Haven't completely finished watching his Asylum videos but he should definitely check out the challenge maps of that and the others, especially the Joker one in Asylum
2 reasons for people disliking this one is because of all of the bugs on PC and a few on console and because of the Joker twist. When it was first announced players were promised a new main antagonist. Instead the guy that was advertised as the one you needed to beat just ended up being the Joker again.
I would say the joker not as much, but more so the franchise fatigue. I felt people judged it like a new year of CoD in that time. Not saying two points to be dismissed but I do think that was a big one...like was two years from Origins

The shock gloves actually (kind of) were in Arkham city. The Wii U version of Arkham City (called Arkham City: Armored Edition) was developed by the Origins devs, and included some exclusive features like a gamepad map, a sonar-like radar for enemies and most notably “B.A.T mode”, which were pretty much exactly the shock gloves that they would later put into origins. I don’t think Armored edition is canon due to Batman and Catwoman wearing different suits. But technically the electrocutioner’s gloves were in City

IMO Asylum is the best and likely won’t be topped. Sure, gameplay isn’t as fluid, graphics aren’t as polished, and the map isn’t as big. But the tone and aesthetic of that game are literally ripped straight out of a Batman comic. That game isn’t just a game, it’s a claustrophobic experience. Origins and City are pretty much tied for second place for me, but I’d probably give the edge to City just because I think it has more character.

i feel reason why most people didnt talk about origins was because of the looks and didnt really gave anything meaningful and new, and the color was mostly just one thing in gotham which is well grey, for me i didnt talk much about it was because of the finale being slightly anticlimatic, but yeah i love origins it was fun when it was out and people just think it was bad when it wasnt actuslly that bad, maybe it was the multiplayer element that people raised an eyebrow at as well but thats just me speculating by then
Origins is something i really enjoyed when i had originally played it. I also, like most people, wouldn't understand why it was hated on so much. It's a Winter/Christmas themed Batman game and it has some genuinely well directed cinematics and cutscenes. Sure the bossfights with some characters weren't perfect or as epic as they had been lead to seem, but this game is amazing. I think a lot of the hate or dislike is purely cause Arkham City and Asylum were perfect complimentary pieces, they went together perfectly and lead into each other one after the other. Joker died, Harley had her own DLC to star in, and it seemed like we could only go forward from here. But then we got Origins. A prequel that has MORE joker and MORE harley, after they had 2 whole entire games to be proudly displayed in. Plus both Batman AND Joker had new Voice actors. Not to mention many other returning characters. It was only like 2 years after City, and we already felt like we had a filler game in the trilogy's final capstone place. I think it's why Knight is loved so much, it came out about 4 years after City, finally gave us a pilotable Batmobile, a larger and less confined open world; the streets of Gotham (despite it's lack of civillians) and so on. I honestly think it's the perfect end to the series. Too bad it's earliest tale to be told is often overlooked, forgotten and unfairly hated on.
Never understood why this game was so underrated by everyone. I love it as much as the other Arkham games, even more than Arkham Knight and Arkham Asylum.
I like how Batman immediately overpowered copperhead the moment her poison was disabled. It really shows that she isn’t that great of a fighter or the very least is not on the same level as someone like Batman, and has to rely on to stand a chance. Honestly, come across less like she’s able to kill someone who knows how to fight. She’s just trying to keep them busy can finally kill them. So I guess that’s the big difference between her and Bruce. Batman is a fighter and she is a cheater.
origins is a good game it just falls short compared to the other main trilogy. Rocksteady could have learned something about making boss fights from these guys tho. Im also just kinda fed up with the joker was really looking forward to exploring the other villains from the og trailer but like how the they shoehorned joker into the end of The Batman he has to be in everything batman.
Most of the bad reviews are due to the fact that it's not by Rocksteady.. it didn't expand or improve the gameplay much.. and didn't have Kevin Conroy & Mark Hamill The bad reviews were mostly fanboy gripes.. nothing more.. A very solid addition to the franchise and IMHO a MUCH better game than Arkham Asylum.. but not as good as Arkham City
It's not bad, it just wasn't made by Rocksteady and it includes a lot of Arkham City's map in it - which is across a super annoying bridge. Of course, there's also fast travel so that really doesn't count. I will say though that when you listen to the thugs while flying around the map the dialog is not nearly as good as if Rocksteady produced it. Still, the boss fights - with the exception of the first two - are really good. Slade's, Bane's and Firefly's are so good that they make the boss fights in Arkham Knight look downright BAD in comparison.
i cant wait for you to play Arkham Knight bro its really one of my favorites out of all the arkham games because of the upgrades it takes, one little flaw i find is just the batmobile takes up too much gameplay lol but honestly its fine especially with the last arkham games having no batmobile at all
I agree it's a good game, and arguably has the best boss fights of the series, but its biggest criticisms was launching with a bunch of bugs and having Joker as the main villain again despite the entire marketing campaign being about having a new main villain
Arkham Origins is actually my favorite game in the series, one that I would reply over and over if it was remastered for PS5. Where it went bad was the games initial launch! The game was severely broken on release and had lots of bugs and glitches which were game breaking. That turned people off instantly! Then to many, it didn't bring anything new to the franchise. The combat was the exact same as City with little to know new innovation except the shock gloves, which were already featured in the Arkham Asylum Armored Wii edition. Other than that, most of the gadgets were sort of a reskin or early rendition of gadgets we had seen before, like the glue grenade was the freeze grenade, the electronic disrupter was an early version of the one we see in City and Knight. The only real new gadget that was innovative was the Batclaw. What this game did better however than ALL of the Rocksteady Arkhams was the boss fights and it introduced a fast travel system to get from one end of the city to the other without manual traveling. And it gave us an actual visitable Batcave that we could explore and talk to Alfred. To me, WB Montreal deserves another shot at Batman, as I like a lot of things they brought to the table in Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights that made me feel more like Batman than the Arkham games.
I actually just ordered this game for my Xbox series X and a man. I sure can’t wait to get back into it again. I played it back on the Xbox 360 years ago, but I forgot exactly everything about it. This game is definitely one of my favorites between the Arkham Knight, and Arkham Asylum.
I see yall talking about how Origins is underrated and Blackgate is even less known, but only the real ones know Batman and Robin on PS1. Janky, yes, and made after a meme movie, but the amount of concepts and ambition the game had is crazy. Explorable Gotham City, Batmobile (and whatever Batgirl and Robin drive) combat, playable Bat family, "Prep Time" is literally part of the gameplay loop. I spent too much time as a kid making Batman harass and blow up police and civilian cars on the streets tho.
Around Xmas time I always like to play this game. But I hated streaming the game on ps so I got a pc and I just bought it and all the dlc so I'm stoked
I came onto this game for this time yesterday it blew my expectations away the graphics and the story not happy it didn't get goty of 2013 Montréal did good, rocksteady blew it with that massive batman battle at the end
It’s one of the best in the series and one of the best superhero games in general. I think people were just disappointed with the lack of innovation at the time. (also people were starting to get tired of the joker so having him be one of the main villains of this game probably rubbed people the wrong way, even if the joker was really well handled in retrospect.)
People Hated this game because Batman and Joker had different voice actors and if the say any different they lying. Real ones saw the potential in this game when it dropped
@@kregy7509 deadass bro I was 12 when this game dropped, I had the disc on ps3 and no wifi so I too many hours playing this game and listening to the radio
So people didn’t like the Joker twist. I’d say that’s the main complaint. Batman has arguably the best if not top two rogues gallery in comics and at this point people were sick of the Joker and the game was marketed as Black Mask is the main villain. So when the twist happened people were annoyed it was the Joker being the main villain again
People were salty because it’s different from the previous two games, so they people concentrated that more than the fact that it’s objectively a great game.
For me, I don't think this game was bad, just disappointing. I have played each of these games when they came out. When Arkham Asylum basically invented this combat, Arkham City turned it up to 11 and improved literally everything, Origins felt like a copy paste of City. Uses the same combat, hell, even the same map as City with a new coat of paint. The improvements made here weren't enough coming hot off the heels of the massive progression from Asylum to City it just felt like things came to a hault. The game has aged well and thats all that matters now, but the people who say it sucked probably played these games when they were fresh, when we had to wait 2 years for the next game, only we got a repeat of the last one.
Threatening to turn up the man's pacemaker... this younger Batman is just ruthless.

I actually just ordered this game for my Xbox series X and a man. I sure can’t wait to get back into it again. I played it back on the Xbox 360 years ago, but I forgot exactly everything about it. This game is definitely one of my favorites between the Arkham Knight, and Arkham Asylum.
My favorite Arkham game
arkham batman was so brutal in his beginning..the fact this is how arkham batman started is juss crazy
Would y'all play a Soulsborne style Batman game?
Arkham origins is the best out of the 4 in my opinion
Bruh u should've turned the camera towards the bomb timer. The time got reduced to about less than 50 seconds🤦🏾♂️😭. I wanted to see your reaction 😭😂
I’m glad I played this prior to hearing anything about the reviews, the stories are great and it’s cool the see the start of Batman’s career
I came onto this game for this time yesterday it blew my expectations away the graphics and the story not happy it didn't get goty of 2013 Montréal did good, rocksteady blew it with that massive batman battle at the end
i can't explain the joy that i get as soon as i see that you posted an arkham video
Honestly underrated and definitely deserves a remaster!
Bane is very smart just waiting for Batman, very damn smart and this game deserves a remake or a remaster
game got bad reviews cause the state of the game was horrible upon release. Had many problems still was a good story though in my opinion
Copperhead kinda….nevermind.
I recommend you to play sifu is the best combat game I ever played
Just finished playing this game on pc (replay) moving on to arkham city!!! amped
I hope he'll do some side missions like deadshot and shiva
If you like this game you should play the dlc
My friend loves origins and I think it is pretty amazing especially with the characters especially bane this is the best bane in the Arkham games
Make sure you play the boss side missions
I wait every day for your uploads bro hell yeah 😮💨
Origins was my favorite Arkham game. The boss fights for me, are the highlights of the game
People Hated this game because Batman and Joker had different voice actors and if the say any different they lying. Real ones saw the potential in this game when it dropped
Imagine lying like this
@@kregy7509 deadass bro I was 12 when this game dropped, I had the disc on ps3 and no wifi so I too many hours playing this game and listening to the radio
20:49 THIS WAS FUCKIN HILAIRIOUS
Copperhead is hotter than Catwoman. No lie
7:05 FINISH HERRR!
got damn Batman
Thems fighting words
Still waiting for next episode...🙄
Having played all the games, this one is by far my favorite till this day
Your friend who told you its bad is most likely bandwagoning tbh, most people who hate on this game are
I just enjoy playing games tbh whatever genre. I don't mind the mechanics or what not. As long as its entertaining.
23:36 Nah, after that I’m quitting. Batman’s a better man than me.
You and your friend should have a talk
I hype up Origins all the time; it's my favourite Batman-Akrham game.
Flo you gotta do the DLC for this game!!
i didnt like flying in this game and its bit boring later, but i enjoyed this game, recommended!
Easily the best gamer out rn 🙏🏽😭
Ppl didn’t like it cuz it wasn’t made by Rocksteady and it wasn’t Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammill as Batman and Joker.
Before you play knight, please play the Cold Cold Heart DLC
So people didn’t like the Joker twist. I’d say that’s the main complaint. Batman has arguably the best if not top two rogues gallery in comics and at this point people were sick of the Joker and the game was marketed as Black Mask is the main villain. So when the twist happened people were annoyed it was the Joker being the main villain again
hell yeah, this game rocks
It's a masterpiece.
Bro kept asking Vicky to record even tho the camera got shot at 💀💀
I don’t know why people didn’t like it either, it really is an amazing game to play around the holidays it brings out your spirit idk how lol.
I liked it except the joker cause ugh also the assassins cause they aren’t the main bosses except deathstroke
The game its not bad its good really good
it's not bad it's just the same as arkham city but without good boss and different story that has no major impact on the whole series
People were salty because it’s different from the previous two games, so they people concentrated that more than the fact that it’s objectively a great game.
Nobody gonna talk about how he said “im bouta see my parents huh”💀
The moment Batman kills the Joker is the moment he gets over his parents death
Arkham origins was the first arkham game I've ever played and it's easily my 2nd favourite (arkham knight's on top)
