Education is a business in India. Private schools, tuitions, coaching etc etc.. cost of these services is also a factor why many children from poor families are deprived of basic education.
Recently WhiteHatJr an Indian EdTech company was exposed. They push their products to parents and kids by cold calling and misleading ads with fake information. They claimed one of their students joined google for a salary of 150cr rupees at 13 years of age. They also advertised another kid joining Facebook for similar salary. I feel sorry for the parents who purchased these courses. Also these courses have an absurd price tag.
Very interesting. Today, I learned that there are places in the world where the education is free. Many years ago, I met students from Finland, some probably were on a school break visiting Canada. They are very fortunate to have free schooling and so much help. I didn't realize the stress placed on students from India to achieve. That must very difficult on a child to have to deal with getting higher grades to be valued. Where I live in Canada school is free till the end of high school. Over thirty years ago, all our education was free, and as a student at that time, I met many students who studied as a living. The government was paying for everything so they just kept going to school. One such student had been in college for nine years with no plans of quitting. I guess with time our government noticed this and had to change things. Today, to go to college or university costs very little and the government helps students with the different costs attached to their studies. At the end of their education, they are left with a small student loan to pay off over many years at a low interest rate. I find myself fortunate to live in Canada because there are other countries where it costs so much to go to school. Thank you for another informative video. See you next time.
Thank you for your comments, Lori! There seem to be many similarities between the Canadian and Finnish system. Canada is also high up on that particular study we mention at the start of the video. We used to have the same problem in Finland, people keeping studying and also the remedy was the same: cutting down how many years you can study! There would have been so much more to say about education but we can at a later date take details of the education systems! Have a good day! -TK

@@loriscrochetcreations8566hi, how are you? I think i once listened to the educational system in Canada, it was very good. May i know how it's like today?
@roij_eindhoven Hello, our education system is very low in cost, and the government still helps students financially. All in all, not much has changed in our education system. A student can get a great education at a very low cost.
What a great video! May I add, what a stark contrast there is between India and Finland. I'm very fortunate to live in a country where our entire education system is more like Finland's than Indias.....although, geographically, we are much closer to India. I have found that we get a lot of University students from India. Mostly they study Medicine and Commerce. I believe that education starts in a child's home, well before the child is old enough for school. However, I can't imagine sending a baby to school! A child needs its parents (mentally, physically and emotionally) up until the age of 6. Finland seems to have embraced this very important stage by waiting to send the children to school at 7! Thanks so much for another very interesting look into these two, very different, countries. Can't wait for the next video....hugs from Australia 🇦🇺🐨💖
Really appreciate this move, it's a great way to know about other's culture.. And Finland education system is way much better and flexible for students rather than India.

Thank you Tuula and supriyo .. Yes supriyo you are right ..Education is not only books there is a life beyond education to mould ourselves .. Have realized earlier .. Thanks for the video ❤️
I totally agree with what Supriyo said in his closing statement. Yes, education is important but equally so is what you do with what you have. Not everyone in life is brilliant. I, myself am a very ordinary person. I was educated to year 10, back in 1966. I left school, worked until I got married. Then after a ten year break I went back to work in a new area of work. I consider myself successful in life. I am a good citizen, paid my taxes all my working life until I retired. I did my best to be a good mother and wife. We own our own home. It's old but mine. I have an old car. I don't have a ritzy, fancy type of life style and yet I am happy, content and in my opinion successful.
Once again, a very interesting subject! I think many people from Finland are so used to having a free education system that many don’t even value it so much. I think it’s great we have this opportunity to educate ourselves through life and for free or with very cheap addmissions. It definitely must be hard in India competing with so many people! I’m not sure if we could cope with that kind of pressure here in Finland 🤔😅
The reason I liked Finland was due to two persons. 1.Kimmi raikn 2.Valteri Bottas The versatile F1 drivers And the memes about people going to dive in frozen lake. 🇮🇳
Oh yes, the two drivers! There are jokes about both, how slowly they speak😄 I love watching F1! Diving in frozen lakes happens all the time but I haven't done it! -TK

I like the education system in Finland. I was really surprised to know that education is free of cost in your country, Tuula Mam:) I totally agree with you Supriyo Sir. In my opinion, marks are just numbers and definitely they are not going to decide our future. This is something that every student should keep in their mind. Learning and understanding the concepts should be given more importance rather than on the results. Parents should encourage their children to approach exams in this positive way.
