    A lot of shorter guys have a big phobia about gaining mass in their lower bodies to squat and deadlift BIG poundages. They are terrified it'll make them look like a stumpy fire hydrant like me and not be attractive to women.
    Which is a massive concern to
    younger image conscious men
    AlphaDestiny is an example of this mindset.

    • @Ryan_DeWitt
      @Ryan_DeWitt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Never understood this. So skinny legs look better on a shorter guy? I don't think so personally. If you're short, you probably should try to max out as much muscle as possible all over your body. Plus very few guys are going to ever get too big.

    • @FallinMew
      @FallinMew 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      My quads look nasty as a novice compared to the rest of my body due to my height but I don't really care. Still squatting twice a week at minimum.

    • @ThePitPony
      @ThePitPony 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Ryan_DeWitt I agree, it's faulty logic but I can respect someone's opinion being different to mine, however it's not until we get older, say over 40, that it'll become apparent how short sighted it is as the legs are probably the first muscles to shrink due to age related sarcopenia.
      I only today watched a video by Big J's extreme fitness where he laments the fact his legs get skinnier each yer despite training them hard and heavy and I agree with him, it's the same case with me too.
      Also leg and back training is what gives us the real benefits of barbell training via bone density that helps longevity and quality life span according to studies.

    For me personally, back when I was low bar squatting I kept getting injured at about 300 lbs or so. I had a pretty bad back injury when I was 15 playing football and I would reinjure it, rehab it and get my squat back up to 295-305 and get injured again. I haven't had any problems since switching to high bar. Now, that's n=1 I already had a history of injury and I'm so long legged that my back angle on high bar is similar to a lot of people doing low bar. But that's my experience.

    Some people in some situation could have About 10% diff high to low bar.. Hear me out cuz the individual could be training low bar for a long time and .. Once they use high bar.. It feels awkward at first and different Motor patterns .. Maybe with low bar wide stance and with high bar just shoulder width.. Feels awkward and like alien so they can't go as heavy maybe need spent time few weeks or so doing high bar to get use to. But initially could be 10% . I was one of them !

    • @JasonBlaha
      @JasonBlaha  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What does stance width have to do with it? Invalid comparison. There are ultra wide stance high bar squatters.

    • @cairobeast6113
      @cairobeast6113 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason Blaha's Strength and Fitness yes your right there are.. But what Iam saying is this person can be so use to doing low bar high bar just feels weird at first cuz at high bar ya need to be more upright torso .. While in low bar u can bend a lil more and get more back involved if u know what I mean ..esp done in a wider stance ... (For ex if U do a goodmorning with a narrower then shoulder width stance vs. if u do one just outside of shoulder width stance ...I'm almost certain 99% chance u be stronger with outside shoulder width stance ).Of course there are pll who go high bar with wide stance .. But also for some people high bar with wider stance just feels awkward.. Depends on how ur built I guess .. I'm def not defending Jeff .. I'm a fan of urs and just from my exp.

    • @cairobeast6113
      @cairobeast6113 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So what I'm saying is if this Jeff nibble dude spent more time doing high bar and finds his perfect stance and motor patter and etc it could be less then 10%.. For ex are u going to use
      The same squat stance width on ur box squat to ur fs? ? Or vise Versa .. I remember ur fs u took a no more then shoulder with stance ...
      Try fs with ur box squat stance next time for first time
      I can assure ur fs will feel awkward as F...it will take time . But then u can argue there are pll who also front squat with wide stance ... The point is different car has different wheels bro ..
