Just finished this cake last night and let me tell you it is amazing! I used the lesser amount of apples and brushed the layers with an apple cider reduction for a little concentrated apple flavor. The cake was moist and delicious but the browned butter frosting really stole the show. I used homemade apple chips dusted with cinnamon to decorate. A++. Going to try it with pears for thanksgiving .

You are just simply amazing! One question tho. If I puree the apples instead of leave them chunky, would it mess with my wet to dry ratio?
Good question!
Yes. Most of the liquid in the apple chunks stays in the apples. Apple sauce will be too wet.
It looks great and yummy, would it be too much to add also apple butter between the layers?
I followed the written recipe which states 4-6inch pans... I think the layers were to thin and my cake was super unstable. But holy shmokes was it delicious!
I also put the brown buttercream on the pumpkin spice cake!
Heaven!
My kids are asking me to make it again for Thanksgiving and Christmas lol
It’s fun ( as well as very informative) to watch you ( love the music, that’s fun too). Your joy in what you’re doing comes through every time!! Thanks!!
Can I use frozen apples? We had so many from our Apple tree this year that I had to prep and freeze a lot, and I'd love to use them in this cake 😍
I'm sure you've already tried but I'm wondering if maybe you could just thaw them first? I'm quite curious now that's a great question. And what a wonderful thing to have at your own home. I love that!
@@Stbsfa thank you thats a good idea too, I'll try with a small amount first and see how it goes. We're so lucky to have an apple tree 😍
I can't wait to try making this cake I do have a question how would adding half a cup of of toasted chopped walnuts or pecans change the consistency of the batter? I don't want to ruin it but for some reason I don't know when I look at that cake I think about I wonder how would it taste with toasted nuts it. I hope that's not a dumb question.
Hello! A question: for the caramel sauce you added "cream" I wonder if you can give more information on the type of cream please...? The cake looks AMAZING! Thanks for sharing
I literally just made the caramel lol I used heavy whipping cream

This cake looks so delicious with all those spices. While the cake was being frosted with the butter cream and caramel, I was like: "I need to try this". Another great recipe. Wonderful..!!!! (The background music was loudly distracting in this video though). Beautiful cake.
Yum!!! Looks amazing! Love the new intro too! And thank-you for being one of the few cooking channels that include grams and mls in your recipes. Makes my life much easier!
