Whoa, i must have been under a rock Neville, ive been watching you on Max's channel so much Over and over. Never even realised you had yr own channel! Sorry for being a such a donkey. Ace ride! Some of those lads were really trying their best to snatch your lines, There's always a way around on a CR, you always find em. Apologies for not finding your channel sooner. You keep my small glories alive from 30 yrs ago kid! Much respect mate.
Great job, Nev!! You watched, you waited till you found your lines (groove) and reeled them in till it was all over but the crying! They never knew what hit em!! Your riding was smooth and calculated!! Go, team Bradshaw!!!
Raced a 84 CR 500 when I was 16. My buddy and I got them for having good grades our sophomore year. The most fun I ever had. Still have dreams of riding and racing that big bore!
Been riding CR500'S for 35 years .. I have a 97 CR500 in my garage right now.. just never been able to get on another bike.. Anyways that was really fun watching you ride, brought back a lot of memories..Ride red forever take care of yourself 👍👍
I liked your patience, developing good lines and braking points and then letting her rip. Much faster in the later portion of the moto. Seemed like the bike was never really working hard while the fartelaters ran scared. Nice race.
I love how it didn't look like you were pushing to make risky moves at the holeshot. Waited for it to thin out and then it was hunting time!!! Good shit dude!
Man, I was gettin into that ride! Great job. You took a little while to get tuned in, but started using that torque to reel em in.. Awesome riding! 2 things I noticed and maybe its because your bike runs different than my '86 did. One was you lost time following in the guy ahead's same line. Just have to focus on using a different line than the guy ahead, even if slower (can't pass if following and the other guy bobbles it -Brad Lackey). My automatic shifting part of the brain was wanting to go up another gear than you were in sometimes and use the torque via hammering the clutch to keep her in the sweet spot. There's no other bike I know of that you can consistently be a gear higher than the rest of the pack, and hammer the clutch for max power/RPM's. Mine had copper plates in the clutch to dissipate heat. But you started doing that later in the ride, and you were on the next guy in no time.. Just trying to be helpful, not back seat quarterback. You covered a lot of terrain very quickly. You didn't let the small stuff ruin the big picture. You were looking way ahead towards the end, and getting there fast. Great job! Makes me wish the ol' bod could still handle that beating.. Some of my best memories were Fri night mx at Ascot. I rode the last days the track was open. CR500 or XR600. Dam that 600 ran. Was built, had white power shock with fork kit, one of Al Baker's prototype cams fresh out of a bike he won b to v with. Love the unlimited class. So, different line than the guy ahead, and give the bike a tall gear to cover lots of ground fast. And, MORE VIDS PLS!! 👍🏽👍🏽
@@biophillie you remind me from a guy that lives by us and he lives over the hill from us and his name is phil and we call him "fill from over the hill" which your name reminded me has him. btw yes this video was badazz.

That was really fun. You and #33 came together at the start and he got the best of it, then he spent the entire race just a bike or three ahead of you. Total hound/rabbit scenario and I found myself looking for him in the distance as the gap widened until he couldn't be seen. Then he comes back into view and you slowly reel him in while you're both navigating back markers. You could tell he felt the push from behind because he finally broke and let you by without putting up a defense. Great riding and so much fun to watch!

I was waiting for you to pick off Greedy since he pinched you off on purpose early in the race, lol. Ok So the CR500 overshoots the turns so handling is bad. I know it’s heavier but braking is so important on this bike and the suspension needed to be softer. They need to build it to where the computer recognizes a turn a tunes the engine down to be more manageable in turns and then it goes back to normal on the straights
I can remember my IT 490 doing this on pony express races. But 4 strokes have come a long way. The old 500cc thumpers wouldn’t stand a chance against us.

That distinctive sound of the CR. I had a CR-250, One of my friends had a CR500..It was a beast of an Open machine.

Nothing like a 2 stroke!!
Looks like the CR500 is fishing for some four strokes.....reeling them in.
Nothing but respect for anyone who has the skill and fitness to ride this machine like this.
A little bit of throttle goes a long way on the CR500...it takes a lot of discipline and experience to ride one of those beasts. Mad respect.

Are you starting in 2nd gear? Try some 3rd gear starts if you're not, CR500's can pull them no problem.
