This was a very helpful video in helping me determine that i will be getting this game. I've never played any wargames before and this seems like a great place to start. Not too complicated, and the world and minis are weird and fun to keep me and my friend interested.
It does seem to be a good entry point that way. I know a few people who have entered the hobby the same way!
I just ordered mine today. Can't wait!

Definitely going to require some house ruling. This is the second battle report I've watched from different players and each group has made different choices about how they apply the rules. Namely penalties for range and diving for cover.
I don't remember what I did and I have misplaced my rules! There are some confusing bits, however. I would recommend seeking clarification on the Clash of Ryfles Addendum. The FB page is also a good source of info.

would get into that game but I've not had anyone to play that sort of games with in like a decade
Hmm, maybe solo is worth considering? Quar is certainly niche in an already niche hobby!
