This video brings back the meaning to my life... I've never felt this before... I've never been in love with a musical genre... I've heard Mozart's operas and Beethoven's symphonies... but I dont know why Jazz Fussion brings to me a feeling that I've never had... a sense of safety, joyness and fullfillness... I almost want to cry.
Personnel: Kenny Garrett: alto saxophone; Mark Turner, Boney James, Kirk Whalum: tenor saxophone; Rick Braun: trumpet, flugelhorn; Larry Carlton, Jeff Johnson: guitar; Bob James, George Duke: piano, keyboards; James Genus: acoustic bass; Larry Kimpel, Mike Manson, Nathan East: electric bass; Harvey Mason, Ricardo Jordan, Billy Kilson: drums; Lenny Castro: percussion; Gabriela Anders, Kevin Mahogany: vocals.

This is without a doubt one of the best live jazz concerts I have seen on you tube, and one of the best out of the many Montreaux videos that are one......fantastic.......
At 00:20:54, George Duke checks the time on his watch, as a marathonian of sound who goes on to other live concerts in Montreux, or just "oh i got time for a little jam" throughout an egg cooking. RIP
GEORGE IS THE MAN...there's a bunch of guests over the course of the video... Yes, it's Larry Kimpel AND Nathan East... Kirk Whalum on tenor later... Lenny Castro on percussion... Great stuff...

Tinha 40 anos quando assisti esse show pela primeira vez. Quinze anos se passaram e sempre que assisto novamente o encanto e o prazer são os mesmos, nada mudou e parece sempre atual. Um espetáculo!
The guitar player is the famous Larry Carlton....he's played on countless recording sessions including Steely Dan etc. He's one of the best in the world !! Check out his solo on Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan (studio version). And the amazing thing is he did this solo in a couple of takes...totally improvised ! He's a very tasty melodic player who can also play outside. ( meaning more abstract - opposite to melodic )
Can we get more talent per square metre? What a collection of fenomenal musicinas !!This is REAL MUSIC and REAL PROFESIONALS !Hip Hop guys go to school Music to learn to see what you never will be capable to do !
