+Renée Scarcella One thing is being introvert and one thing is becoming lazy at being social. The point has gone so big that calling for a pizza is starting to get very 20th century...now people need internet app to text pizza hut...or they don't get pizza, because they are scared of talking to the pizza girl. (Facepalm)
I agree with this 100% and add another 10% for the spontaneous events portion. Rachel you are 110% accurate on what an introvert is like. I'm glad to be a part of the ginger army xD keep up the amazing work!
I was unknowingly trained to be an introvert It started when I became aware of this world I think I was over stimulated by extraverts so I wanted the opposite. Parent make me think a lot.
I'm working on being more adaptable with social things, like changing plans last minute or going to things when I don't know exactly how to get there (or even worse I am unable to get there 10 minutes early with 15 minutes getting lost time and 10 minutes to account to lack of accountability with public transport). I can relate to everything you said SO much!
As an extroverted introvert, I can relate to all of these. However, I can talk to people without being awkward, but it's draining all the time. Plus, I need some quiet time to recharge and just chill. So if I'm not talkative one day and all bubbly the next, it was me recharging and not being rude or anything.
Yes and from my experience of dating extroverted females as a introverted heterosexual male is that females already have hive like behavior and their friends dont know when its time to find hobbies, interests, significant others or just go home.
The spontaneous thing is a hit or miss thing with me. I can totally be spontaneous with close friends but if it's more of a large group spontaneous decision I'm like nah I'm gonna stay away. I actually really like getting feedback on my work, but that may be because I'm a writer myself. That doesn't mean I don't get shy and nervous as all hell though. But I love when people love what I write!
That one point that you made with constantly wanting to know what the plan is or something like that, I TOTALLY RELATE to that!!!! I always have to know what's going on and I love structure. Originally, when I took the Myers Briggs personality test, I was an INTP (Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving) and i looked at the traits of INTPs and Perceiving types tend to go with the flow. And now I'm thinking that I'm an INTJ (Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking, Judging) Judging types love structure and are creatures of habit. Which sounds like me. Idk which one I really am: INTP or INTJ? The first three letters are the same, but it's the last letters that are interesting. Anyways, I know where you're coming from with the whole constantly wanting to know things. You're not alone 😂😉
I can relate to everything except the (lack of) spontaneity. I think that just comes down to a personality trait introverts are more likely to have, but isn't directly related.
I don't really consider myself an introvert though. I do have legitimate introvert traits, but I also have legitimate extrovert traits. Any test, quiz, or expert would accuse me of being an introvert, but it's actually social anxiety.
Im that kind of introvert that Hates Phone calling especially with stranger's Being in large groups Getting to much information thrown at me especially in public (trains and stuff ) if you have that problem to just listen to music it will calm you down and helps you ignoring people around you I like having time alone to calm down and relax Working with children (makes me happy ) Spend time with my pet (I think an introverts best friend is his pet ) Doing stuff with my friends
I'm an introvert, but I can do things on a whim with no problem. I guess it helps that I'm a nomad by nature and love to explore new places I've never been. So that spontaneous snow boarding trip is a non issue for me. I'll probably be flying solo anyway. Chances are the trip was my idea to begin with. But, I do prefer to spend the majority of my time alone just doing whatever pops into my twisted little head. I also rarely feel lonely and I don't get board easily. There's just to much to see and do.
4:30 that reminds me my inner-self just after waking up in the morning (before i can take my shower and my brekfast) when there's an extravert doing "extraverts things" near me xD
This is so me and people think I'm rude or weird like no I'm jist trying to figure you out. At work I'm happy smiling and like heyy outside I'm like yeah don't talk to me
You are a lovely, amusing, and hilarious speaker! Thank you for this. I died when you said, "a rare sponge from the bottom of the sea" lol, that's me! Your video was both informative and entertaining; you' seem delightful!
About the issue of spontaneity, it really depends for me because I've also had times when my friend asked me out like an hour or two before we meet up on the same day (sometimes, I'm the one doing that but that only happens once in a million years) but I agreed anyway because: 1) I've got nothing better to do 2) My parents dislike me staying home so much anyway and 3) I'm pretty close to that friend So I basically didn't have a reason not to go out. But don't misunderstand me about the first point. Pretty much all the time, doing nothing is my "something to do". I've actually scheduled to literally do nothing and stay holed up in my room and that's my absolute favourite thing to do.
The woman said Oh So YOU ARE ONE OF THEM TO,,,,,,,,That reminded me of a person I did not know particularly well but had not seen for years, He came up to me and said-You USED TO BE William Redfern didn't you ??, so I replied yes I USED to be,,,, his reply to that was What are you now ??, I said I STILL am,,,, He was not amused I could see,
When at parties or get togethers, there is this horrible knot at the back your mind or was it the fore front of your lobes, you get that feeling of awkwardness when are around new people. I know what they say about talking yourself out of being an introvert and to express yourself as an extrovert. It helps and eventually you will need those extroverted skills if you work at a corporate gig. Or not, and be a techie, pack on over the ear headphones w/ your favorite music and work through everyone's BS. Best of luck
I'm an introvert and I can't stand going to clubs, or parties at that. I don't mind going to events that revolve around topics like politics. However, I spend time in my room by myself quiet half the time singing the next. Yet, even when i worked in retail I didn't talk often to customers or my fellow co-workers.
The spontaneous thing is an issue for me too. Lol, I don't mind it but I'm a planner so I'm the kind of person who has to know what I'm doing a little bit in advance.
Some was spot on . but i am not like a cat . i need a extrovert to talk to me to bring my shyness out ... Also i am okay with spontaneous plans with my close friends. You sound like you jump from being a extrovert and introvert which is kind of what i do depending on how comfortable i am
I truly hate when you walk into Moe's Southwest Grill (I think that's the name of the place) and they shout - "WELCOME TO MOE'S". The first time I turned around and walked out. The second time I tolerated it somewhat but actually stayed and ordered. The food sucks so I definitely won't go back. Being put on the spot as soon as you walk in the door and then receive "Southwestern"/Tex-Mexish food with no spices or flavor....that was enough.
My next door neighbor is an introvert and i only recently came to know her a bit over the course of a day. I've been looking at video's like these for 3 days now just to learn all i can about it. But all i can think of is: how can i best approach her. In the end i guess (or so i think) she doesn't want anything to do with me because i'm "scary" I'll look up the book that was mentioned in the beginning of the video and hopefully i'll learn some more things about how to best approach her. She really made an impression on me but i'm so conflicted on how to " make the first move" as i just don't now how she will take it. I guess it depends on how much of an introvert she is ?
If you haven't already worked past this, maybe try writing her an interesting funny note and let her read it on her own time. If she writes you one back you're in.
Your English is really good Amy. I have found that a social life grows slowly when there are small steps of good experiences with people who are mature emotionally. Even talking on a video can be alot easier than talking in real life. But, I have always been more social in public and not very shy. But I definitely recharge and process alone. I have to have downtime and some solitude. But for me, growing in real relationships is like getting exposure, then tolerance and then finding it's not so bad and then actually liking it and protecting the balance of being with people and recharging alone. Hope that helps. Email if you have more questions. koniefar@hotmail.com.
There's actually no such thing. It can be anybody who has the intuitive (N) parameter of the MBTI. I also once classified myself as an ambivert but I actually observed that I actually am an introvert but with intuition over sensing.
Get an introvert talking about the big issues or something they're passionate about and they won't shut up. As for small talk, meh. The reason introverts can talk so eloquently is because they have rehearsed what they are going to say in advance. I never make spontaneous phone calls because I know I will sound like an idiot.
I agree with a lot of what you said, but not all of it. I'm an introvert, but I'm fine with praise, and I'm actually really talkative. Being an introvert just means that you gain energy from being alone. Most people would think I'm really self confident and outgoing, because I talk a lot, especially in structured environments, like classes and stuff.
This is like me its funny . I also love that little story about the lady buying the book . We're one of them ? Yes we are the illuminati and our god is cats . I wounder how many of us have cats seeing as we seem to be so much like them
I have found it best for me to just say thank you and give edit to whoever/wherever credit is due if someone helped you along the way. Or just simply, "Thank you, I appreciate it".
At ease soldiers? You don't look like a girl from the military hahaha. I think these introvert, ambivert and extrovert are lifestyles and skills, nothing wrong with each of them. Without introverts, technology wouldn't develop very fast and spirituality wouldn't matter that much; without extroverts there are no parties at clubs, businesses would suffer economically and life would become boring, social skills would be poor; and without ambivert there is no bridge between the communication of the two. If all would become one in particular, life would be boring, opposites attract.
I'm usually pretty stingy with who I subscribe to, but I don't want to see you drop below 700 now that you thanked them for passing that milestone. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and leave.
All redheads (that are as pretty as you) should be models. Unless the word in your channel name is like, "Reed." Lol but I'm sure that is the point. 😱🤡👍🏼👍🏼🎄📖 📕📘📗🎒📚🔖
As an introvert, I would like to let everybody know to simply leave us alone. Do not invite us to a party. Do not try to befriend us. Do not ask our name. Do not be hateful with us. Do not try to get to know us as a boyfriend or girlfriend. Just ignore us. Do not acknowledge us at all. That is when we are most comfortable. We stride for social invisibility. We want no friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, enemies, aquaintences. Treat us like we are invisible.
I love alone time, but don't like feeling alone. doesn't make sense I know.
you may not like feeling lonely -- lonely and alone are two very different terms
Duane Whitham alone and lonely. Two different things and completely makes sense
Try searching the difference between alone and lonely...u will thank me later
We are like cats let us come to you,,
Yeah! Lonely and alone are different things. I didn't realise that before. . .
As a introvert I developed a mute screaming, its like screaming my lungs out but not generating any noise
Anyone else hates phoning people??!?!?!?!?!
Renée Scarcella me xD
me! i prefer text than calls. when my friends unexpectedly calls on messenger i decline because i dont like talking. lol
Me too, i thought i'm the only one, until i read youtube comments.

Meeeee
I'm an introvert, eye contact with new people is difficult
One mouth; two ears; use accordingly!
It took 31 years to realize there's nothing wrong with me bc I'm just an introvert which sucks when everyone else seems extroverted.
I agree with this 100% and add another 10% for the spontaneous events portion. Rachel you are 110% accurate on what an introvert is like. I'm glad to be a part of the ginger army xD keep up the amazing work!

i was looking at those books behind her even though her video was like so relate able
i was too. lol. i saw my favorite series. hahaha
You nailed it. As an introvert myself can relate to all the points. Think Introverts also are bookworms it seems -Myself included.
im an introvert and also am a bookworm. hahaha

I hate books lmao and I’m a introvert
I saw all of my favorite books on your shelf and I immediately subscribed.

I use to get sweaty palms just thinking about going to an event that was 30 days away!
I'm an ambivert much of the time. However, sometimes I will revert to being a situational-vert, where the ambi- gets thrown out the window.
I was feeling very low for few days and your videos just made my day.... Thankyou
Aww thank you! Sending good thoughts your way
Number 1: I think they want us *ALL* to shut up forever...well in my eyes...
About the issue of spontaneity, it really depends for me because I've also had times when my friend asked me out like an hour or two before we meet up on the same day (sometimes, I'm the one doing that but that only happens once in a million years) but I agreed anyway because:
