Origins is actually one of my favorite games of the series. It's got the best boss fights in the series and the detective work is really cool. The only thing it has against it is Kevin not voicing Batman. It's a really phenomenal game. I wish they'd remaster it.

This reminds me of the Mysterio boss fight from the Playstation 2 Spider-Man 2 game released in 2004. I was actually a little scared on what he would do considering everything he does previously in the game. His health even goes up three bars before the fight and you expect some epic reality warping madness but nope. He goes down with one hit. It's hilarious. They actually brought back Mysterio in the new Spider-Man 2 game only this time his boss fight is the reality warping, epic fight you expected and honestly I fully believe they added him to the game just to reference the one from 2004 and add closer to the fans who didn't get an epic fight out of the original.

Origins canon is confirmed in Knight, which makes this series a tetralogy. Best villains, great music. If you played this before City, the ending of City would have had a much greater impact. But I won't spoil it for you. Enjoy.

Most people didn't like this game because it wasn't made by Rocksteady, it was made by WB games Montreal, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill weren't back but instead Roger Craig Smith as Batman and Troy Baker as Joker. It's good to see people showing love for this game because it's so good and underrated. Amazing bosses and narrative and Roger and Troy both work amazing as a younger Batman and Joker.
nah bro after the main story it just becomes terrible, fighting feels bad, flying is difficult, all the side missions are just going there to there and blowing up a stash or fighting a group of people. The map quality is also terrible.
I thought I'd hate not having Kevin Conroy voicing Batman in this game but I really liked Roger Craig Smith's voice work. It made this version of Batman seem grittier than he was in the other Arkham games. The stubble helped, too.
The random physics glitches are happening because of the fps being too high. So I recommend you to lock your fps to match your monitor refresh rate or just enable v-sync
Yeah you are right and ridiculous physics are usually also due to too high fps in games that were designed for 30 fps (or 60fps) console games first. better to cap fps at 60 max when playing old games on high end PC's

Didn't know physX was still supported to be honest, but maybe it's been only a background process in the drivers when back in the day they plastered it everywhere in games to say they got physics in game. origins is actually my favorite game in the arkham series, love the snow setting, the early years batman, more Alfred, this version of Bane, the Deathstroke fight, detective mode, etc.
When I see a game in DC universe it makes me miss Kevin Conroy so much. He was perfect in previous Arkham games. I got a voice acting background and have to say that his voice has been such an inspiration for me since the Batman the Animated Series. The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but actors like him are a great impulse to not give up - I was almost a face of Leon in those new RE games :)

Hugo also doesn’t pose as a threat to batman in majority of city since Hugo himself said that if batman intervenes sooner then batman identity will be revealed etc , considering batman was dealing with the b plot (which is joker ) then he really doesn’t pose much threat to tigger at all. origins have problems with story too like the whole unnecessary jokers plot and some poor use of key characters and there arcs later in the game . Not saying that city’s story is perfect by the way I mean it’s great but nothing shocking the same goes to origins too. I honestly think all the Arkham games story’s are great/good but like i said they are not perfect.

Such an awesome game! Replayed it a few months back and loved every second. I love the pacing on this installation, going from place to place solving detective riddles, locating new enemy strongholds, heading in an exploring and taking peeps down, then taking on the boss. Tried and tested formula, but the boss encounters feel really legit in this one, each so different than the other. To this day the trailer for this game remains a favourite of all time!
Origins is not a bad game, it's just a different experience... Personally, i really like the characters, boss fights, getting some backstories about villains and also the perfect detective mode... I think it'll be good to play it before going to arkham knight... You can even see some references to this game in arkham knight
Definitely do a series of this playthrough. It's a fantastic game. The only reason it gets so much flack from some players is because they're constantly comparing it to Arkham City - which Origins is basically just as good as - it's just that they argue Origins is too similar to City (which it can be), but that's not exactly a BAD thing. If this game came out before City, everyone would say Origins was the best Batman game of all time. Also, the bodies keep flying around because I'm assuming you're on PC. The physics settings on PC are a bit screwed.
This game shows the early stages of Bruce becoming Batman , how he did not have much control on his mind and anger as batman and Other Arkham Games shows how after some years of doing this Batman thing , Bruce got better about controlling his mind , emotions , anger
It's actually my favorite of the 4 arkham games. They're all masterpieces but Arkham knight fell short in the combat and especially the predator encounters, and Arkham origins just took what Arkham city did and gave us more of it with a few twists.

I played this game on when release, and i love it. Still love, i know is CTRL+C and CTRL+V from Arkham City with new story and map, but stills good. And Deathstroke fight, best in the game. 19:25 once a friend told me, if your FPS is too high, this happens.
Arkham Origin is a good game, with some of the best boss battles in the Arkham series. The reasons that people don't like it is that it was made by another studio using the Arkham City as a base, making it look and feel derivative at best. Different voice actors for key characters and numerous small bugs just cemented that first bad impression.
The hate origins gets is definitely only because rocksteady didn't develop it, so it doesn't have their touch. But it's still a great game despite the known performance issues.
Thank you for continuing this series I think if you like this Arkham combat you should look into Mad Max the game. Its combat is very similar but feels much more grounded and has no stealth. I think youd legit enjoy that game

Honestly, origins is my favorite in the whole franchise. it was my first Arkham game and I fell in love with it. And it's still my favorite. This game had so many underrated things and people really gave it a lot of hate for no reason. This game did a bunch of stuff the best in the franchise. First off the story of this game was by far my favorite. A perfect prequel to the upcoming Arkham games.. First off this game had the batcave.. and also had the best alfred and bruce wayne by far. Their relationship and how they cared for each other was so well done. The cinematics for this game was phenomenal. It had some of the best moments in the franchise. (The joker reveal, bane attacking the batcave, the 8 assassin's introduction, the hotel scene,) all of these are some of the best moments in the franchise. And my personal favorite.. the lacy towers murder mistery is not only the most underrated and best moment in the franchise. Personally it's one of the most haunting and best scenes ever in gaming. It was perfection. The best part of this game was actually the joker despite people complaining so much.. this game executed the introduction of joker and how his obsession begins with batman perfectly. So perfectly. The backstoy.. how their rivalry starts is just so good, and builds up for Arkham asylum and city perfectly. Also this game had the best adaptation of bane ever. I would say even better than tom hardy's. And of course the best boss fights in the game. The whole Christmas soundtracks. All were so good. Hating this game is a crime really. And troy baker and roger Craig absolutely nailed it so good. This game showed us a more aggressive and young rageful batman so good. Absolutely amazing. That's why I think this game is the best. It also perfectly explains how killer croc is more human looking and just grows more into a monster in the games. And also why bane is such a big mindless brute in Arkham asylum and why he forgot Batman's identity

This game is perfect for a young Batman. It shows how angry Batman was in the beginning of his career. The stuff he does. He just throws caution into the wind. Tbh I think this Batman would’ve walked over joker in city/asylum. Like joker would’ve quit being joker if this type of rage Batman was in city or asylum. He’s terrifying in the best way possible
This game is definitely part of the Arkham story. It is still a good game, and the only reason people don’t like it is because the game plays very similar to Arkham city. it was also made by a different studio or developer which people didn’t seem to like.

I bought this game day one on xbox360 and it was unplayable for about 3 months until the patches fixed everything. Bought a copy about a month ago that has all the dlc on disc 2 and haven't had a problem at all. Much more enjoyable now.

The Electrocutioner “Boss Fight” may be one of my favorite moments in any game
between that and the 'who wants to show me where the penguin is' it is one of my favorite moments in any game too.

This game is perfect for a young Batman. It shows how angry Batman was in the beginning of his career. The stuff he does. He just throws caution into the wind. Tbh I think this Batman would’ve walked over joker in city/asylum. Like joker would’ve quit being joker if this type of rage Batman was in city or asylum. He’s terrifying in the best way possible
the game is actually canon to the arkham games, arkham knight makes several references to it and mentions events
This game is definitely part of the Arkham story. It is still a good game, and the only reason people don’t like it is because the game plays very similar to Arkham city. it was also made by a different studio or developer which people didn’t seem to like.

I bought this game day one on xbox360 and it was unplayable for about 3 months until the patches fixed everything. Bought a copy about a month ago that has all the dlc on disc 2 and haven't had a problem at all. Much more enjoyable now.

Yeah, Origins is good. It just lacks the polish that the other Arkham games have (and Conroy R.I.P.). Other than that the game is a solid 8.1/10.
