Just sold my e70 x5m for a 09 550i 6spd. Totally different cars but I love the 550. My x5m was white on black wheels and now I’m wishing I looked for a white 550 instead of the space grey I got. One thing that popped on my truck was the big M red calipers. Goes great on the white paint with black wheels. Just gave it this exotic look. I think red (or yellow in your case) M5 big brakes would be awesome next move for you. Beautiful car none the less. Keep it up!
Nice ride! I, too, drive a 2008 550i. I’ve got the Dinan intake as well. To get the most out of it, install the Dinan Stage 2 software. You’ll feel an obvious difference. It’s 300.00 or so I think.
Do you need dinan intake for stage 2 I have the chip but no money for the intake right now could I install chip now and intake later when I get the intake
Dinan Stage 2 without the Intake hardware won’t work. It would work the other way around although not at full potential. It’s a pricey upgrade but well worth it. You won’t regret it.
Yes I still have it. I would go into it knowing you WILL have to get them done. For me, it's about a $1,500 cost for someone to do it. In all honesty, well worth it in my opinion. If you are not somewhat mechanically inclined, some repairs will get a little pricey. What year are you buying?
Just Another e60 I’m buying an 07 I did most of the repairs on my 335i so it shouldn’t be to bad with prices of labour . Have a lot more room to work in these
@@amonero1 I really enjoy my car. Being biased obviously but I think the body style is very ageless and it pulls it's weight fairly well. I think you'll enjoy it too. Biggest repairs imo, valve seals and a few coolant hoses and seals. Everything else is common wear and tear. Not very many tuning options for it but still great. Good luck 👍🏻
Shoos at my town estimate lowest 900 but my personal mechanic does it for 350 and is not that bad other than that it's a great car check coolant expansion hose line to see if its toasty it's only 25 and handy man job pretty much it on those
Hey Walter will be changing my sparks soon should I change ignition coils too I have ngk spark if i did change coils it would be ngk too coils have around 45k miles
I replaced my spark plugs back in October, 2018 with NGK as well but I didn't change the coils. If you can spare the cash, replacing the coils would be a good idea as well.
Google Motor Trend SW-830-BK and that's the one. Might be hard to find now since I believe it's discontinued. I no longer have it though as I replaced it with one of those diy stitching steering wheel covers. Good luck.

@@suhrents8988 it does sound a little better. Subtle at lower rpms but you can hear it pulling more air at higher rpms. Not as big a sound as if it was a cold air intake but it's noticeable.
E60 550i reliable rating in my opinion like a 7.9 and that's good I call it the poor man's m5 where stock the 550i is not that far behind but you can forget about good mods for the price nodding it will lead up to same or almost same price as a used m5

It does make a difference for sure. I like it. Looks nice, performs well. I'd recommend it.

How reliable is it
It has been very reliable for me. I do stay on top of maintenance with OE parts thought (hoses, seals, gaskets and fluids..etc)
