Liquid Graphite Spotlight

In this video, Noelle shows off Guerra Paint's Liquid Graphite (a staff favorite). She starts by demonstrating some burnishing techniques in dried samples of liquid graphite. She talks briefly about how liquid graphite can be used with or without a binder (unlike our other pigment dispersions). She then applies liquid graphite in several Guerra Paint binders and highlights their effects. She then talks about liquid graphite's semi-eraseability, reactions to different kinds of paper and the fact that once dried it will not re wet ever. In a future video, she will cover re-wettable liquid graphite.

I know thats off-topic, but, does this graphite conducts electricity?

I ordered the dry graphite pigment and put it into acrylic binder to make a paint. Will I be able to burnish that

You probably won't be able to burnish if you use a traditional 4:1 binder to pigment ratio. You might have some success if you use the method Art shows in th-cam.com/video/7o-P41IKyjs/w-d-xo.html . Something like 5-15% binder and a bit of water to make it loose enough. Skip the disperse water, be sure to use an N95 particle mask, and use the paint you make right away (it will probably separate and settle if you store it for a long time).
Alternately, you may have noticed that our liquid graphite has a metallic look when you suspend it in a gloss acrylic or urethane. I'm not sure if you got our regular graphite or our silver graphite- the silver graphite has a flake shape (It is a harder graphite, more like an H pencil. Our regular graphite powder is softer like a B pencil.) and, while not burnished, would have more of a sparkly metallic look if added to an acrylic at 10-20% pigment to 80-90% binder.

Try resoluble medium instead of acrylic binder. Basically it’ll be a graphite gouache. Lascaux make a resoluble solution you can purchase.
