    Beard grooming doesn't have to be hard. Today Eric is showing you how it's done in under 5 minutes.
    Grab your comb, hairdryer, and some utility balm. Fresh out of the shower, towel dry your hair then comb out the tangles. Take a dime-sized amount of utility balm, emulsify, and work it into your beard.
    Using a medium heat and medium flow setting on your hairdryer, start by blowing the hair upward, then left to right, right to left, then down from the chin to the neck. The last little tweaks are really just about getting the beard exactly where you want it, and locking in the final look.

    Eric, this video was a life saver! My beard is at nearly 5 months and it looked exactly like yours did at the start. Different colour, but same curls and same shape. I was actually going to shave it off recently as I hated the look.
    Watched this video and followed almost exactly what you did and there was such a difference! So much tidier, better shape and very little kink or curl. Thank you dude!
    Love the channel and the brand in general! Getting my first jar of utility balm in the post any day now to try it. Went for Tree Ranger but I'm tempted by old money for my next purchase.
    Much love to the team from Belfast Northern Ireland! Keep on growin!

    So glad I found this vid. I have two major waves in the front of my beard that are very hard to straighten. Your technique of blow drying to one side, then the other, then from under and then straight down has worked wonders! Only difference is I use a detangle brush as I blow dry instead of a comb. Thanks Eric!

    ive tried a blow dryer off and on. and I actually have realised how much I love the shape of my beard not straight. some of you may want to embrace that. towel scrunch dry, balm and oil (very little) comb after and let it go naturally. Some dudes look great with a straighter beard and some dont. To each their own, beard on.

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Sometimes if I straighten too much it'll get whispy at the ends. My beard looks much more dense when it's naturally dried and "crunched." It's good to have styling options depending on the mood and time commitment.

      Abaixo da Crítica blowdry it after a shower once or twice a week, combing through slowly with heat on low following the comb closely, apply beard oil before you blowdry and 90% of the time i do this ive used my beard wash and softener first. keeps it straight for around 2-3 days depending on how well you do it. Thats just my personal method

    Hi guys, I was curious about the heat factor with blow drying...
    My partner has a blow dryer with a cold setting, would it be safer and less harmful to my beard to blow dry cold and would it still give as good an effect on styling? This makes the whole process take longer, bit I'm happy to take a few extra minutes, Cheers guys

    • @abhijithshenoyl
      @abhijithshenoyl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most of us have this problem - I personally started blowing the air from the top and combed the beard on the side downwards - and for the most challenging part 'The chin', as Eric does here I comb from left to right and right to left, as combing downwards makes it to curl up later on. Also, comb that you use is equally imp - use the round hair brush with smaller bristles while doing the above and don’t be afraid to use some products prior…Happy Bearding!!

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can brush your beard while its semi wet for styling purposes. Brushing it with products in your beard won't damage the brush, but you might get some residue from the oil, but it should rinse out.

    Ok someone please respond to my question. What’s up with this in comparison to using sea salt spray? Salt on your beard makes sense as opposed to putting oil or balm in initially if you want the comb to grasp the hair. Most videos i see don’t mention sea salt spray bu an oil or something. So which is it?? I’m beginning to get the impression that you’re marketing more products than u can possibly use. Just my take on all of this. To compile all your advice via the videos one has to wonder. Carlose even made the comment that he sometimes oils his beard three times a day. Is anyone getting my drift?

      Different people have different routines and that's what we choose to share. Not everyone does everything the same way and there isn't one right or wrong way. Different beards, different textures, and different styles all require different products and techniques. Learn how we all do it, try it, and go with the routine that works best for you.
      There are millions of people who watch our videos; there isn't one guide we could create that would work for everyone. -Eric

      Never used salt spray. Sounds intriguing. But when you have sensitive or dry skin, salt could harm your skin, I think. Personally I use alot of olive oil to keep my skin and beard moist and in shape. From what I heard, its what the ancient greek did.
      I spread the oil on a fine comb and go through the beard, then pressing the hair with the handpalms down and into shape. I only use a tiny bit of the pricy beard oil at the end of the routine for the woody scent.

    I have my morning routine as well but the worst part about it all is the fact that I have so many tangles in my beard and combing sometimes can be a pit painful. How do I completely get rid of beard tangles?

      +Dorian Gonzalez i hate my knowledge of English language at some points. This is one of those moments :-D I'll try to explain to the best of my abilities :-)
      see, a comb, for some reason, which is firstly just one row of the parts that actually go into a beard, so If yours is tangled up, it won't get through as easily, while, if you use a brush, try to get one with three rows atleast, as it will be easier to go through your beard while combing it. Go slow, multiple times, and yours beard will get untangled. if you want, give me your email address, I'll send you a picture of the brush i use :-)
      Hope i helped :-)
      P.S.
      sorry about my English, as I stated at the beginning :-)

    Hey Eric. do you really use the blow drier every day? i heard it was bad to use it every day, personally i use it once - twice a week just when my beard seems extra curly as it helps with straightening, combing and oil absorbsion. cheers.

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Illious Gookus yup I do use the hair dryer everyday because it's actually healthier for your beard and hair over air drying. Here's the scientific study to back me up: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3229938/
      Keep in mind proper technique is the key.

    do I need to blow dry it daily or it stays for couple of days? I will like to give it a try though....my beard is a real mess

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're having issues with your beard puffing up daily, then yes, you may have to blow dry it every morning for a bit.
      BUT, keep in mind, doing this will "train" the hair to lay a little flatter, so over time, you may not need to blow dry it every single day.

    I haven't shaved since 6 weeks because i want to grow a short full beard. I already know that I can grow one and also can see the Little hairs. But the hairs in my chin and cotlet area Are way longer. It starts looking a bit weird. Is it ok to trimm those areas or should I still let them grow?

      Get some beard softener and do a deep softening treatment in the shower for about 5+ minutes. After that rinse it off, and apply some beard oil. That will help relax the hair then follow this same technique with a wider tooth comb and slower pace. Will help release the curls.

      Oh, I'm still using it daily as regular but I'm going to try to slowly scale back my usage and see if I can keep what I have up there. I'm not entirely sure it's made my head hair thicker and it's probably because I'm not using it 2x per day. I'm leaning towards just embracing my MPB and getting cuts that take that into consideration. I may change my mind after getting off it.
