I am working on the time myself but let me just tell you Don.. I have been stacking up vinyl, emblems, lighting, and just waiting for some time! Thank you so much for the great instructional videos!
Figured that you would have a video for this! Great explanation on removing headliner. I’m planning to replace my 3rd brake light. Found a GoRecon that I like. I have never been a fan of how the stock red doesn’t match the tail light red. BTW, I ordered the Freedom Blade and it should be here in a few days( thanks for the discount code)
Did you end up installing this? I am getting ready to do this same tail light install. Any helpful tips for the Recon brakelight install? Also curious did you seal the bolts with anything when re installing?
Curious how you got the headliner back in? The two white clips with the blue inserts, I cannot get those to go back in. One of the white clips has ripped free from the headliner itself, plan on gluing it back. Wondering if you had any tips for the blue part to fit back into the frame? Back of my headliner is sagging now, everything else looks great tho.
The answer is probably ‘yes’ but I went by feel. I also added some caulking to the the locations where the bolts pass through. Not an excessive amount either
Great video and now subscribed - Question.....Did you use RTV to "reseal" the bolts when re-installing the rear spoiler? Thanks so much for great content.
Love this video! Are the bulbs in the 3rd brake light already LED? I'm not finding much on replacing them so I feel like maybe they already are LED and not upgradable/replaceable.
I replaced my reverse bulbs with LasFit bulbs and wow what a difference. I used a lux meter app and it measured around twice the light. Not a perfect test but close enough. I figured I'd do the same with the cargo lights. Keep on making great videos!
You can always practice with some samples before going for the final project. It can be tedious and frustrating especially if you mess up at the end. Check out ckwraps too. He has way more tutorials for free on his TH-cam channel
I found heating it while wearing a wrap glove 🧤 to push the vinyl into the contours worked for me. Then carefully cut out for the lenses. It was easier when I took it right off the truck with the whole valence
@@Donslife yeah could it be wrapped on the truck or would it be best to remove the spoiler? Given that I'm not very familiar with wrapping but I have tinted lights with VHT paint before
@@urbanmechanic9254 now I follow. If you have the camera like mine, I think removal is better since that spot is a pain. If you don’t have the camera, it would be easy enough to do it on the spoiler. Lots of videos on that stuff out there. I do have a taillight tinting video in my AT4 playlist where I tinted it on the truck still.
This looks awesome! Just found your channel and can’t wait to watch thru some of them. Could that wrap have been done while the valance still attached ?
may I add ,from a fellow non factory trained wrapper, yes, by cutting the first piece with a sufficient over hang to cover the gap on the roof side, then cutting a second a second piece of film with sufficient over hang to cover the third brake light assembly.. from my experience, you have to find a way to avoid stretching over a valley for longevity of course, CKwraps was my teacher :D .. great job Don :D
No sir, I inspected the seal along the sliding glass assembly. It looked pretty good. At least I know if I ever experience a leak…. I can fix it myself and know it is done well.
CAUTION ⚠️ These are single use tabs for the splitter! I have issues with mine leaking and I haven't even touched them. Just a psa to anyone doing this

I had my valance bedlined so I never have to worry about cargo rubbing against it and scratching it. Looks great 👍 👌
Not a bad idea

You’re Welcome!
Glad you decided to do it!
Me too!!
So wish I had more patience!!! I suck at wrapping, that’s why I pay to have it done.. Great job and look.
Thank you 🙏🏻

I am not sure of you are asking me or CJ. For sealing the bolts I applied some caulking around the mounting holes.
Hey Don, have you had any water leak through your rear windshield?
No sir
And it is parked outside

Your a style genius
😂 I’ve never heard that one!
Did you replace the led lights with brighter ones or are those stock bulbs in the video?
Stock integrated LED’s. The AT4 and Denali trim (to my knowledge) have integrated LED’s everywhere except the license plate.
another amazing video!!!
Thanks 😊
Is there a specific torque for the nuts and bolts to put the valence back on? Or just by feel? I need to take mine to fix a leak. Thanks.
The answer is probably ‘yes’ but I went by feel. I also added some caulking to the the locations where the bolts pass through. Not an excessive amount either
All bolts and nuts for the spoiler are torqued at 53in/lbs. I got that from the dealer.
Good stuff! Thanks

Yes I used a sealant for the bolt holes
Love this video! Are the bulbs in the 3rd brake light already LED? I'm not finding much on replacing them so I feel like maybe they already are LED and not upgradable/replaceable.
Yes they are!
The only user replaceable bulbs are for the license plate. I made a video for that too

I've not played with wrap before so I'm off to watch all your videos involving wrapping things.

Nice work!
That the part number that you took off
Savage!
Beautiful
Any recommendations on wrapping the sharp edges/contours of the third brake light camera section? Should I heat the vinyl, lay it, and squeegee?
I found heating it while wearing a wrap glove 🧤 to push the vinyl into the contours worked for me. Then carefully cut out for the lenses. It was easier when I took it right off the truck with the whole valence
@@Donslife Thank you! Love your videos. Very helpful!
Looks nice 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Tight!
Thanks Adam!
Do you know anyone who has a video of a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 wrapping the taillights with the vinyl tint?
Sorry I haven’t and they don’t look easy
Looks nice 👌 👍
Do you think the 3rd brake light could be done on the truck?
What do you mean? I applied some dark tint to the third brake light.

Did you have to do any seams on the valance?
Not with this specific vinyl. Some I would have used a seam
Go to TH-cam truck ownership 101 he adds a center console phone charger you mentioned you might add one.
Yes sir! I think I have seen it!
How did you got the cargo camera on your truck ?
It came with it as an option from the factory
Looks great! And you definitely make these things look easy! What was the real time it took you to do this? Nice work!
Thanks Man! Easily 3-4 hours due to disassembly and reassembly. Faster if I didn’t have to film parts.
Love it
Thanks Carlo!
Looks good …. A Lot Of WORK THO
I was up for it and the payoff was worth it
This looks awesome! Just found your channel and can’t wait to watch thru some of them.
Could that wrap have been done while the valance still attached ?
You could, but there are some pretty tight corners you might want the film to wrap around. But 100% doable

good point. I put silicone around each connection point. Had it off 3 times for various projects. No leaks.
To much work, unless you pay someone to do it. JMO.
For guys like me it’s half the fun!
This is off topic but Did you ever happen to have water leak from the rear window by any chance??
I didn’t before or after
