      Cheers Charlie, yeh these 2 were ideal to start with as it was very windy at times. Next hike was much better weather wise, so we opted for Sgurr Mic & the In Pinn.

    Wow, superb video Frank and stunning scenery. Looked a bit breezy on the tops....out of interest, what make/model are your boots as I like the look of them and are they a normal fit size wise. Mine fell apart after doing An Stuc and the boggy walk out yesterday. Keep up the great content 👍

    • @hikingwithfrank315
      @hikingwithfrank315  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Euan, thanks for watching and the comment. Scenery was absolutely stunning up there with all the tops on show. Was a tad breezy the 1st day, conditions got better as week went on.
      My boots are Scarpa Mescalito mid GTX. I find them brilliant for scrambling and general hillwalking although I just use them in summer, I use a heavier boot for winter use. I’m a size 9 Euan and got the size 9 in the boot and they fit fine, although I would say they are narrower than my Salamon Quest 4 boots. My Scarpa boots are well broken in now and are so comfy, I love them.👍 hope that helps a bit.

    I've yet to venture over to Skye but have heard differing views on using a guide. My dad used one years ago and bagged all the Munros over a weekend while bivvy camping so I thought it would be a must. I've then heard people saying that you don't need one however, seeing your conditions and the terrain I think a guide could be a good consideration.
    Would you feel confident doing these without a guide after bagging them?
    Great viewing and some squeaky-bum moments in that bluster.

    • @hikingwithfrank315
      @hikingwithfrank315  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for watching and subbing.👍 I had done 2 munros before this trip on my own and found it no bother, altho they were easier ones. Having gone over the rest of them on my latest trip I’m glad I used a guide, some of the down climbs are a bit tricky with some exposure and route finding would be difficult on some in the clag. If you were quite comfortable with exposure and scrambling you could prob get away with a couple others on your own. I personally found the climbing much more enjoyable using a guide as they know every foot and hand hold.
      Hope this helps.👍
