I paid £850 for my Btwin Mach 720 CF in 2014. It was £999 rrp for a full carbon frame with 105. I’ve upgraded the wheels & other touchpoints so the bike is close to 7kg. Fantastic bike. Don’t know why bikes are so expensive.

So many people try to "buy performance" when the reality is that their fitness level is not such that the bike is pushed hard enough to be in the envelope where the performance differences really make a difference. A simple example is frame rigidity, a way cheaper bike that does not offer the same level of rigidity would not incur an efficiency penalty if the rider was not putting in the power to cause an issue, in fact the bike with less rigidity may even be more comfortable for them to ride. If people were honest with themselves and purchased a bike that was adequate for their level of riding many of them would save a considerable amount of money without compromising their performance to any degree. !!!
People concerned primarily about going fast make up a small portion of the market for bicycles. Saying this bike is going to change cycling forever is pure hype.

Van Rysel doesn't mean from Flanders it means from Lille, that used to be called Rijsel when it was in French Flanders, do your research it's a 1min google check!
I do not understand the false marketing surrounding the Van Rysel brand which consistently states they're more affordable than other top end bikes. Well, you could save yourself a grand and ride away on a Canyon Ultimate/Endurace/Aeroad CFR for around 8k. In fact, quite recently Canyon were offloading some CFR bikes from previous years for £6500. Also, according to google, a Colnago C68 with Dura Ace DI2 is £9500 (£6500 for Ultegra DI2)....which is 500 more than I paid for my brand new Ducati Monster 821 a few years ago. £9000 for what is no better than an Ali Express build is not good value.
Truth. A bike can only be as cheap as it's parts and sure they have control over the frame price, but the rest is the same as everybody else. And if you pay more for a frame because you want a particular brand like Pinarello, that's your own wasted money decision. People that know facts know that frames can only be so good and beyond that it's just fashion.
That’s not only Van Rysel it’s a ton of brands out here doing the exact same. Brands are hoping you’ll pay full price on bikes and group sets when in return groups are cheap right now..
With this year's industry decline Decathlon capturing the Medium upper and Upper market through the Van Rysel brand and sponsoring a World Tour Team has been a genius move. No one would've bought or ridden a well built Triban 😂😂😂
It is funny how many people complain about a company pretending or proposing "cheaper" world tour bikes!! Looks like we all want to pay £15000 for a bike....😂

Their move into top tier cycling really put decathlon on the map for me. I never even considered entering one of their stores before but now I own a few decathlon products.

Come on, mate, the Triban 500 is a fraction of that price, and will last far longer. So many Lies are told by the publicity support systems of the bike industry. 9k is not cheap and hardly value for money.
"only" 9 grand? Ridiculous. Nothing in a bicycle is ever worth that much. From a bike mechanic and an engineer. I've built pinarellos, S-Works, ect. I've seen not a single part of them justify even half their price tag. Wake up and keep your wallet heavy. Your bike will still be light enough.
I’m afraid they would raise the price once the demand goes up. Don’t expect bing brand lower their prices from where they are now to compete with Van Rysel. It would be the other way around.
I go for a 1200€ bike at ROSE Bikes and will put some 1000€ wheels on it. ROSE wheels then sell as new at Ebay for 500€. Fast as hell and light too. What should go wrong with it?
