    I’m biracial, so my beard isn’t exact like this, but it’s still very informative. I find that I get better results with a comb. Specifically a ox horn comb.

    I need to do a video about the crazy texture in my beard and what I do to straighten it. My beard has the equivalent of s waves, and finger waves in it. The grey is much more textured while my original beard hair color is much more relaxed. My beard straightening routine is almost akin to a full salon blow out. Thanks for the tips.

  • @ruminantmelanoid5444

    Thank you for doing this video. My beard is super coarse and ultra kinky (what females call 4c texture). I was wondering what I could do about styling. I was combing and brushing. The combing part is actually painful, but whatever. When I saw this, it confirmed that I was on the right track, thank you.

    • @barksdalewilliams3971
      @barksdalewilliams3971 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a female with natural hair (not on any chart) (several textures), I prefer to use a leave in conditioner and comb out using medium heat. The brush method actually highlights the coils, so it will usually depend on the amount of time I have if I decide to use a brush. I also apply a botanical oil, just adding it in small areas throughout my scalp and rubbing in after drying. I think for our many textures the balm has zero effect.

    • @ruminantmelanoid5444
      @ruminantmelanoid5444 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barksdalewilliams3971 That is an interesting observation. I was wondering about the balm issue. I didn't want to bring black and caucasian into the mix, but different hair texture is a real consideration. The hair on the front of my beard (on the chin) is not as tightly coiled as the rest, but everywhere else is coarse & kinky.

    • @BenWilson-rb7nz
      @BenWilson-rb7nz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it helped! Combing can be painful. Here are a few tips to help with that:
      1. Make sure your beard has some beard oil in it. This will help cut down on the snagging.
      2. Start with larger toothed combs (I use a pick) then work your way down to smaller sized teeth. Brush with each nice and easy until there are no snags, then move to the next size down.
      3. Finally, add in your products, then comb them in.

    I have been using this technique for years. For me, the first thing I do is wash my beard, I then towel dry, then I use a beard comb and blow dry down straight. For the mustache, I use a beard brush. Lastly, I use a beard balm and rub into my beard and it's all done.

    Brother man👑🦁 I guess it works for you never brush your beard dry sooner or later you'll start breaking little pieces of hair on your brush. It will start making your beard look unhealthy.get a small water spray bottle, when your beard becomes soft and moist through fingertip massage, get you a good leave-in conditioner comb through thin after 3 to 4 minutes oil and butter massage through with fingertips to hair surface use comb and gently brush and hand pat into shape. Stop trimming your beard along your cheek that's why your hairs are out of place just let your beard grow and keep it beautifully moisturize combed and brushed if you need a trim go to a good 💈
