  • Didn’t see any videos on this kit so I figured I would post one just to show what it comes with, as well as some modifications I did in order to incorporate a breather filter.
    Hit me up if you have any questions, I’ll be more than happy to answer them the best that I can.

    FYI: check out the brand new Crankcase External Breather [Transmission top cover plate, billet, breather that relieves crankcase pressure]. I just got mine 2 days ago. Currently [installed it a few months ago] running the Fueling Vented Oil Dipstick which appears to be working fine. Trask has 2 videos online, one for install, fairly simple and straight forward.

    I’m sure you’ve found this out already but the mist goes right in to the intake and never reaches the external breather filter. If you check out some of my more recent videos I explain it and go into detail more. But long story short: Trask will trade you adapter plates abs send you one that has no internal vent holes

    I’ve heard feedback that doing the vented dipstick solves the issue when done together. Maybe worth trying.

    I know you know, but DK Customs is the way to go. Their system works perfectly and less expensive.

      Yeah problem is with the DK kit, it most likely doesn’t work with the Trask intake because of how long the Trask bolts are required, it’s very thick where the breather bolts go through.

      @@MotorPsychoMisfit I wondered about that. I bet that breather cost a pretty penny also. Good luck with your endeavors.

    Don't know if Trask is "giving" anything away anymore guess it depends on when you purchased your air cleaner. I paid full bore on my air cleaner and the by pass kit and it was 100% worth it...Check out (Ridin Dad) video's on the matter, they will be a big help...Also Amazon "Beduan" stainless steel barbed fittings for a super clean professional set up. I use no hose clamps on my by pass, it's just not necessary, high temp silicone hose can also be found Amazon it's more flexible and better looking than auto store vacuum or fuel line...I know it's a lot, more so for higher horsepower set ups, builders recommend venting top and bottom. I run a Feuling vented dipstick and Trask air cleaner and bypass up top, it's expensive to play with Harley's as every one knows.🏁🏁🏁

    sorry for my ignorance, but what is the problem with this oil vapor entering the engine again?

    • @MotorPsychoMisfit
      @MotorPsychoMisfit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basically years back the EPA made Harley start venting the heads back into the intakes to reduce oils being introduced to the environment. This venting back through the intake causes increased wear and tear on the cylinders and pistons, creating carbon build up and hindering performance. Bypassing this with an external breather saves your engine and also introduces cleaner air into the intake, therefore increasing engine longevity and performance.

      You don't want dirty oil taking the place of the same amount of clean cool air/fuel.

    Just got off the phone with trask about all this and there is another guy that has done a video on all this and showing what he did..
    trask now is calling people idiots
    Wow anyone want to buy my trask filter
    I won’t be buying Anymore of there products
    He knew exactly what I was talking about and said yeah the holes aren’t plugged but we have bolstered about how many they have sold etc etc so not impressed
    Anyone want mine it’s still in the box I’ll sell it for a good price

    • @MotorPsychoMisfit
      @MotorPsychoMisfit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that’s BS. I really like the intake but it has its flaws. I ended up taping the inner holes and puting some set screws with red locktite to block it off

  • @lividitydeath
    @lividitydeath 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I put the EBK on my trask intake and I'm still getting oil everywhere inside.

    • @MotorPsychoMisfit
      @MotorPsychoMisfit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m seeing some oil too as well. I think we need to replace the set screws on the sides of the intake where the breather bolts are with longer ones to block off the channel going into the center. Then the oil will only have one place to go, out the external breather ports.

    • @lividitydeath

      @@MotorPsychoMisfit never mind, im running on no sleep, it was you who mentioned it lol... yea I think im gonna try and just plug those holes altogether. Seems kinda disappointing that we spent over 600 bucks on the intake and kit with no solution to the pre existing breather holes in the backplate.

    • @MotorPsychoMisfit
      @MotorPsychoMisfit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m an idiot, I just realized that longer set screws won’t do shit because the breather bolts will be in the way so it’s impossible to go all the way through. I’m wondering what is the safest way to plug those holes, epoxy? I’m thinking a a different breather bolt where the hole is farther back towards the EB will help. The oil is going to take the path of least resistance so if the oil comes out right by the intake channels of course that’s where it’s going to go.

      @@MotorPsychoMisfitif those holes you need to plug off are metal… use JB Weld. If they’re plastic…. use an epoxy.

    The aircleaner itself looks ok but with the hoses ? I can't do it ! Trask lost me on this aircleaner ! Far as I'm concerned "JUNK"

    • @MotorPsychoMisfit
      @MotorPsychoMisfit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you mean? The hoses I used in this video are not the hoses that it came with because I routed them to a breather filter under the bike. The hoses that come with the kit are regular rubber hoses and perfectly fine for venting to atmosphere.
