jadyn jones my Petco sells cats and dogs! I once met really playful kittens that were pawing at my fingers and licking them! And I met some really cute puppies!😍💕
The stores often smash up the items or lock everything so you cannot pull their merchandise out and walk around to the front and demand full price refund for it. You would not believe the thousands of dollars worth of merchandise I have had to throw into the crusher/giant dumpster every year.
Have you tried diving apartments? It sounds gross, but those people throw out EVERYTHING. It's really bizarre. Apartment diving around colleges at the end of the school year is also amazing.
HappyHandyLife I know what you mean about colleges throwing out stuff. A few years ago, Auburn University was throwing out all the mini fridges from the dorm rooms to buy new ones, someone I knew got a few of them.
HappyHandyLife The best time to dive at apartments is eviction season/spring. We call this eviction season because landlords aren't allowed to evict during the winter and as soon as it's warm they hand notices out like candy on halloween.
HappyHandyLife I used to live in FL. I would dive apartment dumpsters. Nintendo 360, water bong (Not cracked) blankets cook ware clothes. I could have outfitted an apartment at the beginning of each month.
I wish I had the heart to dig through the trash for stuff. That is a brand new 40B tank which costs $40 during the dollar per gallon sale and like $100 when it's not on. I think an employee or something was "hiding" that there to take home. It does not make sense that they would throw it out when it's perfectly able to be sold. The 40B tanks sell out SO FAST here.
I breed snails for fish feeding and I also keep bettas and live bearers plus some fun extra unique fish. I would have jumped on that tank like no tomorrow 😂 I also want a pet ball python which that tank would be perfect for🤷🏻♀️🐠🐍
@Eric Mezenberg it's an aqueon aquarium watch for petco's dollar per gallon sale and you can get one for a good price. Generally the dollar per gallon is up to 29 gallons and then above are 50% off the aquarium are just an aquarium. Aqueon does not sell with lids, heaters, nor filters.
Better idea; just ask the store manager to save you a pet aquarium that they take back or take in when people get one delivered. Often returned to store items cannot be resold as new, and if they knew you wanted it with them having to do nothing but put it aside in back room for a couple days, you might get it FREE. Make out a few 3 x 5 cards with your numbers and request on it before you go, and go to 2 or 3 stores.
I want to this chain but in my city and they have these sales where aquariums are dirt cheap but have no lids.. I thought they just didnt sell aquarium lids, wtf
Theofficial Hayden, yes, in fact Petco does unfortunately sometimes throw away animals. If you look up "Live Petco animal in dumpster" on TH-cam, you will come across videos showing their harsh and unruly treatment. Please do not take this personally, I just would like to educate you on how Petco really treats their pets.
I love how you keep it clean when you go hunting, not making a mess or trashing the stuff around. Respect. The other guy was using the store dumpster for private trash, what a jackass.

My sister and brother-in-law use to do cleaning, for a company, that had the dumpsters in the back and they use to fill the car trunk with the bags and drive them to the back to dump them, maybe this guy does the same.
Used to work at Petco. Seeing those buckets brings me back. We used them for store use animal supplies. The one that you didn’t know what the stuff was had substrate, like the kind for plants. We added a little water to it and put it in some of the terrariums so they had a slightly moist dirt floor. The perfectly usable tanks are probably returns, so corporate said to toss them. At my old location the manager was cool and gave that stuff to employees.

David Handley 22 years ago I was low on money and needed to pay bills. I lived in California cans you got 2 1/2 cent a can. I would find a shopping cart someone left on a curb and go looking for cans and bottles. I found a good chair one time and someone offered me money for it before I even got it home.

We started collecting our boxes and packing material in recycle dumpsters. We found all kinds of re-usable, sellable stuff, including NEW stuff. But as far as actual business dumpsters we've never done that. We've collected several 'tools' that we use to fetch stuff out of the dumpsters, which we of course collected from dumpster! One is a gaff hook, another is a gadget that we rigged up with like piano wire on a long handle to literally loop around impossible to fetch items (unless you crawl in the dumpster - yuk!). Boy do we understand the RUSH! We found probably 200 or more vintage canning jars w/ zinc lids. Some ignorant person had thrown them in the recyclery, unfortunately breaking about 25% of them.
and by the way, the guy in the red car was doing something illegally dumping his trash. We in the trash industry (sold my trash company in January) hate seeing people dumping their trash inside paying customers' carts. Guys like him refuse to pay for trash pickup, so they use someone else's cart. His county most likely doesn't offer trash pickup, so he needs hire a private company and pay for the service quarterly.
Not a problem and soon to be the wave of the future!!!. The dumpster diving homeless and poor take the garbage and use it so its a zero sum game!. Dumped boxes get re-used for their houses, newspapers for the floor, used tissues for pillows and rotten food for dinner. And Donnie (t)rump will make amerika great again buy cutting back on social services so working as a dumpster diver is how he'll keep "full time employment/jobs" in the good ole USA. AND the best part, the new poor won't have to compete with immigrants for the dumpster diving jobs!!!! I can hear the chanting now USA! USA! USA!
***** Lets focus on the president elect who lost the majority vote, forget the Clintons they're history. Its a known fact (t)rump has continuously lied about his wealth and holdings, and is famous for not paying small and large business people. He went bankrupt 4 times, had to close casinos for losing money (how does a casino lose money if its run properly?). He promised to "Drain the swamp", yet picks exxon mobil ceo, various rich policos, and questionable characters for cabinet posts. Where's the tax returns and why is he scared to show them? Google Trump Financial Lies. He's a disaster. If you are half honest with yourself, you will be feelin pretty disgusted about 6 months after he takes office. Interesting fact A recent book cataloged all the synonyms for bullshit, and one of the oldest dates back to the 1400s. It originally referred to trickery and scamming, although its meaning has evolved to include general nonsense and insignificance. That word: trumpery.
American Polo Lmao 😂 wtf are u 12? You got all of that and more from a random background character passing by as if you know his story.. man these youtube comments
Am I the only one that said ohhhh when you saw all the videos? Score! Those are Gamecube controllers. I actually just sold 2 used on Ebay for about $30.
My best dives have been video stores, game stores, computer stores, office stores and book stores. One of my best scores was a desktop PC and 3 laptops in leather cases. Absolutely everything worked.
Noticed those immediately. Easy $5 each or more depending on condition and brand. They work for three systems: Nintendo Gamecube, Wii (not all versions have the plugs), and Wii U (with an adapter and for the game Super Smash Bros.)
The controllers were the first thing I noticed and then he held them up and I'm like....Gamecube dammit! I've been looking everywhere for used ones (at a decent price anyway) for the system I'm selling without controllers!
You are awesome I love how you get you dumpster diving Rush so exciting not knowing what they're what Big Score you going to get the Lovett great job remember Christmas songs to be a winner you have to hustle
Hey Pete! You make really REALLY entertaining videos of the dumpster diving. So much enjoyed this one! You have a great personality, that's why. Cheers man! :)
Social Misfit that is a stupid question it's not OK to go fill somber else's dumpsters with your shit because you don't want to pay to get rid of your trash. I'll come to your place and fill your garbage cans and see how you feel about it lol. and they say there is no such thing as a stupid question
I didn't read it carefully that day I thought it said illegal dumpster diving so I thought they were talking about the guy who filmed the video not the other guy you don't have to be such a jerk. And I don't have garbage cans or anything outside so good luck with that man
DaleyGaming I do too and it's a damn shame really. Lots of perfectly good product just thrown away, I wish there was a second hand store we could sell or donate to.
As a thrifter I can agree. Some of the newer stuff at thrift stores are brand new couches and chairs from local companies and miscellaneous stuff from Target.
d aww....so cruel and heartless. He could have at least released them in the grass so they had a fighting chance if finding a home. Bless you for saving them. If it happens again, he needs to be anonymously reported.
Welcome to the free market economy, where it can cost a company MORE to keep a product for longer than normal and still try to sell it, or put it on clearance, or find an alternate means of turning a profit instead of just dumping it. It's not always about "save all the items," it is about the bottom line. Yes, they could have donated the aquarium (for example) or did something else with it, but that takes time, money, manpower, etc. It is more hassle than it is worth. It's like the old saying, if Bill Gates had a $100 bill fall out of his pocket, he would waste more money taking the time to stop and pick it up than he would gain by getting that $100 back because his TIME is worth so much, even a few seconds of his time are worth more than $100. That's business. Saving ALL resources no matter what can be a useful community mentality and it has it's place in society, but it's a deadly business principle most of the time. Sure those lost resources could mean something to somebody, but they will kill business if the business is the one who continues to be responsible for connecting those resources to people who value them. Communities are rooted in relationships, businesses are rooted in money; sometimes you save more money by letting something go in the trash instead of investing any more resources dealing with it otherwise, regardless of its potential value to others.
Andrew Debasque he was throwing out garbage... His own not store owned aka illegally dumbing trash so you don't have to pay, this guy looking through the trash is fine BRAH
I love your videos and I'm glad you're so successful. One thing. I know you like to go to Petco, and other places like that, second hand stores, etc. Please disinfect any dog toys before you give them to your pets. If the toy has Parvo on it, it's really contagious and it will make your dogs really sick. Keep up the good work! I love watching!
I would have grabbed that first item with the broken glass. Glass panes are crazy cheap at most home centers. You could have picked up enough glass to repair both of those for about $5.
Aflal Refai If that was his intention on pretending to find a tank, you would think he would do a better job at hiding it. He probably filmed the first clip after he found the tank and buckets. That also explains the sudden change of weather from the first clip to the diving clips. The day started out cloudy and then sunny in the end when he films the clip at 0:19.
I found a picture with glass and a really nice frame. I took out eveything except the glass and frame, made sure the glass was well glued into place and used it as a lid. It was slightly larger than the aquarium so sat on it perfectly and looked really great. hope that helps. you can find glassed prints often for pennies at a goodwill shop
i work for republic waste way too much shit going in our landfills guys like you who dumpster dive are very valuable to our environment and use the stuff that's good at least its not going to waste
It's amazing what great stuff some people throw away. I scored a brand new microwave for my mom a few months ago "diving". It works great, even still had the plastic on the front. I got a lot of other neat stuff at an apartment complex I did security at. Brand new items--just thrown away.
The display tanks are supposed to be destroyed when you are done with them. Why I have no idea. I think it's the deal with the vendor. I got a few tanks that I made "disappear" while I worked at PetCo. ;)
I'm glad you check Petco dumpsters, sometimes they throw away pets. Really. Google it.
good eatin them varmints!

Billie Bob Norton III lmaoo

I once found a live kitten in a petco dumpster a few years ago. He now lives a happy (and slightly spoiled) life at my neighbor's house! :)
man petco sucks
Alexandra Peck it could have been just a stray that smelled food and went into the dumpster
That probably was a stray. Petco doesn't sell cats or dogs
Alexandra Peck
why would someone do that
jadyn jones my Petco sells cats and dogs! I once met really playful kittens that were pawing at my fingers and licking them! And I met some really cute puppies!😍💕

Ssthose lanterns can be fixed easily or just take out the glass. Wish I found them!
11:47 These are third party gamecube controllers. Worth $8-10. Take care !
You are awesome I love how you get you dumpster diving Rush so exciting not knowing what they're what Big Score you going to get the Lovett great job remember Christmas songs to be a winner you have to hustle
nice find on that 40 gal breeder tank. $90 regular price.
I buy mine for 40 bucks lol. They go on sale all the time
Hey Pete! You make really REALLY entertaining videos of the dumpster diving.
So much enjoyed this one! You have a great personality, that's why. Cheers man! :)
6:26 illegal trash dumper caught on camera
I don't get it, why was it illegal? Was there a sign? (I didn't see it)
Social Misfit because they take up the space that the store bought.
And I don't have garbage cans or anything outside so good luck with that man
Social Misfit do you eat your garbage? XD seriously tho what do you do with the garbage?
Pete you need a long handle grab stick. It has a claw clamp grab like thing at the end of it so you do you not have to jump in the dumpster.
Haha I actually work at party city, we throw away a lot of shit
DaleyGaming I do too and it's a damn shame really. Lots of perfectly good product just thrown away, I wish there was a second hand store we could sell or donate to.
Millionaire dumpster diving. You deserve everything you earn, great work.
Preppers would love those buckets!
Lauralie Karels an aquarium owners
I had fun watching, thanks for sharing this!
sometimes people put hamsters in aquariums.
Idellle
Don't they drown?
lol
MarshMallon
without water
Landrew0
Yes. It is important to give them water. I don't think hamsters are good swimmers
hamsters can't get wet.their fur traps water and can cause hypothermia.
We always bring a larger load home than expected! Love it!
the audio is pretty good on my end.
What do you do with the styrofoam? You said in the beginning that's were you get it?
I know for a fact that Target donates all their "damaged" stuff to Goodwill
As a thrifter I can agree. Some of the newer stuff at thrift stores are brand new couches and chairs from local companies and miscellaneous stuff from Target.
73canela not just that, they donate stuff for tax write offs at the end of the year.
I work at Petco and the manager throws away 1yr old hamsters or unwanted guinea pigs I found three pigs and I took them to my housw
Where ?
A petco in Arizona
d aww....so cruel and heartless. He could have at least released them in the grass so they had a fighting chance if finding a home. Bless you for saving them. If it happens again, he needs to be anonymously reported.
Report them to the ASPCA! That is cruel! 😡😡😡😡😡😡
@@piggypepsiparis3096 if the manager still works there give me a location and I can speak to them
That other guy was dumping. Not Cool bro
Dumping in a rubbish bin? hahah so moronic
moosefighta2000 it is illegal
wow, call the garbage police NOW!
Just a immoral corporations dumpster. They can afford it.
I do it all the time.. didn't know it was illegal lol
That tank is nice! Amazing that you found it without cracks!
welcome to America...ahhh, just throw it away👍
Jesus, it looked like the end of the world with the birds in the sky. And I'm pumped for this aquarium that I'm watching you pull out.
Lmao imagine waking up and thinking "I think I might go dumpster diving at a pet store today"
We're I live dumpster are locked or you can only get to it from the backroom of whatever store it's at or they are in fenced in areas wit barbwire
You don't know what that guy was doing??? Haaa, you sir were the one digging in the trash can...
Andrew Debasque he was throwing out garbage... His own not store owned aka illegally dumbing trash so you don't have to pay, this guy looking through the trash is fine BRAH
also wrong
Pala Luka wait what, you pay to dump??? I'm in Australia and I don't do that so maybe that's just ur law
Tanah Tramantana
illegal to dump trash in private property
I'm pretty sure a Petco employee put that tank in there for when he got off. I'm sure he was super pissed when it wasn't there lol
"I didn't score anything big"
title: "BIG score at PECTO"
lol ok
I love your videos and I'm glad you're so successful. One thing. I know you like to go to Petco, and other places like that, second hand stores, etc. Please disinfect any dog toys before you give them to your pets. If the toy has Parvo on it, it's really contagious and it will make your dogs really sick. Keep up the good work! I love watching!
This man is crazy but also a genius
I would have grabbed that first item with the broken glass. Glass panes are crazy cheap at most home centers. You could have picked up enough glass to repair both of those for about $5.
Ahhhh, he missed the GameCube controllers, dang free money.
IDK, They looked like 3rd Party ones
Do you tell your customers that you get the stuff out of random dumpsters?
pretty sure that guy just illegally dumped
yep lmao
Yep, and over a million people around the world watched him do it. He'd probably die if he knew. Haha
Did the aquarium have a leak to it because that the biggest reason to throw it out?
7:24 that guy probobly didn't know wtf you are doing
Jess Crafts that is a guy that doesn't want to pay for trash
Jelly Doobz I
Did you relays that the tank he says the he found is on his car before he got to petco 0.19
0:19
Aflal Refai If that was his intention on pretending to find a tank, you would think he would do a better job at hiding it. He probably filmed the first clip after he found the tank and buckets. That also explains the sudden change of weather from the first clip to the diving clips. The day started out cloudy and then sunny in the end when he films the clip at 0:19.
He did not know
11:50 who would throw out those perfectly good dinosaurs!!
I like this guy haha he's cute and I like how he talks
Emily yeah he's pretty funny
boockets
I purchased a pair of sunglasses on Amazon with an HD camera built into them. You should look into it if you plan on making videos like this.
was that cheeky begger putting domestic rubbish in their skip!?!
So can anyone explain why the same exact tank was in the back of his truck in the beginning
that fish tank would have been like 50 $60 at pet smart
that aquarium is a 40 gallon breeder retails at 150 but they have dollar a gallon sale so you can get it for 40 bucks.. great find
So he just goes dumpster diving, sorts out the good stuff and sells it at his store? Wow is it realy that simple?
The display tanks are supposed to be destroyed when you are done with them. Why I have no idea. I think it's the deal with the vendor. I got a few tanks that I made "disappear" while I worked at PetCo. ;)
