You are absolutely correct! It is a corporate slight of hand trick by Uber. While it sounds great, it is not because it is particularly, predatory and exploitive, especially, to new and inexperienced drivers. More experienced drivers may be able to make better, quicker, decisions but this program really raises driver stress levels and I predict many drivers will just turn the app off after realizing the costs outweigh the expected revenue rather than band together to overcome the algorithm. Uber is on the verge of destroying any and all goodwill that still remains with drivers and riders.
Unfortunately but we have to stick together and send them message treat people with respect when I started almost 6 years ago we used to get 75 cents a mile and 20 cents a minute not that made sense and that was for Uber X
I got a reserved ping to jfk NY for 33.00 plus tolls in bound NYC. I refused the call because there is a toll at the verrazano Bridge that I would have had to pay or drive through Manhattan, plus the time on belt parkway bklyn jfk bumper to bumper. NJ Uberx can't pick up in NY, but TLC NY or any plate can operate all over NJ. I did get a nice ride to the Bronx and got a 23$ cash tip and a 10$ app tip all in that ride an hour later from the jfk reserved ride I refused paid 65$ w tips.
Hello sir. You taught me a lot as a driver. I drove for UBER for 6 1/2 years. I am now done with working your advise has lead me to success as a ride share driver. And for that I say thank you! Thank you so much for your wisdom on this game. Much love 💕
Valuable information here, I figured this out years ago within 30 days of my start, and of course way before this new program. Guys Bid yourselves higher, not lower! again, don't auction your services for lower. Value your services! The closer to $2 per mile the better. The cost of everything is up, including your maintenance cost, parts, labor, everything is up. Uber didn't invest in your vehicle, you did, so don't allow them to devalue your services and vehicle. Work those dollars to mile numbers fast! Cheers!
This is super helpful. I would have taken that 90$ trip maybe even the 60 something without seeing all the details right away. I’ll be way more mindful of which trips I take. Thank you for making these videos!
@@ericthesoldier I wish but they are so popular in other countries. Where people don’t care how much they make as long as they make something. That will keep them in business
When i used to do driveshare a 2 years ago i would do runs from phx to tucson for no less than $150.00 and the i would work tucson to make my money so i would not have dead miles when i went back to phx. And sometimes i would get a ride back to phoenix but now i do food delivery now avg 25.00 to 35.00 a hr.
I turned down like 100 calls yesterday here at Charlotte NC. I am an UberX. Only shitty deals. I am making a lot less money now than before since they rolled out these "Up-front fees" Also I don't see what the passenger is paying like before. Also I notice that if the call has "Boost & surge fee" it is not that much different from a regular call without those perks. You are still getting a dollar per mile. What they are now doing is lowering the fare and then including the boost and surge and you are still getting about a dollar per mile sometimes a tiny bit more but not that much different.
Lyft started upfront pricing on November 1st 2023 in Austin,. Texas. I can tell you as a full time driver that rates are at least 15-20% down from previous months. Thank you for this video I accept only rides that are less than 10 minutes away and pay at least $5. Here in Austin, most rides seem to pay Half what the time in minutes is Example: a 10 minute ride pays $5 A 20 minute ride pays $10. Lyft is screwing us good. Decline decline.
I look at how far I need to travel to pick up the passenger plus the distance to drop off pax.. if it’s more than 4 miles to pickup and it’s doesn’t include some money with the full trip I don’t accept.. I really don’t add time into because I’m in Atlanta and 5 minutes can turn into 15 minutes you never know what going to happen here.
We have that here in LA but it’s restricted. We have to complete 5 rides in a row to be able to see upfront information, and only gives you up to 10 rides and after that if you start declining shity rides like those you showing there, the count start going down; even if you accept some rides, it dosnt start going up again but keeps going down until you reach ride number 5 where you are not longer able to see upfront info again and they make you accept any ride so you are able see upfront info. They are tricky and it’s not right, It’s frustrating and annoying. 👎
First I like to thank you for the great videos and information you provide , you are on point in a lot you speak about . I drove in Las Vegas 24+ years as a taxi driver and there is a myriad of things to know and learn for anyone deciding to drive for living. Most important keep away from getting involved in accidents secondly be tolerant of people and make sure you get paid fairly , the turn over in this type of work is extremely high , the more hours on the road the more likely you run into trouble that I promise you , I say this for drivers with less than couple years behind the wheel, the pay percentage compared to a taxi is minimal when you drive for Uber or Lyft also you are not getting paid as you waiting on traffic lights or waiting time as you do in a taxi, to give you a small example a mile in the taxi costs $3.60 this not includes waiting on a traffic light I get 44% of that do the math but you also have to consider I drive a vehicle that the taxi company provides and they pay for gas and insurance, but as you have correctly pointed out there are a lot of desperate people out there that have no clue what they getting themselves into.
This is so true. As a driver I pay 305 a week on the car. Tolls. Gas everyday 50 dollars. Where is the money for me. You have to put so much hours just to make it to pay your bills.
Lyft actually start up front pricing with location pick up and drop off with miles and minutes. Inland Empire is a region that is testing out the up front pricing
I have a 5 mile cap for pick up, I am unfortunately limited on times I can decline rides. The only thing that was making me money was the destination filters. Since they have turned it off, it has cut my profits tremendously. I was able to adjust my time to get where I wanted to go picking people up. When I get close to my destination I would adjust the time so it wouldn't go away. It was fantastic! I would use one for the Airport all day. Now I can't. I would make 200 or more a day, now it's more like 130 because of dry running. I don't like to pick up people in the city anymore. People have ruined it for me. The Airport is safe in my opinion rather then regular city pick up. Uber needs to fix their filter issue.
What contractor accepts a job without a bid, or an agreed upon price? None. Who does work without knowing what needs to be done, nor how long it will take to do it? Salaried employees. Gig workers, working for Uber are employees who are being cheated by Uber. The government of the US is not intervening. Uber is getting away with it, for now.
here in the Dallas market the upfront price/drivers portion has been about 45-50% of the ride....before the upfront pricing it was always about 70% of the ride....this has cost me 40-50 dollars a day in earnings....also at times Uber is charging passengers surge pricing and not showing it on the screen for us...i am a 5 year Uber driver with over 9000 rides....i was greatly disappointed when Uber did this and am struggling in more ways than one now... I am 65 years old with lower back issues and get a very small social security check, so I need a full time job....I have done pretty well with Uber till they did this and even have some benefits and perks that newer drivers didnt have....i have let my acceptance rate fall from 93% to 53% because of all the cheap stuff coming across my screen even more than usual because other drivers are turning it down and it just gets passed down the line. I wished Uber would increase the rates even more duecto cost of living increases and give us back our 70% take and our share on surge prices....as well as change their thinking on long trip requests and just charge full rate round trip miles and time to the passenger...that way Uber and the driver make money going and coming....i have done over 20 long trips of 100 miles or more since 2017...but have turned down at least 8 offers in the last 4 months...wake up Uber!... get together with Lyft if necessary....but take care of your drivers!...I have asked a few passengers if they would understand price increases and they all said yes/ absolutely....
Great Comment Andy. I too drive in the Dallas. I probably decline more than half of the trips they send my way. I never accept anything under $1.25 per mile. I also add the miles I drive to pick them up.. They for sure take more than 45% of the up front cost from the customers, I know this because I gave my friend an Uber ride to Love Field Airport. What time do you start and stop driving? do you also drive on weekends? Weekends used to be good back in the day, now they are slow with bad upfront pay.
I'm in the same market with you sir and I have experienced an even greater income drop. Thus far my annual earnings vs. The last 2 years is 4800.00 down! I will certainly not continue this downward spiral while Uber plays victim and uses new drivers to spit in the face of veteran drivers. I'm 12k rides and 7 years invested! The drivers must unite and hold this Corporation accountable! They owe us who made this company rich!
Make your own business cards and pass them out. On the card inform customers they can save by using you directly and not booking through the app. Accept Zelle, cash app & PayPal. Drivers can use these apps just as scandalously as they have used us.
I usually calculate the time. I might say on the trip you'll showing: 17mins into 60 mins is approx 3.5 3.5 x $14.83 approx $47hr. So I would take this trip. (I know that number is not exact it's just how I do it in my head) Usually I look for $25/hr minimum unless I'm on my way home. I will try your method.
I drive here in Michigan, been using this upfront fare for a few months now. I sometimes forget that not all states get the same models from Uber. I enjoy your channel by the way.
Last night boober reduced the fares that we receive by 10% on short rides. My lowest rate in six years has been $4.05. last night I had over a dozen requests under $4. I have never seen anything under $4 before. And their crazy response when I ask is that we appreciate your understanding with the new rate schedule. They say that they've increased the rates on shorter and decreased on longer rides. When in fact they've decreased the rate on shorter rides
I also calculate the miles and time going to the trip. They have hidden the fees they take out. It used to be accessible in the app. Not you have to log on the web to see it. More trips are 50/50 in fees. I've even seen Uber make more money than me.
I’m so glad that I came across your video. I’ve been doing rideshare for a couple of months now and I fell for the whole trying to get every job they threw at me because I want my acceptance rate to stay at a certain percentage in order for me to maintain what they call diamond or platinum member and now I realize it’s all rubbish. It’s not worth it and I’m trying to get the best out of it now even though my acceptance rate has went all the way way down And they try to guilt trip me over it by telling me that I will lose my status. I’m not interested in their tokens.
I agree Uber’s profit margins are crazy right now. I took a passenger 9.7 miles to work at 10:30pm and he paid about $70 with the surge. He said the trip is normally $16. Uber paid me $9.10 😱!
Absolutely right, it's absolutely unbelievable how many rides Uber has taken 70% or more lately. The writers are actually starting to ask how much of the ride I'm getting and then telling me how unfair compared to what they're paying
The fix for Ubers prey upon drivers is not that hard. Regulators just need to step in and say if you don't want drivers to be employees and keep contractors status then you need to pay drivers a minimum of 75% of the gross Fare. I guarantee you that Uber will very quickly adjust the rates to where they make money and at that point Uber will no longer be able to exploit drivers and everyone will make a living
I also noticed that Uber is not sending scheduled rides out to force you to comply with this upfront and trip radar crap 💩 I believe the goal is make drivers work harder to make the same money and stay behind the wheel longer
Hmm I also add the miles to pick up the person. AND subtract the tolls. In non busy hours, if I'm getting $1 per mile, I will usually take it, unless something is ending soon and I need to be somewhere soon. In busy hours, I double that. I also double if I know I will be coming back empty. Period. If I don't get my way, I literally go home. No charity work here
I do my quick calculation based on the minutes. I can add up the minutes real quick and if the total minutes done at least equal to the rate they’re paying I’d probably pass it up. You have to look really close at the minutes to pick up that’s a big factor. Most of my runs are short runs they’re not very long long runs are a whole total different calculation.
Time is the way to do it. Your fuel is only about 20% of the fare, the 80% is your time. I calculate an equivalent hourly rate. For ex, if it's $10 and pick-up + ride is 20 minutes, then that's $30/hr. Determine a threshold you can live with and decline anything under that. They're using price elasticity models to determine probability a driver will take it. If more drivers set a threshold of at least $30/hr, the algorithm will adjust on both the driver and rider side.
@@zavotrader3616 not just fuel to worry about wear and tear on the car, maintenance, tires ect... So going by time might seem like $30 an hour but in reality after all expenses it's not even close.
I am new to driving, and I have been looking at time more than miles. Especially because the ride can only be like 10 miles, but rush hour traffic equates to 30-45 minutes. I want to shoot for a fare 1/2 of the time, but that’s super rare. This example that he shows in the video of $14.83 for 17 minutes would usually be a 6 or 7 dollar ride here in my area.
This is absolutely true. Let me tell you simple fact in Maryland one day when I drove Uber I was talking to my customer so I said how much you paid for this trip ? He said $20 dollars. But Uber paid me $7.50 only. Look at the difference.
Omg so true...I live in the DMV area (d.c.,md,va) and I just a quick as they send it look at the both to and from miles🤔. Sometimes I will take and BWI airport to the district during rush hour. Your right we have to learn quickly is this worth my gas. Thanks
I look at the ride category, Amount, duration, how far to pick up, and where the ride is going. Higher categories I may go a little further and I have made money doing so
Mr Professor you must also consider the time. A 10 Mile ride that pays $13 but takes 30 minutes is not a good ride unless it's a destination ride. Please mention this to your audience. God Bless and keep up the good work fighting for decent pay.
I have started to just do the minimum because I rent I operate my money through my other gigs Nobody getting paid from Uber for real I make more in one hour with my other gig than with Uber So since they using me and paying the bare minimum then that’s what they will get from me
in Orange County, California from Monday August 15 they cut the time for upfront fares , very quick you even unable to see it , with second beep its gone and your acceptance rate comes down, very clever!!!!
I personally love the upfront fares I hope it doesn't go away. I live in a smaller Market that is 2 hours away from 2 major cities so atleast I know exactly where I'm going before I accept the ride vs before only knowing how many minutes and guessing how much I would make
Every driver needs to make their own business cards and leave them for customers to take. On the card be sure to mention they can eliminate the cost from Uber by calling you directly. 😜 TIT for TAT is what I call that. Steal from me and I’ll get it back.
except when one of those people call uber and tell them that you did this which one of the first couple of people will uber will kick you from the platform forever.
Great comments and advise. I did not look at $ / miles in my decision. I’ve been in an upfront market for three months. Here’s my thoughts. 1/ Biggest issue is three seconds is too fast to make an intelligent decision. I look at the fare, pickup time and try to factor in the destination but most likely it’s an address that I don’t recognize. 2/ At least 50% of the time I’m driving when the request comes in. So detailed information is of no use to me. 3/ These days I usually reject airport rides (normally 1 way trip) rides under $4 (unless very close pickup) , rides over $20 (unless destination close to home) 4/ I only drive during promotions or if I’m coming home from somewhere and I set my destination. Lastly there is no collaboration in the driving community. My local FB group got bombarded with spam and it became useless.
You are 100 percent correct..the only problem I have is..I can't Decline 80 percent of the trips coming in..my acceptance rate is dropping bc of these Ridiculous offers!!
This is the problem, people are being manipulated by the acceptance rate, its a strategy by Uber so drivers accept almost anything, don't fall for this ... We the drivers need to put the price for what we think it's right not the company. They will always want their profits no matter what, they don't care about your citation nor your health, they want you to make money for them...,AGAIN DON'T ACCEPT EVERYTHING... We the Drivers need to come together and put a stop to this ... They have to pay us what's right what we want... not what the want..
The worst ride I did was from downtown San Diego near the airport to Trump Golf Course in Long Beach. The trip was123 miles and I made $130. The traffic alone was what got me. It ate up almost 7 hours to get there and back to San Diego.
The Rideshare guy and Dara had a conversation and it's on video and are basically said it's all the extra cost including insurance is very high is why it's 80% for them. There's much more to it than that obviously you can tell he was shaking in his shoes.
Accepting 2.00 orders are a waste of time and money, most don't tip after delivery, and a lot of times you'll arrive to pickup but restaurant will say it was already picked up, which means the deliverer got a free meal and cancelled the order. I went on a few of these.
Now here in Chicago since they started up front they offer the driver to drive 35 minutes to make 13 bucks so if you except you are not only losing money but after a while they go more down then you have to drive 30 minutes to make 9 bucks
I'm going to make a video on this but how about driving with your preferences off that way you don't get any rights once you drop the passenger off turn your preferences on and guess what now you can accept rights while you're Park safely
Just today Uber prompted me with a feedback question and I gave a one I was pretty ruthlessly honest mentioned all the point you mentioned. And you are as a driver penalize for declining rights I live in Philadelphia PA market I suggested that the CEOs of uber and Lyft need to actually get behind the wheel like the CEO of doordash did deliveries to understand a first-hand experience of what it's like the danger of certain destinations, the limited time to respond while you're driving and in the middle of a ride and a new ride comes in. The continued penalizing on my profile of my acceptance rate when I have a zero cancellation rate and a 4.92 driver.
Love the up front fare. When it was time and distance we were stuck completing trips that did not make finicial sense. Now I complete more than enough 5-10 miles rides that more than offsets the distance on longer trip (20-50 miles). The drivers making less now are choosing wrong trips. Be a cherry picker so that one can't complain about fare. Only take good one !
I can't wait to see them try and roll this out in Las Vegas. Our market is so unique. Airport literally in the heart of the city. Stadium Drop off is terrible takes an hour to go 1.3 miles. Las Vegas blvd is only 5 miles long but traffic is heavy. I won't accept less than 2.50 a mile here and no less than 45 per mile on a Stadium ride.
It's crazy how many new drivers are getting ripped off. I was one of them now I have my calculator and calculate every order I get to make sure I'm hitting at least $1 a mile anything less decline otherwise there is no money to be made none you will literally work 4 5 hours delivering food for free or very little money so great video I'm glad you're posting this it's so important UBER Eats really taking advantage of a lot of drivers. Don't let them there make a fortune and you're destroying your car for the money that's not worth it. Im not saying UBER is bad as an independent contractor You're on your own and they will get any edge on you they can get.
I came here because I thought I was being gouged because they wanted me to go 21 miles for $10 and just as I thought I’m being taken advantage of so I’m happy that I found your video. I have to fight this I don’t care how low my acceptance rate goes. Uber is really currently threatening to leave Minnesota, I believe
It doesn’t matter in most cities because the pay is lowered and being to picky waste time time while you don’t have a pax in the car. This system is bad.
I've driven in quite a few cities and states since I started and come to realize how to gauge what I'm going to make on any given ride (minus any surge pricing). I always look at the distance from pickup to drop-off and find that I usually make half the amount of time given. For example, if a ride length after pickup is, let's say 16 minutes, then I'll make about $8 for that trip. The only difference is one city I drive in sometimes, Lafayette, IN. Lafayette pays $ .95 a mile and $ .13 a minute (Indy is only $ .55 a mile and my hometown near South Bend pays $ .68 a mile. Lafayette is the best-paying per-mile city that I've ever driven in. So I normally make more when driving in Lafayette.
In my area. (Miami Area) Uber eats gives u shorter times for good offers and longer times for bad offers. 3 seconds for good and 6-7 seconds for bad offers.
To make money on Upfront Fares, the driver should call the pax or text the pax and let them understand there will be a mandatory gratuity to help cover costs. I use this to my advantage, because I now they were cancelled by two or drivers. I make most times 20-40 dollars more per long distance of 60 - 70 mile runs with UF runs. My 2019 Buick Enclave Average’s 30mpg on the highway and 22 in town
Haven't started with Uber yet, but I wish Lyft provided fare pricing up front. I'm gold status and all I get are minutes and miles, and not only minutes on auto-que requests. Better than nothing, I guess, but still hard to do any kind of real filtering. Also, I put time and distance to passenger pickup in my calculation, because in reality the example given here is 17 min and 11.6 miles total to complete the fare. Since I don't get pricing from Lyft, I do a minimum 2:1 fare to pickup ratio and usually shoot for 3:1, but pricing for me at least would make it much easer to refine my filtering process.
My 2021 Bolt cost 21k. $1 electricity gets me 40 miles. So calculation amount divided by 10 works for me. Bolt is zero maintenance Except tires. RT calculation is imperative. Hopefully one can transport heading back but odds are high against. Bolt EV is the answer
I've noticed if you calculate the miles if you're in Boston that sometimes it takes you 50 to 20 minutes to drive one mile it doesn't make sense so I take as a total amount of minutes and divided by 2 if the total of front is more than 50% I take it less than 50% I leave it alone but unfortunately Uber tells you to get off line if you cancel 3 times in a row Or reject free rides in the road they tell you to go off
Professor.this is so ture my experience doing Uber just like that. Next trip location . triffic price is ok per dollar. otherwise decline.Uber pay drivers drama not well or we wouldn’t have to done it this way 😢 I really like the destination filter. Great tool for drivers if we know the city. Great video I learned from again. Thx😊
Good info. Im calculating my status. Im under a dollar a mile!! But because i havent canceled a ride, they are giving me upfront details. I hope i can see the amount/ miles and decide wisely. Thanks
You are 100% right. Alot of hungry people buy Tesla and other expensive cars to make $5 trip. Dont care about the miles and the amount they get. They get fucked up with the car before they finish the car loan.
They do the con deals in different markets so they can give surge prices in different markets. It’s an abuse. The only thing I can tell you is don’t work on these 3 days. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Every week.
On trip radar you have to accept an order and then analyze it. Of course you have to cancel it if you don’t want it. That’s a problem because they send out these intimidating emails about cancellation rates . Also I believe that uber and doordash business model is not sustainable. This is why the the structure will have to change. Driver shared ownership is the way to go foward
I started Uber eats in early 2021 and made about $5k driving sparingly. They used to offer bonuses $75-$300 to complete X amount of trips. I took advantage of that. I did not drive at all in 2022 but just started again in 2023. Now the money is nowhere close to what I remember. I could make $100 easy in a day in maybe 6 lazy hours. I’m 2021. Now I’m making $30-$40 in 3 hours. How I do my quick calculations on accepting trips is how much per hour. I get trips for $3 that take 20 minutes or 28 minutes etc. I accept orders that are a minimum $18 hour. I know my general work area very well. I will say nowadays it’s discouraging to even want to drive. Wish you all well.
That was a great one upfront they are screwing the drivers like here in Orlando from marketplace and Disney to the airport used to be almost $14 now take care of me today $11.09 what a screw but GuessWhat like you said it’s gonna bite them in the ass a lot of drivers in Orlando Florida already talking about leaving And he talking about going to Amazon or something else or just quitting so they’re screwing the customer and they screwing the drivers and guess what customers are talking to drivers and drivers are talking to customers about the screw job you know who’s gonna win this battle the taxi industry
Great advice. Yes, you have to be able to calculate total drive time, and distance, and pay within 7-8 seconds. This process is tantamount to Pavlov's dog's experiment to make them salivate when they hear the bell. It's taken me several years to learn to say "No" I won't go Mr. Uber or Lyft. Also, if a driver takes a long ride for $68 dollars for an 80-mile ride they can call Uber up and request to at least get an extra $10. But, in either case, we are still being treated like cheap hookers.
Uber only does what's best for Uber. Always. Remember that.
Just like ever other business in the world...
Nice touch...all the while acting like it's for workers benefit
That's every business. They're always going to look out for themselves FIRST
No, ethical business does not operate Uber way.
Its cheating customers and drivers same time uber must run by Nigerian scammers or indian scammers because all of them sounds like they from india

While it sounds great, it is not because it is particularly, predatory and exploitive, especially, to new and inexperienced drivers. Awesome video! I turned down tons of trips so far that didn’t make financial sense. Another way to take advantage of drivers!
I'm with you on that I'm learning the tactics
We can’t do that in Los Angeles. They will take away the upfront pricing if we don’t accept a certain amount of rides.
And how have your financials been since you really stated paying attention?

I turned down like 100 calls yesterday here at Charlotte NC. I am an UberX. Only shitty deals. I am making a lot less money now than before since they rolled out these "Up-front fees" Also I don't see what the passenger is paying like before. Also I notice that if the call has "Boost & surge fee" it is not that much different from a regular call without those perks. You are still getting a dollar per mile. What they are now doing is lowering the fare and then including the boost and surge and you are still getting about a dollar per mile sometimes a tiny bit more but not that much different.
Wow Uber sucks anyway !
I'm in Charlotte too

Thank you for this video
I accept only rides that are less than 10 minutes away and pay at least $5.
Here in Austin, most rides seem to pay Half what the time in minutes is
Example: a 10 minute ride pays $5
A 20 minute ride pays $10.
Lyft is screwing us good.
Decline decline.
We are very lucky to have your intelligence in order to understand what is really happening. Thank you so much for everything you do 😊
I look at how far I need to travel to pick up the passenger plus the distance to drop off pax.. if it’s more than 4 miles to pickup and it’s doesn’t include some money with the full trip I don’t accept.. I really don’t add time into because I’m in Atlanta and 5 minutes can turn into 15 minutes you never know what going to happen here.
lyft is doing this in indianapolis. Rides basically end up being at a $17-25 hour rate. only worth driving lyft when 3 streak bonuses are up.
I'd rather have low acceptance rate and make money than lose money and have high acceptance rate.
I'm still at 86% barely , but I doubt I will maintain
I totally agree!!!
Me too. The acceptance rate don’t worth to buy nothing.
Don't feel bad I got 9% acceptance rating but 99% satisfaction rate.
Mines went down hill fast. I'm at 42% because I kept turning down $3 runs.
Great Video ERUDITE guidance and no BS CLICKBAIT CRAP like Rideshare Hub Scammers! TY
I look forst and foremost dollars to minutes. Pick up time plus journey time and calculate how much the ride is worth as a ratio of dollars per hour.
That’s it👍👍
About to start driving nights and weekend for extra money, what's a good rate for pay for min?
Exactly what I do
We have that here in LA but it’s restricted. 👎
That’s in all of California
Yes same in Orange County
Same in San Diego
Sir, you are on it! Uber is going down because they are not HONEST! It is just a matter of time!
305 a week 😯
Lyft just started this in Charlotte, NC. I work the 3 ride bonuses and scheduled rides.
You don't have destination filter?
Setting boundaries is always important to contractors, regardless of the industry
I took a ride today that brought me through an alley in South East DC and a drug deal was happening - listen to this man!
here in the Dallas market the upfront price/drivers portion has been about 45-50% of the ride....before the upfront pricing it was always about 70% of the ride....this has cost me 40-50 dollars a day in earnings....also at times Uber is charging passengers surge pricing and not showing it on the screen for us...i am a 5 year Uber driver with over 9000 rides....i was greatly disappointed when Uber did this and am struggling in more ways than one now...
I might say on the trip you'll showing:
17mins into 60 mins is approx 3.5
3.5 x $14.83 approx $47hr. So I would take this trip. (I know that number is not exact it's just how I do it in my head)
Usually I look for $25/hr minimum unless I'm on my way home.
No way he paid 70 and you got 9
J Torres- you run insurance risk with taking side rides like that. Now if you have your own TNC then yes, go for that.
Im not defending rideshare company but the problem is drivers doesn't know how the rate card for Lyft and Uber works.
Uber and Lyft aregoing to be left with desperate drivers and bad service an crappy cars.
I have started to just do the minimum because I rent
I operate my money through my other gigs
Nobody getting paid from Uber for real
I make more in one
hour with my other gig than with Uber
So since they using me and paying the bare minimum then that’s what they will get from me
in Orange County, California from Monday August 15 they cut the time for upfront fares , very quick you even unable to see it , with second beep its gone and your acceptance rate comes down, very clever!!!!
3/ These days I usually reject airport rides (normally 1 way trip) rides under $4 (unless very close pickup) , rides over $20 (unless destination close to home)
4/ I only drive during promotions or if I’m coming home from somewhere and I set my destination.
Lastly there is no collaboration in the driving community. My local FB group got bombarded with spam and it became useless.
Yeah, we are just getting this in Washington, DC area.
Great video Torsten. Thanks brother. 👍🏻🙏🏻 Always on point! 💯
You are brilliant excellent no long distances trip even for 10 mile they give you 9 10 bucks plus tax.
the main thing I don't like about it is sometimes the time to complete trip is a lie. it will say 10 and be 15. big difference
I'm going to make a video on this but how about driving with your preferences off that way you don't get any rights once you drop the passenger off turn your preferences on and guess what now you can accept rights while you're Park safely
Please do a video on this trip radar thing. I have no idea how it is suppose to work.
It doesn't work because it usually triggers when there are no drivers nearby and the pickup distance is significant.
Keep in mind if you stuck in traffic for 1 hour Uber going to only pay you the. 14.83
Thank you for all your hard work professor
Lyft is doing this in my area already - Rio Grande Valley Texas, US.
Why the CEO and his management make $50,000,000/year and the drivers make peanuts??? This has to Stop!!!
Start practicing your mental math. Quick calculations and then yes or no. Set your standards/minimums
It doesn’t matter in most cities because the pay is lowered and being to picky waste time time while you don’t have a pax in the car. This system is bad.
Mr professor the way to explain it is what is the most inefficient way for us is the most profitable way for Uber and Lyft.
In Houston, Uber ALWAYS shows you upfront pricing, but 100 miles away, in Beaumont, it doesn’t show pricing at all.
the math like you said or just knowing your streets in your city to make a quick decision
Really easy, see the miles, see the times and the money.
Facts you speak professor…
Lyft is already doing it, I don’t like it but there’s nothing i can do. We need to stop drive for a whole week
Lyft already does the upfront pay in South Texas
Bolt is zero maintenance
Except tires.
Thx😊
Thanks for sharing this.
This really helped me thank you. 😊
Unfortunately in Boston area lyft is doing the up front as well and a And both suck
cudnt agree more ...am not taking 88% of those "offers"
Me too
It’s a hiway robbery
And u have to do this while ur driving sometimes
I think it also a safety issue. . I can tell my clients don't like it when I looking at my phone and negotiating traffic
Good info. Im calculating my status. Im under a dollar a mile!! But because i havent canceled a ride, they are giving me upfront details. I hope i can see the amount/ miles and decide wisely. Thanks
This might help..I look at the amount than the distance to destination. If the fare amount isn't double of distance I decline...quick and efficient.
I like it!!!!!! Thank You!!!
@@chuckyve9243
No problem...hope it helps.!
@@J__7777 nope...you'd be surprised more you say no to shit offers the less you get.
You are 100% right. Alot of hungry people buy Tesla and other expensive cars to make $5 trip. Dont care about the miles and the amount they get. They get fucked up with the car before they finish the car loan.
in NYC That ride WOULD BE about 18.50 and up
They do the con deals in different markets so they can give surge prices in different markets. It’s an abuse. The only thing I can tell you is don’t work on these 3 days. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Every week.
Thursday-Sunday $1200 easy and calm AND MOST OF ALL CHERRY PICKING
$2 to $1.50 per mile to the pick up and drop off and where the drop-off is the most important thing so that I will a ride requests near by
i take every trip like this however fare more likely is 4.23 x in orlando market .
Lyft is doing it in Charleston and seemed to be a 1.00 per mile every time
I use Maestro app to get full details of trip before accepting. I can see those details
3 seconds is way too short to evaluate a possible trip and down goes my acceptance rate. Give us half a chance uber
Add both the miles up and make sure the price is $2 per mile or reject
I do the same thing. If the prive i not double the mileage i reject.
I wish I could get a fair like this one ..... WTF im in Dallas and fairs are SOOO LOW. Even during peak 8am school hours.
I drive in Dallas too. Weekends are bad too.
What time do you start?
