I don't think you quite understand just how much of an inspiration you are... I played piano (pretty much forced by parents) for about 7 or 8 years and I grew to hate it. I had essentially quit playing and had not touched a piano for around 3 or 4 years until I was introduced to anime by a friend. My first anime was Shigatsu wa kimi no uso (which I was able to relate to on some level), which I watched in February 2018. After hearing the amazing soundtrack, I took to TH-cam to listen to it once again and stumbled upon your beautiful Hikaru Nara cover. Since then I have found a new reason to play piano and have grown to love it. I have also seen countless anime since that fateful day. Thanks for letting me love my piano.

This cover sounds really optimistic. Like how the original, and like Hinata's speech toward Yui. Look, we may not know each other in real life and so do most of other people here. But for many people, you and your cover are their most precious treasure so keep on playing just the way you are.
while a scripted approach (sheets completely written beforehand) can lend itself to a more polished arrangement, an improvised arrangement has a natural flow and feeling that is equally beautiful in its own right. it's like a chef that cooks according to a recipe vs one that crafts based on feel and past experiences. All the lingering muscle memory from past arrangements will mold the chords and patterns as you improvise your arrangement. and being able to improvise a piece like this that sounds just as beautiful as a scripted one is the ultimate achievement. I look forward to all the arrangements you will create in the future!
The fact that something like this can be improvised is a masterpiece in itself. Playing a music from a sheet is a legit task in itself, and creating one from thin air is even more astounding !

Sometimes anime’s like Clannad, Angel Beats, Anohana, Plastic memories and many more were to really happen to an individual. How would he be able to handle it? How would I handle it? And then the onions hit.
Still not have enough courage to watch Angel Beats...out of them all, i sometimes return and going through every series that i once love (since nowadays not much anime did catch my eyes - being bored to death with similar setting isekai + harem). But no matter how many years did past, i still couldn’t forget the feeling years ago...like i just watch it right yesterday. that is how sad the impact this series is, it caused me trauma. Anohana vs shigatsuwa i watched once a year, plastic memories vs clannad once every 5-6 months. Just ...this one, the only thing that i can’t forget...everytime i see anything relate to AB, my heart rate jumping rapidly.
In all honesty, I haven't finished listening to this after writing. But just a few minutes in and already I'm blown away by gorgeous tones that emanate from your piano...thanks Animenz for another wonderful performance

More nostalgic covers plzzzzz ALSO, although it might not happen soon, I DO wish to see a comeback with your sheet first before playing. I think that you can still surpass your top and achieve a higher level of advanced sheet, which is the reason I first came to this channel and one of the reasons I’m staying
Yeh Kun I think the same. His improv style is mind-blowing, lyrical as you said, and if he's happy doing improv only it's all good for me; Nevertheless, I really hope he'll overcome the current difficulties and start making sheets again, because my favorite works of him are his most complex arrangements, like Sayonara Memories, Snow Halation or Owari no Sekai Kara. I don't know why but that's what I prefer about his style, this very sophisticated and classical arranging.

Dear youtubers, please upvote this so Animenz might see it Dear animenz, I'm a huge fan of yours and also a pianist, though I'm years from reaching you. Even still, I've tried to read your sheets and simply love your arrangements, they bring that sparkle to the original song. I know how much of a pain it is to write sheets and to pass what's on your mind (sometimes even something that seems so simple when improvising) onto paper. I respect your decision and I support you fully. But, let me just give you a small alternative to think about. What if you play the song in a digital piano or something of the sort and through a midi cable instantly convert it into .midi file? That way, you'd have a lot less work and even without sheets, we'd have a way of reproducing the arrangements we so love through the .midi. I watched this series with my girlfriend. When Yui’s time finally came and Hinata stepped in we both cried. Every time I hear this song I remember that scene and I feel the tears start behind my eyes. This is beautiful, thank you for doing this. I know I’m 2 years late but god damn am I glad I found this.

Jamie Lee Er is auch meine Inspiration... es war einfach richtig, ihn auf TH-cam zu finden und seine Stücke zu spielen, vorallem für mich als einen Pianisten. Er hat definitiv mehr Abonnenten, Zuschauer, Fans, ect. verdient.
Das gleiche gilt auch für mich. Seit ich seine Arrangements spiele, bin ich immer besser und besser geworden. Jetzt spiele ich seine Stücke schon seit über einem Jahr und werde sogar eins seiner Stücke zu meiner Goldabschlussprüfung spielen xD

I remember watching the anime back in 2012 but I forgot it because my memory isn’t the greatest. I closed my eyes and listened and it brought me to literal tears because I remember how I felt when I did see it, and now I recall bits and pieces that made this one of my favorite animes. You have AMAZING talent and you have never disappointed me. I have been listening to Animenz for quite some time now. Recently, my family and I have been in a move. One hell of a move, that is. We had plans and had worked everything out but it didn't go the way we planned. The move was only supposed to take three months. It has been six. And throughout this move, we have lost more and more of everything and of our selves. It's like every day we get something new that's bad. I had forgotten about this music, and Animez again. I found no reason to find joy in anything since I had nothing. To the point, I don't feel close to my piano, which I have been playing for nine years. I found no inspiration, nothing to play. But, Animenz came back up onto my feed today, and I decided to listen to three of his pieces. Unravel, Studio Ghibli Melody, and this. And this is.. I didn't know I needed to cry. I didn't know music can punch me in the gut. Get my head back onto my neck. I've realized so much, and I have felt so much... So, thank you, Animenz... I don't know what I would do without your talented gift. Keep playing, and keep inspiring lost souls like me.
hey animenz, your music actually sounds so much more heartfelt now. maybe its the fact that you're improvising on the spot, or you've been through some hard times, but i think that your music has touched the hearts of more people now. i think as musicians allowing the audience to feel our music is whats most important and i think you've achieved that. you shouldn't doubt yourself anymore. you've always had a brilliant technique, but now the emotions really are shining through. good job and we will always support you :)
This video and arrangement brought so much back to me.. due to time constraints with school, I can’t watch as much anime anymore, or listen to as much music, can’t play as much piano.. and hearing this Angel Beats OST just made me cry. The emotion shining through the music and the description, had me think about how much you’ve been an inspiration to me, especially with continuing to play the piano. Animenz, you're one of the primary reasons I decided to pick up piano again after a 2-year break. The way you play is incredibly magical, and my anticipation for your videos and sheet musics are what makes it seem like hours and hours of piano practicing seem to go by in an instant. You're a huge piano role model for me; I will always support you!
I see a lot of people who grew to love the piano again after hating it for so long when they got introduced to you, but my story is pretty average. I'm in a family full of musicians, I always loved music, and the instruments used to play said music, my parents hated piano, and thought strange that I wanted to play the piano, but still bought me a piano. I never had a talent, not perfect pitch, not some amazing sight reading capacity, just my passion, and after almost giving up because I didn't see progress, I stumbled upon you and theishter, who gave a burning passion to evolve and practice the piano again. Tho I still can't play your songs (they're way too hard lol) I am finally able to play Re:Zero's Elegy for Rem by theishter after 6 months of intense practice. Thank you so much for being an inspiration to me and keep on playing and inspiring us all :3

These nostalgic feelings when the series end with all the "Not-Dead-Yet-Battlefront" anime characters start disappearing, in addition to this music, and I start saying, "NO! don't leave, please." Then, I start bawling to the end of the series. farewell
Angel beats was one of those animes that you can rewatch a decade later and still cry at the ending, sure it's only 13 episodes short but it was well worth the watch.
This is a big inspiration considering I lived my life hating piano but I was the one that asked my parents to play piano....... And for 5 years i didnt really like it for some reason but after seeing you playing, my love for anime and their music, and also seeing my friend very good at playing piano (shes and otaku too) I thought I didnt wanna lose..... +Animenz Piano Sheets I have an older brother who played piano at competitions, with not much inspiration(Sometimes he bore a close resemblance to Kousei in Your Lie In April). He stopped for about 2-3 years in highschool, but when he began to watch you again, he dove back into piano. My older brother was an avid watcher of you, and you inspired him to play harder than ever before. When you noticed his blog on wordpress, he was overcome with joy. He then practiced your arrangement of Attack On Titan as hard as he could to do as a solo at his concert. I'd never seen him more inspired and determined than back then. YOU were the light at the end of his tunnel, and I must truly thank you for that.
Love your covers, so expressive, talented and yet so human. You're not only transcribing musics, it's way more than that, you transcribe stories, feelings, emotions, you touch every heart with these pieces. You also touch everyone in this community with your video descriptions, your personal struggle. I wish you the best of the best, every piece you provided is unique and so are the feelings behind them... and as someone who's been following your work since the Brave Song upload, the incredible amount of time, effort and investiment you've made is something to be proud! Ichiban no takaramono was the first japanese song I've ever listened to and it is still my favourite and I was silently waiting for you to play it ever since I discovered your channel. This is so much more beautiful than the arrangement I have for flute and piano, oh my god. I am still crying. You are such a talented musician, I absolutely love your videos. while a scripted approach (sheets completely written beforehand) can lend itself to a more polished arrangement, an improvised arrangement has a natural flow and feeling that is equally beautiful in its own right. it's like a chef that cooks according to a recipe vs one that crafts based on feel and past experiences. All the lingering muscle memory from past arrangements will mold the chords and patterns as you improvise your arrangement. and being able to improvise a piece like this that sounds just as beautiful as a scripted one is the ultimate achievement. I look forward to all the arrangements you will create in the future!

Still not have enough courage to watch Angel Beats...out of them all, i sometimes return and going through every series that i once love (since nowadays not much anime did catch my eyes - being bored to death with similar setting isekai + harem). But no matter how many years did past, i still couldn’t forget the feeling years ago...like i just watch it right yesterday. that is how sad the impact this series is, it caused me trauma. Anohana vs shigatsuwa i watched once a year, plastic memories vs clannad once every 5-6 months. Just ...this one, the only thing that i can’t forget...everytime i see anything relate to AB, my heart rate jumping rapidly.

His improv style is mind-blowing, lyrical as you said, and if he's happy doing improv only it's all good for me;
Nevertheless, I really hope he'll overcome the current difficulties and start making sheets again, because my favorite works of him are his most complex arrangements, like Sayonara Memories, Snow Halation or Owari no Sekai Kara. I don't know why but that's what I prefer about his style, this very sophisticated and classical arranging.

Dear animenz, I'm a huge fan of yours and also a pianist, though I'm years from reaching you. Even still, I've tried to read your sheets and simply love your arrangements, they bring that sparkle to the original song. I know how much of a pain it is to write sheets and to pass what's on your mind (sometimes even something that seems so simple when improvising) onto paper. I respect your decision and I support you fully. But, let me just give you a small alternative to think about. What if you play the song in a digital piano or something of the sort and through a midi cable instantly convert it into .midi file? That way, you'd have a lot less work and even without sheets, we'd have a way of reproducing the arrangements we so love through the .midi.

I have been listening to Animenz for quite some time now. Recently, my family and I have been in a move. One hell of a move, that is. We had plans and had worked everything out but it didn't go the way we planned. The move was only supposed to take three months. It has been six. And throughout this move, we have lost more and more of everything and of our selves. It's like every day we get something new that's bad. I had forgotten about this music, and Animez again. I found no reason to find joy in anything since I had nothing. To the point, I don't feel close to my piano, which I have been playing for nine years. I found no inspiration, nothing to play. But, Animenz came back up onto my feed today, and I decided to listen to three of his pieces. Unravel, Studio Ghibli Melody, and this. And this is.. I didn't know I needed to cry. I didn't know music can punch me in the gut. Get my head back onto my neck. I've realized so much, and I have felt so much... So, thank you, Animenz... I don't know what I would do without your talented gift. Keep playing, and keep inspiring lost souls like me.

I see a lot of people who grew to love the piano again after hating it for so long when they got introduced to you, but my story is pretty average.
I'm in a family full of musicians, I always loved music, and the instruments used to play said music, my parents hated piano, and thought strange that I wanted to play the piano, but still bought me a piano.
I never had a talent, not perfect pitch, not some amazing sight reading capacity, just my passion, and after almost giving up because I didn't see progress, I stumbled upon you and theishter, who gave a burning passion to evolve and practice the piano again.
Tho I still can't play your songs (they're way too hard lol) I am finally able to play Re:Zero's Elegy for Rem by theishter after 6 months of intense practice.

Angel beats was one of those animes that you can rewatch a decade later and still cry at the ending, sure it's only 13 episodes short but it was well worth the watch.
This is a big inspiration considering I lived my life hating piano but I was the one that asked my parents to play piano....... And for 5 years i didnt really like it for some reason but after seeing you playing, my love for anime and their music, and also seeing my friend very good at playing piano (shes and otaku too) I thought I didnt wanna lose..... This is so incredibly beautiful, I cried while singing along. Ichiban no takaramono was the first japanese song I've ever listened to and it is still my favourite and I was silently waiting for you to play it ever since I discovered your channel. This is so much more beautiful than the arrangement I have for flute and piano, oh my god. I am still crying. You are such a talented musician, I absolutely love your videos. And it makes me wish I learned the piano instead of the flute ten years ago, sigh.
