Welcome to the official TH-cam channel of Nikol Johnson!💄
My Channel empowers women to show up and be BOLD, FIERCE, and Unapologetic. I talk a lot about this in my book Beauty Reinvented, available through Amazon! It's not just about going gray young; it's about a powerful movement for women to break out and have NO BEAUTY RULES.
➡️ None of what I show on this channel is what “mainstream” TH-cam makeup tutorials will show you. Instead of telling you to put loads of makeup on (which makes you look like a different person), I want to show you how to “reveal” the beauty that you already have and teach you how to look GREAT while still looking like yourself.
Many women feel that their beauty and radiance diminish as the years go by. I don’t believe this. You can stay beautiful, confident, and fabulous even if you’re past 40, 70, 80, or 100 years of age.
➡️ No matter your background or age, my goal is to help you on your journey. Whether through make-up/skin-care tutorials, product reviews, or health/wellness advice. I want to empower (and teach) women to show up, be BOLD, FIERCE, and unapologetic.
Are you ready to embrace your authentic self- and start making YOUR OWN BEAUTY RULES? Subscribe to my channel NOW! 🔔
📆 I am so happy to see you each week on Mondays and Thursdays at 10 AM EST.

I am 75 and lucky to be aging well. I have continued to always use makeup, but feel like I’m less attractive as I have gotten older , and began to look older. The realization that I am “invisible “ has just hit me in the last several months as I DO feel like people in stores, etc just see through me now.
I am older than you and I also always use makeup every day. It is a great morale booster. I think you are underestimating yourself and you should not think that you are invisible and you should enjoy yourself with looking your best. I had a good day today - a store assistant called me “Miss” and no one on the subway stood up to offer me their seat, lol. You take the wins when you get them.
I feel the same way. I am 75 too.
I'm 75 also and I agree. Even the medical field-- I don't know if they figure we are going to die soon any way, so
why bother, or what.
I hate store clerks calling me sweetheart or dear! I'm not a child. If they call everyone dear or honey, then it's alright. I knew a lady that called everyone darlin, she was just a sweet lady.
I’m 79 and haven’t really noticed that. Maybe because I live in a small community.
Agree 💯
True what she said. “People are nicer to pretty people”🌺
Not always, sometimes they are cruel because of jealousy, sad but true!
Do you think our grandma and great grandma felt this way too ?
Yes, but they didn't date voice it. @@debschmidt1496
I first heard “pretty privilege” from a 20 year old girl - friend of my son’s - a few years ago when I asked someone to do something for us and the person did. I thought it was because I asked nicely. I never thought I was pretty and I thought she made up the expression. But then I learned that it’s a thing, well documented and studied - attractive people make more money, get more stuff, have more opportunities, etc. It’s really wrong - but true.
@@terrymatsusaki9032 Inwas told this and experienced it until I had a disfiguring surgery! It turned my whole world upside down. Suddenly I was on the other side and I was treated 100% differently! It was devastating but a HUGE wake-up call! I realized how superficial the world had become, but how I didn’t think I was wrapped up in it; however, I relied on it more than I thought I did. It may be true that sometimes people are jealous and don’t like you, but, believe me, they are far fewer! It doesn’t turn your life upside down!
Just started watching, I can already say, Jo nailed it!!!..people are always nicer to prettier people!!!..Finally!!!!…someone said it out loud!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
yes that comment spoke volumes!!!!
@@lindamarocco4583 at 77 I don't care what people think about if I don't wear makeup but would love to look better for my self not others
Absolutely that's why attractive women attract handsome men. That's life. Unless of course if the man is a multi millionaire and looks like the back of a bus!!!!
@dianapeek6936 the saying ' don't judge the book by its cover' if the multimillionaire has a face like the back of a bus is kind, has a sense of humour, and is good to small animals he's a winner. If the m.m is very good looking but is nasty, has no manners and doesn't respect women unless you are a gold digger he has no REAL value. I don't wear makeup anymore, too time consuming and expensive; also I would rather be seen for who I am and how I actually look. This way there is no shock for how I look in the morning
Dressing well helps.
NEVER travel in flip-flops ops and shorts/Tee Shirt
Always be presentable, as professional as possible.
IF plane had an emergency… how are you going to evacuate and survive in Flips and Flammable fabrics?
Don’t know if you have never been told.
All the women on this series look so polished and lively after their makeover. And dare I say younger. Makeup is a powerful tool that allows older women to look relevant and feel good. Thank you for sharing these videos.
Jo has a lot of wisdom, that's for sure. She hit the nail on the head when she said makeup is a tool for getting respect. On a personal level, I know that as someone who is not particularly naturally attractive, I command far more respect when I make the effort to enhance what I *do* have with makeup and the appropriate clothing. (And, more importantly, I have more SELF respect.) It really does get you farther in life, and I wish more women thought the way Jo does. And her look is beautiful!
Well said!
... and I think that's sad that you have more 'self-respect' for yourself when you wear make-up.
Nikol is always so genuinely kind and respectful. A genius make-up artist and lovely woman.
Jo, thank you for volunteering to be Nikol's model. The color tones she used enhanced your natural beauty and tied in the color of your shirt, which looks so good on you! Nikol, it was nice to see the redness corrector used over a large area to really see the effect. Thank you both!
She looks fresh and spunky and I love the brows! What a difference brows make and her eye color is gorgeous! Your color choices really brought out her eyes.
The brows are beautiful!!! The skin looks so fresh!!! What a great video!!! Well done NIkol!
Her left eyebrows lighter than the right one
She looks fabulous! I am 71 and have determined that less is more at this age but we can still look our very best and feel good about ourselves. I love learning new makeup applications and I love that you are so willing to show us how to be our best. Thank you, Nicol!
Less is more over 30
@@Thepw1 true I’m 70 and less is more
Very pretty and natural
It is our society that is at fault. Years ago families lived together or close by. Elders were respected. Today corporations cater to the young. It is sad. Children grow up, move away and never seem to have time for their parents. This is why I appreciate Nikol. She has inspired me to go grey, silver and white! Who knew I had such a great natural frosted look! I love it! Her makeup and makeup tips make me feel great! I have had more compliments than when I colored my hair. I just turned 70 and I am so glad I found Nikol!
Thank you Nikol. I'm 68 and I love this channel.
I was a teacher as well. The fluorescent lighting makes anyone look harsher in the school room. I agree, the makeup helped me feel prettier and more awake. It’s a tough job. Any little bit helps. She looks great.
Retired teacher here as well. It's so true what you say. Children really do "analyze" us from our hair, nails, and jewelry.
Hi Nikol, at 67, I totally agree that makeup makes a huge difference in my appearance. I agree with everything Jo said! I feel ‘pale and old’ without my makeup on. I feel more confident when I am made up to face the day. Thanks for using your talents as a pro makeup artist to teach your brave fierce aging ladies how to use makeup to look their best and feel more confident! The world can be very harsh to ‘women of a certain age’ and makeup is key to looking as vibrant as we still feel. ❤
Me too I feel ‘pale and old’ without my makeup on and def feel more confident when I am made up for the day. Oh and I'm 73!
Jo, you look so refreshed… energized for the 7th decade! You are ready to take it on! Nikol, great makeup with choices to keep Jo’s natural beauty and adding in a few things to amp it up if she wants to. I know that the trend, especially with social media, has been elevating young and “perfection”, but I do see change happening with regard to people being fed up with the superficiality. People feeling exhausted trying to “keep up”. I think the more people see others embracing aging and maturity with self respect, and self-live, the more it’ll catch on again. The more people see that the trend to remain “young” is really a money grab and totally devaluing the person as a human being! ❤
Nikol ,you have given the lovely Jo an elegant and glamorous look!! Beautiful !!🙏💕
She looks so pretty and I can tell she feels better about herself and more confident. You go girl.
❤I SEE ME though!!!! I am seeing MYSELF in a much more positive light now after watching Nikol's channel. My outlook has shifted to me caring about what *I* think and not how others see me. I'm excited to turn 60 next week, and I've got a beautiful box of Nikol beauty to kick off my new decade. My shopping bag is full again too so more to come.🎉
She looked great. It’s amazing how well the green corrector neutralized the red. I love makeup.
I’m 76, was young in the sixties when eyeliner was probably at its height of fashion. I got very good at a fine or thick eyeliner, now a Smokey eye look suits me better as my hands are not so steady anymore, and of course, my skin is now a bit wrinkly.
Me to young in the 60s and wore the thicker black eyeliner, being dark haired(yes dyed!) and brown eyes I still wear eyeliner only much thinner applied and only outer corners, have learnt over the yrs. to enhance my makeup being clever with eyeshadow and applying a very fine line of same colour under bottom lid eyeliner as I applied on upper lid. Plus Temu 3D fibre mascara gives the false eyelash look even on the finest eyelashes .
Have you seen the liner that is in a tube like lipstick?
I am 77 and I do smokey eye look
I appreciated her pointing out that people are kinder to more attractive people. And it isnt just men who are guilty of this subconscious bias, it was evident in the women I worked with and our female clients. This is why I finally, at age 40, started wearing a full face of makeup.
Even though I do wear makeup now, having experienced some hurtful encounters has helped me be more careful in the way I treat others. The frumpiest women could be doctor doing cutting edge research in the fight against cancer, and the prettiest woman could be a convicted murderer! 😅
Its scientifically proven that people are attracted to those with symmetrical features -- you're right about attractive people.
Im 67 and have watched you for years. Through your trials and tribulations and thank you for this. If i was wealthy id purchase every product you have. You're a professional and wonderful gift. Thank you❤
Wow, thank you
What a sweet lady! Gracious but honest. 💜 I did not realize how lovely her eye color is, but the instant you did her brows, the blue just glowed. The darker lashes (even with just mascara) enhanced them even more. I joke when heading to the makeup mirror, “I have to go find my eyebrows!” If nothing but brows, mascara, lipgloss and spot concealer gets applied, I still notice a big difference and feel more polished. Maybe then my own attitude helps people “see” me? But even if they don’t, I feel better about myself. Thank you for always ALWAYS making my day better Nikol.
LOL I always tell my sister I can't go out without my eyebrows on! I'm 73.
Her makeup looks great. I continue to learn from your tutorials. Thank you.❤
WOW What a difference! She has such a regal look about her - very striking lady. 💕
With the brows and eyes done it balances the face. Pretty.
Благодаря, Никол, за нагледното разкрасяване на тази симпатична дама👌🏽. Ти си вълшебница👏🏽😘‼️
I really enjoy these tutorials. I turned 62 years young last week. I’m going out to celebrate with friends this evening. Will incorporate the eyeliner technique.
Thank you!
❤❤😊😊
Happy Birthday! 🎈🎉🎂
@@guestguest2030 thank you! 😊
Beautiful! She looks so natural! Just lovely!
I don't think they see us at all, poof disappeared.
I've noticed that the vast majority of young people completely ignore me. It's as if they don't hear or see me
We need to live strong. Look your best, stand as tall as you can, head up, eyes smiling and greeting those around you. People respond and see you. Imagine the example you set for the younger ones! We are so strong and powerful!
i used to feel invisible, but now I am working on shining the light of my strength and knowledge. We know how to be kind and can really bring that to our not always so kind world.
@@deannalively4778 that happens but shine your light and smile and kindness and they will flock to you as those things may be missing in their lives.
I’m glad to hear someone else say that we are not noticed when we get older all people see in older people is how poorly they drive how bent over they are when we walk how forgetful we are or senile it’s all Criticizing I’m 78 don’t look to bad get around pretty good always wear my makeup dress good enough and it’s like I don’t exist I can remember when people looked at me now not an old person or young or even a child gives me a glance🤷♀️
@@Bodiy SAME!
Her comment about the world being nicer to pretty people is so, so, so true. I noticed this particularly as I moved through menopause -- and it became even more noticeable as I transitioned to silver hair. Makeup definitely produces more positive responses and interactions.
Pink toned eye shadow seems very popular with influencers recently. However, it seems to me that this just adds back the redness and discoloration that was just hidden with the eyelid primer. Am I missing something when choosing the tone?
@@lynnrMcR627 I agree. I don't find the pink look flattering at all.
@@SHR2002 think it depends on colour of eyes, I use pinks and purples ,I have brown eyes
@@user-mt7zm2iq6f I have hazel eyes. But you must do what makes you feel happy and confident!
Eyebrows frame our face...they are a must!! Sometimes i just do my eyebrows and lipstick!!
Jo looks amazing!…you just brought her beauty to the forefront!!..Great job, Nikol!!!…the eyelashes look fantastic on her, too!…you nailed it, Nikol!!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you so much!!
Wow! She looks beautiful!
Vibrant
I appreciate that you've kept this series! It really shows how beauty comes in all ages ❤
As I make up my list, I really wanted to thank you for your wonderful cosmetic line. I've shared my enthusiasm with so many people. You're a genius. I've never had such wonderful results. Thank you!
I know! Isn't Nikol's makeup the best? It's pretty much all I use now.
I've really been enjoying your videos as you celebrate reality.
Awwwww, Jo is so pretty and the makeup highlighted her best features and brought out her beautiful, kind eyes. God bless you, both.
Boy, she looks so beautiful!
I worry about my health. I'm caring for my 94 year old dad with dementia and have little to no time for myself. Thanks for caring about older women.❤
I am sorry to hear about your dad. It’s incredibly hard to be a caretaker and care for yourself but it’s imperative that you do. Sending love and prayers to you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🩷🩷
Been there and its hard because you're so tired all the time. Sorry. Be kind to yourself when you can.
If you are caring for your elderly father who has dementia, you are a HERO! It takes another caretaker to fully comprehend another caretaker. The Lord said we are to honor our fathers and mothers. That’s exactly what you are doing. However, you MUST guard your own health and well being.
There must a few others in the family who can give you some help with your father’s care. I would ask them to sit with him so you can simply rest, sleep or go out for a very long walk - whatever it is that you need. If you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t help others. And you must have periods of respite so you can survive physically and mentally.
I also understand that many times other family members won’t help you. There’s usually just one who does all the caretaking. If this is your case, I am so sorry. I pray that you have the strength, stamina and a good mind to get from one day to the other. If your dad is a veteran, he may qualify for aid to place him in assisted living/memory care. Right now my mom is in assisted living and it’s a wonderful place with many friends. She doesn’t know me anymore but that’s ok.
I will pray for you to receive the help and assistance you need.
“Lord Jesus, please support my new friend here. She is tired and she is spent. Please provide the necessities that she needs to care for her father and to also care for herself. Send her the help she needs and the courage to ask for it. I ask that her family members are able to clearly see this situation and offer her the support she needs. I also ask for dignity and peace for this father. He is very low and does not understand his own surroundings. Only You can provide what he needs.
I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, the name above every other name, Amen.”
Take care. God bless you and your father.
Every episode, every woman in my opinion, you can see their confidence climbing with each step of makeup… anyone else notice that?…I would be exactly the same if it was me sitting there!
Absolutely true about how people look at you differently as you move into your 70's.
I can say i have now enjoyed looking at my younger self and appreciating the years i turned heads and the attention i was given from men and women.
When i apply makeup I'm not sure if im doing it right and I'm not comfortable with makeup anymore. Sometimes i go without because i don't feel anyone sees me . But i know im not in this boat alone

Really beautiful makeup on this lovely woman. I hope she feels pretty and happy.
Beautiful look. Soft and not overdone. I’ve been living in Taiwan for the past 11+ years and it’s difficult to find cosmetics here. I’m 73 and have a lot of wrinkles. When I was younger people said I looked like Jamie Lee Curtis! I did go through modeling school and learned how to use cosmetics. Unfortunately, they just don’t work so well anymore! I appreciate your videos that give me hope in applying cosmetics in new ways! Thank you!❤
81 year old fan. I love your videos and vlogs. They are so inspiring. And your products are wonderful.
I’m 74 and I feel makeup is an essential part of good grooming. I have enjoyed your video.
I think it came out really nice. Not over done. Just right for a make-up look on an older gal.
Love your aging series. As a 64 year young Grandmother of 10 I still love fashion, makeup and hair styles. I just returned from a 2 week European vacation traveling alone and seeing how other countries view older women. It seems Americans view aging as a dreaded disease but Europeans celebrate, respect as well as revere older women. Kuddos to your service to us women of a “certain age”
Jo looks refreshed and polished without looking hard. You did another great makeover! With Jo's redness, what is the thought behind the pink/plum eye makeup? Thank you for teaching us color theory and application techniques!
Jo looks gorgeous. She makes 70 look amazing 😍
Nikol, you nail it every time with the brows!!!!..still watching!❤
I love these videos and all the wonderfully interesting women you interview.
Love Jo’s intelligence, and she looks beautiful. ❤
Jo is very striking the makeup enhanced her natural beauty
I’m an old hippie here. Still rarely wear makeup but love seeing you transform other women
She really looked great. Thanks for the brow application technique, I need that.
Thank you for creating the stunning makeup on Jo❣️
My identical twin and I have Lupus and Rosacea. We have difficulty trying to determine what color BB cream to use on our fair skin. Nikol, your technique looks wonderful. I use the peach and green color correctors, already.
lovely, just lovely. Hmm now I want that blush too lol.
She looks beautiful both ways. The way you add The makeup it just accents her beauty (which I love). Thank you for another wonderful show
She looks great, fresh faced, light not heavy or cakey.
I am an artist and have painted with oils, faces, figures - and your skills remind me of the things we think and do when creating the skin and how light works on it to make a portrait "live".
Jo’s brows look realistic, not big ‘scary eyes’ brows. She looks lovely. I’m going to take more time with my make up instead of the 5 minute rush that I currently do. Thank you!
Carol looks absolutely beautiful and natural with a gentle touch of makeup!! Well done, both of you 👏🏻👏🏻🌹
Such a Blessing you are to so many ladies.. So happy I found this channel. It has encouraged me and helped in my aging process myself.
I love this tutorial. That's the look I can do with just a little practice. Thanks to you both. Special thanks to Jo for sharing her beauty.👏
OMGOSH, that’s so true! People r nicer to attractive people ❤ Thanks Jo❤
Beautiful!! I love this series & always learn something!! Rock on with your bad self!!❤
My goodness - I loved this video as Nikol's voice is soft and soothing and I learned so much. Jo's make-over is wonderful, she looks put together but natural.
Just doing the eyebrows made such a difference.
Called the invisible generation
Thanks to people like Nikol, hopefully, we can start to change that faulty mindset!
Wow her eyes look amazing!
@kathymitchell7896 I agree, Kathy! Jo looks fabulous! Not overdone. Fresh!
I like the idea of how to do the invisible eye brows. Mom gave me wispy thin eyebrows. And trying to figure out color with white hair when it used to be brown. I had guessed at the following the hairs to fill in. But did not know how to make them look a little fuller with out looking like a thin pencil line brow. I see too many old ladies like that and making too much of an arch. I never wore make up before just for the eyes. Now I have fun blending colors to fill in discoloration of the skin. Thank my daughter for teaching me that my painting skills can be used on my face! And not looking like you have a ton of make up on. Just evening the color.
I love your videos. Thank you for showing older women as still-vibrant people.
That before and after is amazing!
Jo, you look awesome!! Very natural!
Jo looks Beautiful and more rested. Great job Nikkol
I am 76,and have aged well,i have practically always used makeup, which i love and it makes a tremendous difference,i feel better it stops the "pale, and tired look"it gives confidence, and there are wonderful products, fun to go through, and experiment
Love seeing all the different makeovers...they all look natural and great
You have brought out Jo's beauty! She looks absolutely stunning, and it's a very classy subtle look.
Wow, Jo looks stunning!
She looks so beautiful. Well done for taking part. Xx
Such a stunning woman.
I love the colour and the cut of Jo`s hair. It`s adorable.
Great makeup and transformation.
Thanks for the inspiration :)
I'm probably to late leaving a comment that you'll see Nikol but I'll give it a try. I'm 73 to begin. Retired. My lifestyle has changed dramatically .... work clothes needed in a business environment no longer needed. I know you're not a "slouchy" person (sometimes as we age one gets into a sweat suit stage ... I did (emotional/psychological/ etc.) I know I'm not the only one. I'm out of that but if I'm not doing anything special or going out with friends for a quick lunch I'm not putting on the Ritz! But I want to look nice. Would love to see how you would apply makeup for everyday. If I do say so myself my "slouchy" look is always right on trend minus the cut/ragged sleeves and holes in the jeans. Can't help myself I love oversized T Shirts and Amazon has some great ones 😍
Ummm…if I had a couple hours to fufu my face, great …. But there are waaaay toooo much product and I don’t have the time to switch from tool to tool and you’re mixing so many why not just make it all in one? I’d look great too if I had a professional do my face every day😮nice, but too many steps and products for my lifestyle
I agree ... way too many products ... I put on a tiny slick of eyeliner and I'm good to go.
If you truly had a “passion” for this you would actually find the time spent as therapeutic
Each to his own IMO

Wow, came across this video by chance. What an excellent tutorial. I love wearing eye makeup but cannot get my very sparce eyebrows right. When I colour them in it makes me look hard and severe. Your model looked amazing after your application of make up on her 👏👏👏👏👏❤️🐸
Jo looks more polished, and her natural beauty is enhanced. I'm fascinated by color correction, and it was done so well. I also have light brows and was unsure about adding a touch of color to define them. But now I can't imagine NOT doing it because it truly adds framing and definition that all of us aging ladies need. I love makeup! ❤️
Lady looks really nice and natural. I think one of the things that is an issue for older ladies ( I am 67) is the look of tiredness
Beautiful! Unbelievable how Jos eyes absolutely pop after! Love it!
Thank you! Cheers!
What a lovely lady! Beautiful
What a transformation ! She looks lovely.

Beautiful end results! I hope she will get used to the brows because they look perfect, definitely not too much!
Devo dire che era già una bella signora, ma l’intervento di Nikol, è stato stupefacente!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🫶🏻🫶🏻
Very lovely. Great look!
You did an amazing job with Jo’s makeup. She looked beautiful before, but even more beautiful after. Honestly, the eyebrows made a huge difference. As a blonde myself, I struggle with getting my brows to look good. Great job!
