Here some other tips that I discovered with my bunny!
My bunny (Who is free roam and sleeps with me in my bed) used to go ham on chewing my blankets and sheets. So I got her, her own fleece blanket so whenever she tried to dig and chew at the bed I would give her the fleece to play with. Now whenever she wants to chew she goes to her blanket, or if she's trying to be stubborn I give it to her and wiggle it in her face and it deters her from wanting to damage stuff. Works with carpets too. As a bonus I put the blanket in the corner of my bed, and she goes to that blanket to sleep on.
Another tip, if your bunny is on carpet give them a little mat that's their's to chew and dig on, (that is made of a good material that they can't ingest) they'll see that as their special area and be more interested in that than your carpet. Whenever they try to chew the carpet, just give them their mat and eventually they'll get the hint.
One more! If you tell your rabbit no whenever they try to dig or chew and then deter them with their blanket or mat, then they'll learn that that's what they should chew on and that you don't want them eating your stuff.
It was trial and error for me and my rabbit, but now she's pretty good with not chewing on stuff that's not hers. I hope this helped someone!

When I first got mine I was scared cause my room is carpet so I thought they would chew it but no they don't oddly and they used to love sleeping in this random box I had in my room but one day my dogs broke in and started to lick one of them I put her on my bed and dried her off and when I put her back down she hopped back on and sister did too ever since then they never wanna leave my bed they only chew on one pellow and only come off when they Wanna eat or they wanna chew on this cardboard flap

I didn’t realize the phobia of hardwood and laminate flooring was a universal thing! My bunny refuses to walk on those and will only hop from carpet to carpet 😂😂
My bunny learned to walk like a ninja on those XD now we have carpet and tile floors that have a bit of grip and she looooves this new house because of it.
My dog is the same way- she hops over non-carpeted areas
Yeah my new rescue is easy because she won't leave the blankets. But we're going to the vet, maybe she just has long nails and sore hocks.

After 3 months of my bunny's "phobia" she just got bored of her carpets and explored on her own time. Now she roams the whole apartment. Couldn't be happier #adoptdontshop lol

We get the natural jute rugs just knowing they will be temporary! Just rescued another pair of buns, one is not spayed and will dig, scratch and destroy anything she gets her paws on, so it's safe to say.. if your rabbit is not spayed or neutered, rugs, carpets, blankets, towels etc will never be safe! 😅

I found my bun in the woods and I doubt she's spayed. I built her a pen on top of two large throw rugs then I put down 'waterproof picnic mats' from amazon or a bed and bath store; they sometimes get a little chewed at the corners so I just layer blankets there and put the edge under the pen to hold the side down. She gets tons of other chewy stuff and the picnic mats are machine washable which I love. we rent so she is not free roam but has most of a bedroom for binkies. (I have an indoor kitty and whenever they came close to each other the bun would pee so I can't have her doing that on the floors or bed)
I use fleece at the moment, although if i could find a jute rug that wasnt 200+ dollars, id likely get one for my bunny. theres no way i could spend that much on a rug that'd likely be destroyed.

I've got 2 bunnies toffee and tricxie I adopted them from a women I know who rescues them and takes them in for forever homes they are very well bonded and they free roam them In my living room since watching your videos I have had real passion on improving the way I care for my rabbits so thankyou for this channel I absolutely love your content and you are the sort of inspiring person we all need to learn how bunnies deserve to live thier best lives just like any other animals and hopefully we see more movement in the bunny world. Any animal can be destructive as times so why bunnies are so under valued illl never know. I've found even ripping up pieces of cardboard making sure there is no cellopate on and they are entertained for hours and ain't even bothered about the furniture. Apart from my coffee table and tv stand legs which Is a pain as they are wood. How could I cover them up so they don't wanna chew them as they have ripped a good few chunks out of the legs 😅 hope to here your recommendations on the matter. Take care beauty's

Destroying the carpet isn't the only problem with such flooring. A bunny who is really active (like mine) can "burn" its paws while running and quickly changing direction. That's also an issue if you use it inside its cage. You know, the popular fleece blankets as flooring. Making it softer won't help with sore hocks in this case. Here in the Czech Republic, we can buy hemp mats (?) which are amazing. If your bunny is litter trained you can use one for two to three weeks (rotating it after some time). Their downside is that it's not reusable and it's not very cheap. But it's eco-friendly in its nature (degradable) and I don't mind spending money on my baby. She deserves the world. ^.^
When running outside her cage I give her option of deep (therefore softer) linoleum with 3D pattern (to imitate wood, but it gives Nessie something to grab on), cotton rug from Ikea to play with and some fleece as an option. She prefers linoleum and bed for jumping around. And me as her personal hill. ^▽^
Would love to see a “what my bunny’s destroyed” video! Maybe also one about vaccinations? My boy had his first one today and for hours he hid away under my bed. Scared the life out of me! Got him finally to eat and drink 😅

Loralei please be careful with that exact rug (white one) my rabbit got a full on blockage because of chewing on carpets. I almost lost him he had a 30% chance of survival. He made it. Thanks to Almighty God. People should be careful especially the sides where you showed on the carpet. Thanks for the advise! It was definitly highly requested and too often looked over. Xxxx

I am so glad I found your channel. I've had my bunnies for a year now and when I first got them I was looking up everything I could about bunnies to learn and I came across your channel and I love it and it's been so helpful. My bunnies when I first got them were in a bunny hutch and they very quickly outgrew it. Also when I got them I thought they were both girls. By the time I found out I was wrong it was too late and Molly had babies. Sam was immediately fixed and has been so sweet with the babies. Im going to keep 2 of the babies that I've gotten so attached to. I'd keep them all if I could but I just don't have room to keep 9 bunnies lol they have their own room in the house and when I'm home I keep the door open so they can run around. I have 2 cats and a dog too and they all get along and cuddle and love on each other I love it. My bunnies are lion head and reinlander mix. I'm rambling but I just wanted to say thanks for your channel it's been super helpful and I feel like I've been able to do better by my bunnies with what I've learned from your channel and that's what's most important, that they are happy, healthy and taken care of :)

Great advice! I'm an occupational therapy student and typically for slippery rugs, we use double sided tape! Works very well for those with wheelchairs or walkers, or goofy bunnies! 😄👍🏼

I love this!! I always go for the rule "it's better to be safe than sorry" when it comes to picking out floorings/fabrics for a bunny. If you think theres even a slight chance of the rabbit digging into that rug or carpet, then don't buy it. Go for one you're 100% confident your rabbit won't chew :) Have a great day, love the video as always Lennon!

I count myself extremely lucky after watching this that my bunny boy has never shown any interest in chewing any of my rugs or carpets, and I've got a super shaggy one that he sleeps on and he's never been bothered by it!
I love the sea grass rug idea for a chew toy though! Definitely gonna keep my eyes peeled in future.

I’m hoping that my boy’s the same, he hasn’t shown any interest in chewing since I’ve got him (he digs a lot though). And i have a new shabby rug that I’m dying to put down! Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
My bunny has a blanket, a timothy mat, a pumice stone to chew on, he and the cat share a scratching post, and he enjoys 'flying' he climbs on shoulders and we carry him around. He is adorable.

8:05 - That type is my bunnies' FAVORITE type to chew. They grab a strand, pull, and eat. I had to get rid of those rugs.
Every bunny is different! As I mentioned, nothing is guaranteed but shorter fiber rugs are definitely less risky than long fibered ones!

You didn't mention anything about flooring and the effect it has on rabbits hocks. I think that's a huge factor in the flooring decision. I used to have my rabbits on carpet and rugs but one of them who doesn't have strong fur on his feet got sore hocks from it while the other was fine. I switched to exercise mats with fleece and sheets.

My bunny slips like crazy on laminate but he's a carpet eater so we tried lino, and he pulled up the edges and ripped it to shreds!
i got my rabbit a memory foam mat around christmas time because she loves her other mat but it was so old it wouldn’t move or adjust to anything it was useless, so i bought her a new one and she absolutely loves it, it’s her favorite spot in the room i check it regularly to make sure she doesn’t chew or ingest any foam and so far so good! i’ll keep these in mind if she does start to chew

Wow I'm so glad I found your channel! I have a one-year-old bunny and I've been keeping her in a big ex-pen but thanks to you I've been bunny-proofing my room and getting ready to transition her to free-roaming in my room. I have a bit of a problem though, because the floor of my room is hardwood and my parents are afraid that my bunny is going to pee on the floor and ruin it, even though she's fully litter-trained. I've been trying to figure out what kind of rug or carpet I can use on my floor, so thank you for this video!

I would love to watch that video about what Lennon destroyed. My two bad boys are extremely hard to keep an eye on. Let me tell you. They ate my headphone wire, remote buttons, every pair of shoes(I didn't realize until 6 months after I had them, yes, they even stole my shoes on the shelf!), hair elastic band, yoga matte, my notes, handbag hanging on the chair(they tried so hard to reach and they succeeded), my dining table, my jeans(how is that tasty??). Thank god they didn't chew on my carpet. I would be broke.
Coconut & Chocolate my bunny chewed my Nintendo switch wire... like... 3 times in a row XD and of course much more. The they like most right now is my Harry Potter rug T.T

Love this video - I too have had fitted carpet destroyed, the ceramic tile in the corner really works and stops them digging. I would love to see a video of things Lennon has destroyed, that would be funny as she looks so cute and innocent!! Would also love to see, following on from the flooring video, a video about preventing sore hocks as that's really common in house rabbits x

I don't know what it is but as a recent bunny owner, I find it how your videos are in synch with the issues I'm encountering! We are currently in the shredding carpet stage and we got turf for his primary area but he's shredded through that to the carpet. I will definitely be making a trip to target today!
