Again a very crisp, to the point and accurate analysis. I have realised that Aayush Tanwar is not a automobile analyst, but actually an addiction. You are really so scientific. Great dear, keep going, the way you are moving. A few weeks back, I did the same analysis. I dropped the hybrid model after the analysis and later dropped mild Hybrid after the recent review of 1.5 Lt engine of Vitara/Hyrydr. Booking Creta now :-)
However, I liked the hype created by Toyota and Maruti. They might fall flat in a few years.

Problem with this analysis is the ARAI claimed mileage values. For non-hybrid Maruti Automatic the mileage is claimed to be around 20 kmpl, which is not even close to what you'd get in real life. For example consider XL6 which has the same engine and transmission as Hyryder/Grand Vitara, and it's claimed mileage is also around 20kmpl. But in real world tests people have found out that the actual mileage it gives is around 11-13kmpl. So that would be the same case for Hyryder/Grand Vitara as well.
Now for the hybrid variants, the claimed mileage is around 27kmpl. And in real world tests so far people are indeed getting around 22-24kmpl, some are even getting as high as 26kmpl.
So the actual mileage of hybrid variants is roughly twice more than that of non-hybrid Automatic. Which makes hybrid more economical for sure.

Very good analysis. My friend have sonet and he get milega in city 10-12. And his monthly spend on fuel is 7000-8000 so if he will purchase hyryder than gel will save per year 42000 and in a 10 year 4 lakh max. And also hybrid looks more premium and futurestic. You can't compare with petrol car.

    Yearly 4000-5000 km running
    NRI
Milage, safety, average boot space reqd.
    Less maintenance charge reqd.

hybrid will give around 20 kmpl , (both in city traffic) .
      now calculate
plus after 8-10 or may be 12 yrs , hybrid battery might need replacement which cost 2-2.5 lacs now and after around 10 yrs whatever its price happens to be , we can't say .

Our daily running is 110km in which diesel comes 650km of range on full tank @ 22km mileage of 30 liter tank capacity of 3000 rs full tank diesel
Where petrol come 450 km of range of full tank @ 15km mileage of 30 liter tank capacity of 3700 rs full tank petrol
    So diesel car makes senses
    200 km extra running
800 rs I'm saving on full tank diesel

Good analysis, 2 cents from my side:
    - Hyryder V smart hybrid variant and V hybrid variant has difference in feature as well, that should also be adjusted from the cost.
    - Petrol inflation is not adjusted, it's not right to calculate future savings basis today's rates
    - Finally, now there are official tested on road mileage figures available that should be considered in place of ARAI mileage, the actual mileage in city is somewhere around 15 vs 23
Also, if you look closely mild hybrid V variant is comparable to strong hybrid G variant and then the difference comes to 40-50k which is nothing and taking a strong hybrid G @17.5 lacs looks like a steal deal.
    Let me know your thoughts!

Nice analysis Ayush. However, the Hyryder top models may not be appropriate in the first place to compare as the feature set is different, and one is not paying 1.9 L extra ONLY for hybrid technology.....IMO we need to take out the cost of addittional features (like ventilated seats, TPMS, HUD, wireless charging) first to take the actual diff in the two technologies to compare, which comes out to be a lot less than 1.9L ex-showroom.

Yes, the cost is not entirely for the hybrid technology. Kia and Creta top models are also in the Rs 18.X -19.X Lakh range, without hybrid. Still Tanwar's analysis is very scientific and commendable. I would say his vlog helps us make informed choices.

Great analysis but there is a stark difference in real work avg. Any petrol SUV avg will drop to 10 after a few yrs but strong hybrid will sustain 20+
