the AQ mount and how its described in this video is so INNACURATE. you had to do the hardest quest chain EVER, and complete it within when ANOTHER player(s) complete it within 10 hours of them ringing the gong.

The only reason I even have the Zulian tiger is a friend wanted it, and I ran it for weeks with her (this was in Wrath when we could solo it). I didn't even want it, I wanted the raptor. Well, I got so used to running it, the one week she was sick and couldn't, I ran it myself for the raptor... and got the tiger.
What a simp. Rofl.
I got the ashes of alar in my 2nd try cause my friend really wanted it so I ran it with him a couple of times. Fisrt time was normal, no ashes of alar. 2nd time right before kael'thas, his dad wanted him to go to bed (it was really late) So he gets off and says "itll prolly not drop anyways"... it might've dropped. He was a big mad.
When I started playing WoW a friend showed me Ashes of Al'ar and said that he really wanted it, he took me to the raid and ofc, it didn't drop. The week after I went there alone for the 1st time and guess what? I dropped it xD
Pretty much had reverse happen to me, ran with a friend every reset for the tiger, we saw the raptor drop months before and I passed it to her on terms I get the first tiger drop. The literal last reset before removal I was tied up at work so she ran solo and got the tiger drop
Ashes of Alar is ez to get when u got multi-chars at high lvl to farm raid...here a real hard hunt to do.....Sunwell recipes...hunt each of them for each profession ;) that's a nightmare..same for Heroic deathwing life-binder mount(raid take so long to clear)....or try for Love Rocket...a lovely 63 years long to farm if u got only 1 char(u need 10 at cap lvl to find it within an average of 6 years(not skipping a single day of the event)....other one to torture yourself on..the grey camel in Uldum(you cant tell weither u got competition or not as the map is so large...even have realm jumper to take from your serv).....i'am happy enough to have find those---> Zulian Tiger(black version)..0.1% drop rate...raptor thing that's also from Zandalari dungeon...0.1% drop rate too.....purple Stone Drake from Deepholm(forgot name)....Void Talon(caught the portal a total of 3 time and called 2 ppl to second and third since I already looted from first one)....Heroic Deathwing Life Binder(urgh....Ultraxion and the Spine.....way too long...cant even use saves to skip to deathwing on multi-char on Heroic :S)

I got Deathcharger when I was level 58 way back in the day on my very first toon. I won the roll and didn't even have the riding skill yet. lol
Just to add, the original faction mounts would probably be #2 instead of Deathcharger's Reins. While everybody was able to obtain these mounts in Vanilla, eventually Blizz offered upgraded model versions by trading in those mounts. Thus they would never be obtainable again.

This reminds me of something I did in vanilla wow. There was a hoard quest where you could hunt/tame a white tiger and one day I went to the spot where they would fight it as a night elf hunter and attacked and tamed it when they summoned the thing, it wasn't a pvp server so they couldn't do anything to stop me so I ended up running off with what was partly a hoard exclusive pet.
The Green Fluorescent Mechanostrider was given to the character Klonak, on the same account as the druid(ess) Nimsha, that had the storm crow and raven mounts.
After trying to sell my account because I lost my job (reclamation of payments made and effort [hours] put into the game), life took a turn for the worse for me for a little while.. they kept showing up to taunt me and eventually tried a mental kind of torture with the character deletion.
I told them to do it and it was done, then I began again. People thought it would matter to me.
I even remember their real names.. :-P

a youtuber named kakio exposed that warcraft bible was making all his videos out of someone else's article and simply reading the articles out loud with background footage made by other youtubers and then claiming video as his own, after this was revealed warcraft bible lost all his subs and deleted his channel you can see the video by going on Kakios channel on youtube and looking for a video called "the problem with warcraftbible"

This came up as a recommended video. I've stopped watching at 0:11 because you just said "Watch all the way to the end..." to see the content the title of the video is describing. I'm not sitting through 9 minutes just to "get to the point" and I doubt others will, too.
If it was named Rarest WoW Mounts EVER!!!!!!! no one would have a problem. I agree its a little click-baity but if this dude changed the title and posted the same content no one would say shit. These videos are just kinda clickbait by nature. I still watch though because its background entertainment when I'm doing something else.
Can still remember the frost sabre grind on my mage... So so soooo ooo long.. Got Deathcharger after I completed the pally order hall mount quest, went back in for a run and yay. So don't always have to mass grind, can just get lucky some times ;)

When did the drop rate for the charger get upped? Was it wrath or cata?
I am not sure the mechanostrider counts for this list... noone owns that mount anymore... so you can't tell is rare but non-existant. The player that had it was said to try and sell the account.. in the process however, Blizzard removed the mount. It would no longer appear in the armory of his toon.
Also... i think you missed the point of the Baron's mount... yeah is just an epic undead horse... but the point of it was to own it as an alliance... as it was the only cross-faction mount for a while, and that's why it was so sought after...

At lvl 70 in the bigining of TBC i got my deathcharger from the second run of strathome with my balance night elf druid and i was sooo happy
My friends have the two items that only one players have. They were PvP competitors season 2-4.
the frostsaber grind gave me 3 levels..... The added quests just barely broke the boredom.

I had the Headless Horseman's Nightmare mount... rarest mount I ever got. Never had any on this list.
Believe it or not. When i first heard about the Death Charger way back in BC, I got this on my first run soloing it. I seriously thought it was bugged because how easily i got it...
What about the Peep's Mount? Kid with an illness got it from make a wish foundation in bc but died I think before he ever even used it. It was the 2nd ever legendary mount but yes I know it had the same model as the Ashes of Al'ar but still only that kid had it.

Isn't the W/S Frostsabre the Alliance counterpart to the Venomhide Ravasaur? I Have the W'S Frostsabre but I don't remember ever working for it
That was me, my chars name was Kritakill, he was a Gnome mage, on the server Arthas (pvp) durring BC.
I didn't even know it was a unique mount till LONG after the char was deleted...

I have the last green Kodo from vanilla Tauren Mount.
played WoW during the AQ event and did that bloody quest chain. The day before the bell rang my internet went down and I didn't get back online for three weeks, so I never got the mount :( Don't think I've ever cursed anyone over the phone the way I did then.
The agony of missing unobtainable items is undescribable.
Frostsaber is super easy if you can dedicate a character to the daily quests
I would like to say the Deathcharger at one point was the only mount a Tauren could get other than their normal racial mount (before then they had a similar worgen ability) and mount scaling went with racial size, this Deathcharger was massive at one point if a Tauren was riding it.

Lol I got deathchargers mount on the first run I did. My bf at the time who ran me through it joked about it maybe dropping. And when he checked the loot he said some very colorful language

i actually got the death charger to drop on my third run. the ironic thing is that i wasn't even farming for the mount but for xmog items. funny how that works out eh? xD

You're right. 10 hours not enough at all. I sleep 14 hours a day and I feel kinda okay, but if I could sleep for 18, I am sure I would feel way better!
Wasn't the Black Qiraj Battletank a reward for completing the Opening Event Quest, so only one person on the server could be Scarab Lord and own the mount?
The guy with the mecahnostrider got banned permanently a few years ago mate..
ZG in vanilla wasn't a week lock out, it was a 3 or 4 day lockout.
Also, the Winterspring mount is a bitch to get, unless you change factions. If you have a horde character, and you get the Ravasaur from Un'Goro. the Venomhide I think, if you change factions it becomes the Frostsaber. I found this out entirely by chance. The Ravasaur is relatively easy to get.

I dropped the deathcharger 2 times in a row in 2 hours. Now its your turn.
I got camped outside of Ahn'Quiraj by the entire alliance for three weeks straight. Every time i'd log on, over 100 alliance would go to the gate and cause enough server lag that I could not zone in or get my corpse. I refused to res at the healer. I was the Highwarlord Kaboom, the bane of the alliance.
I farmed strat by myself to get death charger. didn't need 5 ppl. Also, you left out the time lost proto drake, that's a rare mount to get.

i dont know why he is dividing the chance by 5 when the drop chance is still 0.something and it would still be a 0.something but you would have a 20% chance to get it or a 5% chance to get it if it dropped if rolled on depending on raid size and group size.(excluding if someone has the mount or not.)

That and if your server, computer, Internet wasn't up to the task you wouldn't have even been able to zone into sithilus
Okay so there are three awful stories about how I watched the Zulian Tiger, the Deathcharger and the Northren Blue Turtle running away of me...
First off, the tiger. This was before it was removed forever on WotLK. A couple of friends and me, I was playing on my boyfriend's account because didn't have my very account yet, were on Zul'Gurub for different reasons: one wanted an achievement, the other one wanted the raptor and my boy wanted the tiger. It was fine and fixed that we would just get what we wanted. Well, we were defeating bosses and so we looted the Zulian Tiger mount. One of us passed while I instantly needed for it. I was super excited but the other guy also needed for it and rolled the mount... COULDN'T believe it!! He said it was a very rare mount and he won't mind to get it. He was lucky he was an in real life friend otherwise his friends would have dropped to zero.
Also, he haven't played World of Warcraft ever again since WotLK ended. The mount is on a death and abandoned account...
Then, the Deathcharger was an ironically funny but painful story. I started grinding it all by myself and once my boyfriend told me to accompany me. I were like "NO I won't risk for you to troll me because I've been looking for this too hard!" Okay, so I enter and there is no luck for me. Two minutes later my boyfriend loots it justbecause on his solo run. I've been grinding it for 7 years now and still haven't looted that fucker.
The Northren Blue Turtle is what happens when you help someone to train up Fishing. Like seriously, don't ever help anyone on Northern.
My boyfriend went to the bathroom and he asked me for help. It was fine for me since he was on his latest Fishing points. Suddenly an item with the portrait of a goddam turtle shows at my face from a crate and achievement aswell. That day I cried and screamed like a Tumblr meme. Since that day I spent all my WoW subscriptions there but it seems impossible.
The turtle happened before the Deathcharger and that's why I declined his help in the first place: anything mine goes to him for some reason.
Your math is off on the Zulian Tiger mount, assuming you are running with the same group each week. Assuming the 2% drop rate, your group should get it every 50 runs, which then makes your chances 1/19 the next time, not 1/20. The time after that, 1/18, and so on, your chances of winning the roll increase each time due to there being one less person competing for it.
I used to run ZG every week just so I could get that mount and then one week my ex-boyfriend came with me and he took the mount even though I begged him to give it to me. This was maybe a month before Cata and he quit within the first month of the expansion and never played again. The bastard..
there was a greek rogue who banged that gong on his own and screwed an entire server over. the story is on here somewhere.
half the people in my current guild owns that skeletal horse mount.
Bad statistics alert: Assuming a 2% drop rate and a 1/20 chance of rolling to win the rare mount drop (each time), you'd only have to defeat High Priest Thekal 693 times for your chance to have gotten the mount to be more than 50% (assuming once-a-week runs, that's 13.28 years). 1000 runs gives you a 63.23% chance to have won a drop somewhere in those 1000 runs.
the info on the AQ mount is not completely correct, as you don't mention how to bang the gong after the event have started. only the people who completed the long quest chain to unlock AQ could bang it. And guilds used to farm the drops for the quest and give them to one person so that he could open AQ and get the mount. so, only 1 person from each high end guild could dream of getting that mount and if one guild was simply superior to the others on the server then only 1 person would get the mount on the server as 10 hours is nothing compared to the weeks of farming required to finish this quest.

Huh 0.02% on deathcharger?... I must've been really lucky cause I got it my 2nd run lol got it probably 8 years ago
I have the Frostsaber on my Huntard--quit playing years ago--yeah it was a long grind--anyway, it's still sitting on that account doin nothing :D NOTE: Apparently it's easy to get now, so there's that. Tbh, it didn't really bother me that it took a while, but I lived in WoW 24/7 back then :P

Not to be mean but you can't calculate with probabilities like that. For example after rolling a dice 6 times your chance of getting at least one 6 is not 100% but rather 66.5%
I ran this dungeon with a guy and this dropped and I won the role. Only later did I learn that this guy ran it every day since 07 and never once saw it....
THe person that owned the Fluorescent green mechanostrider got it as a mistake from blizzard becaues he accidentally deleted his green mechanostrider.
He realized this and the GM that "restored" it said to just take it since its the only one in the game.
A few years later the original account owner sold his account for a large sum and blizzard got wind of the sale and banned that account.
So really..no one owns that mount anymore
the flourescent green mechostrider was given to a kid with brain cancer. He created a character at blizzard through the make a wish foundation.
The player who has the florescent green mount deleted the mount. Confirmed.

How is Winterspring Frostsaber rare? I see how it was rare before the revamp, but now it is very easy to get. Just a questline and then 20 daily quests

Deathchargers reigns. I had a friend that was farming that and he killed the boss 170+ times (he was counting) and he was getting annoyed and acting like a douche. So we wanted to do some mythic + but he was too busy farming that shitty mount. So I told him to inv me and I’ll get it on my first try, so we run it on personal loot for double the chances. Literally, first try I get it...I gave it to him because im not a piece of shit. The following week I got invincible 🤷🏽♂️

think your math is way off.... tiger mount wasnt that rare on my server. 7 ppl in my guild had, won it myself the first time ever going to ZG, also id have to say the absolute rarest mount in wow would be the Reins of the Bengal Tiger, its in the data still but was only obtainable during beta

He doesn’t. Have it anymore. He tried to sell his account and put in it that he owned this mount. Someone told blizzard and they looked into it and banned him and took that mount away. So technically it’s not in game anymore.
That’s wrong I got that mount aswell on official servers! It dropped at a wolf in northshire.

Wrong. The Old School Rides and Black Tank were the rarest mounts in Classic WoW. Limited time or a one time event. All the other mounts could be farmed every week. The Fluorescent was also removed from the account and doesnt exist anymore.
Uhmm, Stratholme was a 10 man RAID in the beginning, not a 5 man max level dungeon. You might be thinking of Scholomance.
Plottwist: some other player hated the guy / was after the money and said that he would sell the account that has the rarest mount. Blizzard banned that account. (It could be possible? ^^)
