- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 26 มิ.ย. 2021
- When using this product it is important to know that the Pitch Hopper is ONLY permitted on asphalt shingles and not other surfaces. Not plywood, not felt, not ice and water shield, not metal roofing, etc. ONLY USE WHEN ON TOP OF DRY ASPHALT SHINGLES AND DO NOT USE ON ROOF SLOPES GREATER THAN 12/12. This product is not to be used in place of your safety equipment! It is a safety aid, but it is not a piece of safety equipment! Wear your ropes and harnesses, and always put your toe boards down to ensure your safety. By using the Promo Code " Veteran " at checkout you will save 5% off of your ENTIRE order, regardless if you buy 1 for yourself or 10 for your crew. I personally recommend 2 per roofer as these Pitch Hoppers compliment each other very well. One to stand on, and another to hold your shingles is the perfect scenario for speed and comfort. I demonstrate in this video. Please be sure of exactly how many you really think you need before buying because I can only save you 5% this ONE TIME. If you go back to buy more, even if the promo is still running, you won't get the discount again because this is a one-time-per-customer 5%-Discount-limit. And I am POSITIVE you will want more than one Pitch Hopper. Don't forget to share this video with your fellow roofers, employees and employers! Link below to view products! Personally, I will be getting some of the 32" yellow ones next.
I challenge all you roofers who support the channel to share this video with anybody you know that can benefit from the product and if you have a boss, do your best to convince him to buy a few for everybody! Pitch Hopper coverers shipping when you spend 350$ or more. Make sure you guys use the Promo Code "Veteran" at check out. Caps matter. That's Veteran with a capital V

Pitch hoppers are awesome until the material on the bottom starts to wear.then the hopper gives way when you least expect it. Trust me
Please get a new promo code. Veteran ended.
@Keith Koch yea it ended a while ago. Sorry man
I love the safety demo without the rope and harness on, roof on and stay safe bro
Finally someone that gives an honest review on the product. thanks man!
No problem 👍
I love how you demonstrated on the roof, what not to do. It's like ladder pivots for painters. Same concept. But better designed for you roofers
thank you guys for a great chat room and a great premiere! i'll be checking in on these comments to answer any of your questions throughout the night
FYI IAM no joke myself been doing it my whole life even made front page of the local news paper where I live if u get time hmu
Hey hru I have a roof lined up gonna time myself for that record
Making video this week
Have these even for running siding in double gables! They’re amazing!
They definitely help in more ways than 1!
It’s so cool to see your truck or trucks on the roads of northwest Indiana !! Keep rocking on bro !!!
Haha thanks man
Good job for showing some action with that thing.
Man that makes my stomach turn watching you jump around hahaha. I could never be a roofer but I think I learned enough from your other videos to tackle my 3/12 roof. Thanks dude, hope you have a summer of good weather ahead.
Great guys thank goodness
I will be in the live chat for the duration of this video to answer any question you guys have about the product
Nice accessory for certain situations but i prefer roof brackets with planks. Sometimes when its not broke dont try to fix it. Thx for you service
If I only did more roofs a year(I only do two or three a year) than I would have bought these two years ago when I saw them. Glad you are injoy you new tool(toy)
they will still pay for themselves in comfort bro! even if you just do some repairs or something. be sure to share this video with guys you know will need them!
What’s up buddy? Awesome video man. I have been wondering about pitch hopper so nice to see a honest opinion
Yea feel free to buy one or two on the code
Used these things all the time their great
yes they are! thank you!!
I just ordered 2 yellow pitch hopper. Thanks for the info. I did use your promo code💰
Awesome! Glad I could help you save
Just got my pitch hopper today can't wait to give it a try next week. Those things look awesome
@@ronaldoleksy8264 let me know what you think! And all the ways you find to use them
The thing is, this is only their first generation and with time maybe they’ll fine a solution for it not to move when you’re reaching for something and also maybe even upgrade the grip on it. Definitely getting one of these with your promo code even tho I don’t roof but it’ll come in handy.
well, i'm not sure about that! only because they really are sticky af...and you can lean forward all you want on them, the issue is when your pressure is like 90% off it...like i saw a guy sliding bundles at it. of course it ain't gonna stay like that. but you can set a bundle partially on it with the rest of it at the angle of the roof and it won't go nowhere!
Also a must have product aside from the pitch hopper is a pair of cougar paws. I was a little apprehensive until I put a pair on
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome!
Those tear off bars are THE BEST!!!! I used to have the $80-$100 orange bars and they wear down after 10 houses and they are no good so I went to ABC roofing supply and seen that black bar for $50 gave it a try and ever since i used it i fell in love and it like brand new after 3 months except for scratches and paint loss other than that the teeth r fine
they're great
What’s the bar called? About to tear off a roof and need the best haha
Those ropes look pretty clean.
This a game changer!
Hell yeah, your said the coil dispenser!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Great video bro.
thanks man! a coil holder would be sick! lmao
Where were the pitch hoppers back in 96 man those are life savers. I did a little roofing for a company after highschool and most of our jobs were old victorians in Westchester NY so you can imagine what type of pitches we had to deal with God i used to pray for torched downs job's and soffit and fascia repairs just to get outta being up on a 3 story roof lmao.
I bought 2 of them they’re awesome best product to come out for roofing in a long rime
Hell yea bud thanks for letting us know!
@@NWIVeteranConstruction it’s Dustin btw my TH-cam name is different hope u been doin good and stayin busy
@@buckethead1928 of right on! Yea same to you
Wow , I'm loving the pitch hopper . An amazing innovation . If only for the fact that there's no smear at the L.Z. at the ladder position . They should make some pitch hopper slip-on soles for our boots !!! That would be great too .
its the kind of invention you see and put your palm to your face, why didn't i think of it? lol all the hours spent struggling!
@@NWIVeteranConstruction . But we did think of it !! How many old sofa cushions have we destroyed over the years , lollllllllll . What I wanna see are slip on Pitch Hoppers . Like those slip on rubbers for dress shoes .
Cougar Paws roofing shoes!
Great product,I've always wanted to invent something like this but my guys just use old foam like couch cushions and harness obv.
You should show a comparison on how much harder it is to move around on regular cushions on steep pitches vs the pitch hopper.
Haha I just planned that video out yesterday after a few comments
I use these all the time they work really well just the bottom wears out too quick
As of 10/10/21, the discount code no longer works (made sure that I used a capital 'V'). I bought 2 of these based on your recommendation, and they have been immensely helpful. Thanks! They've slipped when I've accidently reached too far (as you've demonstrated) and when there's too much loose debris. Don't trust them completely on just plywood, but they have a strong grip on synthetic underlayment and shingles.
Thanks for making the time too shoot this
Not a problem. Tool is awesome
Definitely going to get a few. Looks like an advanced couch cushion or sponge.. excited to see how long they last or if the pad is replaceable?
they each should last around a year with average use. just don't be throwing them off the roof and stuff. and use the promo code to save that $$
Just started my own roofing company this year and am always looking for new gear. Have to check these out for sure
i recommend 2 of them at 32 inch. each of your guys will thank you.
I will order em for sure. I didn't even know about your channel till one of my guys showed me. He was like man you and he are almost identical in how you work. I told him that it was because there is a right way to do things. Good work man. Beautiful roofs all around.
@@greggiroux9432 very true bro! There's a lot of ways. But only a handful of em work exceptionally well!
Great product! Wow. I have solar that works best clean, so I’m on the roof several times a year. A couple of these will cut down on wear and tear on the shingles (which I’ve heard walking on them isn’t the best practice)
What air compressor do you favor?
Thanks for your videos! Love them
I want one now fs.
My friend had a few but we used them up but I'm just so used to couch cushions lol
you'll love it! buy 2. link in description
I was introduced to this product last year by a LADDERs NOW guy…… ordered it as so as I got in the car
This is all the commercial they need.
thank you!
Nice
Esto es muy bueno ayuda mucho gracias amigo bueno invented
link in description. use "Veteran" at check out
Best review ever
i sure tried it out didn't I lmao
@@NWIVeteranConstruction yeah you did. Very impressive demonstrations. Also great roofing expertise
Props, thats damn hard work, I just finished shingling my 10x10 shed and that was enough to tell me my 55 year old body ain’t 30, I will be hiring it out next time when the house needs to be done.
I think I may buy one of those pitch hoppers, not for roofing but to put under my knees when I’m lying down on my back to help relieve my sciatic nerve pain from that damn shed.
Just finished our 19sq roof at 59 1/2..:). But had my young 45 year old buddy to help and it was only 4 in 12.. That was the last roof I'm ever doing though..
Zack is probably laughing his head off at the thought of all these geriatrics doing roofing...:)
Try it in area where you have to use shingle cement, I’ve got to put a layer of tar on the bottom side of every shingle I lay. If not they’ll be blown off the roof. Makes the process a lot longer and more tedious.
You can also mess up shingles with too much slipping. Especially the ones that have that little worm from a factory offcut
Funny thing was when I watched the last video the other day. I wanted to leave a comment for you to buy some pitch hoppers.
haha well here you go!
They need to pay you just for the real world safety disclaimer clip you did in the beginning go to reach for a coil and uhhh ohhh that was great lol good job brotha
Haha it was a bit exaggerated but yea I really wanted to drive the point home that if you're not fully standing on these things you're not safe. The downward pressure is required
@@NWIVeteranConstruction it was great lol they deff owe you money for that one 🤣🤣
@Veteran Construction have you heard of cougar paws
We want to see the full vidéo of you on the 12/12 with the pitch hopper
I'm gonna sit down today and figure out what's next. That will likely be the one
Hey Veteran. Question - Why do you guys use toe boards (2x4’s) instead of brackets and planks? In my experience it’s much more comfortable to walk on and keep materials on the roof. I’m a roofer here in Massachusetts. Pitch hopper looks like a nice bit of kit to add to the arsenal. Cheers!
During tear off it's easier. We do the hooks when we shingle
Even the doctor in a helicopter lol
When I went to give an estimate on a 16/12 I used the cougar paws and the pitch hopper let me tell you I did not go anywhere lmao people were looking at me as if I was walking on water 😂
ahahahah
i get a lot of people stopping to watch me on the pitch hopper and others actually ask me questions
I wish we 'd of had something like that 20 30 years ago
yea sorry man
They do them in yellow (what we have) so you won’t forget them on the roof when you’re getting out of there when already dark 😂😂😂
Yo, first time u’re on a complicated roof ! Respect ! Usually ure on some walkable gable …
How is that roof complicated?
@@tylerlacasse5756 Very ☝🏻
@@Birch_Smiley you must not roof much huh?
that ain't no cookie cutter bro. i know us roofers got a lot of pride n shit but damn he just said it like it is. its bit complicated, walls, multiple valleys on each side. TWO witches hats. all 8/12 and 12/12. true 2 story. not a single one of us wanted to be on that job lol
Should stack the bundles on the peak it’s can make the shingles wavy and it can cause fish mouths when it settles. Just a tip better off stair case
Shouldn’t
Stair casing is more stable and they would be all curved when ur nailing them
I wonder if i could use it as a ladder leveler on the fly. I might get one.
i cannot confirm nor deny. but i have definitely found a lot of uses for them where i wouldn't have thought to look originally
I have done this. It does work.
How will these work on a hot summer day when it’s up to 105 outside?
I want a dispenser on these so bad!!! I wonder if you can modify it a little 😏
Probably could
i would also like to state there meant to stand on any pushing will cause it to give out
Exactly. I demonstrated that in the first 5 minutes
Where can I get it ordered I live in California
I’m a framer and I do not like shingling roof now with the hopper I’m might reconsider that option good work buddy
This homeowner is building a dam Castle amongst peasants in his neighborhood LOL

You forgot to tear the old roof off…
The next model you will be able to lean out and it won't move thanks to you great review.
it doesn't move honestly. i had no pressure on that thing
Next iteration of this could have a coil holder and removable backing attached like the cougar paws. Can be adhered with Velcro and when they wear out you can buy them for half the price or something. Idk if that would change the way it sticks but it’s an idea and save money for company’s that buy tons of these.
Could be. I just want a hover jet pack already
@@NWIVeteranConstruction gotta nail extra good or all your shingles blow away. Couldn’t you just have a crane and a bungee cord like they use in the movies and just hop and float around the roof 🤨
HERE!
knew you would be brotha! have you got any yet?
Lmk when you got some videos 6 stories high👌
i will never let you know then lol i ain't touchin that
Have you seen the RoofSmart pads
just looked them up, pretty interesting.
Lmao this is a super subtle response to mr perfects video
Have you ever tried to put a board across 2 of em?
No lol but I done other helpful things with them that I can't say coz I don't want ppl getting doing sketchy shit with them lmao
I do my hips pretty much the same
its defintely a good way
How come you don't use cougar paws? We use cougar paws and pitch hoppers then your running around like Spiderman! Its a game changer, so much more productive!
Yeah as soon as you take some weight off, or unevenly distribute it, you're gonna slip... And it's a fast, unsuspecting slip... We've had then on my crew for a few months ago... They were 60 bucks a piece
That's not entirely true. I'm going to demonstrate this better in my next video. That thing stays really good unless you're on it completely wrong. If you're standing up straight or leaving forward a little it will not go anywhere. Most times I had even a little slip it was because my house got under on my feet but it caught its grip back before anything happened
@@NWIVeteranConstruction .. Yeah it could just be from ours being so worn out.. We use the hell outta them, and I know that there's already chunks of the cushion part already missing.. We're due to get a couple new ones
First off you are a very skilled fast roofer would like to get in contact with u I IAM a double amputee that roofs and would love to race are meet up
How long do the pads last you think?
they list 4-6 months but i know guys that beat them things up on the daily for a year no problem
Do you just hammer those boards right into the brand new shingles ?
No!
Can you say roughly how long it will last before needing replaced?
Likely 6-12 true months of use if you don't beat em up on purpose.
@@NWIVeteranConstruction thanks for the reply boss dawg
Is the bottom foam replaceable?
nope. but they should last about a year..and that's if its getting beat up everyday
What about metal roofs. Are these of any use on metal or is it too slippery??
Cannot be used on metal roofs
@@NWIVeteranConstruction what can you use on metal roofing?
Where do they sell them at ?

4:33 in the video is a demonstration
Why would you need toe boards if you have on a harness ? I see a ton of damage and leaks from toe boards .
Easier, safer. And we didn't have enough help to have a tosser
@@NWIVeteranConstruction why do I see toe board nail holes in shingles from time to time? Are they doing it wrong ? Seems like toe board should never be nailed into shingles
The least I can do is through a like on it ! You know you gotta have 2 comments under the video so it gets the best promotion. So I gotta right one more
Thanks
How do I get it
Check the description for a link
How do we get these?????
Check the description for link
What was wrong with that roof that it had to come off just curious? The one with the hat
it was old, and leaking, and hail damaged. insurance approved
@@NWIVeteranConstruction niceee sometimes it's hard to tell on video
How long does the back last
Much longer when you're standing up right on this things....oh, you mean the pads... lol you'll get a few yrs out of them with light use. They recommend around a yr or so is you're using everyday. Mine are older than this video, used them plenty of times and just used them again after a while if not using them. No issues
Also, I'm not stretching the truth even a little when I say that you can use these things once and it'll make your money back. A lot of times I would need to set up toe boards or find a place to stack bundles or material or go up and down the ladder for tools coz I got nowhere put them... all right there on my pitch hoppers. Must have on 7/12 and up
Me and the coworkers be using them on plywood and felt etc pretty safe but i still use harnest my coworkers dont
Yea I would still harness! Especially on felt and plywood.
Mans says don’t trust it with your life yet jumps onto it w/o hesitation on a 20/12 pitch 2-3 story’s up 💀💀💀
Lol I was in a safe spot. And if I wasn't... I'd have on a harness! These things are awesome and will help everybody be better and more comfortable but safety is first!
Problem with it any vibration will cause it to slide and price is way too high a couch cosion is better grip and free lol
Man, I was so confused watching that first video using the chicken ladders. I've always called ladders with chicken hooks chicken ladders, so I was sittin there waiting like wtf where are the chicken ladders. Anyway, I got 6 pitch hoppers and they kick ass. Huge time saver.
awesome bro! they're so helpful
will this work on metal??
no
Yea metals a different monster thanks for the reply though👌 keep your boys safe up there 👍
Thought you preferred chicken ladders?
i did! i kicked ass with them! but i don't wanna touch another after using these. game changing
What is your name and where can I order my friend?

yea but we can't ask for too much lol
If you don’t ask you don’t receive 😊 squeaky wheel gets the grease
algorithm gang
my man thank you
I'd rather spend 250 on these than 250 on cougar paws.
absolutely! and 2 of them at 32 inch will still run you less than that
Right, plus cougar paws will wear out lot sooner, only you can wear the shoes when with the pitch hoppers multiple people can use them at a time, well not exactly but you get what i mean
I've been using old couch sponges for free the truth is that who ever made that product just copied roofers use sponges the sponges don't slip like that thing and of course the sponges are free and way lighter and flexible don't waste your money on that just get some sponges
@@gonzaloquinones5388 nah bro. You're looking at it wrong. They saw an issue with the stinky couch cushions and realized that it doesn't do anything for your foot comfort. So they built a light weight platform and figured out how to adhere a think cushion to it. It's actually genius. And far easier/ safer to use than a cusion
@@NWIVeteranConstruction could be, i was just shown to work the old way and I'm used to not use harness as well move faster more comfortably and might sound weird i feel safer with out it too the only time I've been close to falling of a roof was because of a harness rope and been roofing 5 years and counting with out one.
honestly bro I won't use that after u demonstrated that thing slipping from under you. especially not on a 12 nd 12 f that
that would happen with a regular cushion or anything else you actually don't fully stand on. i wasn't on it when it slid. i was sliding against it. like pretend you slid a bundle at it. thats basically what it takes to make it slide. and i tried to make it slide
oh for sure man. ur a beast roofer man I work the same way u do no bags lol
actually looks pretty good, I'll still be a little bitch with my jacks and planks.
8 12....yeah fuck that...that's why I dont roof for a living....lol
..
haha the 12/12 is what sucked, but these pitch hoppers made it easier
God damn infomercial
