Another subscriber. Any chance you can do an inner seal (final drive) replacement video. I have my 2004 GS at my holiday home in Fuerteventura and need some guidance on how to replace it. I do not have a specialised tool to pull the seal and the closest BMW dealer is on another island! I hear some people drill holes in the seal and then put screws in the holes to then gently pull the seal out. Many thanks for this video. Greatly appreciated.
Hi Orange Spill and thanks for the feedback & subscription. For the rear drive unit, you may want to remove it from the bike and then send just the final drive out for a rebuild, even Chris Harris sends them out to someone else to rebuild, see video th-cam.com/video/L0_j8SuiFQI/w-d-xo.html If you want to try this yourself email me through the channel about page and I can send you the factory manual instructions. - Good Luck
@@RodRidesWrenches Many thanks for the swift response and the additional chanel recommendation. Don't feel quite so isolated now.. Cheers! I'm going back to London in a few days so will revisit in May when I'm back here (Fuerteventura) with the bike
Go Canada ! Can hear the accent come through clearly. May the truckers be blessed and may Trudeau go the way of Herod. I really needed that tip on the fender thingy because I struggled with it last night and was cursing German engineering. Also I came up with an extra little black washer ? Does it go on the back part of the shaft housing where the one fender bolt goes in ?

So the diff was low on oil then because as you lowered it no oil came out of the filler on disassembly

Have you seen it by time 11:47 ?! It is cracked (damaged)
Yeah, and then the "crack" continues into the air.. Amazing.
Why 220 instaed 180 ml?
That is NOT a differential!
I just dropped my 2023 GSA oil and there was 220ml from the factory
