I always thought that watch was over expensive, but having now seen this video, i can understand why it cost that much.
The attention to detail and quality of parts seem very good.
    A really interesting video.

From my experience so far Mudmaster has the best detailed interior construction compared to other Master of G on the market. Really worth the price.

IMHO the Mudmaster should've been full titanium body with screw back, similar to the Frogman models. At this price point I want Casio to make them uncompromisingly though like the old screw back square G - Shocks. It might drive the Mudmaster's price a bit, but it will be so worth it. It will be right up there with the GWF - D1000 Frogman.

That's because they're meant for different purpose, they buy a Patek because they're an art form. Can't say the same about some G-Shock models. But they're high tech beasts on the wrist

    • @theronwolf3296
      @theronwolf3296 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

First I agree that a Patek is a different animal with different priorities. Cost aside it still would not survive what you can do to a G-Shock, but it represents perfection of an art form.
But even within their own price range, I've found G's to be very carefully designed for durability. I also had a carbon fiber Luminox, which bills itself as a military grade watch, but when I opened it to replace a battery, it was essentially a Ronda movement suspended in a very typical way. None of the layers of protection you see in a GShock.

I disected a fake GG1000 which was a perfect replica from the outside...all functions were working also. The first difference is the screws on the strap, they were not even threaded and just hold via friction...they also dont have gaskets. The second major difference is the battery, the fake uses a single CR2025, the original has two smaller batteries...then the buttons were crap on the fake...they corroded when subjected to moisture... there was also not much of a gasket on the buttons... the glass was also a clear plastic on the fake...

There has to be a weak point on the band for safety reasons. If you get your wrist caught or the watch band caught on something moving or rotating, you really want to have a breakaway feature. So I understand why they did that with the buckle it self. Great video sir, and I subscribe. I could never do this watch justice in a video on my channel the way you do. Outstanding video sir.

The band itself shouldn't be failing though. The pins that hold the band to the watch body and the clasps are what's supposed to fall. I'll have to keep an eye on that on both of my Mudmasters. And I have extra band, in case I want to change up the color theme.

Hello - I am asking for advice - I wanted to replace the bezel in my 4-year-old GWG and clean it. After removing the bezel, the plate with holes protecting the sensor was very dirty, so I unscrewed it and cleaned it. Rather, I correctly attached the round bezel to the sensor and screwed on both plates. Then I sealed the plate with the sensor hole with a piece of insulating tape and started cleaning the clock with a soft brush with a little water and soap. After washing and drying the watch, I peeled off the insulating tape under which it was dry so no water got into the sensor. However, when checking it, it turned out that after turning on the barometer, thermometer and altimeter, an error appears. I thought that maybe I screwed the badges on the sensor wrong, but trying again did not help. The sensor itself was not moved, only after removing the plates it was dry - inside it is like a sponge or a membrane that was wet, maybe drying it caused, or maybe sticking the plate with the holes with tape. Maybe it is possible to reset the watch by removing the battery. I would rather not do it myself, and maybe there is some other way - thank you in advance for any tip.

Did they put that module together by hand. My last casio last 22 years the metal strap broke last year. So i got the Mudmaster GWG 2000. It's a great watch for bush craft.

Is this Mudmaster (or GWG 2000) still water resistant with the crown screwed (not pulled) out?

I like your video very much, it is perfect if you add Chinese subtitles.

Thanks for the compliment. I think I’m going to work on English subs first if I have the time. :)

      The answer from Casio:
      "Dear Mr. Hristov:
Thank you for your email and for your interest in our products. You have contacted the European Support Center in Norderstedt, Germany.
Regarding your question, we can inform you the following:
As the GWG-1000 is not a divers watch, we do not recommend the operation of buttons underwater. "

Hello men, great and most importantly very useful video you do! respect!
please tell me where you can find, order or purchase a module for watches? I have a prg - 80, but the bottom module burned out on them (by the way, I decided to make out after your video), how could this happen - I can not imagine !?
    Thank you.

Glad to know this was helpful, thank you very much for watching!.
About watch parts, I usually bought a used model for cheap and scrap for parts instead of getting a new parts. Casio will charge you quite a lot for any interior parts especially the engine, might go around 100-150usd even if they have it in stock. 😬🙏🙏

Hello, I was wondering if you could make a video on how to change the polarisation of the display on that GWG-1000 . I really have that negative display on my GWG1000 and want to change the polarity of the display on mine. Can you make a tutorial on how to disassemble the display on the gwg-1000?
    Greetings from Germany
    Frank S.

I know you did this video a while back, I was wondering if you have ever disassembled one of the sealed buttons on this watch, I have been having a fogging issue for awhile and haven’t found anybody having the same issue, but have been scared to disassemble to try to remedy the issue... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the case back and lube the o ring, it should help. I had the same problem with my mudman and that seemed to help.

There are a few reports of sticky buttons and moisture getting in this model. Is it a common problem with the model? Or is it happening to those users who purposely abuse the watch. The gwg 1000, 2000 and B 1000 are on my shortlist so want to check before I pull the trigger. My use case would be wearing the watch 24x7 all year round and I just use 1 watch. Watch stays on even while bathing.

I think the 12 h ist on the case so the people who put the watch together or repair it know where the 12 o clock position is!? Just an idea...
