Also, I know this is predictions, but I highly doubt Houston and especially Miami will reach those numbers, since Houston’s large population is only due to its large sprawl and it can only sprawl for so long and Miami will be lost to rising sea levels by like 2100-2200. Great video though.

I am currently living in Patna which has roughly 2 million people . When I saw Patna making in the list , I was like 'what !!!' When I saw it surpassing the current most populated city in India , I was filled with joy because currently my city is the capital of the poorest state in India.

And then you find a city like Niamey who has according to the 2012 census just over 1 million inhabitants, in 2181 (year I need for my research) suddenly Niamey in Niger has 75 million inhabitants. What happened over their?
Niger has the highest fertility rate and the highest population growth rates in the world according to worldometers, the country also added nearly 900 thousand people in 2020 alone and it only has about 25 million, the country has such a rapidly growing population that's why Niamey is projected to grow so large. Infact if current trends continued Niamey would have 200 million or so by 2181 but because population growth will eventually slow down it doesn't grow to be as big as it could be. The last factor is increasing urbanization and just the general geography of Niger. The country is basically just full desert I the North. The south is the most habitable part of the country and that land area is not that big, the capital also happens to be in this small area of land which is why the city is projected to grow so large. With such little habitable land most of Niger's future inhabitants will have to live in a very select few amount of areas.
