I'd have to disagree there, TPC was definitely a mistake, and is still ruining the quality of the Pokémon games with every subsequent, undercooked release that really could have used another 1-2 years in the oven.

The Minecraft server that I run at my house runs better than Mario Maker 2 online, and I run my Minecraft server off of a Walmart laptop.

@@sameman6884 I still believe there are other reasons. For something like taking down TH-cam videos or defending stick drift (which even Microsoft is doing), do you think that's because of money? I personally feel like they just want to fail as a company, as with Sony and Microsoft. They can easily stop doing those two things to avoid getting anger from their fanbase, and they would *STILL* earn as much money as they already do now.
Also, try talking about how lazy All-Stars is to anyone that prefers the collection. Believe it or not, there are people, such as Johnny from SomeCallMeJohnny, that actually prefer playing Sunshine and Galaxy in the collection to playing on the original hardware.

If they would just officially release their iconic soundtracks on Spotify or something (as opposed to making me unlock it in Smash Ultimate or putting it in a barebones Mario collection that will no longer be available later next year for no reason), this wouldn’t be half as aggravating a situation.

When my sister asked me, why I'd hate Pokemon Sword and Shield I said:
"The game is fun, but it is like you promise somebody to make a nice and delicious bowl of spaghetti bolognese and then you just give this person a bowl of pasta with kechup over it."
I mean sure, I'm sure if you squint really hard, you can look at it like it's a good bowl of pasta... But it doesn't mean it's going to taste good.
That's pretty much how I felt about pokémon sword and shield. I knew I was going to fucking hate it. I knew the limited Pokemon was going to make it not worth my time ever again, I knew that nothing but raid battles are going to get boring. I tried so fucking hard to like it, I nearly broke my damn teeth trying to smile.
But this is like trying to play off last month's spaghetti dinner, all rotten with mold, and trying to pose it off as today's dinner. It's so rough it I would never want to subject a human being to it.
This description is the best way to describe it. The only really good about the game for me is the Pokemon camp mechanic and that it helped me discover I like double battles which me makes me upset that they don't use it much.
Also it feels it wants say something deep like about sports or fan culture kinda like how BW had it's story based around the ethics of Pokemon battles but it never seems to commit to it and don't started on the final gym.

The thing is, Nintendo is normally NOT terrible at all. They don't always make the right choices but they've had a pretty consistent record of doing the right thing and being pretty consumer-friendly until recently. That just makes these fuckups so much more difficult to accept.

I think it’s time that we stop assuming that mega-corporations think of their customers in the same way that your local stores do. At the level of corporations like Nintendo, Sony, or others like Microsoft, Facebook, etc, individual customers are probably about as easy to analyze as a single rain drop for a weather man. As for Pokémon, GameFreak have always been incompetent.
Back in the day, they had trouble fitting all of Johto on the Gold/Silver cartridge, so they went to Iwata for help.
fast forward and he gets back to them, not only fixing their issues, but fitting the entire Kanto region on the cartridge on top of the game that was already there.
It's time to drop GameFreak and just move Pokémon to an in-house development team managed by Nintendo themselves, but GameFreak owns a third of Pokémon itself, like the Pokémon Company and Nintendo, so they're holding onto their cash cow, and choking the life out of it in the process.

the online was only a little more excusable back then because you never had to pay for it
