Loved this. Immediately created a playlist to listen, and enjoyed it more than expected. I’m a Mind Games fan - in fact the recent releases reminded me of how much I enjoyed it. But I also found your series fun and entertaining. Nothing to be mad about. It’s always interesting to hear someone else’s take. Going to make some playlists of the others based on your selections, and then perhaps tweak them a bit to add ones I enjoy more. This has been fun. Thanks!
Loving this series of videos. Very entertaining stuff. A little surprised to not see 'Out The Blue' from "Mind Games" on there somewhere, but, if you're not high on "Mind Games" then I guess that makes sense. I dig that song.
This might be out there but been making this playlist to listen too and I actually thought for the title of this album to blend two songs together and might sound off but I came up with 'Photographic Mind Games' which mixes Photograph and Mind Games 🤷♂️
I went and made your playlist. Meat City and Photograph are great as opener and ender respectively. It really makes sense as a fantasy Beatles album. Good job!
Man, I've always wondered what the Beatles would have sounded like in the 70s. Always secretly hoped there's some alternate universe where they didn't break up or just took a few years off and got back together. Live And Let Die as a Beatles song would have taken the world by storm, man.
While I disagree with most of your opinions I very much enjoy your enthusiasm. Indeed, I share it. The world of "what if" albums has a tantalizing allure. It's as if ever disappointing reality were a movie and we could go back and rewrite it.
What would I call this album? How about "Mike Has A Hangnail". It feels like some random thing that they'd get a giggle about using as an album title to keep us guessing, as well as taking an important thing (like an album title) and making it not important.
Loved the zing at the start, ha. "I don't play by the rules so don't invite me to game night." - Eugene Mirman, comedian. Mind Games Side One: Band On The Run, Mind Games, Apple Scruffs, I'm The Greatest (Done as Ringo and John duet,) I Know, Helen Wheels Side Two: Jet, One Day at a Time (Outtake version without falsetto,) Give Me Love, Single Pigeon, Out of the Blue, Medley: a) Let Me Roll It b) Meat City.
Oh my God, I was so close to putting Single Pigeon on there but I thought everyone would think I was mad!! I love that song! All the Band On The Run songs will make an appearance in my Beatles '74 video.
@@dinnerwithgreedo Looking forward, the Band on The Run stuff mixed with Walls and Bridges stuff, can't wait to see what you come up with. Loved your '73 track listing too.
@@dinnerwithgreedo Are you kidding? I think Single Pigeon is a personal favourite for many people. Definitely for many people I personally know. And, definitely, for me. Single Pigeon is a quintessential McCartney as, say, Martha My Dear is
I’m so outraged with this guy that I think I’m going to puncture his car’s tires. For not including the song 'Who Can See It'. Probably George's best vocal performance in his entire career.
I was thinking about it BUT there's not a lot to say about it. Living in the UK, the American albums don't mean much to us. It would be good if they included the Butcher cover in there though.
I thought you might adhere to a rule I made up to not include songs that would NOT have been written if they'd stayed together. It seems unlikely that George would have written 'Sue Me Sue You Blues' if they'd stayed together. Or, I suppose, it could be allowed if we imagine them having had a legal row that did not result in a break up. There were some internal squabbles over their financial management (Allen Klein vs John Eastman) so... ok, I'll let it pass this time, although I am tempted to sue you as you keep taunting us to do over your controversial selections--and how wonderfully ironic it would be to sue you over your inclusion of this track! 😉
I included Sue Me Sue You Blues for exactly those reasons!! There’s no other songs that wouldn’t have been written on it. There’s no How Do You Sleep for example. Which is a shame coz it’s a cracking tune.
@@dinnerwithgreedo Cool. Although there is one other song that I will make the case wouldn't have been written if they had stayed together. It's a slightly more circuitous logic to my imagined scenario... I'll post it to your 1980 tracklist....
Like 'Get On The Right Thing' from RRS though it reminds me of a Coke commercial. 'One Day At A Time' has to be the non-falsetto version...can't stand the other. Why on earth exclude political and Beatle sniping songs. You'd rather hear songs about sheep and barns? So many good songs on Mind Games. 'You Are Here', 'Aisumasen' and 'Bring On The Lucie' all worthy. Always thought track order on Mind Games was wrong. 'Meat City' would've made a good starter as you have here. 'Tight As' was not strong enough to be track 2.
Thanks for the comment. I did consider Get On The Right Thing as it’s a great track. But that’s the problem with compiling these lists… gonna have to leave a load of good songs off. I exclude the Beatle sniping songs as if they’d stayed together it’s highly likely they wouldn’t exist. I mean… do you honestly think How Do You Sleep would have been on a Beatles album?!?! Lennon was WAY TOO political. A song here and there would be okay but he’s got LOADS. Easier just to leave them off. I’m not a fan of the Mind Games album and therefore have no love for the songs you mentioned. Yeah… Meat City really gets an album going. Maybe it wasn’t an album opener on Mind Games as the majority of the songs are musically the opposite. No point setting you up for a rocking album when the majority isn’t. This was a tough list to compile. ‘74 isn’t that much easier either. ‘75 maybe impossible. 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks again for your comment. I love a long comment!
I felt Deep Blue was the more ‘Beatley’ of the two. Keep watching this little series of mine. Don’t Let Me Wait Too Long makes an appearance. Just on a later album. Thanks for watching.
One thing I’ve noticed about Lennon and McCartney in particular is that the difference in their writing styles widened after leaving the Beatles. And yeah… this creates a bit of a mismatch when compiling these albums. McCartneys stuff, although great songs, seems weaker when next to the brashier Lennon songs.

Live And Let Die as a Beatles song would have taken the world by storm, man.
Love this new series
Thanks. It'll be short lived though. Gonna go up to 75. And then a 'reunion' album for '80.
Great picks! I LOVE Little Lamb Dragonfly!
It's so good!

What would I call this album? How about "Mike Has A Hangnail". It feels like some random thing that they'd get a giggle about using as an album title to keep us guessing, as well as taking an important thing (like an album title) and making it not important.
I keep leaning towards using a song title or apart of a lyric, but you’re right, it would be something obscure.
Nice little album. I liked side 2 better! Looking forward to the next one
Yeah… side two is where all the ‘power’ songs are.
What do you think though… is Photograph the best song on the album?
@@dinnerwithgreedo I've always loved Photograph, so yeah, I'd go with that
I liked the choices, especially not including Band on the Run. Mind Games is a good title.

By 73...each beatle would get an entire side... it would've been a double for sure...keep the lawyers happy
Yeah... i did think that and I actually tried.... but it's not a very good album.
adore Little Lamb Dragonfly
Even my Mrs likes that one… a she doesn’t like my taste in music.
This is a great series. How about the ’73 album
titled after a lyric. I would name the album,
The Beatles “PEACE ON EARTH“!

Nice title. In a similar vein, someone also said The Beatles - Live and Let Live

Right.
The Capitol issues have been not even American issues of the originals but grabs only,
@@sundance8744It’s just a shame that we seem to be getting that rather than a Beatles album remix this year.

It would seem that way.
