I own a three bedroom townhouse. Totally love it. Have made it our own over the years. Enjoy this fun process. Very excited to see what you do.
My house was on the market for 1 day before we looked at it and put an offer in on the 2nd day. It was just one of those meant to be situations. When I saw the listing I knew my husband would 100% want it (2 garages). We got an amazing price on it because it needed major updates but the location and property itself was exactly what we wanted. Lots of mature trees, quiet, next to a massive wash (wildlife & no neighbors on that side) and lots of property. It’s our dream home. We plan on being here for 20 years (until we retire).
I would dieeeeee if you renovate that place Ioved the journey with your LA home
tara seems so much happier living close to her parents and obviously we only see very small portions of her day but i really hope she’s happier because she deserves everything.

I love the honesty in your videos. This pandemic pushed me to go back to school to finish my degree because I lost my job in the serving industry. It's so overwhelming doing something so new and challenging. It's nice having someone to be able to relate to and be so genuine about their own anxiety and challenges in life.

Hi Tara. I did the same thing. Came to Jamaica, my birthplace, from the US for a 10 day vacation and loved it so much that I went back to the states, packed up and came back. It has been 9 years and I do not regret that decision. It just feels right! So, you are on an amazing journey and I can’t wait to see how you make your mark in Canada. You are awesome! Three days ago I just bought my first home, a townhouse in the GTA! I'm soooo excited to see your process and what happens, the real estate game here is INSANE like beyond the craziest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to see a future reno series and see any decor inspiration you want to share!! I still have months before we move in to my place so I have tonssss of planning to do! (Also, I had to beat out 30 offers for my place and I'm still in shock that it happened at all, so one other offer is nothing! They also evaluated offers 3 days after the listing went live. Also most competitive real estate agents wait until the very last minute to throw offers in so expect a few more but keep as calm as possible!! If it's meant to be, it'll be!!)

It's so interesting how different areas describe things. In Ohio a condo is basically just an apartment you own and don't rent. Townhouse, elevator, stairs - that's just the setup of the building.
Anyways, be excited and happy. Enjoy the process. Some day you'll look back and I want this to be a happy memory. One that makes you feel blessed. Xo

I've been watching you since you moved into your CA come. When the pandemic hit and you were increasingly getting upset and depressed I felt so bad. I am happy you made this decision to move back home. You are very very happy there. Sell the CA home and rid yourself of negative energy. You will not be sorry. One less stress. Being a landlord is a lot of work, I know. Good luck Tara in any decision you make. You will land on your feet happy and content. A reno series will be seriously interesting. So pleased for you. It is an exciting time (as you already know) to buy a house and renovate it. I am sure your parents will be a huge support. I would probably speak to someone in regards to whether to keep the LA house or not. It has been said that if the world goes into a deep recession in the next year or so due to the after effects of the Covid virus it could drastically reduce the value of Real Estate. I think America will probably suffer quite badly given the way it has handled this so far.
Always put in a clause that ups your price to a certain point so if other offers come in you will automatically outbid them lol

As a young girl I would not feel safe doing that alone at night in my city. Never lived in LA or Canada but I've heard Canada feels safer to many so wondering what your experience has been! Would also be fun to see a us vs canada differences video!!
I've lived in Toronto my whole life and honestly, whenever I visit the US I feel less secure than I do in Canada. It's the overt racism, gun laws and restricted healthcare access that always makes me feel this way. There's just always some shit going in LA (or USA in general), I feel like it's such a fast-paced busy go go go life.
Toronto is the most diverse and multicultural city in Canada. It's also really populated so if you're in the main downtown areas (where I'm sure Tara is looking for property), it's hard to feel alone. Once you leave the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) it spaces out more and yes, some pockets in the city are more dangerous than others but crime rate here isn't extremely high. There's a lot of greenery, parks, outdoor activities and night life to enjoy in the city. We all feel safe going out during night, it's truly when the city comes to life. I've always found Toronto a safe, inclusive and friendly place to live.
That's how life goes sometimes though. You go places and do things you never thought you would've. It's kinda awesome. So beyond excited for you

Super excited for Reno vlogs!! I totally agree about keeping the location private. It’s pretty easy to get someone’s address which is super scary especially for someone living alone. I also wanted to buy a newer move in ready place but the price!! I can’t 😂 But it can also be more fun and rewarding renovating it to your liking.
Write a letter to the seller with your offer!! That’s what my husband and I did and they went with us over another couple (whose offer was higher than ours) because they got a sense of who we were and how much we loved their home!
I hope you get the house!! My boyfriend and I put in several offers this year and lost out, but ended up beating out 27 other offers on the house we absolutely knew was meant to be our home! What’s meant to be will happen for you 💕💕
