    More than one way to skin a rabbit.
    If you've found a product and method that works for you then no reason to change. Same as the door construction.
    Your work looks mint and the customers are happy. Job's a good 'un. 👌🏻

    Thanks for all the tips. I've made MDF Shaker style doors (traditional way ) and used the poor man's sprayer cheap Wagner . They came out alright but this was before I started watching you. Have some more to do so will use some of your tips. I have a tip for you also. When you get water drops on the MDF, dab it as normal if it is really wet first but to get it dry within about 30s hold a vacuum cleaner nozzle on it so ithe nozzle sticks to the MDF with it's suction. This will remove all the water and leave the spot dry. (move around as needed).

    Would love a decent breakdown of your paint choice opinions man, If you where looking for a video idea like lol.
    just got an airless, very excited , waiting on some fin 210,310 tips in the post, built a little sectioned off booth in the shed, using your booth as inspiration.
    really enjoying this channel , there's not many informal, information packed, easy to watch lads out there doing what your doing.
    Thanks very much for your content.

      Hi thank you. I appreciate all the cool comments 👍👍👍
      Regarding the paints I do have other videos where I talk about what paints I use.
      I'm a bit different from other people. I use silk for my primer and eggshell or satin for my topcoats, all waterbased.
      Again most other spraying type vids will have this info in.
      Really happy for you... airless is great, just need to keep practicing your spray technique and what pressure you need, but after that it's easy and so fast!
      Good luck!
      Cheers ryan

    usually dont worry about the profile they all get filled spraying straight , especially if your doing 3 coats. Btw, ive never felt confortable doing mdf shakers by gluing the styles because of the telegraph on the joints, do you have any solutions for that?

    I noticed a fair bit of flex in those large doors laying flat. Does all that disappear when the doors are hung and upright?

      Apologies, TH-cam sometimes holds back some comments for some reason!
      Yes straight away, I could have supported the door better with a piece of wood, but it wouldnt have mad any difference to how the door is fitted :-)

    Water based silk emulsion, looks good. What brand do you use?

    Does the first coat on anything your priming always look abit patchy/faded until you build up layers or should the first coat of paint still make the panel look evenly covered if you know what I mean? Thanks mate 👌🏻

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well I put my 1st coat on pretty heavy so it's not really patchy.
      If you go less heavy then I guess it would look patchy. That's not a problem in my eyes, it just may mean you need 4 coats rather than 3.
      I do a total of 3 coats and I think it works because if putting on the first coat heavy. 👍

      Yes this is what I do and it works for me 👍👍

    Can you spray water based diamond eggshell or satin over the top of the trade silk?

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do and have for the past 10 years 👍
      Once you sand it back smooth it's just like any other primer/undercoat (in my opinion) 👍👍

      @@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop awesome, do you find its quick drying compared to other primers? Should save me a fortune compared to using Zinsser!

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mananddog9884 well on a summers day it'll dry in an hour or so, or half a day if it's not so warm .
      With my space heater on, then only an hour to dry.
      But yeah you'll save a few quid for sure. I stopped using specialist primers a long long time ago...
