Thank you for getting rid of that horrific paint job it came it with!! Super nice job on keeping the original spirit of the bike intact, while adding a good personal touch, for the customer!
I've been watching this guy's videos for the last couple days it's in I'm just assuming that I haven't watched this one yet but this is going to be another miracle restoration project cuz this bike needs just a little help
Spent another Saturday morning watching your videos. Great. Liked the new "mean mistreated". Had to play some Grand Funk in the background! Looking forward to picking up our restored 74 Z1!
@@Johnnysvintage you're bringing back a lot of history that's an art somebody needs to let you know let you know what a wonderful job you're doing preserving the history of the sports Kawasaki let the good times roll
Great job. Beautiful bike. I always known them to be KZ900 and KZ1000's. Used to ride a "78 KZ 1000 years ago. What I wouldn't do now to get another one in pristine shape.
absolutely beautiful job! just the way someone would have it in 76.Love kawasaki have had 87 kdx 200, 85 gpz750 turbo what a bike! Now I ride a 2000 zx9r and love it.Seeing you do bring these great bikes back to life really makes me want to find one of these and fix it up.with some help from you of course.take care.
russell laureto I'm jealous of the fact you had a gpz turbo .. I've always loved them and they are such cool looking bikes. I had a stock gpz 750 and I had a gpz 900r. Loved it a wished I never sold it.
Another great Johnnys video. These old classics are great bikes still. In the day, I had a couple of Kaws. My first was a kz 650, then moved up to a KZ 1000. I used to go to Johhnys for parts and knowledge. What a great person. Keep it going my friend.
75 is the best Z1 and blue is the coolest color...I've had all of them over the years..traded a 73 Z1 for a Suzuki RG 500 Gamma at one time...now I have a 78 kz650 and a 79 KZ1000 ST...a very reliable and comfortable rider...
Fantastic build! I have a '76 KZ900 that I would like to lower (I have the same sort of stature as the Tree Man). Would love to see more on the process by which you modified the forks.
Couple questions on the build, what’s the little back fire pops? What causes it? Was the tank repainted or a reproduction? Also How Affordable was the the overall build? Gorgeous build!
Pretty sure those little pops on idle and engine braking are from carbs not being adjusted properly for the increased airflow from pod filters and aftermarket exhaust (if they can even be adjusted for that much airflow?)
That's a nice finished too that z900 Johnny Yeah executed that one real good.... I'm going to customise my 1980 ltd I'm going to make it look like a 78 z1000 with the z900 75 colour paint red colour not the blue & spoke wheels & smooth bored carburettors 73 to 75 carbs I'll reject them ... Straight handlebars and z900 seat... the MK2 engine in this ltd it's a super engine smooth & with smooth bored carb's man it's going to move....it's a fast bike as it is...😎😎😎🏍️🏍️🏍️💯💯💯👈👈
Is there a better sound than a DOHC-8 Valve Kawasaki with a Kerker megaphone exhaust? Not to my ears. Although a fleet of two stroke triples rolling through a small town is also pretty impressive.
I love your rebuilds and restorations but why skip on the tuning of carbs and ignitions. I would like to see these done on Z1, otherwise I enjoy 😊 you’re videos. Thanks
Finally, a guy who knows that a "triple clamp" is the correct name for the clamp that holds the fork tubes and the gooseneck. I cringe when I hear supposedly knowledgeable bike builders call them "triple trees".
I've been watching all of your videos. Excellent. Who does your repainting of the original color (Blue)? I have n.o.s. side panels and tailpiece. I just need my tank matched. I haven't been happy with what I' seen. Thanx.

What is up with the constant reving the bike . Just let it idle and warm up . I can fire up my 79 and turn the choke right off and it will idle under 1000 and warm up. You continuously rev the motor????????? When cold

Very nice job ! So good to see somebody getting these Bikes back to usable condition. Thank you from all of us old schoolers.
What a great job you did on that bike one of my favourites so far that you have done
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SOUND WITH THE KERKER
Wow Tree man's bike is amazing! Love the blue! Your work is out of this world!!! 🙌

Sounds Sweet
Rev rev rev I like the idling personally. Great work though just finished my 71 cb750 myself.
That's my old mach 3 500 in the background had one of the blue ones and the white one with the rib on the tank on the side
Your work is awesome! I have a KZ900 LTD, that needs this! What is a ballpark $$$$ amount?

Once you have polished your ally john, do you clear cote them, or do you keep polishing like me
Llew, we keep polishing, like you! We know a guy in Chicago who powder coats in clear, which is another option.
That sound
Who does your vapor blasting?

Why is it idling so fast. My KZ1000 idols around 700
You shouldn't "idolize" that....
I idle mine at around 1100 rpms
Bike is tight! I would lose the rear fender and tuck the tailight juuust a hair. Oh yeah, and low bars and lose the seat r grab handle. lol
Pretty much the standard route with 70's Kawasakis lol
Do y'all work on Yamaha
not too much

just having some fun at my job. It is best to not let them idle low so the motor does not have to work so hard to get oil moving
Throw those pods in the trash and get a factory airbox
totally agree, those pods are trash. bike was designed to run properly on the airbox
Can you give me a ball park amount of money required to restore this bike into a nice runner?
40 k
Wait a minute!! I thought "Treeman's" bike was to be blue, not red!! Did he change his mind?
lost in the trees
Carbs need balancing
Nnnnnice
It already looks pretty "Ground Up" to me :-/
