I have received The Lord Jesus as my savior. However, I have this struggle that’s I would call my easily besetting sin. I don’t like it, but I tend to struggle either it quite often. I truly want God to take it from me, but it doesn’t leave.

Perhaps make some commitments to things where you have to attend (like a ministry, sports team, small group etc) so you have accountability to get up and go :)

There aren't enough words to thank you for this! Point number 2 really hit home, I've been struggling with sexual sin for years now and quitting it has been an extremely painful process, every time I fell I felt fear for God's punishment and that made it worst because that didn't made me stop. I still fear the repercusions of my actions but obeying him out of love and wanting to keep his commandments out of pure love and respect has been more powerful in my fight. Sorry for the long rant but I really needed to get it out of my chest. I pray for God to help and bless all of you.

We all fall short of Christ, so there is no 'recurring sin'. For example, the whole of the law is to love God will all of your heart and your neighbor as yourself. What a recurring sin that is! Every day, we fail to live as Christ lived, so why do we hyper-focus on specific sins? The question is, do you have peace with God? Does the Holy Spirit bear witness with your spirit that you are a child of God (Romans 8.16)? Otherwise, unless you are in the presence of God, how do you know if you are right with Him? Christ died on a Cross so that we may know Him. May He grant you peace as you become 'seated in the heavenlies with Christ.' Ask, and you shall receive! Yet, ask in faith, as the double-minded man won't receive a thing from God. Claim your peace, your infilling of the Holy Spirit (Luke 11.13)! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
God will take away any sin. It’s up to us to let go of it and change our ways and never go back to it. We need to be careful not to blame God for letting us deal with sin when maybe it’s our ownself holding onto that sin. God gives us the freedom to choose.
Then why does Jesus say unless their eyes be opened, and they turn away from their sin? Why Does God Grant repentance then? This is confusing to me, Because I've Prayed, I've cried many nights and Still haven't consistently been free

Wow this is such an amazing video and it made me think of other believers how they have fallen from grace and decided not follow God anymore because it’s to hard or their guilty of sin and feel like God hates them because of it or just don’t come to God at all because the fear of punishment when God clearly states there is NO FEAR in LOVE! And believe me sometimes I struggle believing this myself but I need to remind myself of this everyday because I forget and sometimes I forget who my God is and I begin to doubt. This is so good Mark and so true . I was struggling with this one sin about a year ago and I just looked to Jesus and now I’ve been 17 months clean of it praise God!!. However there are other sins I’ve been praying on and dealing with and it’s painful and hurts and I hate it but I have to keep looking towards him . Look towards his love for us . Thank you Mark!

Hi, Pastor Mark, thank you so much for this. This morning I struggled with my old sin. It's not been for a while, longer than before, and I did not want to do that again. I was contemplating, tempted to do it. There was something in my heart I could not put my finger on. It was so devastating and was so tempting to just give in for once more. It's like a flight or fight situation. Then this video came, one hour after you posted, and I opened it. I did not do it, and I'm thankful to God that I didn't do it. It felt like God spoke to me using your video and it was gentle. So, again, thank you, you don't know what you've prevented. God bless you and your family, and keep up the good works for God's glory!

This is where our minds come into play: without mental vigilance, we will let down our guard.

We are the one to decide to repent and turn from sin. Holy Spirit will convict us but we are responsible to ask for forgiveness and repent and turn away from our sin.
Thank you for helping me understand why I am still struggling with addiction. The Lord has transformed me and made me new in so many ways but I can't shake this no matter how hard I try. The Holy Spirit has been telling me to stop relying on my own strength and focus on him, remembering how he's already delivered me from a lot of things. I keep fearing that I'll lose my calling because of it.

I love your teachings because you always give all power to God . His sovereignty is what I learn from this channel . It’s helped me out some of the paranoid teachings I was exposed to of everything being the devil . I realized sin is happening because I’m soul wounded . As humans we run to fulfill the flesh . We must walk by the spirit of God . I noticed wounds are connected to any habitual sin and any habit could be consider an addiction . This is why I have such a heart for the wounded people that the world discarded .

I think my reason is number 2 more so. But instead of fear, it’s relying on myself alone to overcome the sin than relying on the Lord to help me overcome it. I kept thinking that I can do it on my own, which I suppose is a prideful way of going about it. Luckily as of yesterday I’ve finally realized that and He will build me up to the point where He will help me fully defeat it and I will proclaim to the people that told me that lust is a sin that we never stop struggling with while in our mortal bodies. He heard my heart when I said in my mind that I refuse to believe that it can never end while in our mortal bodies. The Lord told Abraham that nothing is too difficult for Him and Paul said that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. So I refuse to believe it’s impossible because nothing is impossible for Him and nothing is impossible through Him. I told the Lord that when that day of victory comes it would be His victory for He did what many said was impossible. And I will proclaim it to my brothers and sisters that it was not impossible. That the Lord fought for me and defeated lust for me while my soul still lived in my mortal body. I simply have to trust Him, be faithful to Him, and keep growing closer to Him along the way. And when the day of victory comes I’ll know and all glory will be His.

I've been a Christian for about 8 years now and have struggled since i was little, of this view of God as a punishing God. I've grown to know this isn't what the Bible says for those who are in Christ. I know there is no fear in love but I struggle with fear, abandonment, fear of punishment. I deeply struggle with receiving God's love and rather tend to perform. I've been through a great deal of mental and emotional abuse from a narcissist throughout my life and recognize I tend to cope with that pain I've bottled up with certain sins. I struggle to let my guard down and allow God's love in.
Some through the water Some through the flood Some through the fire But ALL through the blood Some through great sorrow that God gives us all God leads his dear children along.

thankyou . the fear of punishment is not helping me . i do wish for grace to overcome the desire of my flesh to partake in an addiction. its an addiction to tobacco . i want to be free from it . i cried because i felt so bad that im so far gone that jesus love was not enough for me , that i just felt so much self hatred and hatred for the person who triggered my relapse that it was not enough for me . i need to forgive her shes struggling too . i willfully partied and smiked thats a good typo i mean smoked and drank and felt pleased with myself and then wondered when all the grace drained away the next day . even though i woke up the day after if relapsed in a state of grace ,i could have built on that but no i emptied the pot again . that jesus had visited and placed holy grace in me and i willfully sined and snubbed that state of grace . im disgraced in my own eyes and i just have to forgive myself because i feel like i dont deserve his forgivness anymore . in my state if disgrace and then i became so fearful for the wrath of god . im so messed up . thankyou for reminding me that i need to choose love myself and self love is also self discipline . im in despair at bring so unwise when i know i knew and i still did it anyway the reason i started my sin is because i felt unloved in the first place thankyou for this so much 🙏❤️i mean yes i Will get up and fight . i fiercly desire to fight it . but i think im supposed to use that stregth of will And also to show myself love and compassion . because right now i feel like god and jesus have just left me in disgust and its up to me now to lift myself up by myself . if i cant forgive myself knowing that i have been forgiven even before i was born . how can i fight my flesh ? 🙏i just realised with the help of this video that i need both . both tenderness with myself and sterness .to rebuke my desires when they arise . im so exhausted with myself . tonight i just pray to have the love to forgive myself and start again . im praying that jesus will help me to love myself enough to win my battle even though i dont deserve it . i want him to feel proud of me that im winning , not keep picking muself up over and over and starting from the same place . thankyou for this video ❤️🙏
The fact that you’ve opened up about this God will help you overcome but do this immense yourself in Gods presence you have to learn to stay in Gods presence till that flesh leaves.For eg i struggle with instructive thoughts and to overcome I stay in Gods presence by Meditating on Gods word Worshipping (Yahweh Sabboth by Nathaniel Bassey has helped me a lot ) Listening to prayers against lust and Fasting You’re gonna struggle in the beginning but as you continue the flesh will leave in Jesus Name
God is not in control on this earth. He is in charge….but WE are in control. He gave it to us in the beginning and never took it away. We control what happens and what doesn’t happen in our lives. With the power of the Holy Spirit , we CAN overcome anything that is thrown at us.
I can see recently that I have always made the choice that does the most damage to me. I have two reoccurring sins that don't go away that point directly at this heart condition. I think you are on to something here. Pray that this condition may be resolved soon, as I am old enough to drop from natural causes at any time. I would like to meet Jesus face to face, and not face in my hands.
I believe that it's because he wants us to learn to have more faith and trust in his grace. After all, Paul asked him 3 times to remove a thorn on his side, to which God replied, "my grace is sufficient."
We have grace but its up to us to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh. There are consequences to sin, believe me i know. Keep pushing towards God, repent and keeping fighting the good fight. Sometimes this is a battle that you have to o fight for a while till you respond to God immediately. Dont play with sin, it brings brokenness and death.
I have so much sexual frustration built up. Celibacy, loneliness and no creative project to sublimate this energy has became frustration and hate and bitternes. How can we overcome if He does not help us sublimate? I cant just not have sexual/creative energy! Where is the way of scape He has promised thay i may not fall into temptation? I need at least to do art so i don't have desire for man.

This is so good Mark and so true . I was struggling with this one sin about a year ago and I just looked to Jesus and now I’ve been 17 months clean of it praise God!!. However there are other sins I’ve been praying on and dealing with and it’s painful and hurts and I hate it but I have to keep looking towards him . Look towards his love for us . Thank you Mark!

Perfect timing as always. I’ve been so distracted and busy and tired that my relationship with Jesus has struggled. Hi, Pastor Mark, thank you so much for this. This morning I struggled with my old sin. It's not been for a while, longer than before, and I did not want to do that again. I was contemplating, tempted to do it. There was something in my heart I could not put my finger on. It was so devastating and was so tempting to just give in for once more. It's like a flight or fight situation. Then this video came, one hour after you posted, and I opened it. I did not do it, and I'm thankful to God that I didn't do it. It felt like God spoke to me using your video and it was gentle. So, again, thank you, you don't know what you've prevented. God bless you and your family, and keep up the good works for God's glory!

We are the one to decide to repent and turn from sin. Holy Spirit will convict us but we are responsible to ask for forgiveness and repent and turn away from our sin.

Thank you for helping me understand why I am still struggling with addiction. The Lord has transformed me and made me new in so many ways but I can't shake this no matter how hard I try. The Holy Spirit has been telling me to stop relying on my own strength and focus on him, remembering how he's already delivered me from a lot of things. I keep fearing that I'll lose my calling because of it.

I love your teachings because you always give all power to God . His sovereignty is what I learn from this channel . It’s helped me out some of the paranoid teachings I was exposed to of everything being the devil .
I realized sin is happening because I’m soul wounded . As humans we run to fulfill the flesh . We must walk by the spirit of God . I noticed wounds are connected to any habitual sin and any habit could be consider an addiction . This is why I have such a heart for the wounded people that the world discarded .

I think my reason is number 2 more so. But instead of fear, it’s relying on myself alone to overcome the sin than relying on the Lord to help me overcome it. I kept thinking that I can do it on my own, which I suppose is a prideful way of going about it. Luckily as of yesterday I’ve finally realized that and He will build me up to the point where He will help me fully defeat it and I will proclaim to the people that told me that lust is a sin that we never stop struggling with while in our mortal bodies. He heard my heart when I said in my mind that I refuse to believe that it can never end while in our mortal bodies. The Lord told Abraham that nothing is too difficult for Him and Paul said that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. So I refuse to believe it’s impossible because nothing is impossible for Him and nothing is impossible through Him. I told the Lord that when that day of victory comes it would be His victory for He did what many said was impossible. And I will proclaim it to my brothers and sisters that it was not impossible. That the Lord fought for me and defeated lust for me while my soul still lived in my mortal body. I simply have to trust Him, be faithful to Him, and keep growing closer to Him along the way. And when the day of victory comes I’ll know and all glory will be His.

I've been a Christian for about 8 years now and have struggled since i was little, of this view of God as a punishing God. I've grown to know this isn't what the Bible says for those who are in Christ. I know there is no fear in love but I struggle with fear, abandonment, fear of punishment. I deeply struggle with receiving God's love and rather tend to perform. I've been through a great deal of mental and emotional abuse from a narcissist throughout my life and recognize I tend to cope with that pain I've bottled up with certain sins. I struggle to let my guard down and allow God's love in.

I just watch this and this is so true when my eyes were open that i need to confess my sins,to come to God out of love not because of fears i feel peace everytime i come to God there is always a joy in my heart because im not confessing my sins anymore out of fear but out of love! thankyou . the fear of punishment is not helping me . i do wish for grace to overcome the desire of my flesh to partake in an addiction. its an addiction to tobacco . i want to be free from it . i cried because i felt so bad that im so far gone that jesus love was not enough for me , that i just felt so much self hatred and hatred for the person who triggered my relapse that it was not enough for me . i need to forgive her shes struggling too . i willfully partied and smiked thats a good typo i mean smoked and drank and felt pleased with myself and then wondered when all the grace drained away the next day . even though i woke up the day after if relapsed in a state of grace ,i could have built on that but no i emptied the pot again . that jesus had visited and placed holy grace in me and i willfully sined and snubbed that state of grace . im disgraced in my own eyes and i just have to forgive myself because i feel like i dont deserve his forgivness anymore . in my state if disgrace and then i became so fearful for the wrath of god . im so messed up . thankyou for reminding me that i need to choose love myself and self love is also self discipline . im in despair at bring so unwise when i know i knew and i still did it anyway

The fact that you’ve opened up about this God will help you overcome but do this immense yourself in Gods presence you have to learn to stay in Gods presence till that flesh leaves.For eg i struggle with instructive thoughts and to overcome I stay in Gods presence by Meditating on Gods word
Worshipping (Yahweh Sabboth by Nathaniel Bassey has helped me a lot ) Listening to prayers against lust and Fasting
You’re gonna struggle in the beginning but as you continue the flesh will leave in Jesus Name

I can see recently that I have always made the choice that does the most damage to me. I have two reoccurring sins that don't go away that point directly at this heart condition. I think you are on to something here. Pray that this condition may be resolved soon, as I am old enough to drop from natural causes at any time. I would like to meet Jesus face to face, and not face in my hands.
I believe that it's because he wants us to learn to have more faith and trust in his grace. After all, Paul asked him 3 times to remove a thorn on his side, to which God replied, "my grace is sufficient."

We have grace but its up to us to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh. There are consequences to sin, believe me i know. Keep pushing towards God, repent and keeping fighting the good fight. Sometimes this is a battle that you have to o fight for a while till you respond to God immediately. Dont play with sin, it brings brokenness and death.

I have so much sexual frustration built up. Celibacy, loneliness and no creative project to sublimate this energy has became frustration and hate and bitternes. How can we overcome if He does not help us sublimate? I cant just not have sexual/creative energy! Where is the way of scape He has promised thay i may not fall into temptation? I need at least to do art so i don't have desire for man.
