterie board was good. It looked great. Take it easy in the heat. Love to you and Moosie❤
Wish I had known the cold water trick with boiled eggs a few days ago. What I do is crack or shatter the shells right after they are boiled and the shells peel off so easy but I was not feeling well. They were cold when I peeled them and you know what happened, they were lumpy where chunks of egg whites came off with the shells. Thank you for this tip. I will be boiling more eggs soon.
You are amazing, I'm only in my fifties and I feel melancholy about some of the same things. It's brings sad moments also thinking about parents aging as well.
I feel like this sometimes also. I sometimes can get depressed leading up to Christmas time as I get older. I can't do as much as I used to and can be frustrating. Makes me think of that song Melancholy Baby, Ella Fitzgerald and Perry Como used to sing. Maybe Moose can seranade you, to pull you out of your mood. He's a bit of a crooner. I love your Boho top. Perfect for hot summer days. Reminds me of the peasant tops of the sixties. Fun to see family photos of days gone by at your lake house, etc. Many happy memories, but like you say it can be bittersweet, because we're all doing something different now. You certainly have lived a rich, full life Nanny. You're just at a different stage. I am too. I was just out at a farmstand picking up some fresh produce, and ran into an old friend of my dad's who he worked with. He was also my principal when I was a kid in elementary school. He asked me to guess his age. I said seventy five. I told him I would have guessed younger but it didn't work out mathematically, as I'm sixtyseven, and he would have been around fifteen when he was my principal. He said he's eighty five. So I think he liked my guess. Anyway, we all have to remember to think the glass is half full. We're fortunate to be here. Have good health, nice food to eat, comfortable place to live, and you and Moose have that beautiful family around in your lives.(I know that you know this) I appreciate your sharing with us, as in my case very tiny amount of family around. I make the most of it. My nieces daughter is expecting a baby in February (Valentine's due date) So the cycle of life continues. Exciting time for our family. Although my niece says she's not going to be called Gramma, or even Glama. She's going to be Mimi or Nini, something like that. I love your charcuterie board! What a great idea for the hot summer weather. Excellent! I actually like to eat hors d'oeuvre type of food anytime of the year. As is easy especially because I am alone and don't feel like cooking always. Shamu looks so content on his special place on the piano, with the lace covered window. Perfect atmosphere for him to get in a nap. Thank you for the video.Take care and have a wonderful week. See you next time.MJ♥️🐈⬛🍓🍒🫒🍇🍅🥦🫓🧀🥓🫓🥤
Thanks for sharing today,MJ…it’s a good thing we can pull ourselves out of these temporary feelings…..today I am looking forward to lunch and crafting with Dubby on Friday. Have a good rest of the week, myFriend…❤️
I just made 74 yesterday and I feel the same!!! I can’t continue to ballroom dance because my husband isn’t well. I thank you for all the inspiration you have shared with us!! I feel the same at times but we keep going!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉❤️🙏🙋♀️
I feel the same Nanny.I miss it dearly..because that’s what I wanted with my husband..big family of 6 kids and lots of family events.good times and I’m grateful yet for sure I miss those times ..they were good, full of love and joy ♥️🇨🇦
Such a lovely video Nanny, I ask myself where did all the years go? It seems like only yesterday that my kids were babies….. now I am a great grandmother…. You are an inspiration Nanny , hugs to you both 🤗🤗♥️
I don't think a little melancholy is wrong at all. Its proof positive that you have the good grace to have had all those wonderful memories. BTY, I loved the blouse you were wearing while you were filming at the table. I love that you are doing more frequent videos again. Maybe Moosie could join a virtual book club? Maybe your libraries or senior citizen centers have one?
Hi Nanny It's ok to be melancholy at times but you know what the best part is that all that you have done in your life Just remember that you still have your metal state to be able to remember all those memories you could be in a state where you have no recall of the past at all Love to you and Moosie from Pearl Tasmania Australia 💞
Melancholy is a great descriptor. Not sad, but a kind of longing for the way things once were. Truth be told, I honestly like just being home with my animals and the things I enjoy doing. Yes a get out from time to time, and I love spending time with my grown children, but it’s always nice to come home. I guess it’s just a natural part of aging. I too am grateful for what I have, and where I’ve been. I love our chats, and checking in with Nanny and Moosie. And we need to see more of Shamu. What a dear little kitty. All the best Nanny. ❤
Great video. I enjoyed hearing about these topics. The one about us all getting older was something I needed to hear. You’re an Inspiration to me.❤ I also enjoyed yours and Mossie tell about you. Thank you both♥️
I’m a woman of color and blessed to become 72 yo in November and truly grateful to you for sharing your invaluable insight on life.
Thank you Nanny for your kind words. Overcome with tears 😂 of joy that you graciously responded to me. 😇🙏❤️ Becca
❤️❤️🙏🥰
Love this video Nanny! You keep me young with everything you do! You have such a zest for life and with every word you say, you help so many to stay active and happy! Thank you🙏🌸🌺🌼Love to you and Moosie‼️
Great conversation …. Life changes and from my view with family those traditions do change . Everyone wants to make their own traditions
I will be 75 this year, still mow 2 acres with push mower, weed wack garden, painted my garage last year, still do what I have done for years, splitting wood, etc. God is Good! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You go.,Girl…yes,Colleen…God IS good!❤️🙏…
Love this!
@@colleenlouise4521 Ohhh how I wish I cld do all those things again
I never think about ageing, even though i live alone with no family or siblings,i make the best of every day,and don’t dwell on the past
OMG. That's such a good attitude.
With no family or friends ,what do you do when you need a little extra help ?

Sending God’s blessings to you,my friend…TG for your sons…stay strong…Hugs,❤️🙏
Whimsical, nostalgic, melancholy, acceptance, gratitude. Yeah, that's what's happening to me, too. Glad to know I'm not alone in that headspace.
Being melancholic about a great life is reasonable 😊 we just can’t live in the past but visiting it in our memories is comforting.😊
I feel like 40 also…..the brain and thoughts are 40….the body is true to the 80 years that I turned yesterday! I still do water aerobics and arts and crafts. Love my family and hubby! I guess I am blessed to be here!
Yes, we are blessed Susan..happy belated birthday ❤️
I know the feeling. I am 74 and know there are not that many years ahead of me. I will be thrilled if I make it to 87. But you are fortunate to be so close to so much family. Mine is strewn to the four corners of the United States.
Hi. Marilyn…At 74 I was still full speed ahead…find what makes you happy…and go for it❤️
Marilyn, you can choose to live to 120, according to Genesis 6.
@@elizabethsydnor5247 Yes, this is a great way to live. I agree.
Well said,Candy…your mom was a wise woman...thanks for sharing///❤️
Not everyone has a happy loving family that wants to get together. You are truly BLESSED!
We thank the Lord every day, Elizabeth…🥰❤️
Thanks. Fran, for your comment…I agreee.❤️
It’s a good thing to think about the years gone by, but now you and Moose have time together and you have this time to enjoy and love one another.
Nanny, my Mother is 88 and she can't remember all of those good times. While you are giving thanks for those times, be happy you can remember them. I hope you keep those good times in your memory to the end. You are like the Mom that used to be there for me and I appreciate you.
I am so sorry, Lisamarie, that your mom’s memories are gone…but you will keep them for her…Hugs❤️
It’s not wrong Nanny! 😊
It’s called NOSTALGIA! 🥰
What a nice thing you did for your parents, Allison…Thanks for sharing.🥰
It’s not wrong to feel melancholy Nanny. Those sweet memories you look back on keep your mind sharp. 💜I do the same from time to time. The fun we had in days gone by are precious memories ❤
Thanks for understanding, Susan…❤️
This video was GOLD!! I am going to re-Watch it over & over!! Love you & thank you!!
Thank you,Rosie, for your lovely. Comment..hoping tomorrow is a better day for you.Hugs,❤️
Hi Rosie I 100% agree ! Have a lovely Day 🌞
Accrptance and gratitude❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Don’t forget that you have those memories to hold dear until the end of life. So many people do not have anywhere near the wonderful family gatherings and trips you have had to look back on. I marvel at the gatherings you have had just since I’ve been watching you on TH-cam! Thank you for sharing since we all have similar times of melancholy and regrets. You are a blessing to so many!
Thanks you, Mary Anne for your very nice comment.❤️
SAME HERE..I AGREE!! 💯👍
Your life sounds like mine! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Listening to certain songs on the radio, reminding me of exciting times, gives me that melancholy feeling. I can relate. We do bounce back!
Thank you, Elizabeth❤️
Nanny, you will think I have two heads but I'm just an 80 year old introvert. I love nothing to do and no place to be. The thought of going somewhere during the week is actually a chore I dread. Yes, of course, I miss the days of young children occassionally but I now relish my alone time hobbies. Plus, I don't have your energy. You are amazing. Your energy in day is mine for a month, I think. Haha. I love watching your videos. It's a trip out for me. Maybe I'm living vicariously through you. That must be it. 😀
Love your spirit, my friend!❤️

I really love your cottage..It is so unique and cozy. You make it so inviting..I would love staying there.
Filll your happiness with knitting and crocheting for the grandchildren.
Thank you thank you ! The charcuterie board is AWESOME & AMAZING! GOD bless nanny & moose! ❤😊❤
I thank you for that.❤
Hi Nanny,
I think it is very normal to have those feelings.
So I choose to be grateful every day for my health, my family, a beautiful day, etc and to understand
that every day, every year is truly a gift. Love to you both and keep on truckin’. ❤😊
I get that same feeling as your mom did, Bobbie…only now not only are some in their 40’s and 50’s …but 3 in their 60’s! ❤️
Moosey has such a dry sense of humour he makes me smile😊
Thanks for keeping things real.
You go ,Girl…I am so proud…thank you for sharing this and I hope many women read this and realize what THEY can do too.❤️
🥂 Congratulations Karen!

Good day/evening
When its hot for supper sometimes.. we..
1. cook pasta, drain it.
It all sounds delicious! I do cold pastas and Mediterranean salads ,too,Hilda…thanks for sharing…❤️

Yes, Teresa…all is ok …give yourself a Pat on your back… and all is well.❤️
Some of us never had those wonderful memories or family. Please be grateful for what you do have.
Every day,Elizabeth…as I have said many many times…🙏❤️
40 being old! It's positively babyish. Age is so relative. You sound much better than the president. Great wishes to you.
I really enjoy your channel, you have such a great way of expressing your feelings about aging and how to accept what we cannot change. You are an inspiration and I am so glad I found your channel.
Hello Nanny. Let’s all be 40!! …Sometimes! Only for the energy and no wrinkles. Let’s anticipate in occasions - as Moosie says I like to
Have one thing a week!- it can be a holiday.
Well said, Elizabeth…thank you for sharing…❤️
Nanny, after watching this vireo a second time, I remembered I had some of the Loreal Lumi Glotion 902. This morning while getting ready for my Mammo I tried it again. It does give you the fresh "Beachy" look. I applied a little blush and out the door I went. I applied over Drmtology Tinted Sunscreen. Thanks for bringing this great product up. Blessings to you from Texas.
I’m guess this proves that we should check out our stashes every so often, doesn’t it,my friend… my darker one arrived today…anxious to try it.🥰
Shamu is ADORABLE!
Your such a cutie pie ❤
I also had a big, wonderful family. I appreciated that when I had it and
miss it a lot now.
Well said, Nancy…thank you.❤️
Your charcuterie board looks fabulous!
What a beautiful comment, Charlotte!❤️
Thanks for being here, my friend…you’re just beginning a beautiful life!❤️
Well, Nanny, at age 70, I realize that life is about reinventing ourselves.
Yes, Andrea…it really is about acceptance, isn’t it?❤️
It's all about perspective.
I love buying shrimp at Costco and using that on my
Charcuterie board. Yes, to the frustration of peeling eggs. ❤❤❤
Yes, z moose and I love our shrimp on a charcuterie board ,too…Sandra…I feel the same way about my channel, too…perhaps we’ll never see that 100’000 plaque!!❤️
You look beautiful and that hat is so pretty on you.
Nanny I feel the same memories are wonderful to reminisce, but sometimes it makes me feel sad because I know it’s not much going forward. I realize there are some things I just won’t be around to see Makes me sad, but we keep chugging along.😊❤
Yes,we do Concetta…thankfully! ❤️
They have Really worked hard ❤
I am Truly Blessed to have the children and Son n law that i have. ❤☦️💟
Yes, you are blessed, Lucia…sending love and prayers as you prepare to live back in your home in good health..❤️🙏
@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose ThankYou. God Bless You and Moose ☦️💟🛐
Love all Nanny presents to us!
You can use a spoon to help roll the egg shell off of the hardboiled eggs. Usually slides off easily.
At 60+,, my friend…you have a whole lifetime ahead of you…Go for it, Girl.❤️

I’ll be 77 in September and I understand where you’re coming from ❤
Thanks ,Lois, for your understanding…❤️
💕💚💙
You should be very happy Nannyi!!!
Your cottage is perfect for the two of you
Hi Nanny, I think we are all in that melancholy mood from time to time.
I loved Red Lobster! I'm in Canada and there are no Red Lobsters anymore. They all closed a decade or more ago. 💔💔

I’m so with you, Ann..thanks for sharing.❤️
Very good video Nanny!!
Ps I love smoked salmon on rye bread for breakfast.
LOVE LOVE smoked salmon…❤️
Hi Nanny
It's ok to be melancholy at times but you know what the best part is that all that you have done in your life
Just remember that you still have your metal state to be able to remember all those memories you could be in a state where you have no recall of the past at all
Love to you and Moosie from Pearl Tasmania Australia 💞
Nanny i loved this video you are an inspiration... your charcuterie board looked so yummy... Take are in the Heat ❤❤❤
Less is more! Hallelujah!🤗👍❤
I am a grazer too!
Thanks so much, Joyce for sharing your feelings.❤️
Great video. I enjoyed hearing about these topics. The one about us all getting older was something I needed to hear. You’re an Inspiration to me.❤ I also enjoyed yours and Mossie tell about you. Thank you both♥️
Thank you, Nanny, for another wonderful visit. ❤
