  • This 1974 Z1900 started out with a green body set, hence the name "PROJECT GREEN." We later installed a nicer body set in brown, for the customer. This gorgeous bike will be featured at the AMCA tent at the 35th annual AMERICADE coming up in June in Lake George, NY.

    The dedication this guy has with these old Kawasaki's is without doubt the best I've ever seen, I used to own an 82' Model KZ 1100 Shaft Drive, and I miss that bike because it was a fine machine to ride, the only thing I changed on it was the exhaust, I installed a set of 4 in to 1 Vance & Hines pipes and I had to have the carbs re-jetted so that it would run right with the baffles out of the exhaust, I believe it was right @ 100 horse power from the factory and the pipes after re-jetting it was right @ 120 HP...

    Have done 2 bare frame restos on KZ1000 and 81 GPZ1100. Great job you did I know what it takes and have learned a few things along the way. Number 1 thing is to start with a an unmolested bike and by that I mean a bike that has not been apart or any engine work done to it.

    I watched this entire video with intensity. Then the end comes with only one freaking second of the final product while pulling up to a stop. Such an incredibly rich video until that disappointment. I was sure waiting to see it shown off!! 😕

    Ain't he great? No stupid custom job that doesn't suit the bike, just a sensible clean-up and re-build. He knows these bikes inside and out and has the skills and experience. If he lived in my country I would be getting him to do a restoration for me.

    What does a set of repro 4 into 4 pipes cost over there? Mine has never had them since I've owned it (81). They seem to be VERY pricey.

  • @CaresforAll
    @CaresforAll 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have one that I'm about to go through what you have. The frame is powder coated and here we go. But what is really, really, really frustrating is that you have a 41 minute video putting it together and you don't really show it completed except riding it (which is cool). I want to see several angles of the bike in all of it's glory, then I will pause and just gawk!

    Where do you get your OEM Kawasaki parts? I used to work at a Kawasaki Dealer in the 90’s and so many parts were no longer available for the 70’s bikes like the H and Z series bikes back then. God forbid you needed an igniter box for an early H1! Has Kawasaki started reproducing parts like Honda does in their Heritage line?

    • @Johnnysvintage
      @Johnnysvintage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, FW... I've been in business 34 years now, and have been collecting longer than that. Kawasaki is my passion, and I've been buying out Kawasaki dealerships along the way. Sometimes I don't have the part, but it's not often.
