I have been Archidekting a Rakdos, Lord of Riots deck that was gonna be semi budget with all the fun big mana not overpowered eldrazi that I could find. I got it finally into sleeves with some proxies of the more expensive cards. Then, on about the fifth game, someone pointed out that the card says I can't play him unless an opponent lost life this turn. The whole time I thought that I was the one that had to lose life to play him. I have no idea how that had slipped by me for so long, but now I am very excited because I already thought he was good, and now he is even better. Since then, he has been showing amazing potential!
I have been toying with a Marisi, Breaker of Chains forced combat deck, and a Teysa Karlov aristocrats deck; both because my Queen Marchesa didn't do what I wanted - getting people to swing; basically I would get The Monarch and just...keep it. 😂
You have almost twinned my Marchesa deck! Goad, pillow fort and politics as well. I lean hard on Legenday humans synergies as well, the LotR's Rowhan deck has a ton of great legendary human cards that fit the theme! Never though of take the bait...will have to add!
I'm creating for the first time a deck on my own from zero, its a tetsuo equipment deck, and I'm trying to figure out how much removal i need if i can remove creatures with my commander ability That way of thinking is cool..
Great video! You’ve summed up my deck building process pretty well, and I’m very glad our Marchesa decks are so different! She’s so versatile and is my absolute fav
I have two favorite decks. Nicol Bolas, the Ravager and Breya, Etherium Shaper. Both of these decks have gone through multiple iterations and I finally have them where I want them to be. People view my Breya deck as my strongest deck so, unfortunately for my friends, I play my Nicol Bolas deck more often. It's a discard deck. I love both decks.
My omnath locas of all with all 43 land cycling creatures and total lands is 20. Ironically very consistent and somehow that makes the deck really fun.
I also have been putting together a Marchesa deck. I'm leaning heavily into goad and pillow fort to get the other 3 players squabbling over the monarch while I quietly get value ready to pop off when there's only one player left. I still need to make that popping off better though, right now I can survive to the end pretty consistently, but it's rough to win from there.
One of my favorite “finishers” is casting Drach’nyen on my final opponent’s big creature to let the Queen finish the job herself. Each of my commanders have their own “signature” weapon and that is her’s
one finisher that have gave me many wins, out of nowhere and a card no one espect is price of progress, does 2 dmg to everyone depending on their non basic lands. IF decks are expensive, more than 2 colors they usually have lot of non basics. it hurts
@@Babs-md3tj one card i have not tried but i have it on the look is mercadias downfall. it give +X +0 to each creature depending on the non basic the opponent have. you can use it to pump the creature of a player and kill other or use it as finisher. cheap card and is good, for goad or tokens might be even better.
My deck is "oops all combat tricks" Gregor, shrewd magistrate Gotta love balancing between how much protection, pump, evasion, counters and removal you run
Interesting concept I love how u point out the journey of a deck. It’s my first time really going through the latest steps of this journey and it’s hard where making a single/cut add is a mind plague for days/weeks! It’s burakos/folk hero party/treasure trying to keep the deck as D&D themed as possible. Forever having the feeling it just needs that 1 card extra to be perfect haha!
Jodah, the Unifier. You can build him in just about any fashion. I have been constructing, reforming and reshaping the deck for a little over a month now and I love it.
The more I get recommended your videos the more I feel like we're the exact same player 🤣 I have a Baeloth Barrityl/Noble Heritage deck that runs the exact same way, & even though it's not my most consistent winner it's by far my favorite deck to play. I love the way it introduces politics & puts people in these positions of making fallacies.
I did this to my enduring enchantments precon. The goal is to attack, mill, and fetch enchantments from the graveyard. So i added spells that check if i mill myself, if something happens, my graveyard, and also interaction for anyone that wants to touch my graveyard. 😅 mostly Anikthea wants to attack and fetch enchantments from graveyard thrn later i realize that to support her ability milling, grave robbing, and exiling spells are vital actions. I notably added polluted cistern, insidious roots, and Ashiok, Wicked manipulator. Polluted cistern deals damage if i mill, insidous roots activates when Anikthea fetch enchantment from graveyard to create token that can be tapped for mana, and then if enemy removed my echantment zombies, ashioks 2/2 horrors grow +1/+1 whenever a spells is exiled from anywhere.
For me, my Deck is my Orzhov Athreos, Shroud Vieled enchantress Deck, and it's offshoot Esper Alela, Artful Provocateur enchantress Deck. I loved how I got Atgreos to run so I decided to add a color and build a new Deck with the original gameplay in mind, but then I found a different way to run the Esper version
The current deck I've been playing around a lot is Kangee, Sky Warden and it's just a lot of UW flyers. Looking at doing Caesar though with a similar build to your Marchesa.
I have a K'rrik lifeswap combo deck that is easily my favorite deck. I've had it for so long that its gone through these stages. The only life gain in the deck is K'rrik's lifelink, Triskaidekaphobia, and any lifeswap cards. The rest relies on combat tricks and K'rrik's lifelink, which also gives me something to do when my deck is not doing the thing. I don't really run tutors as well, and instead run lots of different combo lines, which helps make sure the deck is never boring.
@@SabersWorkshop Soul Conduit, Magus of the Mirror, and Profane Transfusion all allow you to swap life with people. Also Repay in Kind doesn't swap but it makes everyone's life total equal to the player with the lowest life. So if you run cards that prevent you from dying, like Platinum Angel, Pact Weapon, or Lich's Mastery, you can go down to 0 life and make everyone have 0 life.
My first deck, Zurgo Helmsmasher has become a lean mean killing machine over the past 9 years. Only creature in the deck and only thing I do is clear the field and commander damage.
I made a Zurgo deck with only himself as a creature to win the game. I didn't tell anyone that he was the only creature and managed to win my first game with him! It was a blast!
@ my deck list is on moxfield under “Zurgo Stands Alone” if you’d like to compare and see. It’s really my favorite deck, capable of lethal commander damage by turn three with the right hand.
Muldrotha is this commander for me. Its such a vertile commander that im really thinking to split it uo into 2 or 3 decks to get to play all those awesomene sideboard cards 😭
Bello, trash Panda of hearts - love the tiny boi. Soft boi, good boi, killer boi. First i doubled down on enchantments, he would kill the pod soooo fucking fast while beeing a glass canon that i changed him because i didn't want to controlcreep the pod. Next literation was equipment, wich is just fun and feels like playing rocket raccoon. Now i prepare for aetherdrift snd vehicles
Im currently working on The Wise Mothman with some not so typical cards i dont like the infinite mana of food chain instead going for finishers like villainous wealth and rise of the dark realms
@Tae_Grixis agreed it's great to set your opponents' board state back a lot. I've got some proliferating sprinkled in so my bloodchief ascension only really needs one counter to get going. Sylvan library+psychic corrosion is a good combo even if you put both other cards back you already drew them so they mill 9 I think
@@MattsChannel-j9l I haven't played mill since about 2013 when I built a very casual mono-blue mill deck for the modern format. Never played it outside a few times at college.
I’m very new to Magic, and just built my Ezio deck that primarily runs a lot of AC cards. So far all the feedback I was given is that it’s far too slow and I genuinely have no clue how to improve it without losing flavor.
