I’m glad you reinforced the frame a bit. There’s a lot of stress running through that point of the frame now that the structural part of the engine is gone. Could probably still use some more trussing.
100%, the original motor is structural, those 2 extra bars arnt making up for the strength lost.
some well placed trussing around the battery box will help the strength a lot and may go a long ways towards hiding the giant square box which looks out of place with the rest of the bike
@@jamieforrester7108 Couldn't agree more about the square box, I would love to see some softening of the box with plastic mouldings or something.
I would add more trussing because it was originally welded in Italy. I’ll show myself out.
Years ago before a 1000hp engine was common my cousin built a huge marine engine for a corvette race car and it was so strong that half way through the race one of the wheels was no longer on the ground cause it had warped the frame so bad from torque. So they had to straighten and reinforce the frame and it would still bend slightly every race! It was one of those off shore boat racing engines like 8.0 liter 1400hp or some crazy stuff.
I am really glad that more people are starting to understand the joy of riding electric motorcycles. the raw torque that comes from electric motors is unlike anything else. I've been living in China for 8 years now where the electric bike scene is huge and I know firsthand that once you ride electric bikes, it's hard to ride a gas bike again. The silent smooth ride of electric is just unbeatable. (I even see you're using the same controller that I have on my bike). If you ever need help with getting parts or translating something from Chinese just hit me up. Me or my Chinese wife can help you out. I will make sure you don't get scammed by a Chinese seller again like what happened with your car ; )
Edit: I am also curious if you are running water cooling through the controller? I didn't see any radiator or water pump setup.
When you build a better EV than certain bike manufacturers for a fraction of the cost.
Give yourselves a massive pat on the back. Great work!!!
Crazy how loud it is at top speed. It sounded like a jet.
Sounds SO cool.
@@TheInja Is it the hub motor who sounds like a jet ? It is way too cool ^^
@@TheInja You could possibly use the simple wiring of a moped or similar bike ?
@@Camille-LG The motor is the only part of the bike that makes any noise besides the tires on the road.
Must’ve used a Termignoni Exhaust converter on the circuit board somewhere… 🤔
Congratulations for becoming a new dad to an awesome and adorable little man! Also you guys really outdid yourselves with that insanely beautiful E-cati⚡️Can’t wait to see it painted👍 Great work gents!
You should keep clutch cable but connect it to the side stand so when you pull it it lifts the stand up
Very impressive gentlemen. Congratulations on your accomplishment. Still very attached to the raw sounds of a performance engine, but you guys are giving me hope. 👍🏻
These motors spun up at full speed sound insane! Great work you two. My 24kw motor is just mounted on a stand currently and even at only 50% amps it sounds like the future. Your vid gets me hyped to dig in soon!
Send me videos of it running when it's done! 💯
@@TheInja just curious if the whatsapp replies are actually from you or is this some type of scam?
@@theprodigalstranger5259 lol obviously a spam bot.
@@TheInja Thank you, Im old and dont know about some of this stuff lol
24KW ? dude .. you're insanely cool and scary at the same time.
No more expensive Ducati servicing. Score 💥
It's easy to do, I do It myself for 100€, oil, oil filter, timing belts and valve clearance 😉
Wow! This model has lots of transformation from the previous one, at least, all the dangerous sharp angles are no where to be seen..... A very nice & road user safety friendly bike!
Never have I ever wanted an ev bike as much I as I do now ahaha awesome build my dudes
Smoked the Challenger! I wonder which one would be faster out of this bike and the cafe build from 0-60 I'm sure you've mentioned it on how fast the cafe racer is but still would be a cool video to ride them both around before you get rid of it.
For sure will do more! This will be our 3rd electric street bike and we'll definitely line them all up.
shoot i just want a form of transportation, back n forth to work been walking for ten years. hell i love that jacket sitting behind him with the helmet
too!!!
That's impressive, well done guys
Simply amazing great job guys! 👍
You seriously leveled up with this build. The bike itself sound very balanced and nice to ride 😇 I am really impressed by Curt's knowledges.
Please do not go too crazy with the paint, Ducati paint code and original components are the best for a sick restomod 🤯
You guys have come a long way. Congrats.
What a ride 💯
Awesome stuff! It would be interesting to see it (1) up against an example of the original gas-powerd Ducati, and (2) how it handles in twisties, track conditions etc...
LOL, It would fail on 0-60, top speed, range and maneuverability. But maybe beat it in stealth at low speed and cost?
@@just_one_opinion I don't think that was his point. Would definitely be interesting in a side-by-side! Bet it has more obvious torque from 60-100mph than original. No vibration, no shifting. It has it's advantages. Ever ridden a high-power electric motorcycle?
its almost like the jetsons are in town . cool cant waith to see the colors . crazy project guys
that thing is quick!!
This is literally the best channel I’ve found in a long while! Thank you very much for the great content and can’t wait for the monster to be finished up!
Glad to have you! 🙌🏽
So sick. Can’t wait to see how this thing holds up. Companies spend millions of dollars making an electric motorcycles and you guys thew that together at a fraction of the cost. Awesome job love the channel and the content as always. Been a sub very early in your channel keep it up!
Thanks, Tom!
@@TheInja Have a look on YT for Malarkey Engineering electric bikes in England. Ride safely.Phil
these dudes are about to become millionaires
Fighter Jet ready for liftoff! Well done!
absolutely love it. great job.
the direction of the tread pattern on the rear looks to be facing the same as the front. maybe check the rear tyre for correct orientation. I haven't had continentals but Michelin, Bridgestone and pirrelli have the rear tyre tread pointing forward in the center trailing back out ward
I love watching what you and Kurt achieve from the other side of the world and the other hemisphere. you should be rightfully proud of what you do.
Thanks, Mat! 💯
bad ass man. let's see the top speed..
Sup it’s one of your og veiwers Cosmic on my new account, I was watching this channel when you legit had about 50k subs and I remember your build was just a normal cafe racer and that fact you turned that into a fully working electric bike is insane and what’s even crazier is that you did it again with a Ducati. Which is pretty crazy to how far it’s come to now, keep goin with the builds wanna see what else you could accomplish in the future! 👍🙏
That thing is nuts! I can’t wait to see range, top speed, and who ends up winning the bike.
Sounds awesome. Great job!
06:45 👌🏿 I wish more electric motorcycles and electric cars comes with these kind of regen brakes ❤️❤️
About to build my own with a 15,000 watt 17 inch 7.6 hub motor with a 72 volt 150 amp lithium battery. i was going to get a 96 volt 150 amp but im sticking with the 72 volt 150 amp
Such amazing job guys, well done on the bike, can't wait to see what colours it will go for.
That big square box needs addressing but otherwise seriously cool. Take my money!♥️
Battery
Was thinking the same thing. Hopefully they can do some clever paint work to make it seem less boxy.
@@NoMoneyOfficiallyBroke it ain't done yet 😏
That is so cool. It as fast or a bit faster than my 06 Charger RT to 60 which is pretty fast. Not Hellcat or Tesla ludicrous speed but plenty damn quick and it's stable too which is great. You guys have really stepped it up and just keep moving forward and learning how to keep making them better 🤟
What hub motor did you use? the QS 12 kW? Nice example of what you can do with cheap electronics and a good frame, a perfect commuter bike, and not that far from the performance of the Monster 600 (albeit slow for a proper motorcycle). Good job! 👍
Absolutely right! 12kW hub (wound for 157 kmph at 96v) and APT96800 (or961000) It’s such a pleasure to ride
came out so sick!
Incredible, sounds like a rocketship 🤣😎
WOW!! Great Job! You got something there for sure.
wow Lord Curt you deserve a standing ovation for real 👏 🙏
I appreciate that, man
Curt Musk out here putting in WORK!!! lol
The future of DIY hot rodding looks good!
Inja this is Awesome you have completed an amazing build its EPIC if I won I would give it to my best friend Steve because he is my hero He has prolonged my wife's life as she has Stage 4 melanoma he is paying for a Special treatment which has Shrunk her tumours We live in the UK so Shipping it here would be impossible but just the look on his face If I presented it to him would be Phenominal as he is a modest guy and I don't know anyway else to repay him, Pipe dreams eh! Sorry I had to put this out there!
That thing is awesome the only thing I can think of is maybe Roundup the battery box a little bit so it don't look like a big Square box hanging down
Exactly and once you notice you can't unsee it 😄 Good thing the 🔋 technology is evolving so fast and becoming readily available that by the time this video turns two years old the cells will be half the size
That's gonna look great in my garage!
Yessssss 🎉
Very very nice creation
Man I love these build videos
Awesome video.
Keep on living your dreams.
Regards from South Africa 🇿🇦.
Hi, Inja, I think you have the rear tire mounted in the wrong way. I don't know if you have seen that. In this way, the tire will not properly evacuate the water on wet. Check the arrow who indicates rotation at the side of the tire.
Thank you for your videos.
Lord Kurk is right jet engine , sounds very impressive !!!.
attention to details…nice. structual integrity important with the additional battery weight. i like!
Man just think there's gunna be a day when things w internal combustion are classics. I personally will never give in to the electric side but its fun to watch this new wave develope
When its completed, take it to Bonneville!!!
Wow..this is incredible!!
Awesome job guys.
Is 5 seconds plus good for a 12,000w motor? Is your bike VERY heavy? I know you guys stuffed a huge battery in there. I was hoping that my build would come in at sub 3 seconds but my rolling frame isn't super light and I'm heavy (Manx rolling frame). Kinda rethinking my mid motor choices now.
sounds like a work of art to me
you guys can be proud, this built is a blast 🤟🏼
🙌🏽
11:04 Thanos would be proud
@@Darkness-ie2yl LOLOLOL
I am smiling ear to ear from start to finish. Phew...
Seeing the baby at the end made me think these guys shouldn't be near it; they'll steal its soul and create something interesting but not what we love about babies! :D
Do you got to register it
Looks great and seems to be going really well. Glad to see that extra frame piece.
Ofc, idk what if anything you already did towards using the battery as structural but it would probably still benefit from an extra bar from the engine mount to the footpeg, to support the swingarm pivot and the rider's feet. Maybe not needed but perhaps put a couple hundred miles on it then strip it down and inspect thoroughly for cracks by welds, before doing the final finishing?
Especially as it's a giveaway bike, you wouldn't want the (liability of the) frame cracking or splitting in use. Think triangles!
Dude went to grab the clutch 🤣👍
Man you guys are the pioneers on electric motorcycle 🏍 really enjoy watching your videos..! 💯
damn fun projekt !!! great job to both of you!!
have you added Statorade for the motor so it stays cool so you do not just cook the stator winding that air gap between the stator and the permanent magnets is a heat trap
I wish I would've seen this giveaway before the deadline was over this is literally my dream bike Ducati is my all time favorite and i want an electric bike so bad another dream gone 😫
This actually opened my eyes at how much beautiful is the monster without those huge mufflers!
Going to get one, as they are pretty cheap here, at their home, and try to mimic this looks..
Damn that thing is mean! Had to grab that red Ducati Monster keychain just in case! :) Keep spreading the positive vibes and dream chasing!
Will do! Glad you're enjoying it! 🙌🏽
Awesome brother that thing sounds amazing
Whoaaa That’s crazy beast!! Good job guy!
Dudes, your rear tire is mounted wrong way, btw nice job love the DucatE :D
Great work guys 👍
Now it needs to be done is try to make a crotch rocket fiberglass kit around it so it will deceive people who dont know that it's all electric.. The bike is sharp..
11:03 like all things should be!
Inja ma boi, came to the video as fast as your bike.
DANGGGGGG
Need to take this and the LC45 out for a range test soon as you get tags!
What an amazing job team!!!! Congrats!
Awesome power, she's a beast 💪 😎 👍
I like how he’s still pulling the clutch while breaking
I want it 🙋🏻
It sounds awesome... great work 👍🏻
Will it be able to go from your neighborhood to Santa Clara on a single charge?
Predicting a win, are we?? Haha, I love it
@@LordCurt Lord No! 😁
Excellent build. I need one
Very cool. Check out the Aptera AWD EV. It's quicker than 5 seconds to 0-60. Can go up to 1000 miles on a charge. I ordered the 600 mile version. Sun changes up to 40 miles a day too.😎 I'm all in for EV's.
Wind noise on a bike is much louder than you think. The motor drowns it out so we don't realize just how loud the wind noise is on a bike at 100 MPH.
I've had 14 motorcycles in my life. My Moto Guzzi V11 LeMans was one of my very favorites. The wind noise on my R100RS was deafening! (even with ear plugs) as the fairing wind blast hit just above my visor.
No more bikes for me because my back is bad. Soo I got a GT-R. It comes close for 😁 power. It's faster and quicker than any of my bikes too. Plus you can fit a couple of dead hooks in the trunk!! 😅🤣😅
Nice video of your electric Duck.😎👍
is that the qs273 90h? i have a qs273 50H on a stealth bomber frame. It is absurdly fast.. 33,600W (168v 200A). It is absurd power on an absurdly light frame. I smoke crotch rockets off the line. I wanted to get the 90H but the 50H was already a bitch to get it to work on this stealth bomber frame. 200mm axle on a 175mm dropout swingarm. it is a nightmare to get the tire off and on.
Awesome build. I love building these things. Lookin forward to seeing the finished product!!
Electric Jetstream mini boat next? Also where's the hoodies at?
I'll check the website tonight! There should be some on there!
@@TheInja can't wait. I think only stickers available on the website. Nothing else showing up.
Great custom bike. Great job guys. The response is awesome maybe consider creating an optional 'eco-mode' that limits the acceleration and top speed for the next owner if possible.
Would someone be able to explain why this is so much slower than an equivalent gas powered motorcycle? Vs for example cars where the electric versions are usually far quicker.
nice, was the pin you guys' idea? im guessing you drilled through the axle and nut to run the pin through. i might have to s̶t̶e̶a̶l̶ borrow your idea 😂
also, 0-60 times with a hub motor will usually be slower than a geared powertrain, since as the RPMs go up the torque decreases almost linearly. unless the supplied amps are large enough, in which case torque is constant, lol
Lol!! A lot of old motorcycles have a castle nut and cotter pin!
@@TheInja ah ok, never worked on motorcycles only bikes.
From the motor size and everything it seems equatable to a ninja 300. Though I feel even though the 0-60 is similar to the ninja 300 that the over 60mph is better. Is the throttle setup kind of conservative? I feel like it should have some more gusto down low.
BTW. Yah'll should see if anyone in your area has electric motorcycles and see if they will let you test ride for the channel. So, you can see how they perform. It's mind blowing.
Absolutely awesome!!!
So awesome, I definitely need one of these after seeing this... craziness!!!!
Literally even has a sonic booom!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 literally….
Gonna make some lucky viewer really happy.
Absolutely 🙌🏽
wow , amazing beast .... I wonder how many amps that thing would be pulling 😍😍✨✨✨✨
That is really cool 😎
😂 The 'Street Hawk' theme started playing in my head top speed runs!
Original engine is a streesed member of the frame so she's gonna 💪 FLEX
I need to build & design one with you guys! Soon! God bless!and
Already clearing out a space for it lol
Amazing!! Such a great project guys
Thanks Ben!
should put a stabilizer on the front if its getting light so you dont get wobbles... really cool bike and vid... cheers...
Might want to add a hub motor to the front to make it 2 wheel drive.
